Goldene Lilie in Flensburg

We love this restaurant. I have known it for more than 10 years now and hardly anything has changed. Still very tasty food and nice staff too.

We have been going to this Chinese restaurant for decades and have always been very satisfied, in our opinion the best in Flensburg. The extremely negative reviews of the last six months didn't stop us from going there again last Wednesday and forming our own opinion. Unfortunately we have to confirm almost all negative points. At first glance everything looks the same, but upon closer inspection you notice: -The used buffet plates are not cleared away quickly, as they used to be, but remain standing -the waitresses stand behind the counter and stare at their cell phones instead of taking care of the guests -To order something, you have to call through the restaurant -The beer was stale and without foam -The preheated plates were out and weren't refilled, we had to help ourselves to cold plates in a corner -The duck was soft and wobbly, definitely not crispy and was only refilled very hesitantly and sparsely -the beef was tough -We had to go to the counter to pay because the waitress couldn't be persuaded to come to our place Unfortunately, I didn't pay attention to the individual price, which is much criticized here, but over 70 euros in total for 2 x buffet and four drinks is already steep The restaurant was noticeably empty and part of it was even completely closed, which was never the case earlier during the week. After so many years, this was definitely the last visit to the Golden Lily, which is a very, very shame.

Went to the buffet again today, we were looking forward to it as always and were very disappointed. Prices high, quality down. Probably won't eat there again in the near future, you can expect a little more for the price.

Die Speisen sind nur lauwarm und fade gewürzt. Insgesamt wirkt das Personal völlig überfordert, versteht die Bestellungen nicht (zu geringe Deutschkenntnisse?), reagiert kaum oder sehr verspätet, verwechselt die Getränke usw. Der Zustand der Toiletten ist unzumutbar: Alles verschmutzt, Papier auf dem Fußboden verstreut, Haare in den Waschbecken und in den Toilettenbecken, Gestank usw., eigentlich unglaublich. Und das blaue Abschlussgetränk auf Kosten des Hauses, auf das wir uns immer besonders gefreut hatten, ist ersatzlos gestrichen. Meine Frage, ob wir alkoholfreien Sekt bekommen könnten, wurde verneint (nicht verstanden?). Der runde Tisch, der uns schließlich nach einer Fehlleitung und einem Tischwechsel zugewiesen wurde, wackelte erheblich,usw. Dies mag als Auflistung der Unerfreulichkeiten genügen und hat zur Folge, dass wir dieses Restaurant nicht wieder besuchen werden.

Never again. The prices don't match the menu. Difference up to 10.00 euros per dish, so plus for duck! The quality is rather less. Very greasy and still a bit tasteless! For the same price I would have gotten twice as much and tastier in the gallery. Yes, that was my mistake.

Unfortunately, the Golden Lily has declined significantly since the change of ownership. Extreme price increases, declining cleanliness, a broken and dirty ice chest, food is rarely refilled later and unfortunately the taste has also deteriorated. Only the waiter from the old days remains, but unfortunately he alone cannot make up for the grievances. We won't be coming back again.

Was! always enthusiastic about this Chinese, but now it has waned a lot 🙅‍♂️. He also drastically increased prices (see photo). I'm no longer willing to pay so much for this mediocre quality!

The selection is rather small for the price. Other comparable restaurants offer more. In addition, many dishes were only warm and not hot. Ambiance seems outdated.

Viele Jahre sind dort gern gegessen, Tisch könnte man spontan nicht bekommen. Der Besitzerwechsel hat den Laden ruiniert. Das Essen schmeckt nicht mehr so gut wie letztes Jahr, es gibt kein Alkohol mehr, einige Standards wurden weggelassen, die Einrichtung ist in die Jahre gekommen, manche Tische haben Abplatzungen. Nun kommt der Knaller, der Preis von 23,50 Euro geht absolut nicht. War das letzte Mal, dass wir da waren.

