Griechisches Restaurant Artemis in Neu-Ulm

It was the best restaurant in the area. Unfortunately, it's now closed.

Well, what can I say? I got a voucher in the spring of 2025. The landlord first told me in great detail about a robbery at the restaurant that supposedly took place years ago and later pointed out that card payments weren't accepted. I already had a less than good feeling at the time and wondered how long the restaurant would be around. But I didn't want to immediately assume the worst, so I bought a voucher anyway, albeit for a smaller amount than I originally intended. Now the restaurant has been closed for weeks or even months, and as I've read since, the landlord is said to have left. When I saw "Temporarily Closed" online, it quickly became clear to me, without any further information, what was going on and that my first impression of the landlord back then hadn't been entirely wrong. It's sad, what kind of people there are; it's apparently not worth putting any residual trust in such people.

Reserved two weeks in advance, and the restaurant is closed on the day of the reservation. No sign explaining why, no information, nothing.

We were the only ones in the place, the owner was drunk, no staff, no card payments, sticky plates, dirty cutlery, drinks weren't available for over an hour, and appetizers weren't even ordered. If you don't have staff, you should close down.

This used to be a place you could recommend. In recent years, things have gone in the wrong direction. The new owner is clearly overwhelmed.

I wouldn't recommend this place. The food is average. The service is horrible. The owner made many racist comments. The place has parking. The price is high for what is being offered.

Once and never again! We wanted to go out for a nice meal for our birthday, but what we were offered was simply outrageous. There were five of us after a group had left before us – so we were practically alone in the restaurant. After the owner immediately complained about our order (since he was apparently alone) and made a racist joke, he then proceeded to insult the group before us. We waited almost two hours for the food, which arrived partially (as I said, there were only five of us in the restaurant). Finally, the owner complained to us about his problems and, because he encountered a lack of understanding on our part, became increasingly unfriendly and even subtly insulting. The value for money is absolutely not right.

The host is a super nice person. The food was also great as always.

I was in this Greek restaurant "Artemis" today and I was very impressed with the food as well as the service and the atmosphere. The food I had was the gyros gratinated and it was wonderful! It was very nice and warm, it was very edible and it filled me up very well. The music in the background made the experience here in the restaurant a thousand times better as it suits this restaurant really well. Service in this restaurant is also impeccable, the owner and his employees were all very friendly and supported me with my concerns and helped wherever they could. In conclusion, I have to say that this restaurant far exceeded my expectations and I had a fantastic experience!

Over Easter we had an incredible dinner at Restaurant Artemis! The food was fresh, tasty and authentic 🥗 From the creamy tzatziki to the perfectly grilled souvlaki, every dish was a hit. If you're craving authentic Greek cuisine in a cozy setting, this spot is worth a visit.

Disappointing – not what it used to be This restaurant used to be really good and we liked going there, but unfortunately it has lost a lot of quality. I was very disappointed on my last visit. For the second time there was a hair in my food that just can't happen. The food overall was not fresh (salad & meze), the tzatziki was extremely sour and inedible. My chicken meat was as thin as paper because the price wasn't right. The portions are generally far too small for what you pay. A waiter barely understood us and as a result several things were delivered incorrectly. That was definitely my last visit there unfortunately!

Nice restaurant. Feels a bit like a winter garden. You can also sit nicely in the beer garden. Very friendly boss. We ordered from the lunch menu. A little cheaper and not too big portions, but still enough. The calamari was very tasty and tender. The gyros tasted good, but unfortunately a bit dry. The fillet was tender and juicy.

Caution! A very drunk owner yelled at us in front of everyone, threw us out of the restaurant, and threatened us, saying he would "find out where we live" and that we were "a disgrace." He followed us out of the building, shouting insults at us. The man was so aggressive that he couldn't be calmed down. The police were informed. The food was served frozen, and the wrong drinks or no drinks at all were served. The service was abysmal and overwhelmed. I've never experienced anything like this before. There are also identical reviews stating that the drunken "boss" is ranting. How this "restaurant" can still have customers is a mystery to me.

Very tasty food and large portions, super friendly waiter, small dessert even for 6 people on the house, we would come back at any time.

The food was good, the bread could have been fresher. Service was a bit slow, but that was due to the chef/restaurant manager – he was completely drunk and completely unfit for work. He was extremely pushy, wanted to smoke at our table, and constantly interrupted our conversations, talking nonsense. The young waiter with longer hair apologized several times and was very charming and friendly. He really did his best, but the chef ruined our evening. We would have liked to stay longer, but we felt very harassed in his presence. Absolutely unacceptable! Drinking alcohol at work is an absolute no-go, even as a boss!

