We have known the Hanauer Tor for a long time under the previous owner and we were always very satisfied there. My wife likes to eat chicken, which is what the restaurant is known for. But of course you can also get other good food there, such as schnitzel, meatloaf, etc. At the end of 2024 we were looking for a suitable location for my birthday and thought we would test the restaurant with the new owner and his team. So we ate there and loved it. So we reserved a table and the birthday was a complete success, thanks to the help of the new owner. We had a lot of fun and I even got a sweatshirt from Hanauer Tor as a gift, which is great quality and I enjoy wearing it. Thank you again to everyone at Hanauer Tor and see you again in 2025. LG

Even though we didn't have our own reservation, we were greeted warmly and given a table despite the huge occupancy. The ambience in the front area of ​​the inn is wonderfully pleasantly homely in its authentic rustic half-timbered style. The service employee was very attentive and competent with a constant smile. You feel that she enjoys what she does and this is very pleasant for the guest. The dishes are not only large in quantity, but also of high quality and excellently prepared. I've traveled a lot around the world, but I think I've rarely eaten such an excellent steak with onions. Once again we felt completely comfortable. The prices are not only appropriate for the offering of this quality and quantity and the services provided, but can even be viewed as affordable. It would perhaps be an advantage to have 1-2 starter soups on offer, as well as desserts such as ice cream for children. A selection of different types of coffee such as espresso or cappuccino would also not be a bad idea. But these are suggestions for the absolute top drawer. We will always be happy to come back and can recommend the restaurant unconditionally.

So I don't know how to start writing now, but well, step by step: We were here at Hanauer Tor for the first time in the summer and everything was really perfect! No sooner said than done, we went there for the second time and from then on the horror began. We had waited over an hour for the food. There really wasn't much going on and then the boss came and told us that his kitchen staff and waitress had had a good party yesterday and that's why they didn't start their work and that they were totally overwhelmed by today's situation. As compensation we received a voucher for €20 and gave it again for another chance. Well today, after a month later, it was time again to redeem this voucher. To our regret, we waited another hour for the food and the schnitzel simply tasted completely like fat. Then came the absolute highlight, the side salad, which was an absolute joke. Which was served completely carelessly with a few lettuce leaves and a dollop of ready-made sauce. Then I went to the older gentleman behind the counter and expressed my displeasure. With his eyes slightly turned, he just looked at me and said to me very seriously: If I don't like the stuff, I should just leave the crap. OHA, that was an announcement in front of all the guests. That's what we did and we went home without paying and on an empty stomach. But I have proven one thing to him: if they continue like this, the Hanauer Gate will be closed by 2025 at the latest!! The restaurant was by far the biggest disappointment for me in 2024!! One star as a minimum for the rating is still not enough. It's a shame for the inn but the current operators simply don't deserve the Hanauer Tor inn!!

We visited the Hanauer Tor for the first time at the recommendation of a colleague and were not disappointed. During the week, the rustic restaurant inside was very busy, a reservation is recommended (if you manage to arrive by phone 🙄). The food tasted good, the portion sizes are almost impossible for normal stomachs. Our HT schnitzel, for example, consisted of 2 schnitzels with mushrooms, onions and 2 fried eggs. The side salad was fresh and also very good. There was already a grill plate from the crowd at the table next to the grill plate. The chicken also looked very tasty and smelled good. The female waitress was really running around, but had everything under control. For us, the price-performance ratio was right, the food was tasty, so there are no obstacles in the way of another visit.

We had dinner there this evening with nine people. We were able to sit outside, the service was very quick, and we all really enjoyed the food. Normally not even one star is deserved for this promotion! On Saturday we ordered by phone with the whole family. I asked on the phone if there was pork on it. The answer was no, a beef patty. Then I asked if there was no bacon or anything on it. The answer was no, it would be a completely normal burger Cucumber Tomato Onion Cheese Meat. Then the food came 2 bites into the burger and then there was bacon on it!!! We then tried to call Hanauer Tor so that a new burger might be delivered. We tried to call 25 times and no one answered the phone, so one of them had no food! This is an absolute disgrace. Then we called on Sunday and the colleague on the phone said we were sorry, it was busy, he wrote down our number and the boss would get back to us personally and a solution would be found. It's now Wednesday and still no one has answered, so we called again and were brushed off again. The restaurant would have been closed on Monday and the boss would be out of town. JUICE SHOP!!!!!!!!!!

Das beste Jägerschnitzel dass ich seit langem gegessen habe. Der Service war sehr nett und freundlich. Das Ambiente passt super zum angebotenen Essen. Auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert.

