Hangmee Exotiq Finest Asian Food in Berlin

I ordered here via uber eats and what arrived here is absolutely awesome, I ordered the ped hangmee and the tom yum chao krung soup with shrimp. The ped hangmee, which is a dish with duck, was delivered with tofu (although you couldn't even choose that so I don't assume that anything got mixed up) - that's not the end of the world but when I put the 2 prawns in When I saw my soup, one of which was completely rotten, I lost faith, the hair in the ped hangmee did the rest for me, just cheeky, really...

Absolute disaster. The one in the picture is supposed to be a glass noodle salad. It's just full of iceberg lettuce. The chicken is extremely gristly and you really couldn't eat it. No recommendation

Very tasty and a perfect portion size to try lots of different things. Very good as a group or just as a couple. But you shouldn't order too much at once, otherwise some things will get cold. It's better to do it more often throughout the evening. Thai iced tea was very authentic!

I had Khao Soi, which is supposed to be a Northern Thai coconut curry soup. It reminds me of laksa, so like a Thai version of laksa? It was definitely very yummy. Food was so good that I couldn't help but order the sticky rice dessert. And goodness, it was delicious. It really brought back childhood memories. Aside from the amazing food, staff were super friendly. I enjoyed the big smiles everyone had on such a cold day. Thank you!

My new favourite place! Totally authentic and very affordable. I came for lunch on a Tuesday. The atmosphere was nice friendly and a little busy but I immediately got a seat. I knew I wanted to try the Nam Tok (a spicy Beef salad) and I was pleasantly surprised that it was contained in one of the lunch combos along with a chicken win with dipping sauce and a creamy chicken curry, a serve of perfect rice and a big leaf Laotian tea. Everything together was €12 which is incredible value. I sat directly in front of the open kitchen and quietly got a few looks of a very clean and organised service from a happy and motivated team lead by a very professional looking female chef expediting. There were some nice words written on the wall about their passion for food. One line reads “we cook with love and we love to cook” what a lovey happy experience. I definitely remembered to tip!

Pretty ok food. A little expensive for what it is, but everything is like that in that area. Atmosphere was pretty nice. Busy, but in a cozy way. Service was a little baffling. When asked about vegan options the waiter just kinda shrugged??

A very tasty first impression. Definitely a lot of different meat-focused specials on the menu. The sauces and curries were very convincing. Some of the tapas portions are a bit too small. Unfortunately, the service was a bit inattentive (drinks forgotten, one dish too many on the bill). Everything was solvable and very nice to deal with. But there is still room for improvement!

i didn’t know soy sauce is free here, the Mie Korat (33) tastes nothing but soy sauce. salty, moist i presume that’s their definition or “fried noodles”. after complaining one of the waiters lectured me how this dish was supposed to have tons of soy sauce in it like i’ve never had this dish before. it was literally salty like pasta water

Lots of tasty dishes. They are small portioned (but affordable)- so get several, and share. Staff and atmosphere are also nice!

Valid place in Friedrichshain. Different options for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. There are both options with smaller portions (great for sharing) and other first courses, with more generous portions. If you have company and want to have a fairly filling dinner, you should share a little something but also get a main for yourself. Prices are reasonable. 5.9 on average for the small ones and 13 for the main ones. The quality isn't incredible but it commands respect. Very friendly staff and cozy place. If you pass by, think about it but don't expect the dinner of a lifetime.

I have been to this wonderful restaurant hundreds of times. The food is (almost) always “excellent” I never had any problems with the service, on the contrary, it was also “excellent” in the vast majority of cases. The atmosphere was also exceptional a few years ago (at the opening) and could be considered “excellent”. However, there is now an urgent need to catch up here (keyword: sanitary facilities). All in all, for me one of the best Asian restaurants in the neighborhood, if not the best. Best regards to the chef at table 503 My favorites: Moo Ping (wonderfully seasoned pork skewers) Gaeng Chaplu (Best Coconut Curry with Pepper Leaves) Pad Prik Khing Pad Grua Gling Tom Yum Chao Krung In addition, there are many very interesting dishes from the “ISAAN” region, i.e. the EAST or north-east of the nation - people like to eat spicy here. If you also want to eat spicy, don't forget to mention this when ordering when you're there for the first time.

