Halong in Kaiserslautern

This is the best meal I’ve had in a while. Probably my new favorite spot for Asian food in the area. It’s a small restaurant, but it’s laid out so you don’t feel so cramped like many local places. The flavor of the curry absolutely blew me away. It wasn’t too spicy, but just the right amount to complement the flavor of the rest of the food. I highly recommend this place when walking through town.

Vermutlich eingedeutschte Küche. Essen halbkalt und geschmackfrei. Nie wieder! Es gibt bessere Lokale.

Alles frisch, alles appetitlich serviert, vor allem die veganen Gericht sind ein Gedicht, wir sind hier seit Anfang des Jahres Stammgäste und werden es auch bleiben.

Our daughter always love this place, it was the place to go for lunch on Sunday's after church. It's nice that it has been renovated so much cleaner than before especially the washrooms and another big plus is that it has a diaper changing station in the washroom hallway not in the women's washroom! Food was great everyone loved their food. I had the fried chicken with fried noodles it was good but a little bit overcooked also chicken portion is much less compared to other Asian places that offers the same food.

Wir waren heute das erste mal im Ha Long und wir waren sehr zufrieden. Das Restaurant bietet eine sehr große Auswahl an Speisen für Veganer und Vegetarier. Wir wurden sehr nett bedient und das Essen kam schnell. Nur das Sushi brauchte etwas länger. Geschmacklich war es sehr gut, nicht überragend, aber das kann man bei dem Preis auch nicht erwarten. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.

Came here with my family on a hunt for sushi and found this place. The prices are decent and the staff was very nice but I picked plastic out of my teeth after nearly eating a whole order of spring rolls. Not okay.

Yummy food and lots of options on the menu. They have a vegan section, sushi, pho, noodle and rice dishes, and others. We have always had a good experience and left full. Make sure you have cash.

Ja, veganes Sushi kriegt man inzwischen fast überall. Aber (fast) nirgends in der Region ist die Auswahl veganer Gerichte so einfach und so groß wie im Ha Long. Denn dieses Restaurant hat prominent ganz vorne in seiner Speisekarte 3(!) Seiten fast ausschließlich vegane Gerichte. Vorwiegend Sushi&Co. aber auch Chinesisches in veganer Variante. Die wenigen nicht-veganen Sachen sind schnell "aussortiert" und dann kann man als Veganer in Sushi schwelgen. Ich bin dort mittlerweile Stammgast und war schon unzählige male dort. Ja, auch dort läuft nicht immer alles perfekt, aber das lang und breit zu kritisieren würde dem sehr guten Gesamteindruck nicht gerecht. Besonders erwähnenswert finde ich das Gemüse-Tempura, was für mich immer der "Kaiserhappen" ist. Gut, wenn man dort Stammgast ist, dann ist die Speisekarte dann doch etwas statisch und verändert sich praktisch nie. Etwas mehr Experimentierfreudigkeit z.B. mit neuen Gemüsevarianten, Algensalat, Edamame etc. wären wünschenswert.

Schade dass es keinen Lieferservice gibt- sonst könnte ich das öfter genießen. Immer gut. Daumen hoch!!!

Hier gehen meine Freundinnen und ich schon seit Schultagen gemeinsam hin - schön zu sehen dass sich der kleine Laden so tapfer hält! Für uns hat er also schonmal ein bisschen Nostalgie-Wert. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist hier absolut in Ordnung, Die Qualität ist jetzt natürlich keine Spitzenklasse, aber für den Preis kann man nicht meckern, auch über die Portionsgröße nicht. Ich hatte letztes Mal Sushi bestellt und bekam einen hübsch angerichteten Teller mit Dekoration auf dem sogar mehr Maki drauf waren als im Menü - dankeschön! Die Portionen sind allgemein großzügig, eine Jumbo-Suppe schaffen wir z.B. auch nur zu zweit! Das Einzige was ich ein bisschen zu bemängeln habe war der Service. Der Herr der uns das letzte Mal bedient hat war zwar freundlich, aber hatte mega Probleme mit Deutsch und wir mussten ihm auf der Karte mit dem Finger zeigen was wir bestellen wollten. Als Guavensaft bestellt wurde bekam derjenige Apfelsaft. Beim Teller abdecken rannte der Kellner wieder weg noch während ich ein Getränk bei ihm bestellte, hat er offensichtlich geflissentlich überhört denn weder bedeutete er mir dass er die Bestellung gehört hätte noch bekam ich mein Getränk. Als wir getrennt zahlen wollten guckte er sehr geschockt und hat gefragt ob wir nicht zusammenlegen können. Haben wir dann zwangsläufig auch, waren aber nicht wirklich glücklich darüber. Ein echt super Asia-Bistro, aber der Service muss besser werden. Eine Bedienung die Deutsch oder Englisch kann wäre schonmal nicht schlecht!

