A great place for a cycling break, very uncomplicated. They sometimes even have barbecues on weekends. Bottled drinks, self-service.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend it. Cleanliness???? I think that's a foreign concept there. I was expecting it from a visit. I won't be going back. It's a shame. The view is the most beautiful thing there.

Probably the best plum cake in town. Getting there on foot is a bit more challenging than by bike. We were almost run over by many cyclists as pedestrians. But the cake made up for everything.

I've stopped there several times on my bike ride. It's in the Düsseldorf postal code, but it's probably the first place in Duisburg. Located right on the Rhine embankment, it has a rustic garden and a friendly team at the grill and bar—everything is self-service. A pleasant atmosphere with a random mix of tables and chairs. Very reasonable prices for delicious grilled food and drinks. Most people just grab one of the plastic chairs and sit on the Rhine embankment with a glass of Alt, like many others, enjoying the view and unwinding. Highly recommended.

A shop that's way too underrated. Due to its quiet, somewhat secluded location, the shop is easy to miss. Highly recommended! Very quirky, cozy, and just makes you feel at home. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. Always worth a visit.

The Aschlöksken in Duisburg Serm am Rhein. A stop here on your bike is a must. Grilled food, potato salad, and meatballs are available, of course, as well as hot and cold drinks. Self-service is the order of the day. The "ambience," if there is one, consists of dated garden chairs and tables. Sitting on the dike with a view of the Rhine. It's just right as it is. Tip: Very busy on weekends when the weather is nice, but better during the week 😉

Very simple. Buy bottles at the kiosk and bring your own glass if needed. Very simply equipped.

Where the Rhine glitters, the plastic chair calls and the thirst for beer is quenched! This rustic garden restaurant is proof that you don't need any frills to feel comfortable. Grabbed the chair yourself, chose the seat yourself – service? You basically make it yourself, and that makes it somehow charming. The guests are just as colorful as the tablecloths (if there are any), and whoever comes by bike has already won - better view, better mood, cold drink, grilled sausage with potato salad on sunny weekends, otherwise there's a delicious Friko. By car? There are few parking spaces… Fairly priced, great taste – clear recommendation for everyone who likes it easy!

Been here on a recommendation. Parked in Wittlaer and went for a walk with the dog. When the weather was nice, we took 2 garden chairs here, got a beer and sat by the Rhine. Enjoyed such a lovely hour in the sun.

Before 2023 Always nice to stop there when you're out on your bikes, price/performance a solid 5 stars! Really great since the son took over that there is no more stupid lunch break!!! Often stood there during my lunch break. I still like coming back to the Aschelöchsken! Greetings from Moers! A nice place for a break...always very busy in the summer. Food and drinks must be picked up from a small shop or grill and can then be enjoyed around the restaurant. There is no waiter service. Views of the Rhine as well as Duisburg and Düsseldorf.

Good spot to linger for a couple of drinks with a view of the Rhine. You can simply take chairs here and sit at the front next to the dike. On hot days it can get crowded due to many cyclists and walkers. Relaxed option for a stopover.

It's simple...it's simple...not a fancy Micki store...with reasonable prices...located beautifully on the Rhine... And it is precisely this “simplicity” that is so wonderfully relaxing.

Not even worth 1 star. Horribly dirty, unkempt and completely run down for years! Some broken, dirty chairs everywhere, just broken, outdated furniture. The toilets are an imposition. Definitely not a recommendation!!

Discovered on our bike tour and found it to be good. Directly on the Rhine dike with a rustic garden and friendly self-service. Wildly mixed tables and chairs create a special atmosphere. Cheap prices and a delicious meatball. The potato salad was just okay. The toilet is of the lowest standard and only suitable for very slim people.

Went there again and again with joy. But closed again, even though it was supposed to be officially open (Friday 6:00 p.m.). And we weren't the only ones standing there in front of the closed restaurant. This way you can also scare away your guests

The young man at the counter/sales desk could be a little friendlier or he shouldn't do the job. The tables and chairs should be checked and cleaned from time to time.

It wasn't crowded in the morning, but that can change quickly in the afternoon when the weather is nice. Simple, nice atmosphere in the countryside, a very nice location directly on the Rhine. Very low prices for this location. We cycle here often.

I've been going there for almost 40 years and arrived there today after it rained and wanted to order something. The senior manager brushed us off and said there would be nothing if it rained, even though some guests also wanted to order. Around 5 p.m. I spent many wonderful hours there, but we can also take our money elsewhere in the future!

We are there every year for Men's Day. That's why it's worth it. Beer and maybe a sausage is more than enough.
