Gotti Pizza in Saarbrücken

The pizza was fantastic, just as it should be. I wouldn't recommend the salad. It was presented without any care, and the quality was unappealing. A salad should be tossed with the dressing, not just had the dressing poured on top. I'll come back for the pizza.

Complete disappointment - delivery via Uber, improper handling of the boxes, all pizza toppings had shifted or were loose in the boxes, all pizzas were cold.

Update 12/28/25: Today was a complete disappointment. My pesto pizza was so drowned in oil that it was inedible. The tomatoes on the pizza were also incredibly oily, and the sheer amount of oil made me feel nauseous just from eating it. The dough was so soggy that the oil was already dripping off. It was absolutely unacceptable! I told the waiter, but nobody seemed to care. Perfect pizzas with great, varied, and slightly different toppings. Super fluffy crust, just as it should be. Not greasy at all! Simply delicious. Very friendly and attentive service. We'll definitely be back!

I went back to this restaurant and ordered the same pizza (as the pictures show). Unfortunately, there was so much parsley on it that it didn't taste good at all. The two of us had to share one pizza. I asked the staff what had changed in the last year. "Nothing at all," was the answer. The staff became unfriendly, so I didn't want to leave a tip, which I told them. Unfortunately, I didn't get my change back, and even though I said goodbye, I didn't get a reply. One more thing: Even though I was there with a child, I had to wait 45 minutes for the food. The whole thing is a real shame; I won't be going back.

I came here on a recommendation. The pizza was really good! Light and airy dough, high-quality toppings, and beautifully baked! Delicious! The waiter was very friendly, and the place is cozy! I'll definitely come back when I'm in Saarbrücken.

The map was a bit confusing, but you can still find your way around, which is fine. I think instructions on the map would be helpful for those who aren't familiar with the menu. Unfortunately, there were cockroaches in the restaurant. Otherwise, the pizza was excellent.

The food is one thing; the pizza is unique and delicious, but it's also quite pricey. However, the ambiance didn't appeal to me. I didn't find it cozy. The chairs are awful, the space is bare and uninviting, so you're not encouraged to linger. The service was basically limited to taking our initial order, serving the pizza, and clearing the plates. Not once were we asked if we wanted anything else, like a coffee or an espresso, nothing. A few of us were able to order a single drink, but even then, no one asked if we wanted anything, and the server disappeared as quickly as they had appeared. They seemed quite unenthusiastic. This could definitely be done much better, and all of this significantly detracted from the overall impression, which is a shame.

Unfortunately, I was incredibly disappointed today. I wanted to take my guests to the best pizzeria in Saarbrücken, but we had a terrible experience. Even though we were the only customers at the time, the service was poor. The server was very dismissive and didn't take any time for us. A few of my guests didn't speak German, which is why it took them a while to order. The server didn't seem to speak English either, and although I did my best to help, my attempts were ignored. The server's frustration was palpable, and my guests wondered if the server's bad mood was due to their being foreigners. Initially, some of my guests who arrived later were only asked about drinks without being given the chance to place a proper order. This is particularly relevant because, when it came time to pay, the server claimed that they couldn't charge the full price for the lunch menu, as they couldn't have known my guests would want to eat. That was the far-fetched excuse when I inquired about the meal, which was actually the lunch menu. But the server insisted on charging €17 instead of the usual €13. As for the ambiance, the smell of toilet cleaner at our table was incredibly strong, so much so that we had to open the windows, wrinkling our noses in disbelief. When that wasn't enough, and we asked the server if it would be possible to close the toilet door, we were met with a sulky response. I just wonder how no one noticed how strong the smell was. You could smell it as soon as you walked in. Regarding the ambiance, the smell was incredibly strong at our table, so we had to open the windows. It makes me very sad to give this bad review, because otherwise I have always been thrilled with this restaurant on every visit and the pizza still tasted fantastic as usual despite the service.

Good pizza place. You can get real pizza from the high temperature oven here. Prices are OK, pizza with toppings costs ~15€. Highly recommend their berry lemonade!

Only after I sent my invoice to Google was it confirmed that my criticism was justified, and the review was reinstated. It's pretty brazen and disappointing that they're apparently trying to suppress honest customer feedback. This kind of thing unfortunately doesn't reflect well on how they handle criticism. Very tasty and high-quality Neapolitan pizzas. However, if I order without ricotta, I feel completely ripped off as a customer when this seems to be forgotten and the ricotta is then half-heartedly removed afterward. That's completely unacceptable.

