Grado Babo in Berlin

Delicious and vegan, not just cheap replacements as vegan places often do. A bit on the expensive side.

We were there in May after our wedding by arrangement and there was a very tasty buffet consisting of various dishes and appetizers. It was always topped up and when some guests were only able to join later, the food was heated up again for them or a new portion was even prepared. Allergies, which I unfortunately hadn't taken into account before, were spontaneously addressed, so that something delicious was even conjured up for someone with a garlic allergy. The ladies were incredibly accommodating and friendly. Communication was entirely in English, which wasn't a problem for us, and we also had the entire restaurant to ourselves because they opened five hours earlier than normal opening times just for us. We were super happy with everything and would recommend it straight away, we were really looked after.

Finally, a women-run, women-safe bar. Lovely staff, healthy and tasty vegan food (their vegan parmigiana is amazing!). Quality wines with a great variety. The Italian spritz is the best in the area, and if you like tequila you must try their Paloma. They also have a range of non-alcoholic drinks. For those who have recently moved to bourgeois Friedenau, this is the perfect place to meet lovely people and socialise with some great international neighbours and nice Germans. It’s also the perfect place for a first date! The place is vegan, lgbtqa+ and expat friendly.

Beautiful, authentic Italian restaurant with great vegan dishes and drinks! Highly recommended. You can sit wonderfully outside and inside. We'll be back!

This place has a fantastic outdoor area, ideal for watching the sunset in the summer <3 The vegan Italian food is veryyyy tasty!!!!!! I love especially the mixed plate which is out of this world XD The staff are also super friendly and the service is on point.

I recently had the pleasure of trying the vegan parmigiana here, and I must say, it's hands down the best in town! The dish is an absolute masterpiece—flavourful, and so rich in taste that it rivals any traditional version. Well done! Congrats :) Not to mention their Schokokuchen... out of this world!

Rarely have I had such bad bruschetta, bread was tough, it was floating in olive oil, ruccola was mushy and why pimentos on a rather indefinable humus paste has anything to do with Italian cuisine is unclear to me. The waitress was obviously overwhelmed and didn't manage to clear away the empty plates or even ask God why everything was left on the plate. Really quite a failure. Never again

Insider tip in the neighborhood, for all people from Friedenau around Breslauer Platz! Wonderful, friendly Italian service. So warm! Beautiful, exciting menu, all vegan. Extensive selection of wines, including natural wine, and aperitivo options (Negroni etc.). The prices are super fair. If you want to enjoy the evening sun, you have found a wonderful place here, far away from the busy main road! I hope this friendly, lovingly designed place has a future here.

Clara's kindness begins when you make a reservation by telephone and continues from the reception until the end of the dinner. The small dishes of Italian specialties are all delicious, the assortments to be able to taste everything particularly appreciated! The small, quiet terrace allows you to have a good time. A small Italian trattoria perfect for coming to relax and have a drink. You will also have a real choice since aperitifs take up 3/4 of the menu and I have rarely seen a menu that puts so much emphasis on cocktails and Italian wines! For example, you can have a fairly classic aperol or Campari spritz or opt for more originality with its version with limoncello, berries, or even basil!🌿 And in terms of the plate, I opted for the ragú lasagna and it was really the best I have ever eaten! And the portions are very generous and the staff adorable 🥰

Little vegan Italian trattoria in a nice and calm area of Berlin. The chef and staff are Piemontese and serve authentic Italian dishes that you cannot often eat as a vegan - lasagna, cannelloni, parmigiana… We had the lasagna and it was SO. GOOD. 🥰 the ragù was so so rich and tasty, one of the best lasagne I have ever eaten. Prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes and the quality of the dishes, all made with love. Highly recommend.

The two of us shared the mix plate, then shared two main courses and dessert again. The portions were generous, but we are used to eating a lot ;) So good value for money. Everything was delicious, service was very friendly and the atmosphere was lovely.

