So, I hate waffles, but my girlfriend loves them. I have to eat what she can't finish. We're going back again tomorrow and I'll get myself a waffle then 😍 It's the first one that's actually tasted really good ☺️ For dinner, we had the cheese schnitzel, and that was also incredibly delicious. The "Flaming Blacksmith's Flint" was also a highlight (it's schnapps). So, a full recommendation in every respect. ☺️

We had reserved a table for two for dinner and were given a lovely spot inside by one of the open patio doors. It was warm, and surprisingly, we didn't see anyone smoking on the terrace. We were already pleased with the progressive nature of this restaurant – no smoke on the outdoor terrace. But we were wrong: After a short time, three "Böhse Onkelz" fans arrived with their partners and immediately lit up cigarettes. And just like that, the fresh air was gone. What a shame. We closed the window, and other guests also asked for it to be closed, as the smoke was drifting into the dining room. Dear owners: Wouldn't it be nice if the majority didn't have to give in to the minority? The place seems to run perfectly well without cigarette smoke. Because the food was flawless. Beautifully presented, the sauces in separate glasses. The schnitzels (one Western schnitzel and one blueberry schnitzel) were delicious. The starter salad was excellent. The service was very attentive and friendly, despite the tables being fully occupied.

Best waffles we've ever eaten. We had a waffle with a plantain and a poppy seed waffle with ice cream. There's something for everyone. Very friendly service in a cozy restaurant. We'll definitely come back to try the schnitzel next time.

The food is delicious, and the waffles are highly recommended. The schnitzels are truly homemade, and there's a huge selection. You can also choose from over 60 different waffle varieties. The service is friendly and attentive. They even thought of our dogs, providing a bowl of water and a treat at the end.

Children are also taken into consideration here, with a great coloring menu with a good selection for little ones. The menu for adults offers a wide variety of schnitzels and pasta. The waffle selection is excellent, and the waffles themselves are incredibly delicious.

A very nice atmosphere with truly delicious food. I had a schnitzel topped with pear and cheese, served with cranberries, and it was simply fantastic. My husband also said his meal was very good. The waffle with hot cinnamon plums was also very, very tasty.

I agree with some of the previous speakers. The ambiance was very pleasant, as there was no music playing in the background. We only heard a cell phone conversation from the next table, which was a bit annoying, but that's not the restaurant's fault. The food was ordinary, nothing special. The croquettes and fries were frozen, and the highly praised schnitzel wasn't crispy, but rather lightly breaded... just like any housewife would prepare schnitzel (or perhaps better). I also felt the salad lacked a bit more acidity in the salad dressing.

I decided to stop in on the spur of the moment and, despite being busy, received prompt and reasonable service. The schnitzel is the star of the meal, and that's exactly what I expected. The portion size was adequate and the flavor was good. The ambiance and service were also very reasonable. Prices were reasonable. I can recommend it without hesitation.

We had a reservation and got a very nice seat. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. There's a huge selection of schnitzels, and no request is too much. I had a delicious "Fanny" schnitzel with fried potatoes and a baked potato. My husband chose a schnitzel with pepper cream sauce, extra vegetables, and fried potatoes. Our daughter also had a schnitzel, and everything was delicious. Although we were already full, we couldn't resist the temptation of a fresh waffle for dessert. We really enjoyed the food and the cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended!

We were greeted warmly by a staff member, and our order was taken. When our food arrived, our daughter's dish was missing. I waited a moment, but when the food was brought to other tables after us, I asked if a plate had been left behind. The staff member said no, it would be right away. Despite passing by several times, neither the food nor a follow-up from her arrived. So I had to ask her again where the food was and whether she could please ask the kitchen. There was no response for several minutes, and then she finally returned with the plate. By then, the other three of us had already finished our meals. There was no apology either. The food was okay, but not worth a five-star rating. Average restaurant food. The waffles didn't come as Belgian waffles, but heart-shaped, and they were too soft inside for me.

Quick, uncomplicated dinner with friendly staff

A wonderful experience for the whole family – we'd love to come back! We visited the restaurant as a family and had a very pleasant stay overall. The table was well-placed, the service friendly and attentive – we felt welcome from the start. The short wait for the food was particularly positive. Our children were also taken care of: the provided art supplies were a great idea and kept them occupied while we waited for the food. The food itself was consistently delicious and the portions generous – everyone was full and satisfied. Dessert also met our expectations, although the wait was a little longer than for the main course. We rate the value for money 4 out of 5 stars – overall, a very good experience. We'd love to come back!