I rarely leave reviews, but I really wanted to write one this time. Today I had one of the most delicious pizzas I’ve ever tried — seriously, it was so good! 🍕 However, the restaurant itself was very dirty. The toilets had a terrible smell, and even my 7-year-old daughter said she couldn’t understand how such amazing pizza could come from a place that smells so bad. The tables were sticky and dirty, with cup stains on them, and no one seemed to care. Orders were taken, but the tables weren’t cleaned. Please, I truly want to come back for your great pizza, but it’s really unpleasant to eat it in a place that smells like that. Thank you for understanding — I hope things get better soon!

Very disappointing. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it. We had a reservation for 6:15 p.m. at the Gotti restaurant in Saarbrücken and arrived shortly after 6 p.m. After ordering our drinks, we asked for a moment before ordering our food. However, no one came to our table until about 6:40 p.m., and we were only able to order after actively asking. During this time, our table was repeatedly overlooked while other tables were served. The service that evening seemed inexperienced and overwhelmed. Several guests waited a long time for drinks, and at neighboring tables, people even reached for their own cutlery. I've worked in the restaurant industry for 15 years and have rarely experienced such a cluster of oversights. Unfortunately, the food didn't impress us either. The appetizer for two was good and plentiful. However, the Neapolitan pizzas (€16-17 each) arrived, in our opinion, half-raw/doughy, slightly cooled, and rubbery in texture. As an Italian who appreciates good pizza, this was particularly disappointing. Instead of a special evening, we were left with an unpleasant feeling. We also had stomach problems later on (we can't say for sure whether this was related to the food). Based on this visit, we unfortunately cannot recommend the restaurant. I also find it particularly strange that so many negative reviews are constantly being reported.

Ghotti sells Neapolitan pizzas of average quality. The price-performance ratio is definitely decent. During my visits, I always had the impression that the employees were annoyed by the customers. That's a shame, and in my opinion, doesn't reflect good service. Therefore, there's room for improvement in this area.

Authentic Italian pizza. There are many options; I recommend the Margherita and Capri pizzas. The staff is also very friendly, and the location is lovely.

Online reviews should promote transparency, not censorship. -1 Star because of that behaviour The concept is nice and the setting is pleasant, no complaints there (maybe a bit noisy). However, I’ve been disappointed several times with the pizzas: they often come out undercooked, with the base too soggy, giving the impression the dough isn’t fully baked. On my last visit, I was even refused a table because the kitchen was “overloaded,” and was told the only option was takeaway… which doesn’t make much sense. A shame, because it spoils the experience. I’ll think twice before going back.

The pizza is very good, but unfortunately, that's about it. The shop itself is very loud and uncomfortable, and the employees are completely overwhelmed. Unfortunately, there are simply too few staff on site. If I ever go back, I'll pick up a pizza to go.

The pizza's taste is positive. Fior Di Latte and San Marzano tomatoes are high-quality ingredients, traditionally used in Neapolitan pizzas. However, the price is still high considering the materials used. The fact that chili oil costs an extra €1 also suggests that the offer is aimed at customers with a corresponding willingness to pay, rather than a matter of making a fair offer. This impression became apparent when a group of three of us asked for a table without a reservation and were told that everything was full. The group of four, who arrived 30 seconds later and, according to their own statements, also had no reservation, were offered a table immediately. Of course, this is understandable from a business perspective, but it leaves a certain aftertaste. I think it's a shame that my colleague's review was removed as defamation. That is also the only reason I am describing my experience. I feel it is unfair to other restaurateurs when such unfair practices distort competition.

The pizzas are truly excellent, true Neapolitans, just the way we like them. The only downside: the lighting in the restaurant, a little too dark for my taste.

It was my first time there; I really wanted to try a Neopolitan pizza, and Gotti didn't disappoint. The food was amazing, tasted amazing, definitely one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten. The service was very friendly, nice, and accommodating. The atmosphere was fine; we sat in the courtyard. Everything was clean and tidy, but honestly, it wasn't anything special, but it doesn't need to be, given the food. I highly recommend it.

