Harzer Schnitzelhaus & Harzer Waffelbäckerei in Bad Sachsa

Vacation in the southern Harz in June, half-day trip to Bad Sachsa, beautiful place. Already looked on Google and TripAdvisor, hard to miss, well rated, the Harzer Schnitzelhaus. Warm food from 11 a.m., surprisingly well attended in the early afternoon, large selection, various waffles, plenty of different schnitzels and much more. The dog was welcome and we sat comfortably outside. The male waitress was very nice, there was water for the wuffle and even a small treat at the end when paying. We treated ourselves to a Zig. Schnitzel with fries and a schnitzel with mushrooms and onions, with fried potatoes. There was also a not-so-small mixed salad plate. Everything was very tasty and filling. Afterwards a Plauzenbügler as a nightcap. We can definitely recommend this restaurant...thumbs up. Oops, we were there again the day after. And again very satisfied. Another male waitress, also very friendly. This time there was a potato waffle with herring and a normal waffle with ice cream and yoghurt chocolate as a snack. So many variations that you would love to try....🙃 Hi

We spontaneously stopped in for a schnitzel shortly before work. Because time was of the essence and the kitchen wanted to, we pre-ordered directly by phone and were able to get started as soon as we arrived. Great service and the schnitzels were really tasty. Thanks for the spontaneity

I was in this restaurant with my wife - we had beef broth, hunter's schnitzel, croquettes with vegetables and for dessert a waffle with cherries 🍒 and cream. The broth was a red broth with clumped letter noodles. The schnitzel was tasteless, with a tablespoon of sauce with mushrooms 🍄 on top, the same amount of vegetables and it was cold - it came with 3 croquettes. The waffle with cream and cherries 🍒 was baked black and hard. Beef broth for 8.90 euros, schnitzel for 19.50 euros and everything was of poor quality, the price is not justified in any way!!! The quality of the waffle is also not that of a good waffle house!! I do not recommend this schnitzel and waffle house.

Highly recommended, absolutely delicious. Even with a starter salad for the schnitzel. And definitely try a fresh waffle for dessert, you won't regret it

It was not very busy out of season. The place is nicely decorated and the food is good! Definitely recommended if you are in the area.

Had lunch here with the family today. Friendly greeting and we were escorted to the table. Our daughter received crayons and a coloring sheet with the children's menus on it. There are children's high chairs there. Absolutely child-friendly. The drinks were served quickly. The food was served in a short time. We had Jägerschnitzel, a small schnitzel with fries and a cauliflower cheese medallion. The portion of the latter was too small with 2 small medallions. The service wanted to pass it on. That was the reason for deducting a star because you weren't full. The entire meal tasted great. We paid 60 euros. There are many variations of schnitzel. You can order veal or chicken as well as an additional schnitzel for an additional charge. Thank you for the really delicious food 😊

Went for schnitzel with my dad yesterday. Enjoyed schnitzel variations with 285 g each from the huge selection! Top quality and not ready-made fried goods! We are not the first nor the last time here.

That was great - we came relatively spontaneously with a group, but were accommodated despite it being the weekend. All 12 people enjoyed the food very much, the service and ambience were perfect - great. This year we'll be back 😁

Die Schnitzel sind super und für kleinere Kinder ist ebenfalls gesorgt - gute Karte für die Kleinen und es standen sofort Malsachen auf dem Tisch. Service war zügig aber trotzdem entspannt. Konnte auch direkt eine Frage zur näheren Umgebung beantworten. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Ambiente ist stimmig und mit Liebe gestaltet. Das Hausbier war echt klasse. Und auch die Namensgebung einzelner Schnitzel Gerichte fand ich persönlich treffend - manches heißt halt einfach immer noch so… :)

Delicious food, fast service, nice ambience

We were here for the first time today and are thrilled. We have never experienced such a dog-friendly restaurant. Water and food at the entrance. A bowl of fresh water is then provided at the table and then when the bill arrives there is a treat for the dog and the owner. The food was super fresh and tasty and the wait staff was super friendly and attentive. The facility is designed with love. We'll definitely be back. Thank you for everything.

Now by far our favorite location in the surrounding area. We are impressed by how well organized a larger guesthouse can be. Service and quality match here, the offering itself is exceptionally extensive and so far we have never been disappointed. It should be emphasized that there are countless schnitzel variations as well as just as many waffle variations. Simply beautiful here!

Beim Schnitzelhaus ist der Name Programm. Schnitzel gibt es in reichlicher Auswahl und in allen Variationen. Auch andere Gerichte werden angeboten, aber hier gilt ganz klar … Schnitzel sind Trumpf! Die Schnitzel sind von guter Qualität und sind schmackhaft und frisch. Die Portionen sind großzügig. Da wird man sicher satt. Pommes waren prima, die Bratkartoffeln hatten etwas Luft nach oben … geschmacklich ok, aber etwas knuspriger hätten sie für meinen Geschmack sein können. Insgesamt aber ist das Jammern auf hohem Niveau. Das Ambiente ist hell und gemütlich, die Bedienung freundlich und aufmerksam. Alles in allem waren wir sehr zufrieden und kommen gern mal wieder, wenn wir In der Gegend sind.

I had the house style schnitzel. The fried potatoes were soft and burnt at the same time. The meat of the schnitzel was a 3/10, the pannade was a 2/10 but it was very fatty. The bacon had a strange aftertaste.