Today we were in the Golden Lily again for a long time, but unfortunately it has lost its shine. When we entered we were surprised that there were still so many places available during the holidays. The ambience leaves a lot to be desired, unclean tables, worn dishes, the dishes lined up like always, the toilets very unclean. A visibly annoyed waiter who also let a couple sitting opposite us feel this. These two had only pointed out the unclean handrail that needed to be cleaned again. The older gentleman then ordered a small beer and was told by the waiter that only large beers were served for lunch. However, small beers were served to other guests. The price-performance ratio is no longer right and we can no longer recommend the Golden Lily. It's a shame, it's the last time for a long time.

We had dinner there about 4 weeks ago, my husband spontaneously said let's go there again to eat, it was a mistake! The buffet was just cold, everything was somehow greasy! It took forever for something to be refilled. Things have deteriorated greatly, plates were only cleared from the table upon request. Drinks came to the table quite quickly. In the past there was always a green cocktail at the end!! It was lost. Well, the topic of hygiene in the toilets is a mess! Maybe it would be best if the store closed completely. We used to be regular customers Oh well, after eating on the way home we both had stomach pains.

The price for the afternoon buffet is ridiculous. In short, very little, cold and old. Tasteless.only krupuk and Swedish meatballs were filled. And that for € 15.90 and then the big blow: 0.2 l of water for € 5.10. Never experienced it before, and I will never experience it again.

Golden Lily is OK, small selection but delicious! Unfortunately, the fact that everything became more expensive after the pandemic could not be changed. But now there is another price increase within a short period of time, from 19.90 to 23.90 even though there is no reason for it! Currently, maintenance costs have not increased. An absolute disgrace and we will not support it and eat there again!!!!!!!

Good morning, I can't confirm all the bad reviews. At the bottom of the entrance there is a price board with the respective buffet prices, which are cheaper during the week than on the weekend. We were here at 6 p.m. and found a warm, fresh and, above all, full buffet. We didn't have to wait, we were shown straight to the table and our drink order was taken immediately afterwards. The only downside: no á la carte orders during the buffet. I can't judge how the whole thing will turn out at a later hour. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether the prices are justified as a vegetarian. We had a great, delicious evening and will definitely come back!

The choice of food options was a complete catastrophe, almost an impertinence. When we arrived at the table we were told when we were taking drinks that the price had increased by €6 out of nowhere. Wonder what consumer protection would say about this. The hygiene of the toilets speaks volumes. Ambience inadequate. Unfortunately you can only eat the same thing as the selection is very small. We haven't been to Flensburg since the Corona pandemic and treated ourselves to the evening buffet. On the homepage this is advertised as €17.90 and at the door entrance the menu is then plastered over with €23.90, which represents a price increase of over 33%. As always, the food was great and the containers were constantly being refilled until 8 p.m. The highlight is the duck, although it wasn't as crispy as it used to be. Otherwise everything was super fresh and hot. The drinks are a big point of criticism. In addition to draft beer, there are countless PET bottles and fruit juice drinks on the counter, unrefrigerated, from discounters Aldi or Lidl. At €0.25 for 1.5 liters of goods and almost €4 for a glass of water, it's an absolute disgrace! Therefore, visiting this restaurant once a year is enough and probably €30 per person. Who else wants to go out to dinner with 4 people?

After a long search online, I finally found an offer for Peking duck on the Golden Lily homepage, called and made a reservation for four people and specifically ordered Peking duck. We then took an hour-long drive and were full of anticipation. There are no parking spaces directly in front of the door, you can park for a fee in the nearby shopping center. Unfortunately, we were already upset before we entered the restaurant. The elevator was in "maintenance" on a Friday evening. Homeless people sat in front of the entrance, begging and insulting passers-by. When we arrived upstairs with my mother, older and with walking difficulties, the next disappointment. There is no Peking Duck there anymore, it just hasn't been deleted from the internet yet. After thinking about it for a moment, we stayed there anyway and tested the buffet. A small selection compared to our regular Chinese restaurant, to whom we drive less than an hour. But everything was delicious so far, except for the fried rice, which none of the four of us liked. We didn't try vegan. The peanut sauce was absolutely perfect I couldn't sort out the taste of the ice cream, which was a shame, but the fruit salad was fresh. It was okay, but unfortunately not what we ordered.