Unfortunately, customer service is a low priority here. Three of us arrived and weren't seated, with the explanation that there wasn't enough space for three. While we were still standing there, a group of four came and said they didn't have a reservation. They were seated right away without hesitation. So, it seems the only thing they care about here is filling up all the seats so they can maximize their profits. The place is also extremely expensive, and even small extras that other places simply add to the pizza are charged at a high price here. I wouldn't be surprised if even a pinch of salt adds up to a higher bill.

We were a large group, and after ordering, we waited over an hour for our pizzas. Then one less came. After we complained, the wrong one arrived. As an apology, we were offered a drink – great when you're hungry. The pizzas tasted OK, but not great. There are definitely better Neapolitan pizzas in Saarland. We paid immediately after eating and left. This was our second visit, and the second time it was a disappointment. We won't be back.

Seven of us were there as a group for a birthday party. Unfortunately, we had to wait an hour for our ordered pizzas to arrive. Then, however, six pizzas arrived, and mine was unfortunately completely missing. The waiter noticed this but didn't comment further. We were sitting facing the pizza oven and then saw the reason for the missing pizza: it had apparently been in the oven a little too long and was uniformly black. Well, at that point, they could have briefly pointed it out to the customer; I definitely would have been understanding. Unfortunately, nothing happened for another 20 minutes. When I then asked the waiter again when my pizza would arrive (the rest of the table was almost finished eating), I was told it would take a little while. Up to that point, there was still no explanation or apology. When my pizza finally arrived for the rest of the table, almost 30 minutes late, the topping wasn't what I had ordered. As I walked toward the waiter with my plate, one of the pizza chefs shouted at me that they had to use substitute ingredients because they were out of the original ones. I would have accepted this point as well if they had asked me beforehand. I politely declined the pizza and left the restaurant. To top it all off, the waiter then tried to bill my husband for my pizza. Unfortunately, for me, the restaurant failed on every level. It's a real shame, because we've heard a lot of good things about it, but under these circumstances, I definitely won't be returning to this restaurant again.

Disastrous service. Reserved a table at 6:15 p.m., ordered three small pizzas and a side salad. After over half an hour, there was still nothing at the table, no clear answers to questions, just stupid comments. All the pizzas were wrong—we didn't even get them. In the end, we just got up and left without eating anything. Never again.

ABSOLUTE NO-GO – Never again! The table was reserved for 6:15 PM. The restaurant was half empty at that time – so no excuse of "busy." We ordered three pizzas and a simple side salad. Doesn't sound complicated, does it? But what followed was a prime example of complete failure across the board: The side salad took a long time to arrive – we politely asked several times (!). Instead of a normal response, the waiter only offered mocking, unprofessional nonsense. No apology, no update, just bad jokes, which no one needs when their stomachs are rumbling. After a full HOUR of waiting (!) – while all the guests who arrived AFTER us had already eaten – we approached the waiter again. Only then did the manager arrive, around 7:10 PM, and at least he apologized – but by then the damage had already been done. And then the crowning glory: At 7:30 p.m. – over an hour after ordering – the boss himself arrived... with three incorrect pizzas. That was the moment when we simply got up and left. No food, no desire, no understanding whatsoever. Conclusion: Disorganized, rude, unprofessional. The servers were a disaster, communication was nonexistent, and the kitchen was obviously overwhelmed – even with the restaurant almost empty. That's not how you treat guests. Never again.

The pizzas are simply perfect – with varied and sometimes unusual toppings. The crust is nice and fluffy, just right. All in all, very tasty! The service is friendly and attentive.

I am absolutely satisfied with everything. The pizza was very tasty and I received it relatively quickly.

The The quality of the food was good, but the bottom of the pizza was very burnt and you could taste the burnt flavor. It would be better if the menu was available in English.

Unfortunately, we had to wait over half an hour before we were even asked if we wanted a drink, even though it was barely busy that day. We found that very disappointing. On the positive side, however, the food came very quickly and was truly delicious! I personally missed some salt and pepper, but they were brought to us immediately after a quick request 👍 There is one negative point, however, regarding the restroom: There is only one women's restroom, which is used by both women and men. Unfortunately, it was very dirty and completely covered in urine during our visit. That was really unpleasant.

