A quaint restaurant with delicious food.

When we stopped in spontaneously, two tables that had been reserved for later were quickly pushed together for us. The order was taken quickly and after a reasonable waiting time the consistently delicious food arrived. The entire stay was peppered with the Upper Lusatian charm of the waitress.😀 Gladly again if the opportunity arises.

Very nicely designed restaurant. The focus is of course the potato 🥔 as the name suggests. Very nice food offer around the 🥔. It tastes really good and I can recommend it to everyone. It's also well attended. So completely satisfied.

Service staff very unfriendly! Tried to eat there 3 days in a row. Apparently nothing was free, even though payment was being made at several tables. These tables were still free after an hour. There was no “reserved” sign on the free tables either. The colleague on the phone had specifically told us this time, "there would be something available then, no problem" of course this telephone reservation was not entered anywhere. It would seem that no new guests are welcome after 8 p.m.!!!!! What a shame!!!!

Although we hadn't made a reservation and the restaurant was very busy, we were allowed to sit at a table that had already been reserved. The service staff was very nice, the food was really tasty and the atmosphere felt very Christmassy.

We had dinner with 3 people. We had reserved a day in advance otherwise it would have been almost impossible to get a table because there was a Christmas market in Görlitz and all the restaurants were pretty crowded. That's why we initially arrived at the very chic, rustic potato house with mixed feelings and not too high expectations. We were then served quickly and very friendly. The drinks were great. Despite the full house, the food came quickly and was very tasty. The price was great. Service: 10/10 Ambience: 10/10 Food: 10/10 We would love to come back.

Very relaxed and cozy atmosphere as well as exciting decoration. The service was very friendly and accommodating. Most of the food was very good and recommended, but there is room for improvement. Unfortunately, the wild mushrooms as a recommended dish were not edible this evening.

Hearty German cuisine. Very tasty fried potatoes. Good meat. Very nice service. But without a reservation there is no space!

Where is the 6th STAR when you need it? That was amazing. The cozy atmosphere promises a pleasant evening. The potato-based dishes taste extremely delicious, and the drinks go well too. The crowning glory of it all, however, are the two ladies in fish dirndls serving. You rarely experience so much concentrated authentic warmth paired with humor and quick-wittedness and is therefore particularly refreshing. That was a special evening for us at the potato house. Die Auswahl an Speisen ist ebenfalls gut und es ist für jeden etwas dabei. Wir hatten hier einen schönen Abend und können das Restaurant nur weiterempfehlen.

Insanely delicious portions in a super rustic atmosphere. Just the right place to have a good time. The portions were not only very tasty but also very large. It's best to reserve in advance.

We were lucky and as day guests in the city of Görlitz we were able to get a time-limited table without a reservation. So far so good. The first funny thing: the staff wears slippers and appropriate clothing to match the rustic ambience of a bar. The interior is furnished with ancient floorboards and old-trimmed tables, as well as a few decorative elements that unfortunately do not fit the suggested era. At that point, the background music was already tiring for us. So we bravely ordered our food, which came quickly and in large portions and tasted great. Then as we ate the tempo of our cutlery became faster and faster because: the absolute break in style was and remained the music!!! A hair-raising hit sounded from the box! Sorry, but they don't fit the concept of this restaurant at all! If you like listening to them, then the potato house is the right place for you🤓 and you will definitely feel at home.

A day trip to Görlitz took us to the potato house. The atmosphere is as cozy as in other potato houses, and the food and drinks are very tasty. Service was good, prices reasonable. Highly recommended!

Very tasty food and nice service

The food was really delicious. After I got my first glass of water without lemon as requested, the second one came with lemon. I forgot again without ordering. My glass was very kindly carried away again and brought without the lemon. Unfortunately it was still the same water. It's a shame, that's how you turn satisfied customers into dissatisfied ones.

Friendly staff, I recommend a reservation, food was good. Rustically made. Parking at Obermarkt, 3 minutes away on foot.

Reservations strongly recommended. However, even without these, the friendly waitress had prepared two seats at the counter for us. Food was very tasty, atmosphere was hearty, service was good despite being overcrowded.

During my stay in Görlitz from 03.-05. In November 2024 I was a guest there with my friend on two evenings. The food was fantastic. Special praise also goes to the service staff, especially Ms. Heintze, who responds directly to the guests with her relaxed manner. It creates an excellent atmosphere in the restaurant. I have already announced my visit the next time I am in Görlitz. Thank you for two carefree evenings.

Went for dinner with the family on October 24th for my granddaughter's 18th birthday. Very nice, cozy restaurant. Large selection of dishes (also super cheap in terms of price). Great friendly and attentive service. I can only recommend it to everyone. Keep it up.👍🍻🍷🍾

We enjoyed the food here. The cuisine is down-to-earth and good. In our case, the kitchen took quite a long time on a Saturday lunchtime. The waitress is nice and communicates rather directly.