Das Buffet ist sehr überschaubar, dazu viele Schüsseln leer. Viele Speisen waren nur lauwarm, das Gemüse war kalt, das Hühnerfleisch ebenso. Wenn überhaupt, dann langweilig gewürzt, überwiegend billigstes Convenience. Die gebratenen Nudeln waren auch nur lauwarm, dazu öltriefend. Fazit: eine absolute Enttäuschung. 1 x und nie wieder.

The buffet is very manageable, and many bowls are empty. The vegetables were cold, as was the chicken. If anything, then boring seasoning, mostly the cheapest convenience. The fried noodles were also only lukewarm and dripping with oil. Conclusion: an absolute disappointment. Once and never again.

Increasing the price from €14.90 to €23.90 with less performance is underground. Until now, if you wanted to earn more, you had to sell more. Today they simply increase the price. Had lunch with the family and they say it was very pleasant and worth dining here. Friendly service and a corresponding price-performance ratio did the rest. As guests in Flensburg, we were pleasantly surprised for this “lunchtime”. Recommended...

We were there today, Sunday lunchtime, and we were surprised because the place was almost empty. The reason for this was the new prices: €24 for the buffet, €16 on weekdays. The buffet is not only sparse as ever, but also of poorer quality. It was too fatty and the peanut sauce, which was always good, tasted terrible. For us: Never again!!!!

Golden Lily was always my top favorite. Before Corona: lunch buffet €7.50 After Corona: €10.50. Okay, you can live with that During inflation the price rose to 14.50 (I saw this about 1-2 months ago) Well: Lunch buffet: 18.50 for the SAME food. They don't even TAKE THE EFFORT to change anything. They literally drive the price up and up without changing anything in terms of performance. I would understand if you suddenly had a little more choice at lunchtime. But like that... I have no idea what the Golden Lily is thinking, but if they continue like this, it's only a matter of time before the store closes. Anyone who accepts the constant, immense and almost brazen increases in prices can of course continue to enjoy the delicious food. Until they don't change anything... there are plenty of other delicious Chinese/Vietnamese restaurants... You will be treated completely disgustingly. Sometimes overly nice. Of course it depends on the waiter and his mood. In the past, things like this weren't so extreme that they were noticeable. Too bad!

It's unbelievable why such high prices are being charged here, I'd be interested to know why. Here you just cash in and nothing is invested. The food, ambience, service, hospitality, cleanliness and taste leave more than to be desired. That's the last time you've seen us. Once my favorite restaurant, now a gastronomic nightmare.

03/20/2024 Since the Golden Lily has new management, it's horrible to eat there. The greeting was extremely unfriendly. We had made a reservation and had to wait 15 minutes, which in itself was ok, but then we were told that we only had 1 hour to eat. We waited 20 minutes for the drinks and the table next door even longer. All in all a very poor performance. Review changed after 4 hours!!!!! After eating I had a very queasy feeling in my stomach and unfortunately I also threw up so something wasn't quite right with the food!!!!!!!!!!!! Eating from 3 stars down to 1 and for me personally it was the last time I ate at the Lilie!!! Visited again on September 13th, 2024 because we wanted to give it another chance as it was our favorite restaurant to date. The prices are outrageously high. At the beginning of the year we paid around 50-60€ for 3 people with drinks! When we visited today we simply lost 95€ because the buffet on Sunday was raised to 25€ per head, a whole 8€ more as the beginning of the year and that you because there is a new owner in it....... The selection is again very poor, some containers are empty and the quality has also decreased. Conclusion: all in all, not another visit!!!! For the money you can definitely eat better in Flensburg.