We went to our favorite Greek restaurant again this evening. We've been coming here with the whole family for many years and always feel completely at home! The owner greets guests right at the door, knows our food and drink preferences, and takes wonderful care of everyone the entire time. Drinks come with an ouzo for the grown-ups and a colorful "juice shot" for the kids. The salad and the food were delicious. The meat was super tender, and the potato chips with garlic oil are amazing! For dessert, we had Greek yogurt with honey and chopped nuts. We were very happy to be here again and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. It was lovely and we'd love to go back.

Greek ambience is very important. One of the few cheap and loyal restaurants that I have grown fond of. Stay as you are Artemis 💓

A drunken proprietor who throws his customers out of the shop because, in his opinion, they bring shame on him. I'd also like to mention the threats in the shop and outside the door. Well, Lillet is Lillet, not Prosecco. Frozen moussaka is just as unacceptable, and we'd probably still be waiting for the withheld side salads today. The rest of the food was incredibly greasy and lukewarm, or even undercooked. One star for the really good appetizer platter. Definitely not a recommendation...

We made a reservation 2 weeks in advance at 12.30 p.m. so that we could eat straight away. We didn't get the food until 2 p.m. and some of the meat and fish dishes were raw... unfortunately the rice wasn't cooked either. Of the 28 people, 5 percent were satisfied and the rest would never recommend it again.

It was super delicious! In all three dishes we had, everything was delicious!☺️

Review: The food was overall disappointing. The fried potatoes were not quite cooked in places and the portion seemed more like a child's portion. Plate was eaten within 5 minutes. There was also exactly one piece of calamari - without lemon. For a price of €18.80, that's pretty bold. The taste of the food was OK, but nothing special. In addition, there was no ouzo before or after the meal, which should be standard in a Greek restaurant. The ambience was pleasant, but the waiter seemed a bit overwhelmed. Overall, not a convincing experience.

The appetizer was a perfect start: grilled pepperoni sharas with a wonderful roasted aroma and crispy zucchini fritters that were wonderfully spicy and juicy. A real treat! My main course was equally impressive: tender gyro, spicy suzukakia, perfectly grilled lamb chops, served with rice, crispy chips, delicious potatoes, and a fresh mixed salad. Every bite was full of flavor and perfectly seasoned! The service was first-class – attentive, warm, and with a palpable passion for Greek cuisine. A particularly nice touch was the complimentary ouzo at the end of the meal – and Greek yogurt with honey to top it all off. A perfect sweet surprise! We asked over the phone if we could pay by card - the answer was yes. When we picked it up, the lady said no, we couldn't, and that we should go to the ATM or WAIT UNTIL THE BOSS HAS SHOWERED! What? How delusional can you be? As for the food - a short and sweet NEVER AGAIN! From incorrect orders to raw meat, they've had everything...

The food was lukewarm to almost cold; we waited almost 2.5 hours for it. My bottle order arrived, but when I asked if I needed a refill, there was no response. Service was terrible, absolutely not recommended.

I tried the Gyros Calamari and they were amazing! The portion was generous and the taste was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this place!

Drunken boss gets too close to women and even becomes abusive. I feel sorry for the waitresses.

Was disappointed. The starter was the wrong one, the other starter was forgotten and only 1 bread basket for 3 starters. The main courses were only lukewarm. Nobody thought it necessary to share the still hot food. The two ladies preferred to talk. Sat in the aisle despite having a table reservation. There wasn't that much going on. Bad service.

I was a guest here with my girlfriend this evening, great atmosphere, really good service, every wish was fulfilled and we were showered with attention. A waiter who was almost too friendly served us well and the food was something we could only dream of. Gladly again!

If you want to eat Greek again, then only there and the atmosphere is totally Greek. So I don't know of any restaurant in the area that would be better, but try it yourself🤷‍♀️👍👍👍👍👍👍

Unfortunately, the rooms don't matter when I was there and I've eaten there many times, great but typically Greek, not cheap but good!!

Six of us had a good meal here last week. The reservation was not prepared, but the innkeeper tried very hard. The restaurant was quite full for a weekday and the waiting time was unfortunately longer, but apologies were made several times (also because of the lack of staff). The food came as ordered and several courses were served properly including one ouzo per person on the house. The taste of the gyros stood out, and the dressing was also very good, although the side salad only contained tomatoes, olives, onions and the occasional feta. But all in all, the main courses were very tasty and plentiful. For dessert we also received a shared plate, which was on the house, and another ouzo. We also had to wait longer for payment. You have to bring some time and patience here. However, you also have to understand this if the entire service, from cooking to serving to washing up, is handled by one person. If we're not in a hurry, we'll be happy to come back☺️

