An outstanding restaurant with excellent cuisine and very pleasant service. The quality and taste are top-notch. The owner is extremely friendly and creates a welcoming atmosphere. We were there on a Sunday, and it was very busy. Without a reservation, we had to wait a short while, which is perfectly understandable. Making a reservation in advance is recommended. Highly recommended!

We ordered four soups – and quite honestly, it was nothing more than warm water with a bit of color. No flavor, no seasoning, just completely uninspired. On the table? Nothing. No salt, no pepper, no hot seasoning, not even simple tissues. And then they bring two small pieces of bread for four soups. That's not even enough for one person. It seems like they're cutting corners on everything they possibly can. The service was the absolute low point. When we told the employee that we didn't like the food at all, he passed it on to his colleague – and the atmosphere was just disrespectful, rude, and completely hostile to customers. It was like, "We don't care what they think." That's exactly how it came across. Honestly, it wasn't just bad. That was truly awful, incredibly rude, and utterly disappointing. I simply can't accept such indifference and such a lack of quality. For me, it's clear: Never again Grill Palace Viersen. That was one of the worst experiences you can have in a restaurant.

They were served with a ridiculously thin piece of bread, cut into tiny, cold bits that wouldn't even have been enough for a bowl of soup. For four people, it was simply embarrassing. The service was the absolute low point. An employee with conspicuously long, curly hair behaved so disrespectfully, provocatively, and completely unprofessionally that it was utterly cringeworthy. Our criticism of the food was ignored and dismissed with an attitude that shows they don't value their customers. Everything was missing from the table: no seasonings, no pepper, no salt – nothing. No attention, no friendliness, no consideration. You rarely encounter such appalling service. This restaurant is absolutely not recommended. With such behavior and such poor quality, they should seriously consider replacing the entire staff. My advice is clear: Don't go.

We went to Grill Palast on Saturday. We're visiting from the Netherlands. They didn't accept reservations over the phone, but we still found a seat. Special thanks to the lady with long black hair—she made us so happy with her smile and attentiveness. The food was excellent, and we can't wait to come back! 🙏🍽️

I've always been satisfied with everything so far, both the food and the service. And I still am. But when you don't even get a thank you when you leave a tip, I'm speechless. I'll still enjoy eating there, but I won't be leaving a tip anymore, regardless of who serves me, because a simple "thank you" costs nothing and at least shows appreciation.

I was very bitterly disappointed today. The fries, which were supposedly fresh, were disgusting – greasy and oily like car tires. The quality has really gone downhill. Some staff members just stood around instead of making eye contact, as is proper. Ordered items were forgotten, which unfortunately didn't end up on the bill. It was packed, but the ventilation system was clearly struggling. As a server/waiter, you'd recognize this and open a window or the entrance to create a draft. We were there on October 5, 2025, around 4 p.m. No one wanted to take our order, of course. After 20 minutes, we ordered, but no appetizer arrived. The food was cold and the order wasn't complete. Service and friendliness were beyond amazing. I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

We wanted to give the Grill Palast another chance but after our third disappointing visit we have unfortunately called it quits. We always came because the food is so delicious but the service is getting worse and worse. Today everything was thrown away. My husband's meal arrived, and mine only came 15 minutes later. The dishes seemed illogical because mine was prepared more quickly. After the meal we asked for dessert, which came with the meal and got cold. I don't have any cutlery. In the end we wanted the dishes packaged to take away and were given a box and allowed to pack it ourselves. I am shocked and angry. Also sad that things turned out this way because it really was our favorite restaurant!

We used to enjoy this place regularly, but this time we were sadly disappointed. The chicken soup was noticeably waterier than before and contained hardly any meat, and the portions had gotten smaller. We also had the impression that the service was more cordial toward locals than toward other guests. Positive: One server was particularly friendly and attentive.

