We were there on a Saturday evening. It wasn't as busy as it used to be, which is actually a good thing. But I feel it's getting very old. The soup bowls all have significant flaws; I found one that only had one. The same goes for the dessert/ice cream bowls. The plastic ones just look filthy (sorry). The food isn't what it used to be either. It's hard to judge the service, since you get everything yourself, and clearing away plates was usually quite good. The ambiance itself is just not nice anymore, and we didn't feel comfortable there. Bottom line: you should spend a little money, at least for the little things.

Good selection of food (sushi, salads, Asian classics, Mongolian grill, desserts). Unfortunately, we had to wait a while for the food to be refilled, and often the food wasn't even warm enough. Occupancy was rather low that evening. The concept is great, and the included drinks selection leaves nothing to be desired. We'll be back again.

We've been going there for years, and we always enjoy the food. It's not as busy at lunchtime, and there's plenty of parking. The decor and furniture aren't quite as nice as they were when we first started, but that doesn't bother us. It's clean.

The Gourmet Temple in Forchheim has been an institution for solid Asian food at a reasonable price with a perfectly acceptable selection for many years. We prefer to visit the Gourmet Temple during the week at lunchtime because it's not at all crowded and the selection of different dishes, from fried foods to finger foods to various Chinese specialties (vegetarian, with meat, or seafood) to sushi, is more than sufficient. Generally, everything is fresh, well-stocked, and warm. The quality of the sushi is also sometimes better than in some sushi restaurants. The selection of desserts, from cakes to fruit, is also consistently solid. What I find worth mentioning is the above-average selection of cold and hot drinks. There's also a remarkable selection available for beer lovers. Unfortunately, the biggest drawback is the service, which can be quite capricious at times. The owner, in particular, can be in a bad mood depending on his mood, but the staff who take care of clearing up were always very attentive and helpful. All in all, it's still a recommendation for the Forchheim area – you know what you're getting. Not a culinary firework, but solid Asian cuisine that never falters in terms of quality or taste.

I love the Gummetempel in Forchheim! We drive there all the way from Nuremberg because we like it so much – and we've been there several times. The food is incredibly delicious. What I particularly like: The selection is extensive, the food tastes fresh, and the overall atmosphere is very pleasant. I enjoy coming back again and again! A few small things could be improved: The interior of the restaurant is a bit dated – a more modern design would suit the great food. And on busy days, unfortunately, it sometimes takes a little longer for restocking. Once, there was very little sushi, even though I really wanted it – but that's been the exception so far. Nevertheless: For me, the Gummetempel is absolutely top-notch. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

⭐ 1 star A real adventure! Enter the restaurant – no reception, no signage, no one feels responsible. Escape room level 1: Find your own table. Then the buffet: a museum of leftovers. 95% empty, the rest had been reheated for hours. The duck was so dry, it would have passed the MOT. When asked if there was anything more? "No." Sure, why should it be – fresh food is so 2020. Staff playing "extreme hide-and-seek." The only things visible were two friendly busboys – the heroes of the evening, and they get one star from us. You were then allowed to pay at the exit – if you could find it. Conclusion: If you're happy to pay to not eat and be ignored, you'll be happy here. Everyone else: better to stay hungry than disappointed.

The restaurant can't do anything about its guests. Extended families who don't even know proper manners by the book would be a reason not to come back...

This was my first and last time here. The food is okay; there isn't much choice, but it's okay. However, literally all the plates are damaged—pieces are missing everywhere, and it takes forever to find a halfway decent one. The forks are also completely bent. For this price, I think they could really replace the dishes.

We had a reservation. The cashier could have been friendlier, both on the phone and upon arrival. The food is good, but the lines are quite long for a Saturday. Some of the guests are rude, pushing and shoving. Not very pleasant for children. The staff also sometimes barely had a chance to restock the buffet. The waitresses were very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is pleasant. The decor may be showing its age, but it's clean.

Overall, it's delicious and varied, but simply too expensive. It's something you can treat yourself to a few times a year, but not more often. There are cheaper alternatives.

The Gourmet Tempel in Forchheim is a typical all-you-can-eat restaurant with an Asian buffet and grill. The food is solid, but nothing special—a classic selection, as you'd expect from such restaurants. The value for money is worth mentioning: €28 on Sundays includes both food and drinks. If you simply want to fill yourself up and don't expect fine dining, you can't go wrong here.

Good selection and mostly very tasty. Unfortunately, some of the food was a bit cold. Depending on what's going on, the restaurant can be quite noisy.

First we were greeted at the till and had to pay in advance. When we tried the food I lost my appetite. The soup smelled of dishwater and that's exactly what it tasted like. The meat was dry and old, the rice was dry and the sauces simply tasted of nothing. All in all, the man at the till was super and friendly. Secondly, the food was very bad and I didn't even get my money back, but oh well, what can you expect from such run-of-the-mill restaurants? Mass-produced food cooked without love or taste and the service in this restaurant is just as tasteless as the food. I cannot recommend it!

