Goldene Lilie in Flensburg

We were at the restaurant about an hour ago. It was an absolute disgrace; the quality has drastically declined, and things were constantly running out, forcing us to wait ages for refills, especially considering the prices (the place wasn't even half full). It was incredibly disappointing. We used to love coming here, but that's over now. A complete disaster.

Small but perfectly formed. I've loved going there since I was a child.

Prices are now simply outrageous. The price of the evening buffet has more than doubled.

The price-performance ratio is no longer right. It's deteriorated considerably. In the evenings, à la carte meals are no longer available; only buffets are available. ^^ Sad.

I gave one star just to be able to comment, it is the worst restaurant I have ever seen in my life, especially the employee. We decided to leave the restaurant so as not to beat him.

The worst place I've ever been. We came in and were greeted by a totally angry waiter who was yelling. We asked if we could sit by the window and got a very angry no. Afterwards he asked angrily what we should drink We had barely sat down. I asked for a drink menu which he yelled they didn't have we almost got scolded so we decided to leave I have never experienced such poor service. The good thing was that we found another fantastic Chinese restaurant Phönix which is really fantastic with a huge selection and service minded service

Very tasty buffet and friendly service. However, the buffet was refilled very slowly.

The food was delicious; we had a buffet. Unfortunately, several dishes weren't really warm, which means a deduction. However, since it was very tasty, I deducted a star for the ambiance. The waiter, presumably the boss, was very humorous and attentive.

As always, it was delicious. The buffet was constantly replenished, so there was always something for everyone. Very friendly staff.

We've eaten Mongolian food many times, but it's never been as bad as this. No sushi, no beef, no calamari, and mineral water in a carafe (supposed to be a 1-liter...well...and probably carbonated from the tap) for €6.90. When the manager shuffled over to take the money, he asked if we enjoyed it. He didn't even respond to the negative answer. Anyone who's happy here should go to any other Mongolian restaurant. We don't understand the positive reviews. I only give it one point so I can post it.

I'm not used to writing bad reviews but now I have to. The food (buffet) tasted too old, the shrimps weren't fresh and everything else was just bad except the rice, just really bad service and bad atmosphere. Unpleasant experience

We were at the Lilie on August 13th at 2 p.m. Since the buffet is available until 3 p.m., we went for it. The soup was so-so 🙄. We were very disappointed with the selection and taste of the buffet. Everything lacked flavor! When I went back to the buffet at 2:45 p.m., I was informed that the tables were being cleared. The dishes still needed to be washed. At 2:55 p.m., my husband was asked how he wanted to pay (card or cash?) by someone shouting from the counter. So he paid, and before we left, my husband went to the restroom. The waitress was very upset...she looked at the clock. We left the Lilie at 3:05 p.m. and will certainly not be going back. What a shame!!!!

It used to be good, but today I tried it again since the change of ownership. It was terrible. It had a strange aftertaste! Some of the food was cold! There was no fish at all. Why should I fill it up? :) Other things like baked bananas weren't refilled either. You're supposed to stuff yourself with cheap rice and cold chicken. I'll be back in a few weeks. If it gets better, I'll adjust the rating. 1 However, it's gotten worse since the change of ownership! But I'll give it another chance.

Absolutely unacceptable. We had the lunch buffet for €15.90 each. The food isn't tasty; some dishes are mediocre at best. I always wondered who ate fries at the Asian buffet. I did the same here, because everything else had a strange aftertaste. The ice cream from the freezer was quite good, but the spoon wasn't hygienic. The staff is friendly and at least they try hard. The surroundings are also unacceptable. There are a lot of rowdy and drunk homeless people outside the restaurant, and the stairwell to the restaurant on the first floor is filthy and disgusting. We won't be back.

