Gosch Restaurant in Timmendorfer Strand

GOSCH is actually always great and delicious 😋 we have eaten there in various cities.

We were there today, I made a mistake and ordered pasta with salmon. The pasta looked as if it had been prepared 3 days ago, completely dried out, but if someone thinks “aldente” no, this is far from it, the sauce is practically absent, the taste is also very not tasty, despite the fact that I was hungry!

Everything fine. Haven't had any bad experiences so far. Good service

Gosch - always a good address for fish lovers!

Unfortunately not convincing. The Gosch in Timmendorfer Strand is centrally located in the town center. Basically it makes a really nice impression with some tables and beach chairs outside. The food was good, but not great as we know it from before. In terms of price, it is above the level of surrounding restaurants, even though it is self-service. Unfortunately, the staff at the drinks counter weren't particularly friendly either, but the highlight was the question of entering a tip when paying by credit card. For what? We got our own food, the empty dishes weren't cleared away and we also got drinks. So overall not a highlight for us.

There is no service outside. There are 3 counters where you can order yourself. But definitely not everything at one counter. There is no mixer drink outside. You have to get them indoors, but they were non-carbonated. By the way, you have to get food from the other counter. So when in full operation, turn it on 3 times and carry everything yourself. It's better somewhere else...

Unfortunately it has worn off a lot! Starting with the fish roll, MATJES-ONION BREAD, it's not even enough for a lettuce leaf. Service in the KIOSK, well... seats in the beach chairs were pretty dirty. We hope things get better again.

Wonderful sandwiches with different fish - herring, salmon, nordic. Fresh and tasty - goes great with beer!

Fish and shrimp were too dull and grilled for far too long. Salad is a joke.....plus ready-made fries and ready-made sauces...very unfriendly staff......never again

Unclean, unfriendly. The food no longer tastes good. I remembered Gosch very differently.

I know Gosch, so I was even more surprised here. The service was good, but unfortunately the fish was fried to death and seasoned without any orientation. We had fried fish once and pan fish once, both unfortunately disappointing.

We have been “Goschers” for many years but are now appalled by the quality of the food. The plaice was simply dripping with fat, carelessly served with diced bacon in the middle and a mini salad on the side. Fine fish platter just as carelessly prepared, fish completely dry. Fish & chips were tasteless. The fish was most likely fried the second time, as dark and dry as it was. Fries just as dry without salt. And then paid over €60 including Alster and apple spritzer (at a self-service restaurant). Drinks and ambience are good, but in our opinion the food is unreasonable for the price. When we asked for a high chair, we were told by an employee “cleaning things up” (you won’t be able to find a waiter these days) that there were only three high chairs and that we should keep our eyes open ourselves.

We sat in a beach chair in the bright sunshine, ate and drank very heartily. We really liked it and would love to come back.

My fried fish was dry, as were the fried potatoes. When paying for the drinks, I noticed that the card payment machine started with two options, enter a tip or round up, and that's when you pick it up from the bar, mh.

Unfriendly staff and overpriced for mediocre food. Unfortunately our visit to this restaurant was a disappointment. For the price I would have expected better quality. Unfortunately we won't be coming back.

The fish sandwiches to go are shameful and unloving. Not recommended.

More than overpriced fish sandwiches. Cheap rolls, more onion than fish. Never again.

We had a smoked salmon roll and a herring roll... the roll was probably a bit older and I thought there was a bit of salmon in it... but that might also be a matter of perspective... the herring roll was better (fresher) but the fish was too tough... a shame

Unfortunately it is no longer the Gosch it once was. There are Afghans working in this place who have no idea what they are doing and so the fish tastes very, very sad, many have complained but nothing has changed. It's just a franchise and that's how a name gets ruined. In any case, we won't go there anymore.

Then prefer Gosch in Travemünde. Unfortunately very unfriendly staff and not child-friendly welcome. The same people always sit in the seats for hours and sip their first Aperol.

Not good today, April 17, 2025. We know Gosch Sylt, Travemünde, Heiligenhafen and Timmendorfer Strand. The fried potatoes were too cold, the fries were very “mushy”. Since the staff is always fluctuating and the food is otherwise consistently good, today was disappointing.

Habe sowas seid 20 Jahren nicht bei Gosch erlebt! Das Personal hat bei der Ausgabe einer falsch Bestellung (Ihrer Seids) einen Ton bei Reklamation erwiedert der nicht in Ordnung ist. Echt erschreckend und beängstigend! Der Geschäftsführer wurde von mir über diesen Vorfall informiert! Ich überlege mir weiterhin dort in meinen weiteren Urlauben weiter essen zu gehen!

