I ate there with my father in October 2024. I had the most delicious fried potatoes and the crispiest schnitzel. I still rave about it today. The service was also super friendly and personable.

A great restaurant in the city. You can eat outside or inside. It's beautifully decorated inside, but outside there's sunshine and fresh air 😊 We were greeted very nicely and the service was very friendly when we had any questions. The food was tasty and a decent portion. There is something to eat for every age. We were there with 2 children and also received 2 high chairs. There is also a small play area for little ones. We can recommend this restaurant.

This house seems to be an insider tip. There is no other way I can explain this daily rush during our 4-day stay in Görlitz. And rightly so. We were lucky and got a very comfortable seat for 2 without ordering. Despite the heavy crowd, we were greeted very politely and seated with a friendly smile from the service. The order didn't take long to arrive and went very quickly. The food is very rustic and sumptuous and very tasty. Nobody gets up hungry here. The atmosphere was appropriate and great, as you would hope for in a restaurant like this. Gladly again, but then with prior reservation. Thank you for your hospitality in your house

Potatoes and dishes with them in 100 ways. Very tasty. The prices are known as "German", but they are not cheaper on the Polish side ;) Nice service. There is a menu in Polish, but only one for the entire room ;) considering that it is 3 minutes from our border, it would be worth the investment ;)

Asparagus soup tasteless. One served hot the other soup luke warm. Main Asparagus dish tasteless. Auflauf needed a bit more cooking.

The potato house - a must every time you visit Görlitz. Potatoes in all variations and combinations with meat, fish and sausage. You feel very comfortable thanks to the cozy, rustic atmosphere. Rustic, cozy, friendly, courteous service and delicious food. Even at two o'clock in the afternoon it was no problem getting lunch. We liked it a lot.

We reserved a table at the Görlitzer potato house by phone, where we were also informed that we could only use the reserved seats for two hours. When we arrived the restaurant was half full. At first we were the only ones at our table. Little by little, the tables next to them were also occupied. Our order was taken. We received our food well after an hour. When we asked, the answer was bluntly that everything would happen in order! The four adjacent tables that were occupied after us received their food far before us. We didn't feel welcome and decided not to place any further orders. After 2 hours we left the almost empty restaurant. We actually wanted to offer our visit something nice. The food was good but the service questionable. When we told our family members and neighbors at home about it, they replied that we haven't been going there for a long time. Unfortunately we cannot recommend the restaurant. I wish the “Görlitzer Potato House” to have wonderful, friendly service staff in the future who will master their work skillfully and with joy.

Unfortunately we couldn't go to your place again, there were still tables available outside, but we were told that there would be no service where there were no cards, even though other people were served, even without cards. The staff's answer was that they were acquaintances of the boss, you could just sit down, the waiting time would then be about 2 hours, but you can't promise that there will be service there at all, this restaurant probably doesn't need it, it's a shame

Restaurant of German cuisine. Very tasty food. The girl - the waiter speaks Polish, helped to understand the menu. I liked the interior.

We wanted to eat here today, but unfortunately nothing came of it. The store is empty except for 3 people, but the waitress said there was only room here (right next to the door) otherwise I can't offer anything. You could also have said in a friendly way that they are completely booked through reservations, but not like that.

6 Euro for 0,75 still water seems too expensive

We ended up here out of desperation because we didn't have a reservation anywhere. Two seats at the counter were still free, everything else was reserved. Service quick and pleasant. The food was really fresh and hot on the table, farmer's breakfast and schnitzel, both very good. The pork loin pan and roulade at the next table also looked delicious. We'd love to come back.

The potato house is very centrally located. Service friendly. Unfortunately, the pork medallions were fried for too long and were therefore very dry.

I highly recommend this place! 🥰 We went there on a recommendation and I'm very glad we visited this place. The food was simply delicious and nothing more needs to be said. The service was very nice and polite. When the waitress heard that we were speaking Polish, she immediately switched to Polish and gave us a Polish menu, I don't know if this is an everyday occurrence, maybe you just have to be lucky 😉 The Bombay casserole surprised me with the amount of really good fruit and a lot of turkey. The selection of dishes is very large and the portions are really large! Everything, from the atmosphere to the food, worked as it should. You can pay by card, but they only accept tips in cash :)

A gray-haired waitress was too dismissive towards us personally for me, but the other brown-haired girl was top service and very accommodating 💯👌 the food was very tasty, there could have been a little less oil, that's my feeling, there was jägetschnitzel with fries

Our server was quite rude. Initially, there wasn't enough space for all of us, and when we finally wanted to sit at a table for four (which was offered), her first comment was that she, as a server, should be able to get by. Some of the food was tasty, but the classic fried potatoes with a fried egg were dry and not tasty. The soup, schnitzel, and baked potato were tasty, but then one of the dishes arrived incorrectly. The atmosphere is pleasant.

We were there on March 8th and unfortunately we didn't have a good time, Overwhelmed staff who primarily served friends and unfortunately the food was so bad that we vomited throughout the night...not to mention the diarrhea. Not recommended...unfortunately...

We were here twice for dinner. During our first stay, a table was booked straight away because we were absolutely thrilled. Price/performance is unbeatable and unparalleled. Amazing food - well, you get there exactly what you'd expect, amazing potatoes in different forms, all well cooked! Dishes are served beautifully, warm and very tasty, there are also vegetarian options. Staff is very friendly and polite, they do an amazing job, welcome you with a smile and are taking a good care of their guests. The restaurant is allowing to change dishes to your taste if you have any restrictions, which is also very nice. The surrounding is nice and cozy, just like you'd come home to eat a heartwarming dinner. They also serve tasty beer from a local Landskron Brewery and have good non-alcoholic beverages. Highly recommending for anyone visiting Görlitz! Loving this place :) + if you need to order a take-away but want to also dine in, they will give it at the end of your meal, so once you finish eating in the restaurant, the food you ordered to take is given after and is still warm when you are going out. Very thoughtful :)

the restaurant has a nice rustic charm with authentic German food. it was very delicious and portions were generous. we went early on a Saturday evening and were lucky enough to get a table (but reservations would be better because we saw people who couldn't get a table after us)

It's actually pointless to parrot the many positive reviews, but I'll do it anyway: We were at the potato house on two consecutive evenings with 8 or 12 people and were very enthusiastic. The food was consistently tasty and the atmosphere was very appealing. The cleanliness throughout the restaurant and also in the toilet area is excellent: but the highlight is the service. The restaurateurs can consider themselves lucky to have hired these two ladies. You have peace of mind in a positive sense, even if it sometimes takes a while for the group to order. The humorous but never intrusive nature of the two ladies is exemplary! Special requests were always fulfilled. It's a shame that I live around 700 km away, otherwise I would be a regular here. Thank you for two successful evenings!

We came unannounced, with a dog and it was full. Nevertheless, the waitress assigned us a seat immediately. You could immediately sense her service spirit, her friendliness and the fact that she enjoys her work even under stress. Rarely experienced something like that and it was also very entertaining. Thank you for that! The food tasted like mother's. Rustic and very tasty. That's why we went out to eat here on two subsequent days. Price/performance ratio great. If we end up in Görlitz again, we will definitely come back.
