HAS URFA (Halal grill) in Bochum

I stop by from time to time to try the various Turkish dishes, and I have to admit they serve really high-quality food at a fair price. What was recommended to me by a colleague a few years ago has now become my go-to place for kebabs, or when I'm in the mood for their stews. The service is usually very friendly, but one drawback, in my opinion, is the atmosphere, as most of the tables are occupied, even though there are a decent number of tables for eating in. At certain times of the week, it can get quite noisy, and you might have to wait a while for a table, but there's always the option of takeaway, which is what I usually do, even if it does get a bit colder. Of all the Turkish restaurants I've been to, I can wholeheartedly recommend this one, as it's suitable for both a fancy dinner and a quick kebab – depending on what you're in the mood for.

I went with my friend, and my homesickness subsided for an evening. It felt good that the staff spoke and responded in Turkish when necessary, and that the menu, even the channel on the screen, was Turkish :) I ordered the Beyti, and the portion was quite large and delicious. While Beyti and similar dishes might be beyond a student budget, it's still worth a try once a month :p I'll definitely go here again when I feel the urge to go Turkish. The staff was also very kind. I always order doner kebab on my first visit if it's a homemade skewer. I can't help myself and absolutely have to try it. If you're in Bochum, you should definitely stop by here.

I ordered three doner kebabs with a large side of fries to go for just under €30. For "one" doner kebab, the salad and tzatziki were supposed to be wrapped separately, but the doner kebab owner refused, saying he would only do this for orders of at least seven doner kebabs. After an unnecessary discussion with him, he reluctantly wrapped the salad after all, but without the sauce. He could have charged me extra for wrapping it separately, and I wouldn't have had a problem with that, but refusing to do it is simply unprofessional. As a long-time regular customer who has spent a lot of money in this shop, I find it a shame that such unnecessary actions simply cause annoyance to customers.

But that in no way detracts from the culinary experience. If you're in Bochum, don't miss this restaurant!

When it came to the chicken clay pot with vegetables and rice, all of the vegetables were very mushy. The buttered rice was cold and had no taste, but the price was 20.90 euros, far too expensive for such quality. The meat on the chicken skewers was burnt and very dry and the dressing that came with it was, in our opinion, really disgusting. We charged 18.50 for it. We were there for the first and last time. The price-performance ratio doesn't even go as far as the quality

One can hope that this slip-up remains an isolated incident, because the potential of this house is undoubtedly there. But enjoyment depends on expectations, and unfortunately these were not fulfilled today.

We were there on April 23rd and wanted to eat the breakfast buffet. We had already found a long hair on the first plate. We told the waitress and for her it was the most normal thing in the world. A good restaurant near Bochum Town Hall. If you want to get to know a Turkish snack bar like in Turkey, you should go there. Have a huge charcoal grill. The shop is open 24 hours just like some restaurants in Istanbul. There are also the Turkish soups that you are used to in Turkey. It is a clear recommendation from me.
