Excellent value for money! The food is absolutely delicious. We come from Göttingen and drive right past it on the B3! The parking lot is plenty big, the wait times are short, and the staff is super friendly. We're happy to drive the extra miles to get delicious, high-quality food at reasonable prices.

Far exceeded our expectations! To be honest, we weren't expecting much, but we were very pleasantly surprised by how excellent and delicious everything was. The dishes were not only high quality, but the portions were also very generous. You definitely won't leave satisfied! The ambiance was very inviting and contributed to a wonderful stay. The staff deserves special mention; they were always very attentive and made us feel well taken care of. In short: A real hidden gem! We'll definitely be back.

Well, it started with the reservation on the phone, it was so unfriendly, omg it almost took my breath away (not just almost). Well, you think... yes, it happens sometimes... but it continued to be just as unfriendly in the restaurant. When you walked in, it smelled disgustingly of cigarette smoke, not really nice... the receipt of the drinks and food was also rather unfriendly, as we had a vegetarian with us who had to explain herself to the staff and then the waiter wanted to argue... sorry, that's under all pig... not acceptable. A grubby shower spread from the entrance area right into the dining room, the whole thing was a bit dated, and not just the staff... The food wasn't particularly spectacular, more below average. Well, our conclusion is that you don't have to have it, no nice atmosphere, no friendly staff and not really good food either.

As soon as we entered, there was a very musty smell. It also smelled of stale smoke. The tables were set very carelessly. Some of the food was very soft. It was probably overcooked. My wife and I know other restaurants where the food and atmosphere are excellent. We will definitely avoid this restaurant!

Ordered fries for the umpteenth time and got rice again? The owner repeats the order on the spot, but it still packs it incorrectly. My large order only came with two loaves of bread, and yet it keeps getting more expensive. Bottom line: You don't get what you order.

No trace of Greek hospitality. Everything is rushed, no smiles, you don't feel welcome. Outside there are broken benches and all the wood under the table has come loose. Broken parasols. The waiter wasn't willing to exchange one item for another. Sad. But the best thing was that we had to pay for our ouzo. I'm not used to that. Where I usually eat, the ouzo is served before, with and after the meal. I wasn't impressed by the food, and neither were the portions. Big plate and nothing on it.

The meat was cooked to perfection and juicy, the rice was mushy, spicy, and heavily coated in tomato paste. The fries were unfortunately mushy. The salad was rather bland. The prices have become quite high these days. The quality and, above all, the service don't match. I won't recommend it anymore, and I can't understand the full parking spaces, even on weekdays.

Food is really good and plentiful. But in terms of service and ambience, it's rather below average. A please and thank you never hurt anyone.

I ate there 3 times One time was really good, but the other two times were really bad. Very unfriendly service, and gyros very bad. Now very small portions for the price, No extra bread. And the boss is really very unfriendly. Gyros pan consists mainly of sauce, mushrooms, onions. You have to look for gyros. Very few fries and extremely wobbly. It's just the people who have been eating there for years who have nothing to complain about and praise the restaurant to the skies even though there are much better ones.

It was our first time there and we are really satisfied! Value for money is really great, good portions and very tasty food. I had the Gyros Special, my wife had the Bifteki, incredibly delicious! There was also an extra bowl of Metaxa sauce. The salad beforehand was very good. As a starter there was baked sheep's cheese. The food was served after a very short time even though the shop was really full.

The restaurant makes a solid impression from the outside. The parking spaces take some getting used to because it feels like you're standing on a slope. The ambience was nice. A little more space between the tables would have been nice. And the lamp on the 2-person table hangs directly in the middle at eye level, so that eye contact with the other person is not easily possible. The service was ok, unfortunately a bit taciturn but friendly. The food was very tasty and the portions were large enough. We are definitely full. The price-performance ratio is completely fine.

We went out to eat at lunchtime. We ordered from the main menu. Gyros for 17.00 euros per portion. We were brought a children's plate or lunch for 10.00 euros. The portion was ridiculous for 17.00 euros, you didn't get full at all. Unfortunately. I should have ordered the gyros for lunch instead. So there was now a total of 14 euros for the trash can. Not recommended in any way. It's better to eat a reasonable kebab for 7 euros, at least you know what you're getting. The owners probably want to get rich quick.

Basically not bad, but very old. The ambience is not a real Greek feel-good atmosphere. Food ok, but the portions are too big, why don't you reduce the portions a little, then you won't have to throw away so much...! The parking lot is a disaster, very dangerous if you have to park directly opposite on the edge of the road...

The staff is just terrible. I was there on my birthday with my mother and our dog and was treated extremely badly and didn't even respond to a nice evening

So far I would have easily given it 5 stars. However, when I saw today how a woman and her son were expelled from the restaurant because they brought a dog with them, I was at a loss for words. Personally, I will avoid this restaurant in the future and prefer pet-friendly places.

Everything is pretty tight to sit on, not for fat people. Pull your back into the backrest and your stomach to sit properly. The food is okay, but if you have something left over and want to take it with you, you have to pack the food yourself. You only get a burger box at the table. Very rude thing like that.

As far as I know, Athos has been in Thiedenwiese for a very long time. The place actually only consists of the restaurant. Typical Greek cuisine and damn tasty. Booking a table here is definitely a must, as it always gets busy in the evenings, even during the week. The restaurant itself is pretty dark, there's only enough glare-free light above the tables - that's exactly how I like it, it makes things nice and rustic. Oh and the preparation of the food goes very quickly, hurry up with your starter 😅

One of the best Greek restaurants I have ever visited. Food is always absolutely perfect. Friendly, unobtrusive service and short waiting times for the food. Prices for the Hanover region are absolutely fine. Convenient location on the B3, but very busy, especially on weekends, and the parking lot is full, even though not all the spaces in the restaurant are full. You then had to park partly on the B3.

