We spontaneously decided to go to the waffle house on a weekday (Thursday), around 3 pm. There were plenty of free tables. The food was delicious and the service was very friendly. I also found the restaurant very child-friendly. They provide placemats and crayons. They offer children's meals for ages 12 and up. The restrooms were clean as well. We paid by card. We had lunch and waffles; they have a fantastic selection of schnitzel variations and more, as well as a huge variety of waffle options.

We had dinner at the Schnitzelhaus this evening with six people, including two children. We received a very warm welcome and were shown to our table. We had to arrive in two stages because the weather had disabled the second car. I mentioned this immediately, and they were very accommodating. The children were treated with such care and respect. We felt extremely comfortable. The children were also delighted. The food was excellent. We had various schnitzels and steak. The children had the obligatory fries with chicken nuggets. For dessert, we had waffles and ice cream. We drove home completely happy and satisfied. A wonderful last evening in Bad Sachsa. Thank you!

We were there today with the whole family. The food was absolutely delicious. The two little ones, ages 4 and 10, were thrilled with their children's meals. The service was excellent with the kids, and the two older children, ages 18 and 20, loved it too. Just like my wife and I. When we're on holiday here again, we'll definitely be back with the kids.

Super friendly team. Because of our eldest son's dietary needs, we ordered the schnitzel gluten-free. Unfortunately, the croquettes weren't gluten-free (perhaps you could change your supplier), but the staff was aware of this and pointed it out. Great selection of schnitzel and sauces. We would have liked to add a side dish upon request (beans, mixed vegetables, etc.). But we would definitely recommend it.

I can highly recommend this restaurant. I spontaneously decided to have dinner here with my two children and were given a table without any problems and the service was very welcoming. A visit to the Harzer Schnitzelhaus and Harzer Waffelhaus is highly recommended if you're ever near Bad Sachsa. We received very friendly and competent service. The advice we received when we were undecided due to the wide variety of schnitzels and other dishes was also excellent. Our schnitzels, both Alsatian style and the Fanny Schnitzel, were incredibly delicious. Tender and crispy, and a generous portion. To our delight, the crisp salad was served beforehand, and the sauce was thankfully presented separately, not poured over the crispy schnitzel. We were pleasantly full, yet still managed to order a waffle: one with Greek yogurt, honey, and caramelized nuts, and the other with pistachio ice cream, marzipan cream, and a Mozartkugel (a type of Austrian chocolate). We could have eaten some Mozartkugeln on the way back to the car, but the waffle dessert perfectly rounded off our heavenly meal. With the bill, we received some sweets, and our Luna got an extra treat, because dogs are welcome guests and are treated just as warmly as their two-legged companions. Fresh water was brought to our table immediately, and there was also a snack waiting for us in the entrance area. The ambiance is also very inviting. A wonderful meal for us, and we'll be back again in just two days. December 4, 2025: The promised repeat visit was also a culinary delight: the Alsatian schnitzel with fried potatoes was excellent, and the Tyrolean schnitzel (a schnitzel topped with pear and cheese) with cranberries was a revelation. We were actually quite full, but a waffle with hot cinnamon plums and vanilla ice cream, as well as the waffle with marzipan cream, pistachio ice cream, and a Mozartkugel (a type of chocolate), still found room in our stomachs. Wow, that was top-notch! Incredibly hospitable, very attentive, and the food was second to none. From appetizers to main courses to desserts, it was a true culinary delight – top quality! The schnitzel looked as if it had been pounded just before frying. Thank you so much for serving the mushroom sauce separately and not drowning the schnitzel in it. All in all, the extra 65 km drive was well worth it, and we highly recommend it.

The dining room and restrooms are also very clean. The service is extremely friendly, approachable, and happy to help with any questions. We came here from Nordhausen based on previous reviews and will likely be back more often.

We visited this restaurant over the weekend. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Despite it being lunchtime, we were able to get a table for five without a reservation. The interior wasn't ultra-modern, but it was charming and functional. The cleanliness was impeccable. Our order was processed quickly and correctly. We all ordered waffles. The selection was huge, so our expectations were high, especially since the waffles were advertised everywhere. However, we were all disappointed. The value for money simply wasn't right for us. We received a rather bland heart-shaped waffle with powdered sugar, our chosen topping, and a little whipped cream. The Mozart waffle, for example, came with two halved Mozartkugeln (chocolate-covered marzipan balls) and a pistachio ice cream. One waffle was even burnt (but they promptly made a new one). It was okay, but we felt the price of around €12 was simply unreasonable.