The food was really tasty, the potato soup was one of the best I've ever tasted. The star deduction is only for the portion size. You order the meat dish and the side dish separately. I ordered croquettes as a side dish, which cost €4.95. I then got a total of 5 croquettes, which means I paid €1 per croquette 😂 And to be honest, the croquettes didn't look homemade, which is what I would have expected from a potato house.

Wir haben die "Bratkartoffel spezial" in unterschiedlichen Varianten gegessen - ausgezeichnet. Danach noch köstliche kleine süße Kartoffelpuffer mit Zimt und Zucker - überraschend gut, weil wir sie nur pikant mit Knoblauch kennen. Das Bier war optimal temperiert, das Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Auch auf Grund der zentralen Lage sehr empfehlenswert!

There were four of us in the potato house. The ambience was very dignified, three people were happy, but of all things the special pan...no thanks. Fried potatoes soggy Four (I had two) medallions so hard I couldn't bite them. Well it was a birthday invitation.

A place I would visit again at any time. Nice and friendly staff and the food was also great. But you should reserve in advance.

Amazing place, good vibes, delicious food and very friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely visit again like most of Germany, I would say that inside it's not very wheelchair friendly.

We reserved a table at short notice to have lunch with our mother on her 83rd birthday. Which was absolutely no problem despite the wheelchair and the food was absolutely top notch. Thanks again to the entire team at the potato house.

Very friendly staff. They also make the actually impossible possible. Even though we didn't make a reservation and everything was occupied, we were squeezed in with 8 people for dinner. The ambience is very appealing and unusual.

Very cozy restaurant with an excellent team

We arrived 30 minutes later and the table was taken. Even though I wrote by email two days in advance that we wouldn't be there until later. But then it still worked. Unfortunately my food was still cold. But it still tasted very good.

Eating is like at grandma's home. It tastes very good and the value for money is also right.

Very mixed impression during the visit on the evening of September 15th, 2024 with a group of 12 people. The staff was very friendly and helpful and extremely attentive during our stay in the restaurant. Complaints were handled professionally. So much for the good. The food was very carelessly prepared, which suggests the heavy use of convenience goods. Dishes that were served in pans were very cold because the pans themselves had never seen an oven or stove. After complaining, the food was reheated - incidentally, the pan remained cold. By the way, other foods (Silesian Kingdom of Heaven) were also only moderately warm. Potato pancakes were not based on fresh potatoes, but were “packaged”. Here too, only lukewarm and very tough.

Many thanks to the girls from the service for the nice, friendly welcome. My friend had a swollen knee and was given ice cubes to cool it. We were a large group of friends and felt very comfortable, ate and drank deliciously and had a very nice evening. We'd love to come back.

We came to the restaurant for lunch and made an order. We sat outside at first, but it became chilly, so we asked for a table inside, but my request was declined, although the whole restaurant was absolutely empty. The waitress told me that all the tables were booked. I tried to persuade her that we only needed a table for 1 hour, we knew that our lunch won't take long, anyway she denied. I can't believe that in these huge restaurant all the tables were booked exactly for 5 pm. And while we at the restaurant, nobody showed for this "booked tables". My request for a blanket was also declined, as they don't have one. So customer focus is very low. Very dissappointed. The food was ok, by the way.

Freitag Nachmittag kaum Gäste im Restaurant und im Aussenbereich auch nur ein paar Gäste. Wir sind ins Restaurant gegangen um zu fragen, ob wir (7 Personen) 2 Tische zusammenstellen können. Im Aussenbereich gibt es nur Tische mit 6 Sitzplätzen. Darauf wurden wir sofort angeranzt: “Ne gibt es nicht! Stellt doch einen 7ten Stuhl dazu“ Wie habe uns dann auf 2 Tische aufgeteilt - schade, denn neben an waren 2 Tische zusammengestellt und da saßen nur zweiDamen. Freundlichkeit und Service stelle ich mir anders vor.

Very tasty food. An advantage is the menu in Polish. One of the waitresses is Polish, so you can easily place an order and ask for help in choosing the dishes. We ate fantastic potato soup, pan-fried potatoes with fried eggs and tried the kangaroo steak. We recommend a visit and we highly recommend it. Thank you for the great service.😀

Excellent potato dishes, tasty beer (both Landskron Pilsner and Fritzens potato beer), incredibly friendly waitresses (absolute opposite of the waitresses in Branitzer Park 😅) and a pleasant breeze in the alley with the tables outside - wonderful on hot days like today.

I imagine friendliness and service differently! Seven of us came to the area in front of the restaurant on Friday afternoon. The area was only moderately busy. When we asked if we could put two tables together, since in my opinion the tables are intended for 4-5 people, we were immediately shouted at: “No, then add a chair!” One table further on there were 2 tables put together, 2 ladies were sitting here. Well, there's nothing you can do about it, so we split up into two tables.

On a hot day like today, the shady spot outside was very welcome. Friendly service, drinks and food came quickly. The food was delicious, the portions were more than sufficient.

I found the special fried potatoes and the location excellent. What I definitely have to mention is the friendly staff and the great service. Simply recommended!