The meat from the ouzo plate was a good portion, unfortunately the rice was heavily processed with tomato paste and the tzatziki was warm (I know that it is served cool) you have to decide whether rice or fries otherwise you have to order one separately In other Greek restaurants the rice and chips are automatically included and the salad was soggy and not fresh, the price was ok but it is this version with the products that you should pay attention to in the kitchen! As I said, it's OK, the entrance is immediately recognizable, but you should follow the signs otherwise you'll go into the wrong room, it's like a robber's hell here, the reception was friendly and polite, I also got an ouzo. Most reviews refer mainly to the meat and the portions but I cannot recommend this restaurant for vegans because of the processing and portions of salads and similar products that are served fresh and cool should only be stale, mushy and warm👎🤢 If the kitchens are people Guests can no longer be provided with clean and edible salads and other foods. What is the general condition of the kitchen and its work areas???

The Greek dishes were really good and tasty. When it comes to ambience, you could pay more attention to detail: various cobwebs had settled between vases and window panes, and the flies that appeared in summer temperatures and tilted windows were also annoying - here you could possibly invest in fly screens on the windows. The service was ok, but could also have been more hospitable or affable. The restaurant probably thrives primarily on through traffic. (August 2024)

The food was good. It is served very quickly one after the other (we weren't finished with the starter yet and he was already there with the next plates). They constantly checked to see if we were finished eating but didn't even ask if everything was OK or if there was still something to drink. We were processed very quickly, there was no trace of friendliness, everyone seemed very stressed. We won't go there again, there are better ones 🇬🇷.

We took something to eat with us for 6 people. Very unfriendly. When we got home, we were all looking forward to delicious food. But that was only short-lived. 1 was missing a meal, 2 the food was totally salty 3 a wrong meal When we called they were very unfriendly and told us to pack up the food and come back. We have done this. When we arrived we were boldly asked if they didn't suit our taste. Because the house would be full and no one had complained yet. (Unfortunately, not everyone has the courage to let food go back) I was also told that you can take food back with you, I'll throw it away anyway. Yes, we aswell. We all feel sick and have stomach cramps. And no one sees you again.

Well, there was something wrong with it: first of all, we were seated with 6 people at a table that was just big enough for 4. The food came quickly, but unfortunately it was swapped at the table by a very short and unmotivated waiter. The quality of the food could definitely have been improved. Unfortunately there was no dessert: the kitchen was busy and overwhelmed.......hmmm.......then there shouldn't be an ice cream menu on the table. When we left the restaurant after less than 1 1/2 hours, the next people were already waiting at the entrance for the much too small table. I'm sorry, but unfortunately it wasn't a nice evening!!!

Staff very unfriendly, when we wanted to take our food back with us, it was just slapped into the boxes at the table and the waiter wasn't very enthusiastic, just rolled his eyes. We have never experienced anything like this anywhere, especially in this day and age when there is so much talk about sustainability, it should be a given that you take your leftovers with you and eat them at home the following day. Absolute failure!!

Drive-thru restaurants don't have to focus on service. The food looks great, but unfortunately it had a strange consistency when eaten. Chicken is almost rubbery, very chewy, so much so that you wonder what you are chewing on (pressed meat). When we commented on the whole thing relatively quickly, we were first brought a selection of pieces of paper showing how often the chicken had been sold in the last few days, instead of offering an alternative option. Then unfortunately the bill came straight away, full price, with the plates returned almost full. They wanted to get rid of us. A pity. When we lived in the area years ago, we liked stopping here. Authentic Greek enjoyment in Pattensen! 🇬🇷 The restaurant "Athos" in Pattensen Thiedenwiese is definitely a place that I like to visit again and again. When we enter we are greeted warmly and immediately captured by the cozy atmosphere. The food here is simply fantastic. Every dish we tried was freshly prepared and of excellent quality. We particularly liked the "Bifteki" - juicy, well seasoned and simply delicious. The atmosphere in Athos is welcoming and authentic. The rustic furnishings with lots of wood and cozy seating niches create a relaxed and inviting environment. What particularly impressed me was the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. They were always there to ensure we were comfortable and our visit was a pleasant experience. Overall, I can recommend the "Athos" restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy authentic Greek cuisine in a cozy atmosphere. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Friendly staff, very tasty: farmer's skewers and Gyros Metaxa pans

Some of our orders/requests were forgotten or ignored, the waiter was obviously not able to correctly give the orders of 2 people to the kitchen! I have rarely received such a loveless salad (iceberg and coleslaw) with an untasty ready-made sauce, the main course was absolutely boring, lamb with overcooked beans, the rice was the best thing on the plate! The sauce for the meat was just creamy, tomatoey and tasteless, I rarely write reviews, but it wasn't worth a visit! The worst Greek place I've ever visited, never again!

The restaurant is located directly on the B3 and you can park right in front of the door. We received a very friendly welcome and we immediately liked the atmosphere. Drinks and food were brought out very quickly (but it wasn't that busy). We had a surprise plate and gyros gratinated. Both were very tasty and plentiful. The price-performance ratio is therefore really good. We'll definitely come back.
