We went there as a large family and were thrilled with both the fantastic food and the incredibly generous and attentive service. The portions are very large, and not everyone could finish everything. The homemade lemonades were also a hit. The price and quality are definitely well-matched. We'll be back! ☺️

A new owner has taken over the restaurant. We've tried it twice already and are very satisfied. The cocktails are also highly recommended 🍸 🍹. The menu is a bit smaller than before, but we're still extremely happy with what's on offer. We'll definitely be back. 👍

Our wedding was at Poseidon, and so was our anniversary with the new team. Excellent service, our food was outstanding, the wine was very good, and they're open from 5 pm on Mondays, yay! 😄 Many thanks to the team for a wonderful evening.

This was our first visit since the change of ownership. Everything was great, except the drink prices are simply too high. It's unacceptable to pay almost 8 euros for a glass of "house wine." One mustn't forget that the restaurant isn't located in the city center but rather in the countryside. This should be reflected in the prices!

For anyone reading the 1-star reviews from last month: These reviews refer to the previous owner, who closed her restaurant a few weeks ago. A new owner has since taken over, along with new staff and a brand-new menu. And I was pleasantly surprised by my visit. The welcome was very warm and friendly, service was prompt, and the food arrived promptly. And best of all: It was incredibly delicious. I haven't eaten lamb this tender in a long time. I'm already looking forward to sampling the new menu!

We had been searching for an authentic Greek restaurant for a long time – and we finally found it yesterday at Poseidon. The service was very courteous and attentive. The food was delicious, from the appetizer to the main course! We had absolutely no complaints and were very satisfied. The change of ownership has been a huge improvement for the restaurant!

The Poseidon has been under new ownership for about a week now. This is truly the first Greek restaurant to offer a "nice" side salad! Awesome! My bifteki was very tasty, as was the tzatziki. The baked gyro was also very good, but why a "Greek" restaurant would serve it with penne is beyond me. Our friends had schnitzel (it's debatable whether they want/should offer that in a restaurant like this). Apart from that, the schnitzel looked very good; it was even souffléd, which "speaks for" its freshness. The menu isn't extensive, but we hope it stays that way. We'd be happy to come back!

I was there this afternoon, and the experience was excellent from the start. We received a very friendly welcome upon arrival, and we even received a small welcome aperitif (similar to a digestif), which was a very nice touch. The service was impeccable: The two waiters were attentive at all times, checking on us and making sure we didn't lack anything. The food was incredibly delicious, beautifully presented, and the portions were generous. We were so satisfied that we even had some left over to take home. Honestly, I don't understand the one negative review, because our experience was completely different. The many positive comments reflect reality much better. I can truly recommend this restaurant 1000%.

No, not recommended... I don't know where to start. With the long waits before you can order drinks, before the drinks arrive, before you can order the food, before the food arrives... it takes a lot of time. The food comes in batches (they forgot to order fries. By the time I got them, the rest was cold and half-eaten). The dishes all arrived at different times. There are no coasters for drinks, which meant the table was quite wet. The desserts (two different ice cream sundaes) were brought out very staggered. One person would already have finished eating, and then the other would arrive. That's not what you'd call going out for a meal together. It was all eating in stages. The restrooms were also out of paper towels, and it wasn't exactly clean (a broken door lock). It was cold in the restaurant itself because there was a draft because the main door was left open. It was 13 degrees outside. Cigarette smoke also wafted into the restaurant. Highly recommended for children and people with respiratory problems. It was very loud, like a train station concourse. We sometimes had to shout at each other, which in turn earned us dirty looks from neighboring tables. Oh yes, about the table...it wasn't set to begin with. The waiter (or owner?) did that when we were seated. There were eight of us. He tried to play it off. But you should know which way the cutlery should be placed correctly. I myself sat on a long side where I had a wide chair leg (board). This made me extremely uncomfortable and felt like I was sitting half a meter away from the table. The food itself was good but nothing special. My dark beer tasted strange, kind of watery (diluted?). But maybe it was a brand I didn't know and wasn't that strong. All in all...I won't recommend this Greek restaurant. You can save yourself the money.