It used to be very good. Many dishes are no longer offered and the quality has significantly deteriorated. The store looks run down and there is no investment. The new menu blew us away, especially when it came to the drink prices. A bottle of water costs just under 8 euros, 0.4 cola costs 4.80 euros, completely insane!

The food is actually great, as someone who grew up in Asia. But service can be terrible. I called once for a take-away order, they said they will prepare it in 20-30 minutes. So i arrived 25 mins later, they were still preparing, and i waited another 25 minutes! Most likely they didn't even prepare it. And when paying, i confirmed the exact amount, and the waiter was hesitant and waited a while to type in the numbers - as if he was expecting a tip 🤦which is very funny, you made me wait for that long plus you didn't serve me a table, and had the audacity to think you deserve gratuity?

It's our favourite restaurant in Berlin because of its location, variety and service. Better booking in advance!

Overall, definitely a clear recommendation 👍

If i could give 6 stars, i would. Amazing food, i dare say best thai/lao food ive tried outside of thailand. Service slow sometimes but its alrighht. Their lunch menu is an amazing deal, they give you a lot of food.

UPDATE: Today the dishes were not up to usual standards. There was misproportion; too much of iceberg salad and too little of fish and other herbs in the bowl. Very good. Testy, spot on well make good Asian flavours. Very good value for your money. I will be back there many times.

YUM.. I enjoyed my food so much I didn't even take a single photo.. Friends and I were having dinner and just genuinely catching up and we decided to a fav of theirs and it didn't disappoint.. We ate family style and each item we got was really very good.. my fav was actually the chicken wings with the summer roll.. not sure why but a bite of each with the sauce in the middle was AMAZING.. I have officially joined the club on this spot🤤

Amazing business lunch offer, but I've been back a few times and love to share the small dishes with someone. The food is delicious and there are so many great flavors to try it's wonderful to have a few plates to enjoy in one sitting.

If you like Vietnamese, Asian and spicy but also sweet and sour, this is the place for you. The service is quick and the food is tasty. Seats can be found inside and outside. Orders can also be placed here for outside the home. For a small snack or a longer stay, the restaurant in the Friedrichshain neighborhood is recommended.

One shouldn't spend 12 eur and still be hungry. The food is also quite oily and just seems like bad quality

Jujuju is delicious. I ordered 1, 4, 20, 21 and a dessert. All are delicious and not expensive. The milk tea is also delicious.

This place used to serve really tasty and fresh food. But our last visit left us disappointed. No coriander or fresh herbs in any of the dishes, but an abundance of tasteless cut lettuce. The dumplings used to come freshly steamed and very hot in a small bamboo steamer, now they came luke warm sticky on the same sad lettuce leaves. The old zingy flavor was nowhere to be found. Sadly.

Very tasty food! There are a lot of dishes to choose from. Everything tasted very good and was prepared fairly quickly. The portions were a bit too small for my personal taste. The service was very nice and attentive. The restaurant has a very cute interior and you can also sit outside. There's a bit of a smell outside though so it was a bit uncomfortable while eating, but there's nothing they can do about that. I would definitely recommend the curries. There were also some vegan options.

Hangmee was one of my favorite restaurants in BLN for many years. Until yesterday. We were a group of 4 and we ordered many small bowls to share. In one of them I found a dead fly. Big one and it looked completely frozen, which means it didn’t just fall from the sky in the moment. I went inside and I showed it to one of the employees and he said, I quote, “that’s not good” and he took the bowl. I went outside and ate the rest of my food with my friends. They brought me a new empty bowl and chopsticks. Not new dish that I gave them, a new empty bowl. At the end, when it was time to pay, the waitress said she wont charge me one bowls of rice (2€) cuz I found a dead fly in my food??? I asked if she’s serious? She looked at me shocked and said ok, she won’t charge for the dish where the fly was. I don’t know about others, but if I would be the owner or employee at that restaurant, I’d apologise like 10 times and definitely not charge for a part or maybe the whole meal. But this girl offering me a free bowl of rice was insulting tbh. And yeah, dead flies in the food are obviously a no no

