Gosch Restaurant in Timmendorfer Strand

In my opinion, there are qualitative differences in the food between Gosch Timmendorfer Strand and Scharbeutz. However, another aspect should be highlighted. I actually assumed that a tip would go entirely to the lady in charge of the toilets. When I asked, I was told that only 20% of the tips are passed on. If this is true, I consider it a shame! This “bonus” is intended for the socially disadvantaged and not for the Gosch company! But I'm happy to be taught.

If you want to eat badly, this is the place for you.

August 24: Too expensive for self-service. It was full, therefore loud and uncomfortable. I also felt a bit like I was at McDonald's. First queue for the food and then again for the drinks. By the time you have one, the other is either gone or cold. For these reasons we went back out and ate somewhere else. Edit from November 24: Unfortunately, the selection in town wasn't the largest, so we ended up going there twice. The food is good, but my initial opinion remains that it is too expensive. Köstritzer on tap is delicious and okay at 5.30 euros. The funny thing is that the same four is 20 cents cheaper in Gosch Scharbeutz. Due to self-service, the high prices are simply not justified. Other guests made similar comments and felt the same way. And then demanding a tip at the EC card terminal is almost Loriot humor.

Seems a bit like a snack bar, you have to order your food at the counter, pay immediately and pick it up yourself, ditto for the drinks. You will be rewarded with very tasty fish dishes at extremely reasonable prices. The bottom line is that self-service is twice as worthwhile.

Always something going on and well attended. In the evening the tables outside fill up, even in the cold season.

I only had a fish sandwich here and it wasn't outstanding. You can get it at Nordsee in similar quality. There was a crazy amount of onions on it, so that the taste of the herring was basically lost. Conclusion: next time go to a local provider and don't follow the hype

Always very tasty, the staff is friendly, the restaurant is inviting and comfortably furnished, even with a small baby and stroller there is space and you can eat in peace.

Gosch on Timmendorfer Strand is definitely fine for a quick lunch. The quality of the food is ok and there is a good selection of dishes. What is a bit annoying, however, is that you have to pick up your food from the counter yourself, which makes the experience a little less relaxing. However, anyone who can prepare for it will not be disappointed. Overall, a viable option for an uncomplicated lunch on the beach, even if the service aspect and the ambience still leave room for improvement.

20240819 Here you can get everything you don't want. Here you can get loveless fish sandwiches at an exorbitant price of €4.90. A herring roll with a hard roll (the palate is happy), a small herring fillet (not all fresh) and a slice of onions. No sauce, no salad, nothing. The friendliness of the staff also leaves a lot to be desired. You don't feel comfortable here as a customer. My review doesn't apply to the restaurant, but only to the "small galley" in front of the restaurant.

The price-performance ratio has soon reached its limit at Gosch... at least for example. B. when it comes to the fine fish plate (25.50 euros now). Still, it's delicious and we still enjoy going there. However, the employees at Gosch in Timmendorf should work “a little” on their friendliness. A “hello or hello” at the beginning and a smile every now and then would make the whole thing more pleasant for everyone involved. Fish sandwiches were delicious. Then I wanted to order drinks and was told in a non-friendly manner that there were drinks on the other side of the stall and that the same lady would serve me there. Price was only calculated for the fish sandwiches. I would have politely asked what you wanted to drink, then calculated it and put it on the other side and everything would be fine. It was explained to me that drinks would not be served over the fish counter, which was understandable, but that would have to be organized differently

Loud and uncomfortable. Food of poor quality, uncaring and completely overpriced. My son was looking forward to a kids menu - the toys in the menu were clearly appealing. The toy was a lollipop. The menu's side dish was half a cherry tomato, a quarter slice of cucumber and a maceroni-sized piece of pepper. Very sad!

Unfortunately for me as a wheelchair user it is a location that is difficult to visit, the paths are much too narrow, there are better things in TDf.

A small but nice Gosch in the middle of the pedestrian zone of Timmendorf. There are both fish sandwiches to go and fish dishes to eat on site. Price performance is great as always. You can also sit outside in the evenings in October as there are plenty of heat lamps and blankets. Highly recommended for fish lovers.

Don't understand the hype. Everything is self-service, the food seems industrially processed. Salad, tartar sauce, dressing: everything from the bag. Fish breaded too perfectly (not fresh in the kitchen by hand). The prices are too high for the quality/service. Several things went wrong with our order (it can always happen), but the complaint was rather annoying/stroppy. It was said that we didn't have to pay for the overbooked dish, but the visa was still charged. The atmosphere is rather busy because all guests have to place and pick up their own orders. North Sea/McDonalds with beach chairs and patio heaters.