Delicious vegan Italian cuisine, we ate the spinach canelloni and the parmigiana. It was very good, I would have actually liked a larger selection or a daily menu, but since the restaurant is very small, that's probably not possible. Drinks (Aperol Sprizz and wine) were very tasty. Prices ok. A lovely owner, happy to come back next time

Very cozy atmosphere, really nice service and really excellent food. We particularly liked the mixed plate as a starter and the lasagna. There is also a very large selection of wines (the Metamorfosi is highly recommended). Come back!

I haven't had such wonderful lasagne since I had to cut milk out of my diet! 😍 really delicious, the wine is great and the service is absolutely warm! I have to come to Berlin more often. 😌

We stopped by here spontaneously and were warmly greeted by the owner before we even entered. We decided on bruschette (6 sandwiches with sesame crust) and then the mixed plate (various antipasti warm and cold). The dishes cost 15 euros each and each one was like a main meal in terms of quantity. So it was very good value for money. However, it would be helpful to point out that it is so much and not just an appetizer. Everything tasted good and we were able to pay by card without any problems (with no minimum spend).

One star is already too many. There was only one other table occupied next to us and two waitresses were absent and we still waited 30 minutes to order. The food was warmed up in the microwave and not freshly cooked and that for €15 per dish. We actually wanted to try dessert but no one came to the table. People preferred to eat at the counter themselves. We had to actively ask to be able to pay. If you're constantly being your own best guest, it certainly won't last long.

A small oasis in cozy Friedenau. We ate the wonderful lasagna and cannelloni with spinach. Lovely Genoese salad on the side. All vegan, delicious! On top of everything, the service was super, pleasant and personal. We look forward to the next time!

It's a shame that the old bar no longer exists. Now everything is impersonal, expensive and without charm.

Das Restaurant war eine Enttäuschung: Der Wein war gut, das Essen nichts. Die Bruschetta auf den billigsten Aufback-Baguettes. Sehr schade, das darf bei 15 € für Bruschetta nicht sein. Habe darauf hingewiesen und mir wurde zugestimmt. Leider kein Entgegenkommen vom Haus.

Wahnsinnig gut - ich liebe es hier! Richtig guter Wein, fantastisches Essen (die Parmigiana ist nicht von dieser Welt - definitely the best in Berlin!) Einer der besten Orte in Berlin um die Nachmittags- und Abendsonne zu genießen! Die Inhaberin ist soooo sympathisch. Italien ist gleich um die Ecke, hier in Friedenau. Es lohnt sich!

Sehr persönlich und freundlich beraten fühlten wir uns sofort in Italien. Extrem leckere Gerichte! Ausreichend. Ich kenne sonst kein Veganes Restaurant mit so hoher Qualität in meiner Umgebung.

We celebrated a big birthday here and everything was exactly how we wanted it. Big enough for 30 people, yet intimate. Food is par excellence and was available the entire time on the buffet. The left overs were our lunch the day after. Clara is super friendly and accommodating. We will definitely think of Grado Babo for our next occasion.

Clara is amazing. She is a wine expert by profession so you can talk to her about different wines. Must go place

Eine kleine Weinbar mit veganem Essen. Wir hatten die Antipasti Platte und waren - obwohl Nicht Veganer - begeistert. Dazu habe ich einen sehr guten offenen Rosé getrunken und mein Freund einen offenen Rotwein, der ihm auch sehr gut gefallen hat. Begeistert waren wir vor allem von der freundlichen jungen Besitzerin. Sie hat uns kompetent beraten.

Ein echt toller Laden! Super Weinauswahl und auch das Essen war echt klasse, obwohl ich kein Veganer bin hat mir alles sehr gut geschmeckt.

Bin selbst kein Veganer, aber das Essen war top und mit Liebe zubereitet. Die Inhaberin ist super sympathisch und kennt sich sehr gut mit Weinen aus.