!!!! Disaster!!! Today we went to Lindenthal for dinner at a Greek restaurant after a long time. It was certainly very busy, but what was absolutely unacceptable was that we had to wait about two hours for the children's meal (schnitzel with fries and spaghetti)! When we finally got our food (main course) and were looking forward to the fish dish, we were disappointed again. The fish had probably only seen the deep fryer, as there was more fried fat than fish, making it inedible or, in terms of consistency, shelf-stable until 2050! The only tasty thing was the garlic bread as a starter! The Aperol Spritz was also as warm as the daytime temperature; perhaps they should show the drinks inside a refrigerator. We had actually imagined the evening to be better, but what was at least somewhat positive about this evening was the German service, who at least tried to prioritize the children's dishes!

Very tasty food, super friendly service, and a great atmosphere. The only disappointment was the garlic bread, which was simply too dry. The grilled pepperoni, however, is absolutely amazing.

We just wanted to sit down together this evening and have something to eat and drink. The food was delicious. There were six adults and one child. It simply took too long to place our order. It was very dry. It's a shame, there were probably two choices and no ouzo. Very disappointed after two hours of just one drink. No more service.

We give it a full 5 stars! We held our Christmas party with 30 people in the Poseidon Restaurant (Lindenthal) on December 13, 2024 and were completely satisfied. We received the same feedback from our guests. The details about it. 1. Test meal: In the summer of 2024 we visited the Poseidon restaurant (Lindenthal) with the intention of booking for our Christmas party, but did not indicate this intention at the moment. The test meal went very pleasantly. We clearly decided to make a reservation. 2. Preliminary conversation: Very pleasant and very cooperative. The implementation of all our wishes/ideas was promised. 3. Rooms: For the above-mentioned number of people, the separate event room was made available exclusively for us. We had initially only booked for 25 people, so if you want to celebrate with a slightly smaller group, just ask what's possible. 4. Decoration: On the day of the event, around midday, we were given the opportunity to decorate the room according to our ideas. We were largely given a free hand, even when it came to putting together/positioning the individual tables. 5th event: All agreements were adhered to and support was provided where necessary. 6. Food: We decided on a buffet. In retrospect, it was a really good choice. The buffet was very appetizing, varied and was refilled when necessary (without having to ask). All guests found the taste, composition and quantity of the food to be very pleasant. 7. Staff: We felt well looked after and cared for. The catering staff had a certain instinct to be there at the right moment. Liked that. 8. Flexibility: The Poseidon restaurant closes at 10:00 p.m. Our request to extend by an hour was accepted, but in the interests of fairness it should be discussed in advance. 9. Summary: We are happy to have followed a recommendation from friends to plan our Christmas party at the Poseidon Restaurant (Lindenthal). Somehow during the evening you had the feeling that you were celebrating at home, but that you were completely taken care of. We liked that, but also our guests. Finally, I would like to express my surprise at some negative / malicious reviews. In such cases, a well-known saying comes to mind. “As you call into the forest, it rings out.” We can recommend the Poseidon restaurant (Lindenthal). It's best to just see for yourself.

Germany Lindenthal 9 p.m. Nine of us, all hungry. Where else is there? Called quickly.....actually the chef is already off work! We would be there in 10 minutes. But what the heck...just come. Cook returned to the kitchen and turned the stove on again for all of us and we were all very happy. An ouzo between meals and a dessert at the end. Thank you very much for a lovely evening and the super nice hospitality. The Schmackofatz ..... great!

Today we went to Poseidon for the first time with friends. In short, it was great. Great service, absolutely delicious food. We really felt comfortable. Thank you for the lovely evening with you. Holger and Peter from Ulm, the boy Ben from Bochum and Marina and Michael from Frankfurt.

Good food, even if the menu is manageable. Very nice attentive staff. The large outdoor area is simply and practically equipped and makes a visit in summer temperatures very pleasant. Since almost everything is covered, even sudden changes in the weather don't immediately make a difference.

So I can't agree with these bad reviews at all. We have been to this restaurant several times and at different times and have always received very good service. The staff is always friendly, without exception. We were served quickly and both the drinks and the food were served quickly and always with friendly words. What more could you want? In addition, the food tastes very good. We always like to come back.