Here you are served quickly and the processes are perfectly timed so that every customer gets their food quickly without the quality suffering. We have eaten at Gosch several times and the prices are right. In addition, the staff is very attentive and friendly. The seating is ok. Blankets are available outside. We will be happy to come back. The portions are sufficiently large.

My daughter (13) and I were there in the afternoon. She wanted to try mussels for the first time and I wanted to eat North Sea crabs. The mussels were excellent and there were a lot of them prepared in one pot. I had a baked potato with remoulade and North Sea shrimp. At first I was wondering whether everything would be enough to fill me up, to which I can now definitely answer yes. They were both very tasty, plentiful and upon request we were also given some of the very tasty tartar sauce. Outside, blankets that Gosh provided were perfect for us to warm up a bit. All in all really great. We'll be back! Oh yes, and for night owls - when we went for a walk in the evening, around 9 p.m., there was still something going on there. Many sat comfortably outside with wine and candlelight.

Wir kennen diverse Gosch-Restaurants und sind Liebhaber der Garnelen vom Grill. Wir haben die große Portion für 22.50€ bestellt. Bevor wir zahlen konnten, mussten wir uns am Lesegerät für ein Trinkgeld entscheiden. Wir empfanden das schon etwas unverschämt, da wir das Essen ja noch gar nicht erhalten hatten. Die Portion, welche wir dann bekamen, war etwas lieblos auf einen, im Vergleich zu anderen Goschs (z. B. Scharbeutz TOP) kleineren Teller angerichtet. Die Garnelen waren vorgegrillt und dann leider nur lauwarm gemacht worden. .Die Portionsgröße lies bei dem Preis auch etwas zu wünschen übrig. Der „Beilagensalat“ war ein Witz und dazu noch von schlechter Qualität. Da wir in 2024 bei Gosch in Timmendorf schon das eine oder andere Mal nicht so zufrieden waren, werden wir hier wohl nicht mehr Gäste sein. Anzumerken ist außerdem, dass die junge Dame am Bestelltresen auch leicht überfordert schien, obwohl das Restaurant normal besucht war. Schade …..

I don't mind having to queue. But twice is strange. For the food and then again for the drinks. The food was simply slapped on top, even though you could see how it was being prepared. Not unfriendly but listless and not at all appealing service. If you are satisfied with Kantienen food, you should look for something else for the prices. I've been to several locations but this one isn't what its name actually stands for. It's a shame actually.

The game fish plate was rich and very tasty. The price is reasonable. You have to go and collect your own food and drinks.

Nie wieder! Das Personal bis auf den sehr netten Kellner, der den Tisch abräumte, äußerst unfreundlich. Der Fisch war nicht durch, als wir ihn reklamierten machte der Koch? ein beleidigtes Gesicht, als wir den Fisch zurück bekamen war er teilweise dunkelbraun und trocken. Also - das war‘s!

This was our second time there and we were really disappointed again. The fried fish was completely bland without salad. The chips and fish were exactly the same. The fish is cold and already moist. A query to the waitress was not very pleasant. They were rude and obviously completely overwhelmed. That was definitely the last time.

The food order taker at the fish counter was terribly unfriendly (small gentleman with horn-rimmed glasses, dark complexion, not European), that was the first impression of Gosch, I was disappointed, as I used to enjoy eating there, there is a lot of need for training (how do I go with guests around). The portions are getting smaller and the prices are getting higher. Tastes good but unfortunately not enough to fill you up. The service at the tables was nice and friendly. I don't know if I'll come back, but Gosch doesn't seem to need to be courteous with guests.

Loveless fish sandwiches for a lot of money. I am aware that all costs have increased, but I can expect more than a mini herring fillet without lettuce and a coarse slice of onion. Others can do it too... The 3 stars are very benevolent.

Generally the food is delicious. Unfortunately, I felt very heavy in my stomach after both visits. The service is sometimes super nice and accommodating, but sometimes it's also very bad-tempered. The atmosphere is like an upscale chip shop, you get your own drinks and food. I found it a bit cramped, especially when you had to go between the tables with your plates.

As expected, always expensive but the quality doesn't keep up. Fish and Chips should be called Chips and Fish. Lots of chips and little fish. The Snow Hare drink wasn't to my taste. Should contain rum and eggnog with milk. Tasty warm milk with a touch of alcohol. Whoever likes it! It probably always depends on the operator. There are better ones too. Timmendorf is not my first choice.