The old man at the cash register wanted money from us straight away without us being able to sit down first. On top of that he was unfriendly. I will never go there again because there were flies on the food. We then complained and were insulted.

You don't have too many choices when it comes to drinks and grills at other buffets. We were always satisfied.

There were 9 of us here today and we reserved in advance. We arrived just after 6pm and it was pretty crowded. That's why I can only recommend reservations. The food from the all-you-can-eat buffet was very tasty and there was quite a lot to choose from. I also think it's great that drinks are included in the price and there's a very large selection! What I didn't like was the amount of fat in the freshly fried items. It wasn't that annoying, but it could have been less. Nevertheless, it tasted very tasty and was served quickly. Also, there wasn't much in the desserts that appealed to me, but it was satisfactory. I find the little chocolate cake incredibly delicious. I can only recommend it! Personally, I think the Asian ambience is really nice and is also wonderful in this restaurant. The staff was neither friendly nor unfriendly, rather neutral, which I don't hold against them as it was busy today. I would like to come again! :)

The first thing that bothered me was that this place smelled like grease when I walked in. The gentleman who paid the bill said that was normal. I don't think it's normal if everyone goes to Chinese after fat first. Second point was there was no duck at all, just buckets of breaded chicken, it was all mostly just fish and the fish didn't taste good. The noodles were not Chinese noodles. This was normal pasta. Lives like porridge Drinks were okay there was enough choice, food was inedible for me and the service came every 5 minutes. I cleared the table, it was annoying, we had the guard dogs standing in the corner, I thought it was terrible. So after within 10 minutes I won't go there again and some of the food is ice cold

Great selection of food including exotic dishes on special days. The variety of different drinks from pretty much every brand is particularly impressive. Highly recommended in terms of taste and selection! The language barriers and the friendliness of the employees could be a little better. Otherwise great shop. I'd love to come back.

Delicious food.. big selection.. you can leave the cleanliness. , I could now list so many things that were delicious... ------------------------------------------------------ From October 2024, new prices will now be imposed on you for 2 drinks, but you will pay 3 euros more per person. Duck is also becoming less and less... and 15 € was already a lot... but I think whoever is greedy will lose out in the end... fewer and fewer guests come... 3 stars have to be enough.

The Gourmet Temple is highly recommended. The food is very tasty and the selection is simply huge. There is something for every taste. The ambience is also great. It is very inviting and offers plenty of space for larger celebrations. You receive a friendly welcome and the price for the buffet is also reasonable. I would eat there again anytime if I'm in the area.

Very large and good selection of food. When choosing to have the food fried, a slight "shrinkage" can be expected, but that's not a bad thing. There is also a lot on offer for dinner at €32 per person (with drinks valid Friday to Sunday and on public holidays). Tip: Lunch buffet and reservation (11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for €18 or €28 depending on the day)

So the food was ok. But the organization was a disaster. We had reserved for 44 guests and there were only 40 seats.

Always go there for Lunch on Saturday. With 18Euro, nothing can ne complained. The variety of the food is good enough. The variety of drinks is amazing. The warm dishes are tasty and the quality stays stable. With 18 euros all you can eat, all you can drink, it is high quality for such amount of money in the restaurant.

We ate here on February 14, 2025. Were received very unfriendly even though we had reserved. We were given a piece of paper with a number and sent to find our table. When we then asked the staff (not exactly friendly) about our table, she looked very surprised and then gave us another seat (coordination is out of place here). There's no need to speak too much about the food, the food was far too greasy. But you can enjoy drinks here.

Went to the lunch buffet with the family at the Gourmet Tempel in Forchheim at the weekend. The selection of food is large. However, the food is sometimes lukewarm by the time you get to the place. Furthermore, the food tastes very greasy.. The meat buffet, which you can have fried, sometimes took a very long time or took too long, even though the grill was sometimes empty, the plates were still on the counter without being fried.. At the end we ate dessert and drank coffee. The coffee, whether cappuccino coffee etc., was much too strong.

It's good but there are better ones ^^ The buffet is a bit small because there are too many people waiting in line.

Das Personal ist der deutschen Sprache nicht wirklich mächtig, ist sehr schwer zu verstehen, was nicht weiter schlimm wäre, denn wir waren zum Essen dort, nicht für Konversationen. Was allerdings gar nicht geht: aufgrund der mangelnden Sprachkenntnisse entstand ein harmloses Missverständnis, aufgrund dessen das Personal, inklusive des Chefs, völlig unselbstkritisch und unreflektiert aggressiv wurde, uns vor den irritierten anderen Gästen anbrüllte und uns dann aus dem Lokal warf. Wir gehen regelmäßig essen, so eine Unverschämtheit haben wir noch nie erlebt. Wie man hier in den anderen Bewertungen lesen kann, ist die Unfreundlichkeit des Personals bereits legendär; bei uns allerdings hat sie vermutlich ihren bisherigen unrühmlichen Höhepunkt erreicht. Für die höchstens durchschnittliche Qualität des Essens, muss man diese Aufregung kein zweites Mal in Kauf nehmen.

