The food was very good and the staff very friendly, beautiful view of St. Sebald.

We had planned our lunch here after the wedding at the registry office, and everything went absolutely brilliantly. The friendly yet professional communication via email with the owner and her representative regarding the planning (starter plates, dry wine, decorations, etc.) was excellent. The food on site was delicious and the value for money is outstanding. The service during dinner was also very professional; they served us very well. I would be happy to come back with my wife and family; it was definitely worth it.

Tradition meets comfort – 110% recommended! 🍽️🍺 The Goldenes Posthorn in Nuremberg immediately won us over with its inviting terrace area – perfect for a relaxed meal outdoors. The traditional Franconian cuisine leaves nothing to be desired. In the pictures: Nuremberg bratwurst with sauerkraut and lukewarm potato salad – classic, down-to-earth, and truly delicious. A nice selection of beer pairings is also available. Particularly pleasant: the friendly and competent service, which made our visit thoroughly enjoyable. Next time, we'll definitely try the tiered Nuremberg sausage stand – the bratwurst tower! It's going to be a feast. 😄 Conclusion: We'd gladly go back – and absolutely recommend it!

I stopped in the summer sunshine at 5:30 PM for an aperitif. They told me you had to vacate your table by 6 PM if you weren't having dinner; they took 20 minutes to take your order. The staff was rude; I wouldn't recommend it.

Highly recommended for a good traditional dinner... the staff is very friendly and helpful... the Bavarian-style restaurant offers generous and delicious Tuchee and Pirri beers... outdoor seating in a beautiful, charming square! Excellent value... the strudel, German dumplings, and their meats are definitely worth trying...

I drove past it several times and just glanced at first. I ended up spontaneously taking a seat and was pleasantly surprised in every way. The weather was perfect that day, with 38 degrees Celsius. The server was very pleasant and friendly, the food was incredibly delicious, the beer was very good, and the service was also amazing. I waited about 15-20 minutes from ordering to the food being on the table. The price/performance ratio was also 10/10. If I ever find myself in Nuremberg again, I'll definitely come here. Perfect service and excellent food! We were here on a Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. and were immediately served attentively and friendly. Since we opted for the daily special – pork knuckle with dumplings and white cabbage for a reasonable €16.90, our food arrived in just a few minutes. The quality and taste were outstanding; the knuckle was so large that we had to have half wrapped up. Top quality and service with a personal atmosphere right in the heart of Nuremberg – 5 stars!

The waitress was a real asset with his humor. The decor is dated, which is what I expect and want here. Only the junk on the windowsill brings down the ambiance. The food was good, homely fare.

The service was excellent, but the food was nothing special. The schnitzel wasn't thin or crispy enough for me. It was also barely seasoned. The fries had no taste and were quite hard. Maybe okay for tourists who want to eat a few bratwursts in town, but I wouldn't go back.

I requested a table for one and waited for 15 minutes, but no one even brought me a menu. As a result, I left the establishment due to hunger. Food looked great anyway.

We went out to this restaurant in the evening. We didn't have dinner, we just had a few drinks. I had a Tucher draft beer, which is very good and tasty. The waiters are helpful and professional. The location of the restaurant is very good, close to the tourist attractions in Nuremberg.

This is just brutal. They didn't want to pay me by card for coffee. They say that the rules of their cafe are above the law of Germany. Shame! After 10 minutes of their complaints that the boss does not allow them to accept payments by card if the amount is less than 15€, they finally gave me the opportunity to pay by card. If the German tax office reads this comment, then I recommend that you conduct a covert inspection of this establishment, they are clearly hiding taxes! If there are 100 people per day Germany could receive more money for the treasury, if not for people like them. Well, and the attitude of tourists to such service is appropriate. I also recommend that the police check their statements that the law of their boss is above the law of Germany! What right do they have to humiliate the laws of Germany like that?

I think that was the best shoulder of pork I've ever eaten; the crust was a dream. Good food, a warm summer evening, sitting outside, and a good red beer. A dream.

