Griechisches Spezialitätenrestaurant Athos in Cottbus

Ein sehr schönes Restaurant,super Speisen und ein ganz tolles Team. Sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Kann ich nur empfehlen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.❤️❤️🌹🌹🍀🍀

Ich kann leider nur sagen das Essen war sehr schlecht, die Scampis wurden mit Darm serviert, das Fleisch war roh und die Sauce irgendeine Fertigsauce. Also alles in einem, mit geilem griechischen Essen hat das nichts zu tun!

Sehr angenehme Atmosphäre, typische Gerichte. schmeckt sehr gut

Ambiente kann ich nicht bewerten, da wir bestellt hatten. Ein Kindermenü, sowie einmal Gyros überbacken mit Pommes. Gyros überbacken war in Ordnung. Die Pommes leider völlig lapschig ohne Biss und Knack. Im Kindermenü war in keiner Art erwähnt, dass dort eine Sauce drauf ist. Und was ich dann traurig finde, dass man die Karte studiert, um herauszufinden, was es für Sauce sein könnte. Vermutlich Metaxa. Das in Metaxa-Sauce Alkohol enthalten ist, wusste ich nicht. Für einen trockenen Alkoholiker oder gar ein Kind eine Sauce, wo ein Restalkohol enthalten sein könnte, geht für mich gar nicht. Also bestellen werden wir nicht mehr, ggf ist es vor Ort nochmal etwas anderes.

Wir waren bisher immer gern hier und haben auch schon oft bestellt, aber es hat leider sehr stark nachgelassen, besonders im Restaurant vor Ort… Der Ouzo zur Begrüßung wird schon länger eingespart, doch leider hat auch die Qualität des Essens nachgelassen (Gyros sehr fettig und nicht sonderlich kross). Das Tsatsiki gibt’s nur gegen Aufpreis bei separater Bestellung (bei anderen Griechen gibt’s wenigstens nen kleinen Klecks immer mit auf den Teller). Und die Nachspeisen bei unserem letzten Besuch als Gruppe waren nicht lecker (billigstes Eis, heiße Früchte kalt, alles sehr künstlich geschmeckt). Aktuell leider nicht mehr als 2Sterne wert. Bestellen werden wir mal wieder, da es keine bessere Alternative gibt, aber vor Ort waren die letzten 3 Besuche nicht begeisternd und wir kommen so schnell nicht wieder.

😃 Auf Empfehlung zum frühen Abendessen eingekehrt. Freundliche Begrüßung und ebensolcher Service. Das Speisenangebot unterscheidet sich nicht wesentlich gegenüber anderer Griechischen Restaurants. Dafür waren die Speisen heiß angerichtet und nicht überwürzt. (Gyrospfanne, Grillteller, Seezunge). Dem kleinen obligatorischen Salatteller empfehle ich ein individuelles Update mit "Wau-Effekt". 😉 Den "Wau-Effekt" hatte ich tatsächlich bei der WC-Nutzung. Da hat der Innenarchitekt ein optisches Highlight geschaffen. Nachteil: die Toiletten befinden sich im Keller, für meine 89-jährige Mutter eine Herausforderung. Wer mit dem Auto kommt, sollte bedenken, dass es am Restaurant nur wenige Parkplätze gibt. Fazit: Wiederkommen nicht ausgeschlossen. 👍

Wir waren in einer größeren Gruppe im Athos (8 Personen) und waren größtenteils leider enttäuscht. Die Fleischplatten waren geschmacklich in Ordnung, aber nichts Besonderes. Vom Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis und der Portionsgröße waren wir jedoch enttäuscht. Als Nachspeise haben wir einige Eisbecher bestellt. Dabei hatte ich den Eindruck, dass es sich um Ware aus dem Großhandel handelte, geschmacklich sehr enttäuschend. Zum Ambiente: Das Restaurant ist schon etwas in die Tage gekommen und das sieht man an vielen Abgenutzten Stellen. Die Bedienung war nicht besonders schnell und auch nicht gerade freundlich. Gegen Ende des Abends wollten wir noch etwas gemütlich zusammensitzen, wurden dann jedoch indirekt dazu aufgefordert zu gehen. Das bedeutet, dass Stühle und Tische zusammengeräumt und alles abgedeckt wurde, dabei war es gerade einmal ca. 21 Uhr. Außerdem wurde es im Raum recht kalt. Für das, was geboten wird, sind 30–40 € pro Person deutlich zu viel.

