If you want a really awesome burger, a really, really good burger, Then go to Burgerliebling in Mainz. It's like night and day.

Unfortunately, I've been served disappointingly bad food several times. For example, despite asking for it to be prepared without onions, the burgers contained a ton of onions.

I was there with my friend. She ordered a "classic burger (hamburger)" with "kartoffel chips" and "vanilla matcha lemonade". I ordered a "grilled chicken burger (Elter Gockle)" with fries and "Blueberry mint ice tea." The next time I was there I ordered the same burger but "peach lemon ice tea" and my friend ordered a spicy vegetarian burger (I forgot the name). The hamburger that my friend ordered was okay, tasted like every other cliche hamburger, therefore was overpriced I'd say (10 euros). My burger costed me almost 13 euros but was really good, I liked it a lot, the mushroom sauce was very tasty, and the hashbrown in it gave really nice flavour. Overall I loved that burger. I ordered it with multi grain bread bun, which I liked the best among all their buns as well. Now regarding drinks, the matcha vanilla lemonade tasted good to me, though my friend said she cant really taste the vanilla, which was kinda true but still not bad. I had a bit of an issue with ice teas, my blueberry mint ice tea didnt have much flavour, I believe it should have a lil bit of lemon water or syrup to enhance the flavour. Same goes for my peach lemon ice tea, I order this one thinking it will have more lemon flavour, since it was written and I wanted lemon flavour but the thing was that there were only lemon slices on top, there was no lemon flavour. A squeeze of lemon or lemon syrup would again work nicely here! Overall not bad! Just a lil over priced cause the burgers don't come with sides. You have to pay almost 5 euros more for the sides. Still, I'd recommend it, cause it was nice. The interior was quite pretty as well.

The restaurant is nice, but even though I waited 30 minutes, no one took my order. In Germany, it's difficult for employees to work on Sundays. They charge extra for Sundays. I didn't get to eat, so I can't comment on that. The staff needs to be careful.

I realized I didn't rate my first visit in 2023. So here's a follow-up entry: September 14, 2023 The food and drinks were excellent, and the staff were attentive and friendly. January 28, 2025 This time, the waitress was very friendly and attentive and took my suggestion seriously (of course, I can't say whether she passed it on). But more on that later. This time, there were only two of us for dinner. The restaurant was relatively busy, and the two waitresses were busy. As mentioned at the beginning, the waitress was still very attentive. When we entered the restaurant, she immediately came and offered us a table by the window (table 12). Although the door remained open throughout our entire stay, there was no draft inside and it didn't get cold at all. She kindly took our order, and after a short wait, the drinks arrived. They were good and exactly as we had imagined. After about another 20 minutes, our food arrived. The burgers were delicious, but my "market barker" didn't have enough truffle mayo on them in my opinion. Luckily, there are various sauces available at every table, and thanks to the damn delicious "grill sauce," I saved my burger. The golden fries were fantastic, just like the "fries sauce." The coleslaw was GREAT!!!, but unfortunately, there was too little dressing. When I was finished and turned the bowl over, it was dry and not a single drop ran down anywhere. WHAT A BAD! I would have liked a little more dressing to mix in the rest at the end. When the waitress came to clear away, she naturally asked if I enjoyed it. In response to my comment about what I just mentioned, she said she would have gladly served me more dressing if I had said something. And that she would pass on the truffle mayo. That's exactly how a waitress should be: listening, offering alternatives, and taking suggestions or criticism (constructive criticism, not blah) seriously. TOP 👍👍👍 After paying, we left the restaurant, only to return about 10 minutes later, the five of us. Unfortunately, the other waitress told us that the kitchen was already closed. When we asked if we could just have a drink, she said the bar was also closed. Our waitress was standing next to us and was obviously very uncomfortable with the whole situation. She certainly wouldn't have acted so fussy. But nevertheless, it was a very nice evening, and we felt well looked after. Hence this 5-star rating (especially because of our perfect waitress), even though we weren't allowed back in at the end. We will definitely come back and are already looking forward to the next time. September 25, 2025 It was, as always, very delicious and cozy. I spent a lovely evening with my wife.

The food is delicious, but unfortunately, there aren't enough staff. We waited an hour for drinks, despite asking. The food arrived after 1.5 hours. Tip for the manager: allow fewer guests if you can't handle the workload.

Good place to eat burgers in Mainz. Planty of options for vegetarian and vegan people. The burgers, sweet potatoes fries and drinks were really tasty. But prices are really high for a menu (25€). We've been there two years ago and prices were much cheaper.