The "Flaming Blacksmith's Flint" was also a highlight (it's schnapps). So, a full recommendation in every respect. ☺️

We had reserved a table for two for dinner and were given a lovely spot inside by one of the open patio doors. It was warm, and surprisingly, we didn't see anyone smoking on the terrace. We were already pleased with the progressive nature of this restaurant – no smoke on the outdoor terrace. But we were wrong: After a short time, three "Böhse Onkelz" fans arrived with their partners and immediately lit up cigarettes. And just like that, the fresh air was gone. What a shame. We closed the window, and other guests also asked for it to be closed, as the smoke was drifting into the dining room. Dear owners: Wouldn't it be nice if the majority didn't have to give in to the minority? The place seems to run perfectly well without cigarette smoke. Because the food was flawless. Beautifully presented, the sauces in separate glasses. The schnitzels (one Western schnitzel and one blueberry schnitzel) were delicious. The starter salad was excellent. The service was very attentive and friendly, despite the tables being fully occupied.

We were there with our dog and were impressed by the attentiveness and service. We were given a quieter spot and water for the dog. The schnitzel selection is extensive, and everything tasted delicious.

I agree with some of the previous speakers. The ambiance was very pleasant, as there was no music playing in the background. We only heard a cell phone conversation from the next table, which was a bit annoying, but that's not the restaurant's fault. The food was ordinary, nothing special. The croquettes and fries were frozen, and the highly praised schnitzel wasn't crispy, but rather lightly breaded... just like any housewife would prepare schnitzel (or perhaps better). I also felt the salad lacked a bit more acidity in the salad dressing.

I decided to stop in on the spur of the moment and, despite being busy, received prompt and reasonable service. The schnitzel is the star of the meal, and that's exactly what I expected. We had a reservation and got a very nice seat. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. There's a huge selection of schnitzels, and no request is too much. I had a delicious "Fanny" schnitzel with fried potatoes and a baked potato. My husband chose a schnitzel with pepper cream sauce, extra vegetables, and fried potatoes. Our daughter also had a schnitzel, and everything was delicious. Although we were already full, we couldn't resist the temptation of a fresh waffle for dessert. We really enjoyed the food and the cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended!

We were greeted warmly by a staff member, and our order was taken. When our food arrived, our daughter's dish was missing. I waited a moment, but when the food was brought to other tables after us, I asked if a plate had been left behind. The staff member said no, it would be right away. Despite passing by several times, neither the food nor a follow-up from her arrived. So I had to ask her again where the food was and whether she could please ask the kitchen. There was no response for several minutes, and then she finally returned with the plate. By then, the other three of us had already finished our meals. There was no apology either. The food was okay, but not worth a five-star rating. Average restaurant food. The waffles didn't come as Belgian waffles, but heart-shaped, and they were too soft inside for me.

There was no mention of a reservation requirement online, and it was great advertising on Google, so we arrived spontaneously for lunch. As a group of 13, we ventured out and wanted something to drink, something to eat, and a bit of a relaxed end to our family reunion. We could have sat outside, where, mind you, everything was free. Half the tables inside were empty. Our joy was immediately dashed at the counter. Instead of a friendly turn-down, we were laughed at, lectured, and then the unfriendly manager came along, making it unmistakably clear that we should leave. He didn't have any space available? Apparently, there are still enough people who wander in there, okay. As we all know, pride comes before a fall. Thankfully, there are still many small and large restaurants in town that embraced our spontaneous idea and were happy to welcome us. Our group can no longer go to the Harzer Schnitzelhaus.

Our expectations, based on the Google reviews, were high, and they were exceeded. From booking online to paying, everything went perfectly. The ambiance, the food, the drinks, and the hospitality were simply fantastic. The very attentive service even brought water for our dog, who was also very welcome. We had the Swiss and the garlic schnitzel, both of which arrived beautifully presented and tasted delicious. We're already looking forward to our next visit to enjoy more of the menu's delicacies. We had a delicious meal. We had schnitzel once, and the second time I opted for a potato waffle—very surprising and super delicious. Very friendly staff.

It's a lovely place to sit outside. The food wasn't bad; there's only one vegan dish. The schnitzel with a mustard crust was a bit dry, it was missing a sauce, and the hash browns were clearly not homemade. You have to be careful with the waffles if you don't want them drowned in the sauce you order. The service was a bit rude. Note for those who care: the menu has a racist label (see picture), and the restroom signs are also sexist. If you don't want to support this, you should eat somewhere else; everyone is free to do what they want.
