Very good home-style cooking. Schnitzel day in particular is very special. recommended. The ambience is kept simple and simple.

Reasonable prices and artisan portions. To eat there are classic currywurst fries, but also good home cooking and delicious stews that change every day.

Bought food there many times and years and was rudely and cheekily rejected by the new owner at the first very justified complaint about the quality. I didn't get a replacement or money back. I never ate there because my clothes and hair smell extremely like grease when I was waiting in the restaurant. It's a shame, it was once a good snack bar.

Had been to the chip shop earlier. The quality was great. The fried potatoes weren't really hot, the zwielschnitzel was inedible, it was so spicy that it was almost a physical injury, we can tell someone like that without asking. Spice the food so hot. That it gives you stomach problems. If you are allergic to spicy foods. Wasn't it tingling. That was my last visit to the place. The service lousy. So to speak, when you come in, what's best, with a generated sound.

Well-run snack bar. Friendly service. The schnitzel was large and tender but completely unseasoned. The hunter's sauce looked great but didn't taste like anything either. The hunter's sauce can still be improved. The fries were good.

I'll put it this way, it depends on who is serving, the blonde ladies, especially the older ones, are often cheeky and unfriendly! If people have complained that a meal doesn't come through properly, they say there's nothing they can do. Of course you pay for raw meat 👍the majo only for five fries.

It seems to be a local restaurant. Many locals visit in the evening and have a quick dinner. There are a variety of foods such as schnitzel and goulash, and the taste is quite good. I feel very satisfied for the price. You place your order directly at the counter, then receive your food and eat it.

We have been coming there for at least 20 years and are thrilled every time we visit. We have tried all kinds of schnitzel variations so far. We can only recommend it. The team is very nice and even at peak times you are warmly welcomed and served as quickly as possible. There are many other dishes on the menu such as cabbage rollade, goulash and much more. During the long holiday periods they also have company holidays. It's best to call ahead to see if it's open. We had overlooked the announcement and had been faced with it several times in the years before and then had to quickly find an alternative.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Grillhaus in Essen is an absolute gem! This quaint, iconic chip shop has been around since 1973 and has lost none of its charm. The portions are huge, super tasty and incredibly cheap. Quality is very important here, and you can taste it in every chip and every grilled dish. It's definitely worth a visit - if you've been here once, you'll definitely come back! Highly Recommended!

Schnitzel dinner on Tuesday was a disaster. My schnitzel with hollandaise sauce didn't taste good from the start because the schnitzel was completely covered with an excessive amount of hollandaise sauce! The quality of the sauce left something to be desired and so did that of the schnitzel. I will never enter this house again.

Difficult to digest food of unspeakably poor quality! After a long tour, we passed the Rutenberg Grill & Steakhouse because we simply didn't have enough time to cook for ourselves and we remembered the snack bar as being very popular. In my opinion, if you go to a snack bar, you are already making certain compromises in terms of quality, but you accept that. What immediately catches the visitor's eye is the oversized schnitzel, which, at a good 30 cm long, tends to protrude beyond the edge of the plate. I didn't order a schnitzel and therefore wasn't able to try it, but it initially looked very good and is freshly prepared and fried in the old fashioned way. The choice fell on the traditional currywurst, with French fries and mayo, as well as a double fries with mayo and a small side salad. The whole thing for €13.50. The price is okay compared to other snack bars and in view of the current, catastrophic price development. When we got home, however, the disappointment didn't take long to arrive, which meant that the price seemed a bit overpriced. The sausage didn't taste like sausage, but rather like a rather cheap mixture of cured leftovers and contained numerous cartilage and ground bone remnants that have no place in a good bratwurst. Anyone who knows the real Dönninghaus or the sausage from Krümel knows how to recognize a good sausage. In addition, there were soggy, under-fried fries with an extremely high starch content, which caused a huge stomach ache the first time I tried them. This is certainly not a problem for Imbiss Hai, whose cuisine consists only of simple, quickly prepared dishes, but for someone who is looking for good sausage and properly prepared fries (crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and easy to digest). not a recommended address. If the schnitzel meat has the same quality, I don't even want to try it... The service was friendly (a well-deserved star), even if the ladies were very busy with themselves instead of keeping an eye on the frying time. Conclusion: If you have a stable digestive tract and don't place too much importance on quality, you'll definitely get by here. Anyone who still knows the legendary Janssen snack bar or the old "scharfe Ecke" in Gelsenkirchen and knows how a combination of currywurst and fries should taste and is prepared will definitely pass by here quickly. No offense - but there's certainly a better way!

