The food is really good and the service is also good.

We come here at least once a year and have never been disappointed. The service is super professional, especially the gentleman in the cap, top notch. The menu has something for everyone, the food is fantastic, and even I, who doesn't like dessert, dig in. Great restaurant, with live music if you're lucky ;)

Most of the food was pretty good, and the service was decent, although you get the feeling it's mostly focused on regulars. It's a simple restaurant, established in the 70s, with customers typically in their 60s and older. Prices are fair.

Café Größenwahn in Frankfurt's Nordend district has been more than just a restaurant for decades: It's a meeting place, a living room, and a culinary constant all in one. Those who sit down here will enjoy honest cuisine that's as varied as it is down-to-earth and at times sophisticated, excellent service, and an atmosphere that sits somewhere between student charm and urban institution. On warm evenings, the terrace encapsulates the neighborhood's spirit – lively, uncomplicated, multilingual – with Hessian warmth! Others have also noticed this. Therefore, a reservation is always worthwhile.

This time, the service was very inattentive and unfriendly. A regular receipt was refused even after several requests, and the TSC receipt was only issued after the rest. Irritating, considering the total was approximately 90 euros.

Perfect! Everything is 10/10. I recommend it 100% You can make reservations, but only inside.

Completely understaffed. It took us over 50 minutes just to get menu and drink. My dish was so insanely hot and missed a lot of texture, it must have either been under a strong headlamp for a while or microwaved. Taste itself was ok but nothing special. The seats are not comfy at all.

This place is fantastic. The rabbit dish was cooked to perfection and the vegetables were fresh. The waiters were friendly and very attentive. We sat outside but the interior was also great. I wish we had a restaurant like this near our home. The whole Frankfurt area is amazing!

We chose this place because we were looking for a place to eat near a wine bar where we were going to meet a friend - and we were right. A real local place with traditional German cuisine, as well as a variety of pan-European dishes. I recommend booking a table in advance - even on a Thursday it was almost impossible to find a free seat. But it was worth the wait - we ordered venison, beef cheeks and rabbit (there are simpler dishes on the menu for every taste). The service was top notch - our waiter, noticing how we were struggling with Google Translate, himself translated the menu into English. A very warm gesture that made the evening even more enjoyable.

A true Frankfurt institution - has been an important part of the local gastronomic culture for many years. Very relaxed and open atmosphere, ideal for a family holiday. The cuisine is stable and high-quality, everything is prepared well and with taste. The prices correspond to the level and quality of the dishes. The only downside is that the parking is not the most convenient. But for good food, this can be forgiven.

Well, the food is good, albeit expensive. The drink selection is absolutely fine. You can sit inside or outside. The ambiance isn't a real buzz, but that's not the main focus. Service could be a bit more attentive and quicker. Reservations are recommended. The Größenwahn restaurant is popular at Nordender. For me, it's more in the "can go once" category, but it's not a must.

Once upon a time there was an institution that, in the bubble of undemanding Nordend-bussi sociology, could afford to make guests with reservations wait for a long time, not change the menu for a very long time and disguise unfriendly, moody people as service staff. The food is good, nothing more. It's a shame that the "interim bill" gives the impression that they want to enrich themselves from me and society. I only received the correct invoice after requesting it and had to wait a long time for it.

An institution in Frankfurt when it comes to food, service and ambience. In summer it is also nice to sit outside.

I'm still excited about megalomania! Luckily we had made a reservation on a Thursday evening because the restaurant was about to burst at the seams. We had a lovely evening with delicious food accompanied by attentive service. The rabbit saddle with pumpkin gnocchi was perhaps the best dish I had eaten in the last few weeks. The other dishes such as the ox cheeks were also very good. Successful evening! We'll be back

It's nice if restaurants can afford to ignore interested customers over the phone these days. Trying to reach someone there for more than half an hour.

A really quaint pub with very good food. There is a new menu every day. Despite the many guests, the service was very good, friendly and quick.

Unfortunately the midnight kitchen no longer exists. Unfortunately it is closed on Sundays... The Northrend is pretty dead sometimes... Food great as always. The rejuvenated staff brings some zest to the old place.

Rarely eaten so badly and overpriced: the goulash was cold, of poor quality, carelessly presented with cheap spiral noodles without sauce (and that for 22 euros!), the coques au vin looked really unappetizing. If it hadn't been for the nice service... This gives the “megalomania” a new meaning and not a recommendation from me.

A really excellent restaurant Frankfurt's north end. On the daily menu, which varies slightly every day, I have always found something to my liking. The food is very good. The service is very good. Above all, the apparent “head waiter” does a top-class job.

As it has been for decades - a place to feel good

We picked this place because we needed somewhere to eat nearby the wine bar we were meeting a friend at - a total local spot with traditional German fare as well as more pan-European food. Would recommend reservations because we almost didn’t get a table (on a Thursday no less) but well worth the wait because we ate venison, beef cheeks and rabbit (they had lots of less game-forward options). The service was impeccable - our waiter translated the menu for us into English spontaneously after watching us struggle with Google translate!

Great ambience, food and service. We were there on Wednesday evening and received a friendly welcome. The waiter was able to answer all questions directly and we had a very nice evening. Gladly again. Thanks to the whole team.