Unfortunately, I can only give one star this time. First of all, I'd like to say that the wine I drank was excellent, the service was very friendly and attentive to our needs, even after what I'm about to describe. We visited a neighboring church, a concert, and then went there at 10:30 p.m. We were told there was no more food and we had to be finished by 11:00 p.m. because the place closes then. We were fine with that, as we wanted to have a nightcap. When we asked for the bill at 10:55 p.m., which was posted at 10:58 p.m., we were informed that one of the employees had already used the card machine and we could no longer pay by card. Even when the very friendly and concerned waitress asked, she was told that card payments were no longer possible because the cash register had been cut (I happen to know that you can then simply post the receipt to the next day and take it with you at the next cash register cut). And the waitress insisted that we run all over Nuremberg at 11:00 PM to get cash. I'm sorry, but in 2025, I find that an absolute disrespect to a guest 🤷🏼‍♂️ A thousand thanks to the lovely waitress 🙏🏻🤌

Very nice outdoor area, not a single wasp! 1k points. Very tasty food, good mix of spritzers, not 98% water like at other places! Very friendly staff, and clean restrooms despite being close to the main market. 100% recommend it anytime.

If I could rate this place lower I would We turned up 5 minutes late for a booking made weeks before and were treated very rudely by some old man and were told that this is how Germans are even though 2 of our party were German and 1 was from Nuremberg. I suggest you find somewhere else to eat

An all-around perfect visit to the Golden Posthorn! The service was outstanding – attentive, friendly, and genuinely warm. You can immediately tell that the owners are passionate about their work. The food was an absolute delight, prepared with love and delicious. A particularly nice touch: the idyllic outdoor seating area, which invites you to linger and exudes a true Old Town atmosphere. We'll definitely be back – a definite recommendation!

Very nice rustic restuarant with good food. We had asparagus soup which is in season and it's great. One of the meat dish with fried egg is the tastiest among the dishes. Highly recommended.

I visited the Goldenes Posthorn restaurant today – and it was an all-around fantastic experience! As soon as we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Beata, our waitress. She is friendly, attentive, and at the same time pleasantly relaxed – simply a hostess with heart. The food arrived quickly and was truly delicious – freshly prepared, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. A real highlight is the location right next to St. Sebaldus Church – sitting outside with a view of the historic walls creates a very special atmosphere, especially in nice weather. The prices were also absolutely fair – excellent value for money for what is offered. I'll definitely be back – a true gem in the heart of the old town!

As "true Nurembergers," a little bratwurst stop is a must for us on almost every trip to the city. Since we love Sebalder Platz, we went to the Goldenes Posthorn again today... and were very disappointed: The bratwursts were undercooked, completely pink inside, the cabbage barely seasoned... and the worst of it was the price – 6 bratwursts with cabbage for €15.50. At Häusle, you can get the same thing for €9.50, and both the cabbage and the bratwurst are incomparably better! What a shame about the beautiful place! It wasn't the service's fault; it was okay.

Terrible service. I stopped for a beer and was told to stay only 30 minutes because I wouldn't be eating. When I went to pay, the waiter told me he would only accept card payments for payments over €15. Obviously, this wasn't stated anywhere. In the end, he was even ironic and reluctantly accepted the card.

We sat down at a table that was clearly just vacated because it had dirty plates. Just wanted a cold beer. This old man moved in and told us we must move to a table in the Sun. It wasn't reserved but he was insistent. I think the man was the owner. Poor customer service. Do not go to this rude mans place. He is just a lousy example of customer service. He is just rude. Edited - I've read a few other reviews and it seems the old bloke really is a problem. Stay away.

Rude old man ejected us from our seat before we had even ordered because he had other customers who wanted our table. It was not courteous and we had chosen a shady table and he rudely pointed us to a sunny table. When we said we wanted shady he rudely argued that we should just accept the hot table - there was an umbrella that could have been put up but he refused. We left.

Rarely have we experienced such an unfriendly waiter. Only after a complaint to the owner did another waiter and the owner come to us, wanting to iron out his colleague's displeasure. However, after this visit we had no intention of visiting this restaurant again. Too bad

Old-established restaurant with outside seating in the car-free zone of the old town. Opposite the famous Sebalduskirchw and close to the main market. Delicious Franconian food with attentive service. Had buttered asparagus with grilled sausage, potatoes and schnitzel from the asparagus menu. Was very good.