Fisch Brötchen und Getränke geht so , der Rest ist enttäuschend und nicht so richtig GOSCH , das kennen wir anders. Einiges ist auch sicherlich renovierungsbedürftig.

I didn't like it at all. The plaice fillet was dripping with fat and so were the fried potatoes. My wife's currywurst was lukewarm. I only give the star for clean toilets. Furthermore, there is no table service. So it's more like a canteen than a restaurant.

Unfriendly staff, no coolers available for the bottle of white wine we bought, and no trays to carry your drinks including glasses to the table. Then the realization: the coolers are used here as decoration rather than for the actual purpose of cool drinks. We think it's a nice idea, but who would drink a whole bottle of wine on ex? Or room temperature white wine? The table was also dirty. Unfortunately not a good poster child for the “legendary”?! Gosch…

Catastrophe, the 2nd time! Thaipenne cold and in Matje's housewife style there was no housewife sauce but sour cream! When I asked for the "right" sauce I was told it was the right sauce, I said it wasn't but was sent away. My husband asked for his Thai penne to be warmed and was only met with a roll of his eyes and then warmed the penne briefly in the microwave! Such an impossible thing! When I asked at the concession stand, I was told that of course there was housewife-style sauce. He then ran and got me hot fried potatoes and the right sauce. However, I was already full from the fish. Nevertheless, thanks to the very hard-working waiter! It's a shame that it can no longer be compared with before, the quality falls by the wayside, unfortunately only mass production!

Today I was served by an older gentleman from the stand, unfortunately he didn't think it was necessary to put extra garlic dip on it for me even though I pointed this out to him several times. Instead he said they were pickled so nothing had to be added. He probably doesn't think much of the customer anymore, the other two younger colleagues did a great job and responded to all requests.

My fried fish was a complete disaster. They probably used old grease. My companion's shrimp was good, but we were cheated. We ordered and paid for a large portion and received a small one. There was no response to the complaint. There are 2 stars for the super nice service staff. The rest doesn't get a star. It's unbelievable that the locations are so different! In any case, we won't go here anymore. In Scharbeutz it is tens of times better.

Just Gosh. Always the same, but always equally good. And compared to the prices of the other local stores, it's just "cheap".

We really really liked it. The food was rich and very freshly prepared. We had different dishes and they all looked and tasted very appealing. The service was very attentive. We had a dog with us and a bowl of water was immediately brought to him. During the meal we asked if everything was OK. After the meal, the plates were quickly cleared away. We definitely recommend Gosch Timmendorf.

Very tasty crispy fish sandwiches

Onion rings are so big, I can make onion soup with them. Priced too high for this quality.

Gosch in Timmendorfer Strand is highly recommended, delicious food, delicious drinks, especially the Aperol spritzz and the various wines are highly recommended. My favorite is the Pinot Gris. The herring with fried potatoes and salad is also a real culinary delight. In addition, the prices at Gosch are very reasonable, so red fruit jelly with vanilla sauce and rice pudding round off the dinner. The employees do a great job, are always in a good mood and when the bell rings at the cash register, there is a tip. Please keep it up. Gosch in Timmendorfer Strand is simply part of a perfect Baltic Sea holiday.

Delicious food, otherwise very crowded and very loud.

Recommended for a glass of wine in a modern setting. Gosch is an upscale self-service snack bar. Depending on the crew, the food is sometimes better, and sometimes something is forgotten. Overall, it's manageable; if you complain, you're always offered a new meal without any problems.

Whoa, loud as if it were a train station in there, parents everywhere with completely unmannered behavior without any behavior. Even our little daughter found it scary. This is more of a fast food restaurant than anything else.

Hmm, Gosch St. Peter much better. There wasn't even cucumber salad.

I ordered a fish soup. Unfortunately the other soups were already gone. The soup wasn't particularly warm and tasted pretty bland. I have never eaten such tasteless fish soup. Is really not recommended. I can recommend the fried fish instead. This tasted good and so did the potato salad.

The kitchen was closed at 7:40 p.m. without prior notice, although this does not meet the usual standards of recent years. The food seemed carelessly warmed up and was far too oily. It's a shame because I was used to much better service.

The food is great as always, but it's sad that you get warmed up noodles 1 hour before closing time. Furthermore, it's a shame that the management decided to close the kitchen before 9 p.m. because there weren't enough paying customers on site. This was given as an answer when asked. It appears that a new licensee has taken over the location. We have been used to better service and customer satisfaction for years. Since our last 2 visits this has sadly declined rapidly. Management should focus on customers instead of the profits on the account.