Wir waren gestern zu zweit zum Abendbuffet vor Ort. Die Getränke und das Essen waren schnell bestellt und ich bin anschließend auf die Herrentoilette gegangen. Die beiden Sitztoiletten waren nicht benutzbar, da ansonsten der Inhalt bei einer weiteren Spülung übergelaufen wäre. Die rechte Toilette war zusätzlich in einem solchen Maße mit Fäkalien verdreckt, so wie ich es Wochen vorher in der Flensburger Bahnhofstoilette erst gesehen habe. Ich habe dem Kellner (älteres Modell mit sehr schlechtem Deutschkenntnissen) das Vorgefundene erzählt. Allerdings war seine Reaktion, dass man um den Zustand wüsste aber der Chef aktuell nichts unternehmen wollte. Wir haben die bestellten Getränke bezahlt und das Essen abbestellt, da wir solche Lokale mit dieser Einstellung nicht unterstützen wollen. Auf ein Foto zu diesen Zuständen habe ich auf diesen Seiten verzichtet, da ich diesen Anblick keinem zumuten möchte. Es gab in der Vergangenheit viele schöne Esserlebnisse in dem Restaurant aber es wird in Zukunft keine weiteren Besuche in der Goldenen Lilie geben. Ich kann jedem nur empfehlen, macht einen großen Bogen um das Lokal .

We arrived at 2:00 p.m., and the buffet is open until 3:00 p.m. It was too late anyway; there were only lukewarm leftovers to try. Roast chicken with vegetables was just cooking—it was also very tasty 😋 We'll go again—but earlier this time.

We were there at 8:20 p.m., and the sign outside said it was open until 10:00 p.m. We were put under pressure right from the start! They said the buffet only had one hour left. It wasn't refilled sufficiently, and we were repeatedly reminded of the time limit. There was no question of a relaxed meal! Dessert was taken from under our noses! The stairwell was dirty and not exactly inviting. And all in all, the staff was just unpleasant; I wouldn't set foot in that place again.

The selection was very poor The service was basically non-existent, apart from the people arguing at the bar. Had to pay for 1 glass of water for the only bottle of red wine they could offer.

We were there on Sunday afternoon. The waitress was there briefly and then she was not seen again. There were leftovers under the tables. The ice cream scoop was in dirty water but there was no ice cream, it was from the day before and the shop was empty. There were two more people there. We have been loyal customers for over 20 years and have tried it for the second time. The quality has gone down. It was a lovely time, unfortunately we won't be coming back.

Service brings you to the table, makes you wait 10 minutes, doesn't ask for drinks until other guests get a table and the ice cream isn't that good, the food is sometimes cold... not really recommendable

One of the best buffets I've ever been to. The food is delicious and flavorful. The service is excellent, always friendly. And the restaurant is huge.

There were two of us, and it was our first time there without a reservation. Unfortunately, we didn't turn around in the disgusting stairwell; that should have warned us. The restaurant serves mostly buffet food, because when the waiter wanted to take our order after 10 minutes, he was obviously very surprised that we had asked for the menu first. He then came back with one menu for both of us and immediately pointed out that the prices on it were all incorrect; he had saved the correct prices on his waiter's phone. When we asked if that meant all the dishes were now more expensive and why they hadn't adjusted the menu straight away, he told us something along the lines of how he could adjust the price on his waiter's phone to match the menu using the minus button, and left us sitting with the one menu. After we had a quick look at some of the dishes from the buffet, we decided to go somewhere else to eat. Best regards to the tax office!

Amazingly delicious food. Service is always very nice and friendly. The atmosphere is wonderful, the store is always clean and tidy. The buffet is highly recommended and always a hit.

There is nothing to complain about when it comes to food. Sometimes it is very, very crowded, especially at buffet time, which affects the service and the ambience. Plates are not cleared away, everything is very loud. But always friendly staff and hardly anything else to complain about.

I ate about 3 plates, some of the food was cold and didn't look particularly fresh. Well... when I went to dessert and got some raspberry jelly, I noticed blue mold on it. I mentioned this to the waiter, who took the plate away from me and left. As a service person, I would have had the drinks paid for, everything would have been fine. No! The waiter became very unfriendly and not because he noticed that the white shirt and vest were smeared with disgusting stains, but because he insisted that I pay the full price?! Never this restaurant again!!