Ein sehr gepflegtes Restaurant, freundliche und zügige Bedienung und ein hervorragendes Essen.

Schmeckt wie bei dem am Altmarkt. Sind die gleichen "Griechen". Keine originalen Griechen. Naja...

Wir wurden herzlich empfangen, das Ambiente ist sehr schön und ordentlich gestaltet, die Getränke wurden sehr schnell serviert und die Wartezeit fürs Essen war angemessen, das Essen selber ist lecker und ansprechend serviert.

Wir haben Bestellung abgeholt und das Essen war super. Fleisch war zart, lecker und Salat frisch und knackig. Dazu gab es eine Flasche Wein und Süßigkeiten für die Kinder. Bestellwert ca 150€. Immer wieder gern.

Immer köstlich, perfekte Atmosphäre. Unser Lieblingsrestaurant in Cottbus. Wir kommen sehr gerne mit unseren Kindern hierher. Das Essen ist immer lecker und wir mussten noch nie lange warten. Alles geht immer schnell und schmeckt hervorragend. Wir können das Athos nur empfehlen.

Man reserviert für 5 Personen und wird draußen stehen gelassen. Dann soll man keine weiteren Reservierung annehmen, wenn man voll ist. Katastrophal! MANCHE LEUTE WURDEN BEIM ESSEN RAUSGEWORFEN.

Hatten reserviert und wurden draußen stehen gelassen, zich Leute vor uns genauso, manche wurden sogar aufgefordert jetzt zu gehen damit die nächsten an den Tisch können. Immerhin haben wir draußen ein Schnaps bekommen.... sind dann abgehauen zu dem Asiaten nebenan beim Rewe (sehr empfehlenswert) also falls ihr das Schnapsglas sucht, ich hab's nicht🤣

Sehr nettes und freundliches Personal, Essen schmackhaft und reichlich. Hinweis, bitte die Hauptgerichte nicht unmittelbar zur den Vorspeisen bringen. Dies stört ein gemütliches und genussreiches Essen und man fühlt sich zu einem schnellen Verzehr gezwungen.

Wir wurden herzlich vom Chef empfangen. Das Essen ging schnell und es war sehr schmackhaft. Leider gibt es kein Gratisbrot mehr dazu. Das hat schon etwas gefehlt, war aber in dem Moment okay, da das Essen schnell da war. Der beste Grieche in Cottbus!

Das Essen war überhaupt nicht gut. Es hat sehr eigenartig geschmeckt, nicht so wie wir es gewohnt waren. Wir haben es uns liefern lassen und einen Tag später hatten alle Magen Probleme, bis hin zum Durchfall. Leider wird es das letzte mal gewesen sein.

Braune Stellen im Salat, zu wenig Personal für zuviele Gäste, dadurch spürbar überfordertes Personal. Wenn wir dreimal jeweils 30 Minuten auf Getränke, Hauptgericht und Dessert warten müssen und für diese miserable Qualität 40 € pro Person bezahlen müssen, war ich dort das letzte Mal essen! Der Geschmack ist hingegen hervorragend. Ich war dort schon 5 mal innerhalb von 5 Jahren essen und noch nie empfand' ich es so schlecht.

The place was packed. It took a while. But everyone was friendly. And it was loud.

