Hafensturm in Duisburg

We had a reservation for 13 people. Unfortunately, the reservation was forgotten, and even our proof of reservation didn't result in an apology. We improvised. The location on the Rhine is very nice. The atmosphere is relaxed. The food (self-service) was okay. However, the restrooms were absolutely borderline. A no-go!

We wanted to go in on August 15th to get something to eat, but unfortunately, we (ages 51 and 63) were asked for ID. Because my girlfriend, 63, didn't have any ID with her, we weren't allowed in. I personally find the way we were treated outrageous! Your "security guards" should get some more training or go see an optician so they can do their jobs properly!

I'd actually like to give it 5 stars, but what I experienced yesterday at the Full Moon Party was simply sobering. Either they stop allowing minors in, or at least ensure a balanced gender ratio. The situation escalated into a mass brawl, with tables even falling on guests. That's absolutely unacceptable. Last year, the Hafensturm location was still a place where young people could relax and enjoy a glass of wine without aggression or chaos. Unfortunately, that feeling has completely disappeared. I won't be going there again for the time being.

Incredibly unfriendly staff! Especially the security staff, but everyone else too. Across the board, everyone was very inattentive and condescending. This beautiful property is definitely in the wrong hands.

You can sit comfortably there with a view of the Rhine. Everything is self-service; the tables are simply cleared away. The prices are high; you're paying for the view, after all. However, the food is highly recommended.

Great atmosphere right on the Rhine. The waiters are fantastic. It's superbly organized, and what they conjure up in their small kitchen is impressive. The grilled fish plate is highly recommended. Unfortunately, I didn't take a photo. You'll definitely be full afterward.

I don't understand the positive reviews. The food is really not good. The burger has a cheap patty and bun, and the "chips" are actually pre-made fried potatoes that end up in the fryer, I'd say. I wouldn't even "cook" something like that at home. The view is good, but there's not really any "service" since it's self-service.

We stopped in for the first time in a long time and wanted to grab a bite to eat. Unfortunately, the salad was completely brown 🥹 what a shame. They tried to make me a new one, but it was the same! I don't think they should serve that kind of food! It belongs in the trash 🙏🏻

The Hafensturm is self-service. The beer garden atmosphere with a view over the Rhine is truly fantastic after work. I highly recommend it.

Everything is excellently organized. You pick up your drinks at the bar, and the same goes for the food. The quality is outstanding, befitting the location.

The staff is friendly—but unfortunately, it's self-service only. Food is prepared, and you're notified via a pager that it's ready to pick up 😊 Also great for groups. Should the weather be good, though.

So far, everything was fine; it's just a well-located beer garden on the Rhine. The food and drinks were perfectly fine for the price. The drinks staff were nice, but the lady in the back kitchen with the incredibly long fingernails (completely unsuitable in the kitchen, in my opinion) could also be working for the German Armed Forces, given the tone she used toward her employees. Perhaps sometimes less is more.

First of all, it's a well-located self-service beer garden. The baked potato with salmon wasn't a good choice, and the side salad was covered in olives, which wasn't really a problem, but not everyone likes olives, and since they were cut up, they were difficult to get out. The sour cream was tasteless and over-used, so you couldn't really taste the salmon. I'll definitely go there again and try a different dish.

It was just a quick trip that brought us here. Saw it online in the morning and arrived by the afternoon. This short trip actually turned into almost four hours. The service was great, the food simple but delicious. The view of the Rhine was wonderful. It won't be the last time.

Brilliant place!!! But!...the staff is a complete disaster!! Beer is on tap and costs €4.60 (0.4l). The restrooms are also a disaster! We haven't eaten there yet!

Was in this wonderful beer garden again today. Everything is perfect, from the friendly, lively service to the food and the drinks. The price/performance ratio is really right here! As a special treat, “Münchener Hell” is now also available on tap. This is really an enrichment! Thanks to Jörg and his great team.

Honestly, not recommended for people with celiac disease, unfortunately. I'm not feeling well today after eating yesterday. According to the menu, the food is gluten-free, unfortunately it doesn't feel that way today! But the service was great, the water for the dogs was at the table quicker than the companion had fetched drinks, thank you! The ambience: you really enjoy sitting there and the view is beautiful

This beer garden is a little gem. Directly on the Rhine. We have already spent many wonderful hours here. You have to get your own drinks and food, but empty plates and glasses are quickly put away. The events here are also really, really good. We like being here. Please take your jacket with you. When the sun is gone it could get cool.

My absolute favorite place that I enjoy with friends after walking the dog. Luckily the winter break is over. The food is absolutely recommended. A small but nice menu and everything is delicious. The staff is always in a good mood and very attentive. Our dogs get their water at the table and you pick up your own beer, which is absolutely fine. This means that things are cleared away and ordering and picking up is less chaotic. It also makes it much easier to talk to other people. ;)

It's self-service here, so no service and the toilet is now in a container, very cramped, I don't think that's good for people with disabilities. There's nothing wrong with self-service, it's just that the toilets are very cramped

We have been coming to Hafensturm since the beginning and will remain loyal to it. We go there several times a month to have a delicious beer after work and something to eat. I can recommend the fish dishes or the hamburger to everyone😋.....simply delicious. Jörg also always has a sausage ready for our dog Dexter. Thanks again for that. Keep it up. Great location with a view of the Rhine

You have to pick up your own food and drinks, but all the employees are very nice. The cobblestones in the driveway are a bit of a challenge for walker or wheelchair users. However, there is a ramp at the bottom of the stairs.

Nice beer garden. Food was a disaster, fish little and dry. Lettuce has dark cut surfaces, meaning it is old. Despite drawing attention, the staff wasn't particularly interested in it. And that for 14.90 euros. You should be ashamed of yourself. I don't get my money for free. Such poor quality

It's just a very beautiful place. There is somehow a holiday feeling among the guests and the staff here. You order food (e.g. good fish) directly at the stand and receive a beeper that announces when the dish is ready to be picked up. You can get drinks directly in the “turret”. There are only staff who look after the tables, clear away and so on. At least that was the case a few weeks ago. So in my opinion there are no waiters who could be racist. Especially no one to bring food to the tables. But some people have to act important and join in every hunt. 😉