The food was really delicious, the location is nice, and so is the restaurant itself. Unfortunately, our waitress was (we suspect) very drunk and so rude and abusive to us that we don't want to come back. Maybe the gruff nature is appreciated by the regulars, but we would like to be treated with at least neutrality if friendliness is not an option. It's actually a shame, the food was really good. But an experience like that really ruins your mood.

We were in Frankfurt today for work and went to the restaurant based on a personal recommendation. It was very busy. Nevertheless, the food came quickly and was of impeccable quality. The service was friendly and at eye level. Even my intolerances were taken absolutely seriously and I ate excellently. We go home absolutely satisfied and it's definitely not the last time we've had megalomania. We liked it very much. Thank you!

Very nice and authentic restaurant in the hip part of the town Nordend with seasonal menu consisting of European and German dishes. The atmosphere is very cozy and the service is friendly. The food was not exceptional but very delicious. Definitely recommended.

Reserved a table for two, got seated at a table for four without asking (with exchanging neighbours). This was unexpected and rather annoying. The food was okay - wouldn't recommend it for anything besides casual stuff.

Great ambience, great service and a very varied menu

I had a really nice evening here in the restaurant. Absolute recommendation for German and French home cooking. The dishes are very nicely portioned and I can recommend the mousse au chocolat to everyone for dessert. There is a regularly changing menu with a nice selection of meat, but also many vegetarian dishes (vegan is probably possible if you ask).

Heute wieder mal im Größenwahn, Essen war wie immer einfach nur gut. Ich hatte Lupe de Meer und meine Frau Kalbsragout. Ich kann nur sagen, ich komme wieder 😁

Sehr gutes und frisches Essen. Man sollte am besten vorher reservieren, da wir nur mit Glück einen Platz gefunden haben . Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und zuvorkommend und wir haben unseren Abend dort sehr genossen .

Das Größenwahn ist hat einen urigen Innenbereich und einen großen, für Frankfurt sehr ruhigen, Aussenbereich. Es ist stets sehr gut besucht. Der Service ist sehr aufmerksam und nett. Das Essen ist jedes mal ein Gaumenschmaus gewesen. Die Karte ist ansprechend und vielseitig aufgebaut. Saisonal ausgerichtet finden sich auch einige Klassiker dauerhaft auf der Karte. Die Vorspeisen und Desserts laden zum probieren und schlemmen ein. Ich war bisher jedes mal begeistert von meinen Besuchen im Größenwahn. Hier wird sich noch Mühe gegeben, gut und ehrlich gekocht. Daher volle 5 Sterne

Nach 35 Jahren mal wieder als Berliner hier Essen gewesen. Da ist die Frankfurter grüne Soße natürlich ein Muss!

Sehr uriges Restaurant mit netter Bedienung und sehr leckerem und frischem Essen. Auch die Getränkeauswahl ist nett. Am Wochenende würde ich empfehlen zu reservieren.

Essen tadellos. Service sehr präsent, professionell und eloquent. Die Geräuschkulisse ist nach wie vor hoch. Dennoch gehört der Größenwahn immer noch zu meinen beliebtesten Lokationen.

We found this traditional local place with charm. Food was excellent from seasonal produce. It was busy so best to book in advance.

Hatte jetzt 2 mal dort gegessen und muss sagen das Fleisch nicht deren Fachgebiet ist. Beides mal war es eher mäßig bis nicht essbar. Zu deren Ehrenrettung, beim 2. mal hatte man mir das Essen dann zum halben Preis gegeben. War es aber auch nicht wert… schade. Sonst ein schöner Laden!

Tolle und leckere Gerichte, klasse Service und leider war die Reservierung etwas unorganisiert und wir mussten noch 40 Minuten warten.

Ein so wunderbarer und unscheinbarer Ort. Hervorragende Küche, toller Service und ein Ambiente zum wohlfühlen. Lasst Euch vom ersten Eindruck nicht täuschen, Ehrlichkeit zählt - alles andere als Größenwahn. 😉

A must in Frankfurt seit über 40 Jahren

In der Erwartung DAS Größenwahn wieder zu finden, das ich vor zig Jahrne gern besuchte, wurde ich in gewisser Weise nicht enttäuscht: Räumlichkeiten fühlten sich unverändert an, es gibt weiter die handschriftliche Speisekarte, das ordentliche Essen ... und dann die Gäste: immer noch die gleichen Leute ( vermutlich: eher links, Akademiker und/oder Sozialarbeiter, "jung geblieben", kulturell interessiert etc.) alle 20, 30 Jahre älter. Wodurch man das Gefühl bekommt, man ist mit denen alt geworden, sitzt in einem Speisesaal eines Altenheimes. Das Management hat es offensichtlich nicht geschafft, neue Zielgruppen anzusprechen. Wobei das natürlich auch die Strategie sein kann, aber ich fühle mich in so einer homogen gealtert Gruppe nicht wirklich wohl. Service war unprofessionell gestresst.

Viel zu teuer für die Qualität der Speisen. Grauburgunder kostet 8-9€. Lokal auch nicht wirklich gemütlich.

Wir waren gestern im Größenwahn. Es ist immer wieder toll dort zu essen. Die Gerichte bleiben von der Qualität einfach durchgehend toll. Das Hirschgulasch mit Hagebuttensauce, Gnocci und Wirsing war einfach lecker. Hier darf man sich durch und durch als Gast wohlfühlen. Der Servicegedanke, der Mensch steht im Vordergrund. Eine echte Frankfurter Institution. Vielen Dank!