Went there for the first time today (recommended by a Turkish friend) and were thrilled! The meat, rice, and salad were delicious! Prices were more than fair (doner plate for €9.90). The decor (impressive counter with a traditional charcoal grill) makes the place look like it's in Istanbul—if you don't like that, just stay away. The clock shows approximately 6:00 p.m. And we were lucky and got a good table for dinner. Therefore, this report goes to management. There were a lot of temporary workers there today, which is a shame, and they don't understand a word of German. After repeating my order several times, my food came out wrong three times. My wife ordered a small doner kebab plate. I ordered my dish four times, one Adana with bulgur. My food was returned three times. It's insane. I asked for some feta cheese, please, which I haven't had yet. After a long wait, my food arrived. After a while, I was no longer hungry, so please pack mine to take away. What does the waitress do? She lifts my plate and throws the food into the trash at the table. After a complaint, they give us something new to take away. We pay 30 euros, and they simply laugh at us. I ate there again today. A really friendly welcome (like a man who shouts into a tree). Air-conditioned and nicely seated inside on comfortable leather seats. The food was once again perfectly grilled and delicious. The waitress was super attentive when I dropped a knife. It took less than three seconds and I had a new one. Now that's what I call attentive. The only downside is the outside. They could do more with that. Still, great staff and quick. All other meat is grilled over charcoal, and you can taste it. I'd go back anytime.

The smell is truly heavenly and makes you want to grill. The ambiance is really good, and the service is also excellent. A very positive thing is that we almost always get bread with sauces, which are super delicious. The rice on site is also really great (I can't recommend it for takeout, as my rice felt like it was swimming in oil. I've only done it once, so I don't know how common it is). The meat is always a problem for me. It tastes really good, and the grilled flavors really come through, but... in one-third of cases, I get meat that's just full of gristle in every other bite, which of course makes the whole thing a bit unpleasant and inedible for me. But that would actually be the only thing I would complain about. Otherwise, if you're in the mood for grilled food or kebabs, you'll definitely find what you're looking for here.

Service was okay, even though it wasn't full, we waited 10 minutes for a drink. For three people, the bill was over €100. At least they could have said tea was on the house, but it was still charged. The menu on site said €27.90 for a Grillpalast plate for two people, but on Instagram it's €10 more expensive. Furthermore, it was too warm inside, even though it wasn't crowded. There was no air conditioning. I don't even know if there's anything like that there.

The meat is incredible, the salad is very good, and the bread and dips served beforehand are a great bonus. And all this for a very reasonable price of around €22.00. So it's no wonder that the Grill Palast seems to be fully booked at peak times (and usually is). But that's precisely where the problem lies: the seating at the Grill Palast is rather unusual. You sit relatively close to other people's tables when it's full, and the noise level is very unpleasant, and it's very difficult to understand people sitting diagonally from you. When it's full, the service is also inconsistent. It seems that sometimes people are assigned orders here who aren't actually responsible for them or have any experience with them. — When it's empty, however, the ambiance and service are fine and modern. An even more annoying point is the geographical location: parking is very difficult here. Sometimes you really have to win the lottery to get a place here. This is unfortunately due to the fact that the restaurant is located in the middle of the city center, which, while very smart from a business perspective, is unfortunately not very hospitable. If the ambiance were better, a 5/5 star review would be a given. But unfortunately, that's not the case. Nevertheless, consistently friendly service gets a plus point. This is the number one place to go, but not during peak times or for relaxed evenings or business meetings. There are other restaurants with a much more relaxed atmosphere and service. Nevertheless, we will keep coming back here, because otherwise the restaurant is top-notch!

We had the small rotating dinner plate with chicken. Sauces, fries, everything was very tasty and even if the chicken was a bit cool (no, not because of the sauce) it was extremely good. Absolutely disappointing! The waitress – a waitress wearing a headscarf – was extremely unfriendly and seemed to have no interest in welcoming us as guests. Instead of answering our questions politely, she gave us pat, arrogant answers - as if she was doing us a favor by even being there. I have rarely experienced something so unprofessional. There was absolutely no sign of the principle “the customer is king” here. Not only did we feel poorly served, but we were literally dismissed. Definitely the last time we entered this store.

I called today to reserve a table for 15 people for Sunday. The lady on the phone told me that we could come at 5:00 p.m. but that we had to leave the restaurant by 7:00 p.m. at the latest. When I asked why this was the case, she explained that although there were no further reservations, many guests were expected on a Sunday. I was very disappointed by this inflexible and unhospitable attitude. I expect more understanding and service from a restaurant. Unfortunately I will avoid this restaurant in the future.