For a price of €16-17 per pizza, this is completely unacceptable. For me, as an Italian who appreciates good pizza, this was particularly disappointing. Instead of a pleasant evening, we were left with only an unpleasant feeling and, unfortunately, stomach upset. Given this experience, I unfortunately cannot recommend the restaurant.

The pizza here is surprisingly good! Interesting flavors, delicious base and toppings. I especially recommend the "Beppa" pizza! The place has a lovely atmosphere, and in good weather you can sit outside. As for the service... The beginning, right up until the moment the food arrived, was great. Unfortunately, I felt like we were completely forgotten; no one came to ask if everything was okay. After eating, we waited a long time; it wasn't busy, and yet no one from the staff showed up. We asked for the bill, but after a while we just had to go inside and pay. We'll probably come back because it's the best pizza in Saarbrücken, but unfortunately, we're not happy with the service. Too bad. Edit: The Parmigiana and Carbonara are absolutely delicious!!! The service has improved :) With each subsequent visit, I'm more and more satisfied with the service and the quality of the food. The drinks are very good.

We had reserved a table for two online starting at 8:00 PM, but we still had to wait in line. The waitress at the counter was responsible for both seat reservations and payments, which explains the wait. They were understaffed. A card terminal is inadequate for a restaurant of this size. We also don't approve of the practice of not allowing guests to pay at the table. We weren't escorted to our table; we were asked to choose a table ourselves. Accordingly, we weren't even introduced to the waitress, and it took almost a quarter of an hour for our order to be taken. We ordered drinks, a "Carpaccio alle Fragole" (8 EUR) appetizer, and two pizzas all in one sitting. Meanwhile, the restaurant was emptying. At around 8:35 PM, a "Black Angus Beef Carpaccio" (16 EUR) was served. We returned it. The complaint process itself proved to be unproblematic. However, it took some time before the correct appetizer was served. By the time the pizza arrived, it was 9:30 p.m. It's incomprehensible that you don't get a glass with your bottled beer, and not even on the first and second request, but only on the third. The staff showed understanding and invited us to have two glasses of Crémant. The intention was very friendly, but in our case, it would have been better to ask what we wanted, since neither of us drink alcohol, and it's not to be assumed that everyone enjoys it. Then, when paying (at the counter!), we were disappointed: They charged us €16 for the beef carpaccio instead of €8 for the strawberry carpaccio. Even though we had immediately complained about the discrepancy, the bill now reads "Black Angus Beef Carpaccio" for €8. Concrete suggestions for improvement for management: 1. More staff; Your service staff may be friendly, but they are hopelessly overwhelmed. There is simply a lack of manpower. 2. Improve the payment process, especially by offering the option to pay at the table (no magic in the age of SumUp, etc.). The staff, and thus the restaurant as a whole, had reached capacity at the time of our visit. It would be appropriate to stop accepting reservations and turn away interested guests – and to improve your business's capacity in further steps, as there is no shortage of interest. The pizza is good, but we still won't be coming back.

I ate here for the first and last time two years ago with my former work colleagues, as the place had been recommended to us. Unfortunately, I have to say that the pizza's reputation didn't live up to its promise, and we were all a bit disappointed. Normally, I didn't want to write a review and kept quiet the whole time. But now, especially since I work in a company where reviews are very important, I just have to speak out. The price/performance ratio was definitely not worth it, and I also have to say that I find several of the responses to Gotti's previous reviews, especially here on Google, extremely unprofessional, and most of them have a very passive-aggressive undertone. I think this definitely needs to be addressed as a whole.

Unfortunately, the waitresses didn't notice, and our food only arrived after we asked for it. The waitresses were also difficult to reach, which didn't make the whole experience any better. We were just pretty unlucky that evening.

AMAZING! The best pizza I’ve had in Germany! The prices are really good, super friendly staff, and such a nice place to sit in. I'm so happy to find places that bring life to Saarbrücken. Also, I noticed the yellow and red EU symbol on the menu that it means they use products with protected designation of origin, like authentic Neapolitan ingredients. That explains the amazing quality and taste!

First class service. Attentive and very quick. The staff are very friendly! The dishes are incredibly tasty and since I was only in Naples in March I can say that the pizza really tastes like it came from there! The only point of criticism is the atmosphere, it is very loud and therefore less comfortable.