Not recommended, service poor and unfriendly, noticeably no dedication to the restaurant. The menu was also not as good as other providers. You can recognize the saying of a good and hospitable Greek when there is an ouzo. Of course there was no one for anyone that evening. Half an hour passed before the drinks were asked. You usually wait around 2 hours for the main course.

After reading all the reviews, I would never have chosen this restaurant. The operators would like the problems to be addressed - BUT apparently that doesn't help. Unfortunately, we also fell victim to poor service. At the beginning we were lucky that we were almost among the first guests for dinner, so we got food after about an hour. I didn't know garlic bread either, it was ok but I've definitely gotten to know it better. After the first drink was gone, our child had to go to the counter and order a new one because no one came. . At the other tables, orders were sometimes taken after 1 to 1 1/2 hours, and some guests already left the restaurant because they didn't get any attention. When our food was empty, we waved to indicate that we wanted to pay - we waited and waited so that we went back to the counter to pay. She apologized and accommodated us a bit with the price (a plus point) BUT something like that shouldn't happen! Especially not if it's been like this for years! Oh yes, and a slightly larger group got their food in pieces. Of course I wouldn't want to experience it myself.

Found it by chance and was very pleasantly surprised. We only ate something small, so we can't judge the main courses. The ambience at the natural pool is really nice, despite the mosquitoes.

Came here spontaneously, just great.

We spontaneously had a delicious meal. It wasn't our first time in the Greek restaurant either. The staff are very nice and the food tastes delicious and each portion is large enough. There is also an extra room for celebrations. We celebrated our class reunion in this restaurant. Everything worked out great. I can only recommend the restaurant 👍 There are sufficient parking spaces available. In summer, this is also the parking lot for the Lindenthal eco-bad, so it can happen until 6 p.m. that you don't find a parking space right away.

Food was good, but atmosphere was a bit plain. No table decorations and the waiters all walked around in normal clothes, no uniform "uniform". Unfortunately the Greek flair was missing..

We went to the eco-bad and ate gyros outside. Employees were nice, ambience from an eco-bad point of view was so-so. Grass was too tall and ants everywhere. Unfortunately it was the worst gyro I've ever eaten. Meat tasted terribly musty, fries were so-so, and there was also a piece of lettuce leaf. Cucumber, one tomato, no dressing. Tzatziki was ok. No bread with it. Once and never again!

Went there without a reservation and were warmly welcomed. Ordering drinks went quite quickly. We had to wait a bit to eat, probably because the kitchen was busy at the time. Everything was then served freshly prepared. Everything was super tasty, but a little more tzatziki could have been served with the gyros. Would love to come back.

Disappointed with the food, chicken not quite through more of a microwave meal. Just warmed up. More like ready meals from the wholesale market. Gyros very fatty. Hefeweizen not well chilled. Very high prices for that. It was better to eat Greek. But everyone has their own taste. After the answer from the operator I have to deduct one star from the food. The bifteki that my son took with him was still raw inside and the chicken wasn't cooked properly. Regardless, everyone has a different eye for food, but I see fresh things differently. Salad was good.

The best thing in summer is to sit on the terrace and look at the water of the Lindenthal eco-spa. Of course, the food and the Greek wine are always very tasty. This restaurant is always worth a visit.

Nette, familiäre Atmosphäre und gutes Essen. Alles sehr empfehlenswert.

Wir sind regelmäßig in diesem tollen Ambiente und wurden noch nie enttäuscht. Das Essen ist IMMER lecker, Getränke werden schnell serviert. Die Kinder bekommen immer die größtmögliche Aufmerksamkeit und selbst unser Hund bekommt immer eine Schüssel zu trinken. Alle sind sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und selbst wenn man mal ein wenig warten muss wird das mit einem leckeren Ouzo von der Chefin ausgeglichen. Ich würde auch gerne mehr Sterne geben aber es ist auf 5 reduziert. Wir kommen gerne und oft wieder.