The staff doesn't really speak German and is very difficult to understand, which wouldn't be a problem because we were there to eat, not to have conversations. What is not possible, however: due to the lack of language skills, a harmless misunderstanding arose, as a result of which the staff, including the boss, became completely unselfish and unreflectively aggressive, shouted at us in front of the irritated other guests and then threw us out of the restaurant. We go out to eat regularly and have never experienced such impudence. As you can read here in the other reviews, the unfriendliness of the staff is already legendary; With us, however, it has probably reached its most inglorious peak. For the average quality of the food at best, you don't have to put up with this excitement a second time.

We had already made reservations by phone for New Year's Eve for 8 people 6 weeks in advance. Our reservation went under. So we had to spontaneously look for food for 8 people at 8:30 p.m. on New Year's Eve. What a shame.

Very nice big restaurant. Food very good. Attentive wait staff, tables are cleared quickly. Broken plates and cutlery needed to be replaced. A tip box for employees would be nice.

It wasn't our first time here and we were always satisfied. The price-performance ratio was right. But today it was really anything but good, we had reserved for 6 people because it was my wife's birthday for 8 p.m. As usual, we arrive and pay in advance for the buffet and all you can eat and drink, at least €64 for two people. We sit down and wait about 10 minutes for the rest of our party. As usual, we were looking forward to a rich and great range of food. When we were complete we started and made the first round at the buffet in feudal anticipation. Luckily there wasn't that much going on. But when we were all back at the table after the first round, we noticed one or two long faces. But we assured each other that more would definitely be added to the buffet soon because the restaurant is still open for at least another hour and a half. When the first ones set off for the second round at less than 8:50 p.m., we noticed that not even one bowl had been refilled. When I asked politely whether one or two things could be refilled, I was told by one of the waitresses that the kitchen was already closing time and that it was finished. And be careful, O Ton, you first have to show me the invoice that you paid. I then told the lady that I found this behavior and this statement very unclear. And went back to the table to report what had just happened. Mind you, we weren't the only table still occupied in the restaurant. But I think such behavior is really a shame and we wish we could have been told on the phone when the kitchen was closing. But I think you can certainly invest your money better elsewhere! So we probably won't come back after this performance!

I don't understand the praise here. We've often heard that the one in Forheim is so good. And yesterday we experienced the opposite of good. Visually the food looks really good, lots of choice but taste! Everything is over-seasoned, duck tastes like cheap chicken nuggets. Meat for the Mongolian barbecue floats in bowls with oil. Why?? Probably so you can't eat so much of it? Everything is generally very greasy. And the worst thing - the sauces contain glutamate, I have an intolerance and I can taste it straight away. This morning I had a terrible headache because of it. The only positive thing is the selection of drinks. So this was the first and last visit for us, we'd rather eat in Bamberg again.

I was there for dinner. For me there is enough choice of different dishes. Everyone has to judge for themselves whether the all-you-can-eat is right for them for the price or not, for me the price fits what I ate. Nice staff, clean, tidy and quick to clear up. Gladly again.

The Gourmet Temple deserves its name. Great selection of fresh and unusual meats, fish, seafood, vegetables, ready-made dishes, desserts... And drinks are also included in the buffet price, which is really reasonable per person. The ladies in service are very quick and the used plates were cleared away quickly. Really recommended. But you almost definitely have to make a reservation (especially on weekends).

Saturday 5.30 p.m. The wild mob is lining up across the parking lot. The receptionists have the zodiac sign of turtle. An hour of waiting has quickly passed before you sit at the table. You will be charged before you are allowed to feed. And when you see the buffet, you immediately know why you pay here first. A small buffet with warm dishes for countless hungry people. The conditions in a beef cattle farm are more pleasant. And probably the food too. Unfortunately, the food doesn't have much of a classic Chinese flavor. Sushi and Mongolian are ok but not outstanding either. A plate didn't reach us anymore. The selection of drinks is okay and there are also 3 alcoholic drinks. Probably for distraction. There isn't much on offer for children. Neither food nor entertainment. The tables are placed far too closely. This makes it almost impossible to get through the hallways and step on other people's jackets. We don't need it again...

A wide range of ready-made and freshly prepared dishes. The fixed price including drinks makes it easy to calculate your budget. However, it would be very desirable that you receive the selected dishes after they have been prepared and not some of those of another guest.

Edit 2024: Still a great selection, as well as regional beer specialties and numerous types of wine. Not recommended at peak times, more likely during the week. In terms of price, it is only recommended if you really eat and drink a lot, otherwise a la carte is worth more elsewhere. However, you can try everything once.