We had lunch at the buffet yesterday. It was absolutely delicious! The welcome and service were very friendly. The prices were very reasonable. We'd love to come back.

We went to the dinner buffet with eleven people on March 25, 2025. The occasion was a birthday. We had reserved and after our very nice, older regular waiter pointed out that the prices had increased due to the change in ownership. We were shocked!!!! Almost 10 euros per dish price increase. Just under 25 euros for the buffet. I took another dish away from home. Declared 10.90 on the map outside. Fatal mistake. I paid 19.90 for beef shop suey with rice. The green drink at the end of the meal was discontinued for cost reasons. In between we went outside to smoke and were shouted at by the new staff in the entrance with the words: get out of here... (he pushed a cart with drinks) We take that literally. You'll never see us there again!!!!!! We are very sorry for the old service staff. But this price increase is an absolute disgrace

I was here for the buffet in the evening. At the beginning I have to point out that the prices for this on the website are not current but are a few € higher. Since I didn't know how busy the weekend would be, I wanted to reserve a table in advance. However, my calls and emails were not responded to. But reservations are possible because when I arrived, some tables were marked with a corresponding sign. The food itself was fine, as was the selection. I would say that this restaurant serves a good Chinese buffet including desserts for which the price is right.

The food is still really good and always plentiful. The staff is great. Really have no complaints. Haven't been there for years, but it's still great, highly recommended.

Bland food, dirty, overpriced and uprofessionel staff. What happened to this place? It used to be one of my favorite places. Now its an empty shell of its former self. The food was so bland and the place so dirty and cold i just wanted to get out of there rather then enjoying an evening out. And the waiter seriously got annoyed and angry because we wanted to pay with visa/mastercard because their payment processing machine didnt work. How is that our fault? What is this? 2005? So we just payed cash and got out of that terrible place.

The atmosphere and the staff there is good. It is a small but cozy restaurant with a window view of Angelburgerstrasse. The selection at the buffet was very limited compared to other Asian restaurants. Personally, I didn't like the food there. Neither the fried noodles nor the vanilla sauce that I got for dessert. My friend, however, liked the food for the money. He found the meat very tasty. As a vegetarian, I didn't have much choice but they had tofu, which I haven't seen at any other Asian restaurant. I am of the opinion that you should make up your own mind because some people like it, but others don't.

Golden Lily has declined significantly. Everything somehow tastes the same and a lot of things seem bland. The head waiter apparently had a cold on our last visit and was still constantly getting snot in his nose. And also at the table when he served us. Everything seemed a bit unappetizing. We won't go there again.

The price on their website was not the same with the one at the restaurant . Website said 18 and it was actually 24 euro for the buffet. Was there 18 february and it was super cold inside . We had to wear our jackets when eating. And also the don't serve the complimentary cocktail any more. But despite all that the food is still very good.

The entrance area isn't the nicest...the restaurant itself is okay. So far everyone has been very polite and nice. Had a buffet, which is quite small and unfortunately not refilled quickly enough. Price: Online lunch buffet price €11.90 In front of the door there is a board with a lunch buffet €15.90 and on the bill the price is €18.90 because Saturday lunchtime. Vi besøgte stedet efter at have læst om spisestedet på hjemmesiden. Vi fik buffet og der manglede mange retter efter beskrivelsen. Maden var middelmådig. Buffeten kostede 12 Euro i følge hjemmesiden, men da vi skulle betale var prisen 20 Euro og børnene skulle også betale 20 Euro. Aldrig mere Goldene Lilie.

We have been going to this Chinese restaurant for decades and have always been very satisfied, in our opinion the best in Flensburg. The extremely negative reviews of the last six months didn't stop us from going there again last Wednesday and forming our own opinion. Unfortunately we have to confirm almost all negative points. At first glance everything looks the same, but upon closer inspection you notice: -The used buffet plates are not cleared away quickly, as they used to be, but remain standing -the waitresses stand behind the counter and stare at their cell phones instead of taking care of the guests -To order something, you have to call through the restaurant -The beer was stale and without foam -The preheated plates were out and weren't refilled, we had to help ourselves to cold plates in a corner -The duck was soft and wobbly, definitely not crispy and was only refilled very hesitantly and sparsely -the beef was tough -We had to go to the counter to pay because the waitress couldn't be persuaded to come to our place Unfortunately, I didn't pay attention to the individual price, which is much criticized here, but over 70 euros in total for 2 x buffet and four drinks is already steep The restaurant was noticeably empty and part of it was even completely closed, which was never the case earlier during the week. After so many years, this was definitely the last visit to the Golden Lily, which is a very, very shame.