How the good reviews come together is a mystery to me. Possibly from before. The food is mediocre at best, the standard salads come straight from the Metro bag with pre-picked greens without being Greek in any way. The service always tries hard, but is hopelessly clueless, everything takes forever, the glass is empty, bad luck. But it is expensive. We had a few irritations when the food was served, most of which we caused ourselves. However, the presumably drunk boss made it clear to us clearly, repeatedly, and even when I pointed it out to him, through his behavior, looks, rolling his eyes and simply walking away, what he thought of us. My parents are 83 and were disoriented about the food number they had ordered when they accepted their plates - this can be solved professionally. There was no question whatsoever as to whether we would like anything else, whether the food was good, etc. Instead (after we were the last ones in our restaurant area) they turned up the music to send us out. 2h15 before the official closing time. When paying, our food had to be completely repaid because we wanted a receipt. So all of us, dear reader, also have to compensate for the taxes that have apparently been evaded. Never again.

Unfortunately, we didn't get any food, even though we were asked four times in the space of 2.5 hours whether we had gotten the food in the meantime. We've been here several times, now we'll probably think twice about coming back. At least we didn't even have to pay for the drinks. I work in the catering industry myself, I've never experienced anything so disorganized!

Unfortunately, one star was the minimum, otherwise it wouldn't have been awarded. Anyone expecting a meal here is clearly wrong. I've never experienced anything like this before; calling it a restaurant is a disgrace.

Actually a nice restaurant, but substandard service. Reservation was messed up, then we didn't get a menu for ages, drinks were delivered quickly, but sometimes incorrectly, complaints were ignored. An hour after arriving, not even the starter was served. Apparently overworked/incompetent staff. Tables next to us left the restaurant in exasperation after waiting 1.5 hours for the main course. Definitely not recommended.

Unfortunately, the staff was completely overwhelmed. We had to wait over 20 minutes for the menu, and then only after asking. Unfortunately, the drink we ordered wasn't available. There was no replacement afterward. We didn't even get to eat. We left hungry with our neighbors.

Please don't eat there. The hygiene leaves a lot to be desired. Sometimes there are rats, some spiders, there is smoking in the kitchen and expired products are used. Norm also has to work there under the influence of alcohol, especially the owner is often drunk. If you want food poisoning you should definitely spend your evening there.

The restaurant is not recommended. You sit forever until a waitress comes. There is only one employee in the restaurant who serves and cooks. The food wasn't really warm and was very overdone. Service is very bad, you wait forever until you can order. Ashtrays are not changed and the plates remain there forever after eating. The restaurant is getting old and not well attended. All in all not recommended. In addition, very high prices which are not justified.

Food was good. The rest is out of the question! Ordering drinks took forever. Half of the 5 of us were almost finished eating when the last two meals finally arrived. We waited almost half an hour for the espresso. I then paid and had the coffee canceled. The boss insulted me, saying we were impatient guests and other rude things that no guest should have to listen to. We have canceled this restaurant and cannot recommend it to anyone.

The wait for drinks was quite long, and they were neither cold nor fresh. The menu offers an Afri Cola, but it tasted like Freeway Cola and was lackluster, as was the beer, unfortunately. Then came the appetizer, and we were pleasantly surprised by the portion size and the fact that it tasted really delicious. Then came the main course, and it was catastrophic. The gyro was some kind of frozen product and really not good. The calamari was pure rubber, the rice noodles had no flavor, and the potato slices were drenched in oil. All in all, this was our first and last time here. We wouldn't recommend it to anyone. There were four of us here, and each of us was equally disappointed, both in terms of price and taste.

The fries weren't cooked through. A shame, and the portion was small. The Galaktoboriko wasn't cooked through either... The gyro and calamari (No. 47) were very good. Well...all in all, we were full.

Unfortunately, even the owner couldn't make up for it with charm. One star is for the 6 free parking spaces in front of the door.

Even though we made a reservation online and showed it, we were very rudely turned away from the restaurant. The boss only made a brief comment that there was no space available. The staff said that online reservations were not possible. Very disappointing, never again. I would give zero stars, but I had to give one

Very friendly and helpful service, who also knows how to prepare the dishes on offer. Delicious food freshly prepared in good portions. Even the salads were crisp and fresh on Sunday. The drinks were well chilled and were delivered quickly, even when reordered. The chronological order was observed when bringing the food and empty plates were cleared away immediately. Very good and wide selection of food and drinks, there is also plenty for vegetarians. The sanitary facilities were clean and supplies were replenished. Parking spaces directly in front of the entrance or on the street. Entrance and guest room suitable for wheelchair users. The free ouzo was brought without asking when the first drinks were served. 👍👏 We are very impressed and will definitely come back. Today (July 28th, 2024) we were here again for lunch. Everything was great on this visit too. We would love to come back!👍👏

Been there for the first time and never again! The food was a disaster. The kids' chicken was raw inside and the adults' meat was completely fried. The potatoes were swimming in garlic oil and the rest was also marginal. After a complaint, most of it was ignored. The innkeeper was drunk and a number of other things happened as a result, which I can't even list. We've never experienced anything like this! Definitely an absolute disaster!!!