Sehr lange Wartezeiten auf Getränke 15-20 min. zzgl. 1.5 Stunden für das Essen. Leider wurde erst als das Essen gebracht wurde etwas zu der sehr langen Wartezeit gesagt. So etwas kann immer passieren aber Gäste hinzuhalten geht gar nicht. Das sollte der Gast selbst entscheiden ob er so lange warten möchte. Abgesehen davon das ich das von sooo vielen hochgelobte Hähnchen bestellt hatte...es war dunkel dunkel braun, kam aus der Fritöse ....und war mehr als trocken. Für mich war es ein Frechheit so etwas zu servieren. Das schlechteste Hähnchen das ich je gegessen habe.

Absolut Top Speisen. Schnitzel nur zu empfehlen. Leider ist das Ambiente weder im Gastraum noch im Hof ansprechend. Hier passt die Qualität des Essens nicht mit dem Ambiente überein. Die Bedienung der Service ist leider sehr oft überfordert.

Gut besuchtes Lokal mit freundlicher Bedienung. Eine Reservierung ist empfehlenswert. Das Essen ist gut und qualitativ in Ordnung. Preis Leistung passt, die Portionen sind gigantisch. Wir sind zügig bedient worden, dass Essen hat auch nicht lange benötigt. Wir sind zufrieden. Können es definitiv empfehlen.

Ich hatte vor längerer Zeit fünf Punkte bewertet und das Lokal hochgelobt. Diese Bewertung muss ich revidieren. Vor unserem Besuch fragten wir an, ob das Lokal ausreichend beheizt sei. Dies wurde zugesichert. Vorgefunden haben wir einen kalten Gastraum nicht über 19 Grad. Die Jacken haben wir also schnell wieder angezogen. Ein älteres Ehepaar an unserem Tisch empfand es auch als Zumutung, die Gäste so in die Kälte zu setzen. Zum Essen: Früher waren die 1/2 Hähnchen das Aushängeschild des Lokals. Super lecker bei fairem Preis. Was jetzt auf den Teller kommt, hat das Format Stubenküken, die Pommes waren HART, entweder zu lange oder zweimal frittiert. Insgesamt enttäuschte das Essen. Ein erwachsener Mann wird davon auch kaum satt. Dafür stieg der Preis auf 13,90 EUR, was angesichts der kulinarischen Leistung, des unterkühlten Gastraumes, des recht forschen Mundwerkes der Bedienung und des einfachen Ambientes nicht gerechtfertigt ist.

Einfach mega, waren vor Wochen dort und sind jetzt jede Woche fest an unserem Stammplatz. Essen so gut, einfach Wahnsinn!!! Super Ambiente. Freue mich immer auf den Abend 👍 Man kann auch alle Gerichte mitnehmen, für den Hunger, der mich Nachts noch überfällt 🙈🤣

Hier geht man nicht hin, wenn man in ein Restaurant will, sondern wenn man ein gut bürgerliches Gasthaus besuchen möchte. Die Atmosphäre ist urig und traditionell. Das Personal freundlich und aufmerksam. Essen ist gut und schmackhaft. Natürlich gibt es in einem solchen Gasthaus Punkte, die sich auf Grund des historischen Gebäudes ergeben wie z.B. akustische Verhältnisse, einfache Toiletten u.ä. Insgesamt ist der Besuch dort gemütlich und zu empfehlen, wer etwas uriges sucht.

Tolle Urige Kneipe die leider nicht mehr so häufig zu finden sind. Schöne Bier Auswahl. Hier bekommt ihr definitiv das beste Hähnchen was ihr jemals gegessen habt, normal Gewürzt,mittel scharf gewürzt oder scharf gewürzt, für alle was dabei. Die Pommes sind ebenfalls schön knusprig. Schnitzel und Bürger sehen auch sehr gut und lecker aus.

Mich hatte am Anfang die Preise der Speisen abgeschreckt, dachte mir das ust aber ganz schön happig........ABER als ich dann sah, welche Portionen ich dafür bekomme und dazu noch welche Qualität, ich muß gestehen das ich begeistert war! Also, lasst euch nicht vom Preis abschrecken, die Qualität und die Portionen sind es wert. Die Bedienung versteht ihr Handwerk, schnell und zuvorkommend, dazu sehr freundlich und witzig. Alles in allem lohnt sich ein Besuch auf jeden Fall!!!

Waren schon zum zweiten Male mit unserer Weihnachtsfeier hier. Top Service, obwohl es voll war. Essen sehr lecker, egal welches Gericht, besonders die Pommes. Die Portionen sind so üppig das man eine Tupperdose braucht. Ich komme auf alle Fälle wieder.

Nicht zu empfehlen. Unser Essen war einfach nur fettig und absolute Massenware. Bedienung äußerst unfreundlich. Dieses 0815 Lokal sieht uns nicht mehr wieder.

Für mich der Begriff einer urigen Kneipe. Die alten Fachwerkbalken vermitteln Wärme. Die Gäste freundlich und gesprächsbereit.