Golden Lily- ha - more like WITHELING CARNATION 1st floor Elevator is probably being replaced after years. Had a buffet lunch with 5 people. €16.95 The unanimous opinion: terrible No choice, everything tasted like cinnamon, curry and cloves. No crispy duck, no sushi, a container with pork and vegetables in a brown sauce, a second container with chicken and vegetables in the same sauce, chicken with pineapple pieces in a light sauce, which tasted like the others. Small, sweet-tasting Mettballs [Köttbullar] in the same dark sauce. Even the fried noodles tasted like the spice mix. That's it - with fries and bean sprouts, whichever side dishes were available. No salad or vegetables. Couple from Berlin, 1 from Hanover. We agreed that we had never had such terrible food at an Asian restaurant. Even in a stall at some market it tasted better. Staff inattentive, no question about a new drink, plates were not cleared. Definitely not recommended.

The restaurant certainly has the most friendly waiters in town! The ambience is great and there is everything you could dream of! 🤩 The Golden Lily is definitely worth a visit when you're in town! 😁🥢

The arch is now finally spanned. This will be the THIRD price increase in 2024. The cards cannot be printed as quickly as the prices increase. The lunch buffet has cost an impressive 15.95 euros since September 1st, 2025. Inflation is decreasing - only in the Golden Lily is there hyperinflation. What do you expect from the customer? That he pays 30 euros per person for lunch for a standard, uncreative meal with a drink and a tip? Added to this are parking fees and the hassle that both families with strollers and seniors who have difficulty walking are left out because the elevator has been broken for over a year. By the way, the meeting house is dirty and needs to be cleaned with a high-pressure cleaner. So it's no wonder that because of this greed for money, guests are increasingly staying away and Flensburg's city center is dying. There are plenty of examples, see Flensburg Holmpassage etc. Sadly sad.

Were there on Sunday. €23.90 for the lunch buffet!!! Food that I wouldn't even donate to the homeless. Frozen chicken. TK beef. TK schnitzel. Frozen duck. Soup was cold & didn't taste like anything. I've never eaten so badly. I can only recommend everyone to eat somewhere else. Even Mecces offers more. An absolute disgrace.

Standard Chinese buffet OK for the price but no culinary revelation

Lunch buffet during the week: very limited selection. There are photos of the buffet in front of the door and online, but with little consistency. Fries in a warming dish that works with steam - instead of freshly added. “Breaded chicken” was flattened turkey schnitzel in the simplest breading and then cut crosswise into small pieces. Every snack bar can do that better. Overall disappointing. No one came to check on us during the entire stay. So there was only one drink. Never again.

As regular guests, we have always been satisfied with the high quality and taste of the food and the overwhelming friendliness of the staff. I posted that 5 years ago. This has changed now. With the change of ownership everything got worse. The young staff is disinterested, doesn't care about the guests and seems like they don't give a shit. No please or thank you or how did you like it. The boss wasn't there. The buffet was supposed to open at 5:30 p.m., but at 5:50 p.m. half of it was still missing. The floor is dirty, the toilets have no soap dispensers or are empty. The impression of the restaurant is shabby and unkempt. The access on the ground floor is terrible and the elevator is always broken. Only the older waiter keeps the place running. When it's gone, we definitely won't be coming back. Constructive criticism is not accepted with a shrug of the shoulders. Because the price is way too high, I'd rather go to a steakhouse. You are still welcome and valued there.

Went to the lunch buffet. Prices “overnight” from 11.40 to over 14.00 EUR. Still quite full. What can you say... duck only in vegetable sauce. tough, dry - no skin. Chicken with cartilage. Sprouts - sour and musty. You would prefer to bring drinks with you for that price. Nothing like what you would expect from the “Chinaman”. was there years ago... it has changed a lot. NEVER AGAIN!