The ambiance was like a train station waiting room: loud, drafty, and impersonal. The table was wobbly, making you hesitant to move. The welcome was very professional and friendly, and the dog was well received. A total of four different waiters swarmed around the table, all working at breakneck speed. Ordering was difficult, due to language barriers and a general lack of confidence. The salad was carelessly tossed onto the table with a pre-made dressing. The bread was supposed to be typical Greek pita—no, it was just plain white bread, quartered. There was no real Greek bread; even the garlic bread was just pan-fried white bread soaked in garlic oil. Well, the appetizer, grilled peppers, was acceptable, but it wasn't exactly authentic Greek either. The main course, however, was a disaster. Both dishes were undercooked. The bifteki, filled with a mere sliver of feta, and the gyros were still partially raw. An unidentifiable sauce was poured over everything. The garlic bread, which we ordered instead of rice and fries, only arrived after we asked for it. The tzatziki was delicious! All in all, the visit to this restaurant was an expensive disappointment. It's a shame, because after looking at the menu and their website, you'd expect much better food and a great location. We won't be going back.

The food arrived almost cold, and the driver threw it at me so badly that half of it ended up on the floor, then he just drove off.

Worse than we're used to! The fillet wasn't two, but only one, not much bigger than one of two, and marbled. The worst were our favorite Cretan potatoes. Apparently, they used potatoes from the day before. Ours, in any case, had potato slices on the bottom, and the usual potato pieces on top. The taste wasn't what we're used to either. The sauce wasn't even worth mentioning; it was far too little and as thick as cream cheese, so no sauce at all. Almost 50 euros for... just a good meal. Extremely sad because we've always loved the food. Bye-bye

Very good European Greek cuisine.

For me, Ahtos is the best Greek restaurant in Cottbus. I absolutely love the food and service here. I've never had any complaints, and any minor issues were resolved quickly. I highly recommend it!

I've always enjoyed eating at Athos. I ordered some lamb pieces baked with rice noodles. The food itself was very good. However, there was only one piece of lamb and the rest was pork. When I pointed out that it was pork and not lamb, they argued with me and tried to tell me that it wasn't possible and that I might not know the difference. Unfortunately, they did! No discount upon request, no concessions. A real shame. I was probably there for the last time!

We had our food picked up there, and it was still piping hot and tasted absolutely perfect. Very nice people! We'll definitely be back. It was very good, and the wine was delicious, too. 😁

The Greek specialty restaurant Athos prepares delicious dishes. The food is truly delicious and excellent. The lamb dishes are particularly highly recommended. The menu is clearly laid out; you can't say there's too much to choose from. The service is warm upon arrival. You can sit outside or inside. A menu is presented as a welcome, and of course, a round of ouzo to start. 👍👍👍👍👍👍 Very commendable for the service. Otherwise, the service is wonderful.👌👌👌👌👌 The ambiance is rather mediocre. The benches in the restaurant are uncomfortable and the furniture is old. You'll get back problems there. You can't sit there for long. Just a tip: maybe replace the furniture. Renovate it as well! And the owner should show more respect and friendliness to the staff. Still, as a recommendation for eating out, great!☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️ The Greek restaurant is opposite the yellow and red Netto near the Carl Thiem Clinic in Cottbus.

Excessively expensive for delivery. Spaghetti Bolognese, called "Alf," costs €8.50. Completely overpriced. I ordered the "69" twice today, but only got it once. When I asked, the answer was "I only got it once," and then there were only a few chunks of meat in it, and more sauce than anything else. This place is now my worst-rated place. I'll never order takeaway again!!!!!!!!!!

An excellent restaurant with very good, fresh, and high-quality food. The service was super friendly, attentive, and courteous. The starter (snails, mushrooms, and tzatziki), main course (3 fish platters), dessert (Greek yogurt), and drinks were all very good value for money. I will definitely go back to Athos on my next visit to Cottbus.

Very friendly staff, but unfortunately, they can't serve anything except dishes from the menu. Even after the second order, the wrong food arrived again. It's a shame that the service isn't working. We won't be visiting there again.