The service today was very unfriendly! The onion sausage was more than done and I was overcharged, so be careful what you have to pay! That was the 4th time now

Schnitzels are freshly fried, perfect. Portions are absolutely sufficient. Toilet is clean and OK. Only the outside area is not that nice. Otherwise a good snack.

Was there again after a long time and took schnitzel with me on schnitzel day. As always, they were very, very good (they are freshly fried and not fried) and thanks to the very good packaging, I was able to enjoy the schnitzels really well at home 😋 So I can only recommend the Steakhouse Rutenberg and the girls do a great job 👍

Takeaway food generates endless packaging waste. Food is okay, but most of it seems to have been pre-produced and only made warm. The meatloaf sold is good and cheap.

Tuesday is schnitzel day! Absolutely recommended. The schnitzels are freshly made in the pan and all the side dishes are very tasty. Friendly service, delicious food, good prices and plenty of seating. Tried the goulash on Tuesday. It was great.

Went there today with the voucher book on Schnitzel Day. Very nice and courteous staff, super delicious food at a TOP price. We will be back.

Schnitzel and shish kebab are good, the salads are not that tasty. The prices are reasonable and the service is friendly.

That didn't work at all today. 1.) The lady at the grill blows her nose in the direction of open food, something goes wrong, wipes her hand on her coat and continues working. Wash your hands? Disinfect? Foreign words. 2. Grill fails. The lady mentioned under one crawls under the grill table to fix the problem. When you stand up, you support yourself on the floor with your hands. Immediately added meat. Of course without complying with HACCP regulations. 3.) The customer in front of us had ordered currywurst fries four times. The first sausage was on a cold grill, which was still full of old fat. 2 sausages ended up in the deep fryer (160 degrees), the 3 were briefly allowed to share the dirty grill plate with the schnitzels, which had beautiful black specks. 4.) Fresh fried mushrooms on hollandaise. Simply pour canned mushrooms into the Tetrapack hollandaise and warm them in the microwave (!) 5.) The guests had to somehow place used dishes and empty bottles at the collection point using the Tetris method. 6.) Moth worker helps herself to the fries with her bare hand. 7.) HACCP is not adhered to. Conclusion: Better eat somewhere else. The store saw me for the last time.

So few points because my schnitzel was burnt, fries were still raw...two weeks ago the schnitzels were cold...unfortunately the ladies are overwhelmed when there's more going on...it's a shame they always enjoyed eating there

You had to get the food yourself, the schnitzels were quite large and tasty, but the sauce was only warmed up from a tetra pack and wasn't even really hot

A really good chip shop that you can hardly find anymore, with a changing lunch menu. We really enjoy eating here.

I would love to work there and eat my favorite dish every day

We had lunch twice, once the roulade and once the pollock. The advertising promises fresh food which is unfortunately warmed up in the microwave, with the fish there was so much water on the plate that it could still swim away. The roulade was the only bright spot apart from the sauce, which was pure paste and completely gooey. Once and never again, not recommended!!!!