A not very pleasant experience. I had a meal organized for several people. Nothing was brought to the table if we didn't ask, although at the beginning we decided to bring everything needed according to the agreement. We had to look for the waiter to bring us water, he was outside having a beer and a cigarette.

Not good quality, I doubt whether the food was fresh. Unfortunately, the visit to the restaurant didn't leave a good impression, from the food to the service.

I celebrated my 40th birthday here and am absolutely thrilled! The food was very tasty. The location is simply fantastic and offers just the right ambience for a celebration. I would particularly like to highlight the excellent service: the waiter was extremely attentive and friendly, and the boss was also very nice and accommodating. All in all a perfect evening - I can only warmly recommend this location!

Service und Küche unterirdisch, Beschwerden wurde besserwisserisch und aggressiv begegnet. Der Chef machte dabei einen stark alkoholisierten Eindruck. Ein Blick in die Zustände in der Küche wäre vermutlich aufschlussreich... Nie wieder!

We waited for 90 minutes, but our food didn't come, even after asking several times. The waiter just mumbled and you could hardly understand him. We asked him three times where our food was but he ignored us. Then we just left and only paid for the drinks. The other guests who came after us had already had their food. 🤬 If you want to wait for free food, then you are welcome to go there.

We picked up the food today. I had to go there twice and unfortunately it still didn't work. While the owner was nice and I understand the staff issue, I also have to work hard for my money. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not right at all... totally small quantities and not properly finished and bland

Had food poisoning after my last visit

Total disappointment. In short form: A boss who can't cook but does cook. Is stroppy, hectic and unfriendly to the guests. A waiter who can't serve. Standard saying: Just a moment, please. Extremely long waiting time to order, be served and pay. The food: leg of lamb, salmon, vegetable kebabs, all cooked to death, dried out, partly burnt. Reason: We have no staff. Then leave the restaurant because Shortage of staff, but don't upset the guests! Never this place again, even if the wine was good.

We always enjoy coming here. Great service, friendly staff, and delicious food. No matter when we come, we always have a table to choose from. :) We'll be back in May :)

The reserved table was not allocated despite a promise, absolutely unsympathetic boss, I have never seen such an unfriendly person. After 5 minutes we went straight back out to eat somewhere else.

The food was average, I liked the service, and they have a room upstairs that seats 40/50 people, including a bathroom and a small balcony, which is great for receptions!

Private celebration (communion) everything went great, guests were very happy. Is only recommended.

We were at dinner; the service was very lackluster; we had to wait half an hour for drinks, even though the restaurant was quite quiet. Drinks and food had to be ordered at the same time; after the dishes were cleared, no one came to take further drink orders. The food was okay, but the price/performance ratio wasn't right. Others were served much faster and more friendly, including girls under 30; there were four of us, only under 60.

Excellent, very attentive service and very good food. The winter garden offers a very cozy atmosphere. A nice bonus were the two ouzos on the house that we received with our starter and main course. We were completely satisfied and would happily recommend Artemis.

Update am 7.2.24: es ist schade, dass der Betreiber nicht sehr gute oder gute Bewertungen löschen lässt. Ich habe drei Sterne vergeben aufgrund einer nur mittelmäßigen Erfahrung in diesem Restaurant. Prompt bekomme ich Post dass der Betreiber seine Persönlichkeitsrechte verletzt sieht. Im Verlauf sind fast nur noch 4 und 5 Sterne Bewertungen übrig.

Also all die Bewertungen kann ich überhaupt nicht verstehen, waren heute mit Freundinen beim Essen und waren hochzufrieden, nur gut das wir vorher kein Wert auf die Beurteilung gelegt haben, sonst hätten wir das fantastische Essen nicht genießen können. Danke an den Koch und den Chef. Kann jedem weiter empfehlen.

Ich habe 2 Vorspeise, 4 Hauptgerichte. Es war alles super gewessen/ pünktlich Weiter zu EMPFEHLEN.

Das Essen ist für den angebotenen Service und die Qualität deutlich überteuert. Bei einer Speise hatten wir Bedenken ob das Fleisch frisch war und äußerten dies. Daraufhin war der Chef regelrecht erboßt und mehr als unfreundlich uns gegenüber. Sehr unprofessioneller Umgang mit den Gästen. Wir waren an einem Freitagabend, das Lokal war quasi leer. Die überwiegend positiven Rezensionen dürften die Realität stark verzerrt darstellen. Es gibt deutlich bessere Restaurants. Von einem Besuch rate ich stark ab.