Wir waren in diesem griechischen Restaurant zu Abend essen. Am besten hat mir das Ambiente sowie der Service gefallen. Ich hatte das Gericht Giuvetzi Hermes. Das Fleisch sowie der Tomatenreis, war o.k, das war es dann aber auch schon. Angeblich war dies mit Metaxasauce. Auch die Begleitungen hatten Gerichte mit Metaxasauce. Auf allen Tellern, war die Metaxasauce nicht zu schmecken. Es war eher eine bessere Bratensauce mit Sahne angemischt. Das Restaurant punktet nur in Service und Ambiente. Die Speisen jedoch lassen geschmacklich zu wünschen übrig.

Essen und Service war ausgezeichnet. Was fehlte ist Popmusik aus Griechenland.

Tolles Restaurant in Lindenthal mit einem sehr guten Angebot und nettem Personal. Die Speisen sind frisch zubereitet und man fühlt sich wie in Griechenland.

Es war mal wieder völlig überfüllt, wenn man auf dem ersten Blick reinschaut. Dann ist in der Ecke hinten links doch noch ein Platz frei. Was wirklich super zu der Atmosphäre passt, es wird sich rührend um einen gekümmert. Ausreichend Auswahl ist ebenfalls vorhanden um sich mit den Griechischen Spezialitäten den Tag zu versüßen. Super weiter so.

Καταπληκτικό εστιατόριο με εξαιρετική θέα. Προσωπικό πολύ ευγενικό και έτοιμο να σε εξυπηρετήσει για ότι χρειαστείς. Το φαγητό πολύ νόστιμο, πλούσιες μερίδες και πολύ καλές τιμές. Η καλύτερη επιλογή στη Leipzig !!!

Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen, konnten uns aussuchen, wo wir sitzen wollen, Gasthaus oder Terasse. Die Vorspeisen und das Essen waren sehr lecker, es wurde auf Wünsche eingegangen. Nachtisch brauchten wir nicht 😍. Alles in allem sehr zufrieden.

Als langjährige Gäste liegt uns dieses Restaurant besonders am Herzen! Wir fühlten uns bei der Chefin und Ihrem Team immer sehr wohl. Hier wird griechische Herzlichkeit vermittelt und man „ist“ in Griechenland. Die Terasse ist der Hit und ein kleiner Geheimtipp. Das Essen war immer ausgezeichnet und wir konnten bisher nichts kritisieren. Und dauert es in der Küche mal länger, dann haben wir das große Glück, eine schöne Atmosphäre zu erleben und zu genießen, oder mit anderen Gästen zu plaudern. Macht weiter so liebes Poseidon, wir kommen ganz sicher wieder!

Einer meiner beiden Lieblingsgriechen (Herkules in Lindenau und Poseidon in Lindenthal), wenn es ums griechische Essen geht. Die von mir gewählten Gerichte waren bei meinen mehr als 30 Besuchen immer lecker. Das Personal war immer immer aufmerksam und zuvorkommend (wie in vielen griechischen Restaurants). Trotz der schlechten Bewertung hier, ist das Restaurant fast immer gut besucht, die Gäste wissen was sie hier tolles haben. Eine Tischreservierung ist zu empfehlen. Die idyllische Lage mit Terasse an einem Badeteich und die gute Anbindung zur A14 machen dieses Lokal auch für Nicht-Leipziger optimal für Geschäftsessen oder Kollegentreffen für Mitarbeiter von Unternehmen die in der Nähe der A14 niedergelassen sind.

Unser Essen Gyros überbacken mit Metaxasoße war leider so geschmacklos das wir es zurückgehen lassen mussten.

Das Essen ist leider wieder so typisch "griechisch" wie so oft. Fertigsauce, damit alles immer gleich schmeckt und wenig "Liebe" im gesamten Essen. Der Service ist sehr nett, hat aber nicht immer den Überblick.

Kurz und prägnant,der Service ist hier mehr mit sich selbst beschäftigt,das Essen,(gemischter Fischteller) fertige TK-Ware in der Friteuse zu Tote gequält, konnte keineswegs überzeugen,aber es war immerhin warm! deswegen gibt es auch einen Punkt,der Beilagensalat stammte wohl ursprünglich von einer Kinder oder Seniorenportion ..wie auch immer,nie wieder!