Die Portionen sind gross, alles wird frisch zubereitet und sind mittlerweile auch besser gewürzt, so dass ich meine ursprüngliche Bewertung korrigiere. Die Schnitzel sind fast schon legendär, riesig, lecker und gebraten, nicht frittiert! Auch die Bratkartoffeln und die diversen Salate sind super. Die Bedienung ist immer freundlich, auch wenn der Ansturm groß ist. Fazit: Richtig gute Hausmannskost zu fairen Preisen

Ich war gestern nach langer Zeit wieder mal dort essen.Es schmeckt immer noch erstklassig und die Portionen sind sehr groß. Die Preise sind wirklich günstig. Das Team ist schnell und auch bei großem Andrang sehr freundlich...ich werde jetzt wieder öfter dort essen gehen.

Essen ist gut Hausmannskost, Preis-Leistung ist wirklich gut. Portionen sind recht gross. Personal ist herrisch, dennoch nett. Man bestellt vorne und muss sein Essen selber abholen. Ambiente war nett weihnachtlich dekoriert. Gasthausatmosphäre. Ich kann es gerne weiter empfehlen!

All so das essen wird bei euch immer bescheindender um es höfflich aus zu drücken Wollte Curry Frikadelle mit Doppelt Currysose bekommen hab ich eine Frikadelle mit einfach Sosse und ich habe es drei mal erwähnt und jetzt einen Kunden verloren

Sehr guter klassischer Imbiss/Schnellrestaurant. Kann ich jedem empfehlen. Gibt es leider viel zu wenige von. Preis, Leistung absolut Top und auch sehr lecker.

Ein wirklich toller Imbiss mit wechsel Mittagstisch und Angeboten. Die Speisen sind immer sehr bekömmlich. Die Preise sind auch sehr angepasst. Eine saubere Toilette gibt es auch. Empfehlung.

Auch, wenn es zu Stoßzeiten mal etwas länger dauert, die Mädels dort machen einen Superjob und das Essen ist lecker und bezahlbar. Hoffentlich bleibt das so.

Super schmackhaft,nicht umsonst brummt ďas Geschäft, eine echte Institution. Die Tageskarte jederzeit empfehlenswert und jeder schnitzelliebhaber wird hier bestimmt fündig.Ob ausser Haus oder vor Ort ich mag's und komme gerne essen hier.

Es gibt dort ein wechselndes Angebot von Speisen, z.B. leckere Eintöpfe, Schnitzel, Schaschlik und auch Fisch. Des weiteren das übliche eines Imbiss. Die Salate sind schmackhaft und es gibt alles gut verpackt zum Mitnehmen.

Einfach leckere "Hausmannskost" ohne Schnick Schnack und riesige Portionen. Die Schnitzel passen kaum auf den Teller.

Immer voll die Bude . Zeichen für gute Qualität. Kann man nur empfehlen wenn man Hunger hat und satt werden will.

Wir waren gestern ( 23.9.2023 ) das erste mal dort gewesen, da es uns empfohlen wurde. Und waren auch zum letzten mal dort! Wir hatten einen Grillteller, das Fleisch ist mindestens 5 mal gestorben, sowas von trocken, es war alles, aber nicht genießbar. Wenn dieser Grillteller dort Standard ist, ist es für jeden Gast eine Zumutung.

Essen und Bedienung super, da macht Essen Spaß

Waren heute zum ersten Mal dort. Bedienung war auf Zack. Mega toll. Essen war frisch. Schnitzel keine TK-Ware. Bratkartoffeln mit Speck und Zwiebeln wurden Frisch gemacht. Preise sind für die Leistung mega. Man kann auch Innen Speisen. Typisch Deutsch, Maggi und Tabasco war am Tisch zur freien Verfügung. Wir kommen wieder!!!!! Dankeschön.

Ein Gut alt eingesessenes Restaurant mit Guter Hausmannskost und pommes Bude wo man auch Satt wird.

Fast alle Damen im Service sind super freundlich, ist häufig sehr voll da der Laden einfach super Essen anbietet, Preise sind auch vollkommen in Ordnung für das was einem geboten wird einzigste Manko was ich finde sind Getränke sind für den Preis zu klein, ansonsten ist alles andere soweit in Ordnung

Super lecker fahre extra von Altendorf dorthin kann ich nur empfehlen