Leider müssen wir uns den vielen negativen Bewertungen anschließen: Das Restaurant hat in jeder Hinsicht stark nachgelassen, nur das Essen vom Büfett ist noch akzeptabel, aber inzwischen rettungslos überteuert. Die Speisen sind nur lauwarm und fade gewürzt. Insgesamt wirkt das Personal völlig überfordert, versteht die Bestellungen nicht (zu geringe Deutschkenntnisse?), reagiert kaum oder sehr verspätet, verwechselt die Getränke usw. Der Zustand der Toiletten ist unzumutbar: Alles verschmutzt, Papier auf dem Fußboden verstreut, Haare in den Waschbecken und in den Toilettenbecken, Gestank usw., eigentlich unglaublich. Und das blaue Abschlussgetränk auf Kosten des Hauses, auf das wir uns immer besonders gefreut hatten, ist ersatzlos gestrichen. Meine Frage, ob wir alkoholfreien Sekt bekommen könnten, wurde verneint (nicht verstanden?). Der runde Tisch, der uns schließlich nach einer Fehlleitung und einem Tischwechsel zugewiesen wurde, wackelte erheblich,usw. Dies mag als Auflistung der Unerfreulichkeiten genügen und hat zur Folge, dass wir dieses Restaurant nicht wieder besuchen werden.

Viele Jahre sind dort gern gegessen, Tisch könnte man spontan nicht bekommen. Der Besitzerwechsel hat den Laden ruiniert. Das Essen schmeckt nicht mehr so gut wie letztes Jahr, es gibt kein Alkohol mehr, einige Standards wurden weggelassen, die Einrichtung ist in die Jahre gekommen, manche Tische haben Abplatzungen. Nun kommt der Knaller, der Preis von 23,50 Euro geht absolut nicht. War das letzte Mal, dass wir da waren.

The price-performance ratio is no longer right and we can no longer recommend the Golden Lily. It's a shame, it's the last time for a long time.

We had dinner there about 4 weeks ago, my husband spontaneously said let's go there again to eat, it was a mistake! The buffet was just cold, everything was somehow greasy! It took forever for something to be refilled. Things have deteriorated greatly, plates were only cleared from the table upon request. Drinks came to the table quite quickly. In the past there was always a green cocktail at the end!! It was lost. Well, the topic of hygiene in the toilets is a mess! Maybe it would be best if the store closed completely. We used to be regular customers Oh well, after eating on the way home we both had stomach pains.

Golden Lily is OK, small selection but delicious! Unfortunately, the fact that everything became more expensive after the pandemic could not be changed. But now there is another price increase within a short period of time, from 19.90 to 23.90 even though there is no reason for it! Currently, maintenance costs have not increased. Good morning, I can't confirm all the bad reviews. At the bottom of the entrance there is a price board with the respective buffet prices, which are cheaper during the week than on the weekend. We were here at 6 p.m. and found a warm, fresh and, above all, full buffet. We didn't have to wait, we were shown straight to the table and our drink order was taken immediately afterwards. The only downside: no á la carte orders during the buffet. I can't judge how the whole thing will turn out at a later hour. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether the prices are justified as a vegetarian. We had a great, delicious evening and will definitely come back!