Last time we were at Gosch with six people and a toddler with a stroller. It was very, very narrow there and we could hardly walk through. To our dismay, we had to park our children's car outside. It is very child-unfriendly. Then we went to the counter and ordered our food. Unfortunately, I was misunderstood by the nice or not nice lady because she could hardly speak German. Then of course I was given the wrong food. She just said I ordered wrong, even though I told her three times what I wanted. But of course I couldn't be understood with their broken German. I will avoid this restaurant because there is no space for strollers and they are unfriendly to the children. Dogs are of course welcome because dogs are not understood everywhere under the tables.

Help ! Never again ! These were the worst fish and chips I have ever eaten!!! The fries weren't cooked through yet and the breading was extremely dark and extremely greasy!!! Impudence!!! After pointing out that it didn't taste good, people just shrugged their shoulders...

10.2024: Crab rolls for €13? 09.2023: Over an hour waiting time for menu. However, the taste & quality made it worth it! A local beer would be nice, but it's not available here. The fish, the side dishes & service were top today. However, the rolls are a bit small = cheapest baked goods. But on average they are the cheapest Fischweck in Timmendorf. Quality & price fits. I am a self-confessed GOSCH fan and enjoy eating there because I really appreciate the selection of food and drinks. The restaurants in HH, SPO or Travemünde are top, both in terms of food, service and ambience. But this branch really leaves a lot to be desired. The tables outside are dirty or full of used dishes, they are simply cleared and cleaned too rarely. To eat: I had a seasonal salad with fish fillets and crayfish meat. When I asked if I could leave out the crayfish meat and get more salad or fish instead, I was simply told "No" (presumably there was no further explanation due to language barriers). So I took it and gave it to my husband. Ergo, no flexibility when it comes to food. The dish itself was a disgrace. The fish fillets were soggy, the salad was partly wilted and even rotten. In addition, the few greens were completely drowned in Sylt dressing. I know this much better from the other restaurants mentioned above. Conclusion: This branch will never see me again.

Anyone who is used to Gosch on Sylt might be a little disappointed here. The pan fish was delicious. The summer salad wasn't tasty but just as expensive. Unfortunately the Alster wasn't good either. But you can rely on the seagulls, they are just as intrusive.

The rolls are simple baked rolls like those from a discount store. If you don't ask for a sauce with the roll, you won't get one. Once there are drinks outside, 5 minutes later there are no more. There are certainly better fish sandwiches on the beach. You can sit nicely. We didn't test the service inside.

As a self-confessed Gosch (indoor) fan, we were more than disappointed with the outdoor sales today. Very unfriendly young man and the smoked salmon roll was more than carelessly topped - a shame...

It's a bit reminiscent of a fast food restaurant on the highway. The service seems to be geared towards mass processing and so the friendliness falls by the wayside. It advertises vegetarian baked goods, but you roll your eyes when you order. We received a “normal” and a vegetarian fried fish. The fish was completely identical and therefore probably not vegetarian. The food itself was okay but not what we expected from the GOSCH “brand”.

At Gosch it's all about mass processing, here the guest is no longer king, order food and pick it up cold, with the hair on your plate at the same time! Never again!

I usually always eat at Gosch and have never been disappointed. I've also been here at Timmendorfer Strand between 30 and 40 times in the last 3 years. However, this time it was different. I got the wrong food, instead of the grilled shrimps with additional Mediterranean vegetables, only the roasted shrimps (if I had checked the receipt better). I also had the Finkenwerder plaice. The plaice tasted weak and was also poorly cleaned (silver skin, roe). Overall, the food was only lukewarm and the side salad wasn't really appetizing. But what also really annoyed me was that I asked an employee if I could charge my eBike at the outside socket while I was eating. It was answered in the affirmative and a short time later there was a problem and another colleague simply pulled the plug. However, since I had a longer trip and the battery might not have been enough, this was super annoying. 4 employees discuss such a trifle. Of course I would also be willing to pay something for the 30 minutes of electricity, but well, that's ridiculous. Overall, food nothing special, unfriendly staff. PS: Before I left, I told another employee who was involved in the charging debate that this was very petty and the other employee even showed me the socket where I should charge the battery. I commented that it was my last time in this restaurant and he just said "The colleague is new" and that I wouldn't come back to my comments "never mind". Okay, great, then I know.