Great for vegans (but I’m not vegan!). Lovely view of the Stiftskirche, great menu variety, but somewhat lacking on the variety of sushi (real, not vegan—wasn’t brave enough to try vegan sushi). Service was excellent and as an American who speaks very little German, the staff was exceptionally accommodating. (It is such a relief to hear “of course!” when I sheepishly ask if someone speaks English.). Very kind staff, great service, great sushi.

Leckeres Sushi zum kleinen Preis, leider war mir jedoch die Auswahl etwas zu klein und außerdem sind die einzelnen Sushi Rollen beim Essen auseinander gefallen.

Das Halong bietet solide und leckere asiatische Küche zu einem sehr guten Preis. Ideal für Leute mit kleinerem Geldbeutel. Es ist natürlich keine Sterneküche, aber das Essen ist immer lecker und frisch. Für das Geld auf jeden Fall top. Das Essen ist immer sehr hübsch angerichtet. Der Service ist auch freundlich und auch recht fix. Das einzige, was ich nicht so gut finde, ist die Inneneinrichtung. Es hat schon so ein wenig Imbiss-Atmosphäre. Aber ich gehe ja in erster Linie wegen des Essens hin, also passt das.

It was my first time eating here and ordered the crispy duck. It was delicious and got to me very fast! It was also reasonably priced so I will definitely come back here again to try the other dishes.

I stopped by in the early afternoon when I had the beautiful decor almost to myself. Shame I was in a hurry, but the service certainly didn't slow me down! Everything I ordered came out timely and the maki was perfectly adorable! I got the chicken and ginger soup with my favorite glass noodles, avocado maki, and mango maki. Sometime I'd like to come earlier for their lunch buffet and other plate deals, but there selection is massive any time of day anyway! The only thing I didn't care for was that the soup had so many veggies and not enough of my glass noodles, but is there really such a thing? :)

I really liked it because the prices were very considerable and the food tasted amazingly good. They served very much food considering that they only sell 1 portion!! :D Saying that...you can eat with your other half for a good price and tastes on Top very very goof

If you like Asian food then you will like this place. They have a varied menu that allows you to choose anything from Sushi to Pho soup. We had 2 orders of fresh spring rolls, 2 cups of thai soup and 2 entrees all for under 30 euros. The service was great and the food was delicious. The restaurant is located next to the BK across from the Stifts church in a pedestrian zone of the old city. It is best to park at a public garage and walk to the place. If you like good ice cream or sorbets the Dolimete is on the same street. Hope you found this review helpful.

Just had lunch there and it was pretty awful. My meal consisted of overcooked, dried out food. Terrible dessert. The meal cost €17.50 - it wasn't worth €5.

Average Asian food with a lack of freshness and quality. The "Fruit tea" tasted really artificial and had probably more chemicals than fruit parts. We ordered a big plate of mixed food. We waited a little too long for our dishes and so I ask the waitress where they were. She than told me that we should go inside for choosing what we wanted on our plates. We filled our plates and soup to our table and started eating. The food was little gum-like and not fresh at all (probably leftovers from the morning), the sushi! wasn't with fish but only with vegetables and tasted like defrosted, the noodles were ok, I guess, but tasted microwaved or reheated. When we left I asked the waitress to pack my soup because I didn't want to eat it there, her answer was, that we could not take away the food from the buffet. I told her that we didn't ORDER buffet but a huge plate with soup, so I I couldn't understand that reason why I couldn't take the soup home (she would have thrown away anyway..at least I hope so). She finally agreed and gave me a device for taking the soup home. Unfortunately the soup was not edible at all and disgusted the hell out of me. It was not expensive but I will never eat there again!

The restaurant seems to be geared towards the young generation with a fast-food feeling about it. So don't expect a very personal touch in the service. Despite the no thrills appearance, the food was quite ok. We tried 3 kind of soups, the wantan, the thai shrimp and coconut and the glass-noodle one. They tasted a bit watery, but the meat and the hotness were good. For the main dish, we tried the thai curry roasted chicken and some pad thai chicken which were decent. We really liked the fact that the thai foods were hot and spicy. They didn't use real chillies, but they had some hot sauce. The prices were very decent, with around 7 euros for a main dish. And it was opened on a Saturday afternoon, when it's quite hard to find something open to eat.