Favorite Asian place in F-Hain. Dishes are tapas-style, but portions are actually quite generous (two per person was enough for us). Not very spicy, even when marked with chili signs, but very flavorful. Personal favorites: 22 (grilled beef with chili, lime and herbs), 32 (crispy duck) and khao soi (just amazing!). Chicken (23, 31), chicken skin, crispy prawns, Gaeng Laos with crispy chicken and pak choi were good too. So-so: 32 (spare ribs). The ones I didn't like that much: 21 (papaya salad), 15 (Laotian sausage), Isaan wings - had much better versions of these dishes in Thailand.

Simple but very good cuisine. Dishes can be put together from individual elements. Good for a relaxed lunch.

The Moo Ping is better than any I’ve had in Thailand it's very tender and flavorful. Don’t miss the Boat Noodle Soup the broth is very rich !

The best - amazing food. Its like being back in Thailand. We ordered several "tapas" to share and they were all super tasty. Really recommend the food here - its in a nice area, trendy hood, so ideal to eat here on a weekend and then continue walking around the area. To improve - we were there on a very busy day, so service was a bit stressed. They mixed our order and forgot something. We were fine because we love this place and had plenty of time but be aware of this in case you are in a rush. Despite the stress, the guys working there are lovely. Tip: if you are going on a weekend, i would recommend making a reservation

We always go for lunch. They have a lunch Menu with 3 different items. It’s a lot of food and it comes with meat or vegetarian plus they also serve you water or tea. Service is super nice and food comes quick. It’s delicious.

Hello new go to restaurant 🫶 during the week there is a lunch menu here for currently 12 euros with three small dishes and a cup of tea. Highly, highly recommended. The food was very tasty and the vibe is very authentic.

We haven't tried much here yet but we will definitely do so. You can sit outside and inside here. The waitresses are really nice and the food is absolutely delicious. I can highly recommend "Giau Thod".

Best authentic Thai place in Berlin? I think it could be...amazing varied dishes and complex flavours. And I love the tapas concept so you get to try lots of different stuff. Also lots of SE Asians eating here, which must be a good sign.

The only place we visited 3 times during our short vacation. Rich flavours, very affordable, portions are just fine. Number 30 is my favorite, be sure to try it.

It's a bit grubby and reminds me of street food shops, but the food is a real treat. So if you're not too fancy you won't be disappointed here.

Went for a quick lunch with a friend. Good place for south East Asian food. Portions aren’t huge so perfect for sharing and for ordering few stuff. Khao Grapau, Sai Oua and Laab Isaan were my favourite — I like it spicy! 🌶️. Most of the dishes are. Maybe a bit too much of coriander everywhere which I’m not such a fan of. Staff is nice and explains the dishes if you have questions. ambience is also calm and pleasant. They have dishes that no one else have. Laotian restaurant aren’t common!!! Lunch menu available. Definitely worth a try!

Unfortunately, the food is somewhat dominated by industrial flavors, which overshadow the sometimes special dishes (in the best sense of the word). But also to be expected in this price range. In service, a well-filled glass with twice the amount of the order is often served and of course billed accordingly, incorrect orders are not corrected and an invoice is not presented. This is completely in line with the average catering industry in the capital. This is a shame, especially because things were much better, especially when it came to service.

I really like the Tappas concept. However, the taste of the creations didn't really convince me. None of the 6 dishes we tried were a real failure, but unfortunately there weren't any that impressed us either. Overall just average. In my opinion, there are much better options in the area - also with a very similar concept of small dishes to share. However, the service employees were friendly, motivated and did a good job.

Favorite restaurant in F-Hain. The tapas concept is great, the cocktails are great and I have never eaten such delicious and varied Asian food. A wonderful taste explosion that always leaves you wanting more.