After hearing so many good things, I went there, was really hungry and was looking forward to a delicious buffet. Seems to have really gone downhill rapidly in the last few months. Can't give a recommendation here. I was there on a Sunday evening - maybe that was a mistake, there wasn't much going on. They immediately said that it was over at 10 p.m. it was 8:30 p.m. Hospitality is different! The buffet was clearly partly not refilled, some of it had been so long that it looked absolutely unappetizing. Some things tasted very good but overall they were presented carelessly. And some things were left on the plate because they were no longer edible. At 9:30 p.m. I was asked if I wanted something from the warm buffet again, so I asked if they could refill the baked banana, which hadn't been available the whole time. The answer - no, the chef has already finished work. While I was alternatively eating ice cream, I was cashed in and told that I wanted to finish work, which was 9:40 p.m. Hmmm…. Rarely as a guest so obviously disturbed. Rarely write Google reviews. Conclusion: treat your hosts to a well-earned evening and go eat somewhere else!

The restaurant has a new owner and it shows. No rice refilled, the bowls at the buffet were barely refilled, no clean plates available, the white wine was warm and the dirty plates were piled up on the tables. We have been regular guests to this day and have always been completely satisfied. It's a shame that the standard has deteriorated so much. We're looking for another Chinese restaurant.

From the outside the entrance first thought oh my god. Well, from the inside it looks completely different. Small, clear buffet. Not convincing in terms of taste. Prices on site do not match the prices on the website.

The food was disastrous. The store was completely overcrowded and the staff was overwhelmed to the max. We were in the store with 2 pregnant people and the food wasn't even cooked. After we complained there was just a lot of discussion. Just an embarrassing and disgusting store. A price waiver or accommodation was in no way conceivable. I wouldn't recommend anyone to eat there. I am very disappointed! The food was completely raw! It was totally disgusting. The service didn't keep up. The food took a long time to arrive. We were offered almost everything at the buffet, as it was shown on the internet. One or two things were missing, but the offer was still very rich, fresh salad and dessert were also available. Do not allow exchange from the entrance. Local on the first floor looks completely different. A bit old but clean and nice. The buffet is not big, but completely sufficient. Dessert could be more, sushi would be great too.

If you go into the stairwell, you fall out backwards. It stinks and is unclean. We weren't impressed with the entrance before, but the good food made up for it... Unfortunately, the latter is no longer the case... Urgent improvements are needed here!

Even though everything was full and we hadn't made a reservation, we still got a table. The food was very tasty and was always delivered quickly.

Since the restaurant has had a new owner, a lot has changed there. The prices on the homepage for the buffet are no longer current. Even the prices for the buffet on the display board down on Angelburger Str. don't necessarily apply when you get to the restaurant upstairs. Luckily the food remained delicious.

Every Flensburg tour includes a visit to the Goldene Lilie. They put in the effort and provide great service. To be relevant they have to make “German Chinese food” but you can eat it. Price is fantastic.

Good day dear ones, I had dinner there with my girlfriend yesterday.. After a long time, and that showed me that the Golden Lily has deteriorated.. Some of the dishes weren't even cooked properly... So unfortunately both of them went to the toilet a lot today... That was a smooth 6... It's a shame the Goldene Lilie used to be my family's favorite restaurant... Today I know that it was the last time I was there... The food was just too expensive for two people €46.50 and then the food wasn't ready... Make up your own mind, but for me it was the last time...

Everything was better before? No, but the Golden Lily was better. In 2017 we ate there with the whole family after our registry office. The buffet was rich and nice. The price went up, but the ambience didn't change. There are LED strips hanging from the paneling. Unfortunately the guest room seems very cheap. The quality of the food remains good, the service is sometimes slow but friendly

A very bad restaurant! I came as a tourist in Flensburg and decided to go there. The staff is unfriendly and impolite. Even with a reservation they decided not to give us the menu and the place seemed quite uncleaned!!