The fried potatoes were cold, the salad had brown edges, the supposedly Steinbeisser was soft and watery with no taste, I'm a Gosch fan, but that doesn't work at all, not even in a fast food chain

At first we were "afraid" because we didn't know what to expect in terms of price. But we were pleasantly surprised. The food was very good and the prices were reasonable for the dishes on offer. We even went to Gosch a second time during our short vacation and were not disappointed. Any time.

Service took a while but was nice. Fish and chips have often been eaten in much better portion sizes and are tastier. The fish rolls were mediocre, rather poor value for money for me.

Food was okay, the fried fish was the only thing on the plate that was hot. The baked potatoes as a side dish seemed to have been cooked a day ago and tasted really bland and stale. Remoulade with the fish didn't taste good at all. This flophouse is very far from a restaurant; it can be seen as more of a "snack bar", if at all. All in all, I won't go here again, even if it's the last thing I can eat and I'm almost starving.

Gosch is not a restaurant but a snack bar. Choose food, pick it up, get drinks yourself, prices are very high. I'll go somewhere else next time.

Okay - we arrived just before 8:00 p.m., but the dish should still be good then. We had the large portion of Gosch shrimp from the grill - they were fried very dark, were a little bitter and a little salty. We know it differently! But the Chardonnay was great as always!

Unpleasant staff. Cold food, smaller fish portions,for this money it is not worth it. It was good but 8-10 years ago.

Sehr netter Service, auch wenn man mit Hund kommt (Golden Retriever). Schöne Einrichtung, leckeres Essen! Immer gerne wieder.

Leider waren wir vom Ambiente wie auch vom Essen etwas enttäuscht - der Fisch war recht trocken gebraten. Die Krabbensuppe war allerdings lecker. Vielleicht hatten wir dieses Mal einfach etwas Pech.

Hello, I actually always eat the salmon noodles! Preferably on Sylt in Wenningstedt, of course! This time it wasn't so great. The sauce was like water and all you could taste was the red pepper, which was in abundance! That was a real shame!!

I really have to take a stand. The name Gosch has fallen into disrepute due to various franchises... Everything was perfect here in Timmendorf. It was really busy at the turn of the year. And yet all the dishes were on point, hot and not dry. I have this for example I had a completely different experience in Grömitz. All 5 stars fully deserved.

We left straight away, or you could say we were sent away. I have never experienced such poor treatment of guests who had a small dog with them and wanted to sit outside. Never again Gosch!!!

We were here in December. There was also a lot of activity outside. There were patio heaters and fresh fish sandwiches at the outside snack bar. Inside we ate delicious fish dishes. You can also get delicious rice pudding here. The employees were mostly friendly and attentive. Gladly again!

Biggest ripoff. We ate a fish sandwich on hand. The roll was a cheapest baked roll with a little smoked salmon. Absolute mass production. The name Gosch seems to be attractive. For me it was the first and last time Gosch.

The location is very nice - right on the beach. But the food...total rip off. Highly priced for poor quality. The fish nuggets died at least 10 times. F...dry, fries very bland. Never again!!!!

The fish roll had a thick onion ring and was difficult to eat... either a lot of fish or a lot of onion in the mouth, the onion could have been cut more finely... The service at the fish stand was not so friendly, rather irritable... The seat in the beach chair was comfortable and blankets were available , so we treated ourselves to some wine...

Wenn ich in Timmendorf bin, gehört ein Gang zu Gosch immer dazu, dieses Mal war der Besuch sehr enttäuschend. Das Personal war unfreundlich sowie unmotiviert. Die Portionen im Gegensatz zu sonst klein, teilweise kalt und lieblos auf den Teller geklatscht (anders kann man es nicht beschreiben) . Schade….

A very good fish restaurant, everything is freshly prepared and tastes very tasty. You order at the counter and pay immediately, so there is no table service. When the food you ordered is ready, the beeper you received when you ordered will buzz. The restaurant is decorated with rustic wooden furniture, which I find very nice. We really enjoyed the food and we always enjoy going to Gosch. The price-performance ratio is good. I had pan fish with fried potatoes and mustard sauce and didn't quite finish my portion, there were 3 fish fillets. Thank you for the lovely evening ❤️

What can you say? Ready-made fried potatoes and bad fish for a price that promises something better. I would also have liked more love when it came to the preparation. The other stores in this chain are much better, even though they have the same offerings.