There was no mention of a reservation requirement online, and it was great advertising on Google, so we arrived spontaneously for lunch. As a group of 13, we ventured out and wanted something to drink, something to eat, and a bit of a relaxed end to our family reunion. We could have sat outside, where, mind you, everything was free. Half the tables inside were empty. Our joy was immediately dashed at the counter. Instead of a friendly turn-down, we were laughed at, lectured, and then the unfriendly manager came along, making it unmistakably clear that we should leave. He didn't have any space available? Apparently, there are still enough people who wander in there, okay. As we all know, pride comes before a fall. Thankfully, there are still many small and large restaurants in town that embraced our spontaneous idea and were happy to welcome us. Our group can no longer go to the Harzer Schnitzelhaus.

We've visited the Harz Mountains several times before, but never the Harzer Schnitzelhaus. It was our last evening, and we wanted a nice end to our vacation. What can I say? Our expectations, based on the Google reviews, were high, and they were exceeded. From booking online to paying, everything went perfectly. The ambiance, the food, the drinks, and the hospitality were simply fantastic. The very attentive service even brought water for our dog, who was also very welcome. We had the Swiss and the garlic schnitzel, both of which arrived beautifully presented and tasted delicious. We're already looking forward to our next visit to enjoy more of the menu's delicacies. Many thanks to the team at the Harzer Schnitzelhaus for making our stay so perfect!

After a long drive, I went to the Harzer Schnitzelhaus this evening. I highly recommend it. The food is incredibly delicious. The service is very friendly, and the ambiance is also very pleasant. May take a little longer during peak times

It's a lovely place to sit outside. The food wasn't bad; there's only one vegan dish. The schnitzel with a mustard crust was a bit dry, it was missing a sauce, and the hash browns were clearly not homemade. You have to be careful with the waffles if you don't want them drowned in the sauce you order. The service was a bit rude. Note for those who care: the menu has a racist label (see picture), and the restroom signs are also sexist. If you don't want to support this, you should eat somewhere else; everyone is free to do what they want.

Very expensive. Unfortunately, the price/performance ratio is completely out of proportion. I'm disappointed in that regard. The service, however, is excellent. If only price/performance counted, it would be 2-3 points.

We had an excellent meal here. I particularly want to highlight the side salad. It included zucchini, corn, and a fantastic dressing. Truly delicious. We can't comment on the waffles, because after an excellent cordon bleu, we couldn't fit anything else in.

We ate at this restaurant several times during a midweek stay in the Harz region. The food was good and tasty, and reasonably priced.

Very delicious food and friendly, attentive service. We tried the BBQ currywurst with bacon and onions, topped with cheese. Delicious.👍 Reservations are recommended for the evening, though. The following day, we easily got a seat at 4 p.m. and tried the Harzer Roller (bread crust, onions, and Harzer cheese) and the Jäger (hunter's) schnitzel. Again, an absolutely delicious experience. The delicious mushroom sauce was served in a separate pot and not slopped over the breading. Great.👍😋😋 We highly recommend the Schnitzelhaus.

We went there spontaneously without a reservation and got a table. The waiters were all very friendly and attentive. There were special children's menus for the children to color in, which distracted them while they waited. The schnitzels were all very tasty. The portions were big enough to fill you up. Everything came separately but attractively presented on the plate. The sauce is in a separate container, so the fries and schnitzel stay crispy and tasty. If you like it soft, you can soak it yourself. The Harzer Roller Schnitzel is particularly amazing in my opinion. If you like Harzer cheese, you should try it. The price is appropriate for current restaurant prices. We paid just under €110 for 3 main courses + 1 children's meal, 4 large and 3 small drinks. But we think it's fair for what you get. It's worth a visit.

It was simply awful. The food was poor quality and tasteless. How can you name your restaurant that and then serve such unbelievably bad schnitzels? The salad was borderline mediocre. Classic tourist rip-off. Stay away.

We were on a hiking tour today and stopped at the Schnitzelhaus. Regarding the restaurant: someone has a passion for decorating, which is a bit kitschy but fits the ambiance perfectly and makes it cozy. The service staff was very friendly and competent. Delicious food and great service

Four of us were there today with our dog. I had accidentally reserved for the next day, but we still got a table. A water bowl was immediately brought for the dog, and as we left, each guest received a treat. The waiter then came back with a treat for the dog and said he'd almost forgotten the treat. Never experienced such a dog-friendly restaurant before. The food was truly delicious, and you could choose turkey schnitzel instead of pork schnitzel. All in all, a lovely evening; we'd gladly come back.

Considering it's supposed to be a schnitzel restaurant, our group was served a Jägerschnitzel without being asked for another option. The food, however, was delicious.