I ordered a pizza on April 6. The lady who served me said that they no longer had that pizza, but recommended another similar one. I said that was fine. Then she mentioned that although the pizza had spicy salami, they could remove it. I said, don’t remove it—replace it with non-spicy salami. She replied that they could only do that for an extra fee. I said I dont accept the extra fee, then I would like another pizza instead—the Pizza Parmigiana. When the pizza arrived, it had extremely spicy sauce and was covered with spicy red pepper powder. This story says everything about the quality and level of service at this restaurant.

Now I've finally managed to test the store. Since I was in Naples and the surrounding area three years ago, I have seen pizzas with different eyes. I was even more relaxed before the visit and I have to say that for the first time there is actually a pizza here that comes close to the pizzas in Naples. This is by far the best pizza you can find in Saarland, at least what I've tried so far, and that's a lot that doesn't really need to be mentioned. The price performance is also reasonable, which is very pleasing considering the quality.

Best pizza that I’ve had in Saarland or Rheinland-Pfalz! Attentive service. Perfectly cooked pizzas with artisanal toppings and thoughtful combinations.

We live in Germany for 3 years and this is the second time we have eaten such a delicious pizza. Perfect dough, toppings, very friendly service and a very short waiting time for the order. I highly recommend it and if we are ever in town again we will definitely drop by!

Thanks to this restaurant, the art of Neapolitan pizza has now arrived in Saarbrücken for a long time. Located directly on the pedestrian zone, you can get a very good selection of pizza classics as well as delicious new creations in a friendly atmosphere. We were there on a busy day, but that didn't detract from the friendliness of the staff. But the friendliness couldn't completely cover up the stress, you could already tell. However, the waiting times were quite long. We ordered the truffle parmesan bruschetta, which was delicious. In contrast to the pictures on the website, there was no truffle sliced ​​on it. A first setback. In addition, the tables at the back of the extra room are the entrance to the toilet and, for the staff, to the dishwasher (?), in any case there is a lot of activity here. Cozy is different, and a cool neon sign doesn't help either. In particular, the service staff always takes far too many dishes and then can't open the door, so either the guests have to help or half of the dishes simply fall down. There was no noticeable learning effect in this regard during our stay.

Pizzeria Gotti is highly recommended • The homemade pizza is served fresh from the wood-fired oven and contains high-quality ingredients • There are also always new special pizzas that are highly recommended

The pizzas are good, the menu is quite clear, you have to pay at the checkout. Ambiance is all black, it wouldn't be my taste.

Pizza is very good, but also expensive, which is justified by the exclusive ingredients. Staff could be more attentive if you want to order something else, and if there are several people, don't just ask one person. Drinks menu is also quite small, I miss the variety, especially coffee, which unfortunately didn't taste good at all. It is well attended, which is a sign of the good quality of the pizza, but it is very noisy as a result. I also find the high stools without backrests inconvenient for eating, which lowers the overall rating. Pick-up service would be happy again, consumption on site is no longer possible.

Pizza now consists almost entirely of dough. Price-performance is not right at all. Service doesn't know about the dishes. Allergens not declared on the menu. The toilet is more than dirty, but in the dark atmosphere it's not noticeable at first glance.

Pizza Carbonara was simply amazing!

Had salad as a starter but was brought with pizza at the same time. Complaint ended in a discussion and I was told that you have to say that you have to have a starter before the main course. Most people would do it that way... Well, where we normally eat, you don't have to do that, I've never heard of it or experienced it? When we wanted to pay, a nice gentleman from the service said that I didn't have to pay for the salad, which was very fair because my pizza also got cold. At the checkout, the other employee “stepped up” again and started a new discussion and lecture. This was unbelievable and impossible, actually brazen and outrageous, since everything had been settled. I've known Gotti since he opened the shop, unfortunately the pizza is getting worse and worse. The mega pizza crust is also getting thicker and the prices are rising (toppings are becoming less and less due to the ultra thick crust). There are no prices on the drinks menu and no additives are declared on the menu. We, my wife and I, will no longer enter this store. It's unbelievable what individual employees (are allowed to?) allow themselves. Thanks again to the individual nice people, I think he understood us and we didn't have to pay part of it. Complaints are otherwise apparently and presumably not a training topic in the store... This is a personal report and everything corresponds to my personal opinion and understanding.