I have often been a guest in other restaurants in this chain and have always been completely convinced and satisfied. Now we were here and I can say that I am completely disappointed. The service staff was very unfriendly and took the order without a smile on their face. After paying, they immediately turned away and didn't even respond to the wish to have a nice day. The food was not to be enjoyed for a hefty price of €25 per person, I expected a lot more as I have already eaten in other Gosch restaurants, the fried potatoes were sour and tasted suspiciously like a ready-made mixture, the fish had it Tasted rotten, which a zander or cod shouldn't actually do, in my opinion it was bad, the baked potato was carelessly thrown onto the plate, a pair of crayfish next to it wasn't particularly good either have tasted. Despite all the love for this restaurant series, I will never eat at Gosch on Timmendorfer Strand again.

Now I have to intervene in this unworthy discussion: Anyone who rates the service here as bad probably only eats at Buckingham Palace or the Orangery in Timmendorf. Anyone who complains that you have to get your own food has never been to Gosch before! That's how it is at Gosch and it works very well everywhere! Anyone who thinks the tables are cramped here was probably just eating at home. This location simply offers everything: TOP service, TOP food and TOP ambience! The operations manager, Mr. Seelig, does an excellent job that shines on the team. There's nothing you can complain about, unless you're in such a bad mood that you're looking for a fly in the ointment, but please keep up the good service Find the star gastronomy! This is my TOP location for all Gosch restaurants and my recommendation!

August 24: Too expensive for self-service. It was full, therefore loud and uncomfortable. I also felt a bit like I was at McDonald's. First queue for the food and then again for the drinks. By the time you have one, the other is either gone or cold. For these reasons we went back out and ate somewhere else. Edit from November 24: Unfortunately, the selection in town wasn't the largest, so we ended up going there twice. The food is good, but my initial opinion remains that it is too expensive. Köstritzer on tap is delicious and okay at 5.30 euros. The funny thing is that the same beer is 20 cents cheaper in Gosch Scharbeutz. Due to self-service, the high prices are simply not justified. Other guests made similar comments and felt the same way. And then demanding a tip at the EC card terminal is almost Loriot humor.

In my opinion there are qualitative differences in the food between Gosch Timmendorfer Strand and Scharbeutz. However, another aspect should be highlighted. I actually assumed that a tip would go entirely to the lady in charge of the toilets. When I asked, I was told that only 20% of the tips are passed on. If this is true, I consider it a shame! This “bonus” is intended for the socially disadvantaged and not for the Gosch company! But I'm happy to be taught.

If you want to eat badly, this is the place for you.

Seems a bit like a snack bar, you have to order your food at the counter, pay immediately and pick it up yourself, ditto for the drinks. You will be rewarded with very tasty fish dishes at extremely reasonable prices. The bottom line is that self-service is twice as worthwhile.

I only had a fish sandwich here and it wasn't outstanding. You can get it at Nordsee in similar quality. There was a crazy amount of onions on it, so that the taste of the herring was basically lost. Conclusion: next time go to a local provider and don't follow the hype

Always very tasty, the staff is friendly, the restaurant is inviting and comfortably furnished, even with a small baby and stroller there is space and you can eat in peace.

Gosch on Timmendorfer Strand is definitely fine for a quick lunch. The quality of the food is ok and there is a good selection of dishes. What is a bit annoying, however, is that you have to pick up your food from the counter yourself, which makes the experience a little less relaxing. However, anyone who can prepare for it will not be disappointed. Overall, a viable option for an uncomplicated lunch on the beach, even if the service aspect and the ambience still leave room for improvement.

20240819 Here you can get everything you don't want. Here you can get loveless fish sandwiches at an exorbitant price of €4.90. A herring roll with a hard roll (the palate is happy), a small herring fillet (not all fresh) and a slice of onions. No sauce, no salad, nothing. The friendliness of the staff also leaves a lot to be desired. You don't feel comfortable here as a customer. My review doesn't apply to the restaurant, but only to the "small galley" in front of the restaurant.

The price-performance ratio has soon reached its limit at Gosch... at least for example. B. when it comes to the fine fish plate (25.50 euros now). Still, it's delicious and we still enjoy going there. However, the employees at Gosch in Timmendorf should work “a little” on their friendliness. A “hello or hello” at the beginning and a smile every now and then would make the whole thing more pleasant for everyone involved. The customer is king should be lived more here, even if Gosch may not absolutely need it.