As soon as you enter the restaurant you feel at home, the entire staff is super friendly and accommodating. We ordered a Swiss Schnitzel and a Fanny Schnitzel, both of which were terrific. To top it all off, we had an apple strudel waffle for dessert. We get around a lot, but food THAT good is rare. Keep it up, we'll be happy to come back!

We have been here more often now - in fact it is part of almost every visit to the Harz. Our children are always keen on the waffles, which are available in a huge XXXXL selection in the afternoon. Very tasty and the staff has always been very nice and friendly and professional and attentive. Everything's fine. We can also recommend the schnitzel variations, but the highlight for us are the waffles.

Unfortunately, the lettuce served with the main course was wilted brown around the edges. The chef/waitress should have seen that. We all have eyes in our heads. The schnitzel was average, nothing special. We would have expected more at the SCHNITZELHAUS.

Very, very nice atmosphere and very nice service. Highly recommended

The schnitzel was prepared in the deep fryer, the breading was dark brown, the homemade "gypsy sauce" was fine, the salad was prepared early in the morning and really wobbly at 1:30 p.m. The service is trying to be friendly.

I can recommend it is a bit expensive but the price/performance ratio is just right.

We went to the Harzer Schnitzelhaus with the whole family and absolutely loved it! As soon as we entered we were greeted warmly. There was a children's chair so that the little ones could sit comfortably at the table. We were also brought painting supplies for the children, which was not only a great surprise, but also allowed us parents to have a relaxing time. The food was excellent. The schnitzels are tender, perfectly seasoned 👌 The atmosphere is cozy and warm, perfect for families. The staff are very attentive and ensure that you feel completely comfortable. We will definitely be back and can highly recommend the Harzer Schnitzelhaus to everyone – with or without children! Thank you for this great visit!

Wir haben auf der Internet Seite schon vorher geguckt was wir essen wollen. Wo wir dann aber die Karte bekommen haben hieß es das es bei größeren Gruppen nur eine kleine Karte gibt. Sie sind uns ebenfalls nicht entgegengekommen als wir Vorschläge gemacht haben das beide glücklich werden. Für uns war das echt unprofessionell da wir nicht so eine große Gruppe waren(9 Leute)

The Schnitzelhaus looks inviting from the outside, but unfortunately not from the inside. We expected something rustic and cozy, unfortunately this wasn't the case. Large room, more of a canteen feeling. Really a shame. The schnitzels were okay, but nothing more. Unfortunately we won't be coming back.

A visit to this special restaurant should crown our vacation. So we ordered only savory and sweet waffle dishes, expecting to get something special. Unfortunately, the expectations were set far too high and some of the waffles did not correspond to the description on the menu. If it is e.g. For example, if the menu says "baked with cheese", then that definitely doesn't mean the raw cheese cubes lying on top. So the food was OK, but nothing more than that. In any case, for us we wouldn't classify this restaurant as more than an experience restaurant. This review represents solely our opinion, which is partly subjective and partly objective. Feel free to make your expectations and don't always let others guide you! Have fun!

We ate here at the start of our vacation. Since it was Boxing Day, there was a holiday menu. The portions are large and were very tasty. Despite the waitress's mistake, the other food was brought straight away and we received a small compensation. We can recommend the restaurant without hesitation 😊

Super nice, even when the hut is full. The waiters always took their time and even had a place for the dog. A separate water bowl at the table, water and food at the entrance. The food was delicious and the house beer was also highly recommended. So we weren't just there on Sunday, but again on Friday before we went back on vacation.

Went there yesterday after a hike for waffles and coffee and ate schnitzel at a later date. The selection of schnitzels is large and you can hardly decide on a dish. There are also other dishes that sound very tasty. The service was fantastic and we received a very friendly welcome. The food came quickly and tasted great. We'll definitely come back again ;)

If you want to eat a good schnitzel, you're in good hands here. I thought it was great that I could get a gluten-free breaded schnitzel, and all the sauces are also gluten-free. We'll definitely be back!

In my opinion, the schnitzel and the side dishes were not to my taste. Service and ambience were A1.

Very nice staff. Schnitzel and fries were great. BUT: Guys, it's been in the media a lot now how dangerous lettuce is to your health. I worked in restaurant kitchens for a long time myself and it is the management's job to encourage employees not to serve spoiled food. So do it! And by the way: salad was given in a separate container. So there was NO contact between the schnitzel/fries and the salad. Regarding your answer: it's a shame that you react to justified criticism with such pettiness and criticize my language. This brings up the question of how serious your apology is. I think my criticism is really mild considering the fact that such rotten lettuce often leads to serious illnesses.

Everything is right here! We even went here twice on a gray weekend in November. The waffles and schnitzels are great! Just like the service. The room with the old oven has a lot of charm.

For a schnitzel house - so-so... it could be better!

Were there yesterday and had a really good meal. Our son got a painting kit and our dog got a bowl of water. Food was brought quickly and we were asked again and again if everything was OK. When we paid we were given sweets, our son was given a small bag of gummy bears and our dog was given a treat. We would always eat there again when we are in Bad Sachsa. It's best to expand into the Cuxhaven district 🤗😉

Delicious food at good prices. The ambience is simply a matter of taste. But it was clean and everything was tidy.

Service was great, very attentive and friendly. The schnitzel tasted average at best. Unfortunately it didn't convince us. Anyone who has ever eaten a good schnitzel will probably say the same thing. Still a nice atmosphere.
