Even today on Sunday shopping everything was good here and then wild plants with potato radish salad for 11.50€ unbeatable in Deggendorf

Strange atmosphere 😕 Disgusting smell upon entering. The toilets were rancid, full of stickers, cobwebs, and other things. The restaurant was dead silent and without music. The waitress said almost everything was reserved, but after more than an hour and a half (before closing), no one came and left. We ordered two small Fantas, but he charged us for two large ones!! The potato salad tasted like nothing, and the service wasn't particularly friendly. I wouldn't go back!

My wife and I had a very good meal there. The food was good quality and reasonably priced. We are very satisfied. Thanks to the friendly staff.

The food is expensive but okay. My only complaint is that you can't sit where you want, even though it's almost always empty. The service could be nicer, but it's generally a disaster throughout Deggendorf. I have no idea why.

The food was okay, but the selection of dishes with non-pork meat left a lot to be desired. The service was extremely unfriendly and rolled their eyes when I asked if I could have a different sauce with my meal. At first they said no, and then suddenly they did. I find it unprofessional and derogatory when people talk to you like you're dirty, and aggressively banging plates and cutlery on the table is also completely unacceptable. If the service had been nicer, they definitely would have given it a better rating. I'll never eat there again.

I highly recommend the Golden Angel. I really enjoyed the Burgundy roast with dumplings and red cabbage. The service was extremely friendly and personable. We had a lovely evening. The traditional inn charm is very nice.

We received a warm welcome. We had reserved a table. It was a successful day. The service, regardless of who was there, looked right and left. The food was very good. If you wanted something, it came immediately, whether it was sauce or red cabbage. We'll be back and look forward to the warmer weather for outside dining. Thank you very much, the chef himself is doing the work. We were there with friends, but it wasn't busy and the waitress was totally unfriendly. The schnitzel was plain, which wasn't on the menu. The salad with steak was tough, even though we complained about it, and there was no response.

Delicious food with very friendly service. They kindly turned down the music for us, as we were there with a baby and someone with hearing aids. The portion of Obazda (traditional Austrian sausage) was very nicely presented.

The food didn't offend but it certainly didn't surprise. Due to the event on the square, it was crowded and this was reflected in the service, which was slow and irritated. The kitchen closes at exactly 9:00 PM and you're out of luck...

The place may be good for locals, but not for tourists. The staff was ok, but the owner was very rude to outsiders who didn't speak German. Not recommended!

Friendly, cheerful service, excellent food, and delicious beer. The beer garden in front of the restaurant is a pleasant place to sit. Prices are reasonable, and the wait times for food are just as good. Perfect.

Generally speaking, everything was good, and the food tasted great. Points deducted: 1. Not everything on the menu was available at 7 p.m. 2. Sometimes large bus tour groups made it difficult to get in without a reservation, or people just piled up and you couldn't hear each other anymore. 3. Very long wait for the food (despite the very high price)

A long-established restaurant, Bavarian and down-to-earth. Outdoor area right next to the town hall/city tower. The waitress has to memorize the menu items and then asks twice 😑 The food isn't that great, but the atmosphere is relaxed.

We went to the Goldener Engel for the first time on a Monday. Nice atmosphere, friendly service and the food came pretty quickly. The portion size was plentiful and the taste of the food was also very good. However, the food could be a little warmer. Nevertheless, we will visit the angel again.

Very nice service. Onion roast with cheese spaetzle very tasty and recommended. Fries are also very crispy, other restaurants in the area can take a leaf from that.😁

Goulash consisted of 90% fat. The waitress then said that goulash was mixed and charged off the entire meal.

I spent several weeks in Deggendorf for work and always enjoyed coming back here. The food is very tasty, the service and the ambience are also great, everything is perfect here.

The worst suckling pig I have ever eaten. Not only were the dumplings raw inside, the meat was very fatty, not crispy and full of gristle. Unfortunately not recommended!

The ambience is nice, but the food is mediocre at best. The sauce doesn't taste like anything except salt. There are much better places in Deggendorf. No recommendation.

The food was delicious and the portions weren't too big, so it was perfect for us. We would have liked the beer to be a little cooler. The service wasn't unfriendly, but not really friendly either. But so-so... The ambience is of course not ideal due to the location, but they have made the best of it.

Went to the restaurant on a recommendation. We had reserved a table for Saturday lunchtime, but you could have gotten a table like that. I particularly liked the summer salad with goat cheese. The salad was excellent, the house dressing was delicious and the goat cheese with honey and nuts was perfectly browned. The service was courteous and friendly. Can only recommend it. Would love to come back. Dog-friendly restaurant, even water for the dog was brought to our table 🐾

Super Wirtschaft die wir echt empfehlen können wenn man mal in Deggendorf unterwegs ist. Das Essen war super, vor allem das Schnitzel mit die Bratkartoffeln war ein Gedicht. Super weiches Fleisch, welches nicht zu dünn, bzw zu dick war. Einziger Kritikpunkt, das kein Kümmel an den Bratkartoffel war. Wurstsalat war auch sehr zu empfehlen und vor allem appetitlich angerichtet gewesen. Würden wieder vorbei schauen wenn wir im Bayerischen Wald unterwegs sind.

I highly recommend it. Ok, when making the reservation the gentleman on the phone wasn't that friendly and seemed to be a little stressed, which he shouldn't take out on the customer... but the service and the very tasty food made up for it. Gladly again...maybe next time without a reservation :-)

The food was good so far, but we also found better restaurants in the area. We went here as a family for dinner. The selection is good. The service was friendly and very pleasant. I deduct a star for the food. I found the portion sizes a bit manageable for the prices. The schnitzel was available for €15.50 and it could have been a little more schnitzel. The cheese spaetzle was also rather average. (As I said, we had a few comparison meals during the week.) The Kaiserschmarren was only available with raisins. That's ok, but other restaurants have done it a lot better, especially since the taste of this one wasn't anything special.

Top cozy restaurant in the heart of Deggendorf. Great food and service, prices more than ok, no longer a given in this industry, difficult to find good staff and everything is getting more expensive. The boss and lady boss are great, they still take care of the guests when they go to the table to make sure everything is right. We will be back. Kind regards from Austria

The food tastes excellent, the service is friendly, unfortunately, despite express requests from two people, the cheese spaetzle was served with the onion roast instead of the requested spaetzle without cheese. But it can happen sometimes. I would still recommend the restaurant at any time.

The inn is very nice but the food (spinach spaetzle and schnitzel with fries) was unfortunately not good. I told the waiter but there was no response. I wouldn't go there again. Service is what makes a good inn and unfortunately there wasn't much of it.

The food was good. Unfortunately the service was subpar. Unfriendly and rude.

We ate there, unfortunately my dish was completely over salted. I could only eat a little dumplings. I then told the waiter and he just said "oh, I'm sorry" when he saw the still full plate and cleared it away. Nothing more, no compensation, nothing. Service is something else!

Von außen eher unscheinbar, aber innen ein unglaublich uriger Gasthof mit altem Gewölbe. Aufmerksamer tschechische Kellner, süffiges Dunkelbier, Wochenkarte mit alten Traditionsgerichten wie Klöße mit Entenbraten gefüllt auf Blaukraut mit Röstzwiebeln. Bayrische trifft Böhmische Küche, das beste Sickowa( Rinderfilet in Sahnesauce) und Lowitschen mit Powidl. Absoluter Geheimtipp und gerne mehr als diese 5 Sterne 🌟!