The benches and corners behind the cushions are extremely dirty. The lamps are held in place with tape. There are holes in the ceiling. The faucet in the restroom is broken.

The waiter, Vane, was very friendly and accommodating, something that's highly appreciated in restaurants. Thank you for the delicious food and the warm welcome.

I've visited this place several times over the last 7-9 years. The atmosphere is great, but unfortunately a bit uncomfortable due to the benches. The menu has been updated, which I think is a great thing. I have the feeling the multigrain bun has changed a bit, or at least it seems that way to me. My favorite is the Eitler Rockel (Empty Rooster). Recently, something was missing that I can't put my finger on. The truffle fries were a total joke. The leaf pieces on top were completely unnecessary and inappropriate. The portion for €8 was truly ridiculous. It was as if they were trying to cover it up with the salad. Considering that burgers are currently very trendy and other restaurants offer larger portions for the same price, you should think about it a bit. It's a real shame, I have to say. I'm not spending almost €40 on that anymore.

This is my third time at a "HiG." I was pleasantly surprised both times! The third time, they were out of fries. Hello?! The food was good overall, and the staff was friendly. But fries with your burger are a must!

After a somewhat longer wait, we received two burgers, both of which were cold. Nevertheless, I'm giving them four stars because it's worth emphasizing that our server handled the situation very professionally and friendly. After a short while, we received two more burgers, which were very tasty this time. Mistakes like this happen... but we still left the restaurant satisfied.

The burger was delicious but very small (the burger patty was very thin for the price, like a McDonald's patty). I couldn't really enjoy it because we had a table under what seemed to be the only speaker, which gave me a headache from the rattling coming out of it. The iced tea was okay. The restroom was very clean. Okay for a one-time experience, but I won't be coming back.

I came as a tourist for a walk in Mainz. On the recommendation of my cousin from Worms who visits Hans im Gluück every time she comes for a walk in Mainz, she warmly recommended Hans in Mainz. Definitely a great place, with such trees and flowers. Our waiter was a young and nice guy named Vane. He asked us if we wanted to sit outside or inside, we decided outside. He explained the whole menu to us and how it works at Hans. I am totally satisfied with the ambiance and the staff.

This is my first time here, but I'm very satisfied. Great atmosphere, great burgers, and very attentive staff. Our server, Vane, was very nice and gave us a great recommendation. I wanted to try the Smash Burger, but Vane recommended the lunch menu, featuring a Double Smash Burger with extra avocado, egg, and bacon, a sweet potato side, and a thirst-quenching dragon fruit, guava, and lime. My girlfriend had the Bravur Salad with an extra egg. The food was delicious and very tasty. We'll definitely see you again.

Today, after a stroll through the Johannesfest, my friends and I were hungry and decided to go to Hans im Glück Mainz because they have delicious burgers. They truly were. The food was great, the atmosphere too, but most importantly, our server, Vane, was so attentive and friendly to the guests that we'll definitely be seeing him again.

Last night, I went to "Hans im Glück" with two other friends. I ordered the triple smash burger with fries on the side. My friends ordered the Birkenwald Burger and the Meisterwerk Burger. We also had the Champion Bowl, which the three of us ate together. We really liked the ambiance. The service was also very friendly. But we had to give a special shout-out to the kitchen staff. All three of us liked the way the burgers and bowls were prepared so much that we asked the waitress to pass it on to the kitchen. She did, and then the kitchen staff came over and thanked us for the feedback. After a brief conversation, we learned his name: Murat. So, if you ever decide to eat there, you won't be disappointed, especially if the food is prepared by Murat.

The quality of the food has declined considerably over the past year, despite rising prices. Unfortunately, the salad wasn't fresh, and neither was the burger bun. One of the worst experiences I've ever had. I ordered a cheeseburger to take away, and when I got home, the bun was stale and hard. The burger smelled off and tasted awful. I was very disappointed.

The dude in the counter sit us in a really not nice table, even though we ask to be somewhere else. The person who takes the order didn’t came at all until after 45min, when we asked, not even to ask for drinks or anything, and he got really pissed when we asked him about it. So we decided to left the place. Never again here. And you guys should check in the personal you’re hiring, because it’s really making away people off the restaurant.

There was actually no drink refill and after the complaint there was an apple strudel strip with no taste as an apology... and the table wasn't cleared even though it was now pretty empty outside... no idea what was going on in Mainz but that was just bad from A to Z... we will avoid it here in Mainz for now... until everything is correct again... Hans was more unlucky than lucky... tip canceled... but rightly so...