The waiter was at a loss when asked for pita bread. This was in a Greek restaurant. We got white bread from a discount store.

Three of us spontaneously came here during the week. There are noticeably many waiters around, but the service is still rather slow. It takes a very long time to even get your menus, and the same goes for the drinks service. Waiting longer for food hardly bothers anyone as long as you have a full glass in front of you. The food is okay, but not outstanding. The Béarnaise sauce, unfortunately, tastes like cream. Unfortunately, it didn't meet our expectations.

We were there on December 25th. Dinner with 14 people in the evening. Had booked a table in advance. The staff was very friendly and quick. We were very disappointed with the food. The portions were very small and the taste was so bland. We were missing 4 salad plates. It was said they would come, but they never came. The ouzo in question didn't exist and was also forgotten. In the summer we were so excited about the food...and now this disappointment. We don't come here anymore.

We ordered directly on the website and it said 90 minutes. Waiting time. We also specified additional wishes, e.g. The food I ordered came with mushrooms, but I didn't want extra fries. The food came from ordering in 2½ hours, i.e. 1 hour. Later than stated. Then upon delivery it would be discovered that a meal was still missing. And as an apology we were given a bottle of wine, but we don't even drink wine. The order went really wrong.

We had actually booked a table at another Greek restaurant. Then the rude awakening on site: the reservation was delayed. But after we called here based on luck...a table was very kindly reserved for us and we were still able to enjoy our visit despite everything. Many thanks to this restaurant and the very friendly staff. I don't need to emphasize that the food was great. Everything was perfect. We'd love to come back!!!

We ordered from lieferando.de unfortunately the garlic potatoes were not good, no taste of garlic. The meat was tough as if it had been stored. Unfortunately I was really disappointed 😞 Guyros was all in a very bad way without onions. It's a shame you used to be better.

It was our first time eating there. It was very very tasty. The staff super friendly. The prices are the same as in other restaurants. I deducted one star for the ambience. The restaurant is quite large and it was quite busy, so it was very loud. But that might be complaining at a high level. We would still love to come back.

Was there on September 29th, 2024. I got a free table straight away, it took a while to take the order. I ordered sliced ​​liver in Metaxa sauce and "special salad" which didn't look any different from the others. Maybe the egg was the special thing? The meat was full of tendons and was very difficult to eat. I had the impression that they wanted to get rid of me very quickly. Anyway, my need for this restaurant is satisfied and I will not visit it again

Unfortunately you are forced to give at least one star in order to be able to write a comment. Even the one star wasn't meant honestly on our part because we were really disappointed. The menu for my dish said: Ouzo platter with special salad. My wife ordered gyros, fries and salad. The hit: Special salad is the same salad, but advertised completely differently on the menu. We all had a dish with gyros but unfortunately no trace of tzatziki. You would have had to order this extra for just under €6. Unfortunately we were not informed of this. Then I asked the owner about it but got no response other than: we've been doing it this way for 25 years. We were here once a few years ago and it was definitely different. As a boss, I would have stood up immediately and done it Brought a portion to my guest. Apparently there is no need to attract new guests. For us it was the last visit.

Ordered food to be picked up at 6:30 p.m. Unfortunately the order was forgotten, so we didn't get the food until 7 p.m. At home I noticed that a meal was missing. Called around 7:15 p.m. They wanted to deliver the food to us immediately. The bell finally rang around 8:30 p.m. (5.5 km drive) and the food was at least lukewarm! Since it's not the first time and has happened several times recently, now a review. Significantly diminished.

All around a great Greek restaurant. Beautiful and well-kept outdoor areas and also a very cozy guest room. Very nice staff, quick and attentive. The food is super delicious. (I don't understand how anyone can complain here, probably some hobby chefs who don't have the slightest idea about gastronomy!) So highly recommended. We will be back definitely.