Hello everyone, I don't really want to complain much about the food, except that the Chinese soup was very vinegary, but the tomato soup actually tasted good. As I always like to write, after over 50 Chinese buffets all over Germany I just notice that it tastes identical almost everywhere, so I find the mistake. Unfortunately, there wasn't even any sushi here and given the high price for a really simple lunch buffet, that should probably still be included...but instead, like everywhere else, there was the cheap "jello" and the disgusting canned fruit, ice cream I never do at Chinese anyway. So my conclusion, that's why so many guests supposedly come here especially🤔🫣 very simple, very uncomfortable furnishings, very old toilet and today's modern prices, lol. I used to think that the Chinese buffets were sometimes really too cheap, but now they are just MUCH too high! This one is the best example, the same buffet as before/for years, only the price has almost doubled???? Oh well... I'm curious if my honest review won't be approved by Google again LOL

The food was good, service was good, nice ambiance. Reservation recommended for weekend. We had no reservation on a Friday evening but they still got us a table after 20 minutes.

We ate at the "Golden Lily" on Saturday (both à la carte and buffet). Before you come in you go through a stairwell that smells of urine; the elevator is broken. The prices were confusing as the board outside the shop and the (sticky) menu said different prices (you should assume the more expensive price). The lunch menu is worth it at €7.50 including soup, the lunch buffet costs €15. Unfortunately the cutlery was not clean. Neither do the toilet rooms. The service was friendly, although there were slight difficulties in communication due to our telephone reservation. Nevertheless, the employees seemed to be trying hard. The food was okay - nothing more, nothing less. The portions are large, as you would expect from Asian restaurants. The restaurant as such has a lot of seats and doesn't seem very cozy. There was no music or anything like that, but there was the “typical Asian” decoration. All in all, nothing special and unfortunately not worth a second visit. You'll definitely find better Asian restaurants in Flensburg!

We have been regular guests at the Golden Lily for many years...I absolutely cannot understand the negative reviews. We have now tested out a lot of Asians and are almost ashamed of having cheated again and again. We always realize that this is our absolute favorite Chinese dish. The food is anything but bland and greasy. Soooo delicious dishes and all very flavorful. I also have my favorite dishes (the lemongrass/ginger/garlic sauce) that I would die for. The baked fish, so tender. We have ALWAYS had positive experiences with the service. They were never unfriendly, as others claim. That must be the guest's fault...I can't explain it any other way. The service was extremely polite and always had a smile at the start. I still love coming to you!!!

Fantastic restaurant and really good service and lovely food

The floor in the entrance area was so greasy and slippery... the Ala Card meal was very meat-heavy and unfortunately there was no sign of the vegetables that were supposed to be there according to the menu. The visit was unique... once and never again...

The buffet is very tasty and not as expensive as in other restaurants, but the selection is not that huge but sufficient. Unfortunately, the green drink is no longer available in the evening. The employees are all very friendly.

The food was delicious for everyone with a large selection at the buffet, you were greeted warmly and very child friendly We will recommend it and will come again.

Unfortunately, the Golden Lily gets more expensive with every visit! On the website the lunch buffet is stated as €11.90, today on February 15th, 2024 €14.90 was charged without there being any significant changes to the offer! On the drinks menu, which is located in the anteroom, the FLENS 0.4L is priced at €4.20, this price has long since been increased to €4.90!

We recommend! Whether you go to the buffet at lunchtime or buffet and à la carte in the evening. Everything is great. I'm a buffet person :-) and I think the selection is terrific. It's all very tasty. The service is always very friendly and you always get a table. We are happy to come to you and will continue to do so. Keep it up!

Unfortunately, the quality of the food has decreased significantly, but the prices have risen considerably. A lot of the fried food tasted like stale fat and the sauces were noticeably diluted or simply very salty. It's a shame, it was my favorite buffet a few years ago.