We haven't been to Flensburg since the Corona pandemic and treated ourselves to the evening buffet. On the homepage this is advertised as €17.90 and at the door entrance the menu is then plastered over with €23.90, which represents a price increase of over 33%. As always, the food was great and the containers were constantly being refilled until 8 p.m. The highlight is the duck, although it wasn't as crispy as it used to be. Otherwise everything was super fresh and hot. The drinks are a big point of criticism. In addition to draft beer, there are countless PET bottles and fruit juice drinks on the counter, unrefrigerated, from discounters Aldi or Lidl. At €0.25 for 1.5 liters of goods and almost €4 for a glass of water, it's an absolute disgrace! Therefore, visiting this restaurant once a year is enough and probably €30 per person. Who else wants to go out to dinner with 4 people?

After a long search online, I finally found an offer for Peking duck on the Golden Lily homepage, called and made a reservation for four people and specifically ordered Peking duck. We then took an hour-long drive and were full of anticipation. There are no parking spaces directly in front of the door, you can park for a fee in the nearby shopping center. Unfortunately, we were already upset before we entered the restaurant. The elevator was in "maintenance" on a Friday evening. Homeless people sat in front of the entrance, begging and insulting passers-by. When we arrived upstairs with my mother, older and with walking difficulties, the next disappointment. There is no Peking Duck there anymore, it just hasn't been deleted from the internet yet. After thinking about it for a moment, we stayed there anyway and tested the buffet. A small selection compared to our regular Chinese restaurant, to whom we drive less than an hour. But everything was delicious so far, except for the fried rice, which none of the four of us liked. We didn't try vegan. The peanut sauce was absolutely perfect I couldn't sort out the taste of the ice cream, which was a shame, but the fruit salad was fresh. It was okay, but unfortunately not what we ordered.

Das Buffet ist sehr überschaubar, dazu viele Schüsseln leer. Viele Speisen waren nur lauwarm, das Gemüse war kalt, das Hühnerfleisch ebenso. Wenn überhaupt, dann langweilig gewürzt, überwiegend billigstes Convenience. Die gebratenen Nudeln waren auch nur lauwarm, dazu öltriefend. Fazit: eine absolute Enttäuschung. 1 x und nie wieder.

Increasing the price from €14.90 to €23.90 with less performance is underground. Until now, if you wanted to earn more, you had to sell more. Today they simply increase the price. We were there today, Sunday lunchtime, and we were surprised because the place was almost empty. The reason for this was the new prices: €24 for the buffet, €16 on weekdays. The buffet is not only sparse as ever, but also of poorer quality. It was too fatty and the peanut sauce, which was always good, tasted terrible. For us: Never again!!!!

It's unbelievable why such high prices are being charged here, I'd be interested to know why. Here you just cash in and nothing is invested. Golden Lily was always my top favorite. Before Corona: lunch buffet €7.50 After Corona: €10.50. Okay, you can live with that During inflation the price rose to 14.50 (I saw this about 1-2 months ago) Well: Lunch buffet: 18.50 for the SAME food. They don't even TAKE THE EFFORT to change anything. They literally drive the price up and up without changing anything in terms of performance. I would understand if you suddenly had a little more choice at lunchtime. But like that... I have no idea what the Golden Lily is thinking, but if they continue like this, it's only a matter of time before the store closes. Anyone who accepts the constant, immense and almost brazen increases in prices can of course continue to enjoy the delicious food. Until they don't change anything... there are plenty of other delicious Chinese/Vietnamese restaurants... You will be treated completely disgustingly. Sometimes overly nice. Of course it depends on the waiter and his mood. In the past, things like this weren't so extreme that they were noticeable. Too bad!

03/20/2024 Since the Golden Lily has new management, it's horrible to eat there. The greeting was extremely unfriendly. We had made a reservation and had to wait 15 minutes, which in itself was ok, but then we were told that we only had 1 hour to eat. We waited 20 minutes for the drinks and the table next door even longer. All in all a very poor performance. Review changed after 4 hours!!!!! After eating I had a very queasy feeling in my stomach and unfortunately I also threw up so something wasn't quite right with the food!!!!!!!!!!!! Eating from 3 stars down to 1 and for me personally it was the last time I ate at the Lilie!!! Visited again on September 13th, 2024 because we wanted to give it another chance as it was our favorite restaurant to date. The prices are outrageously high. At the beginning of the year we paid around 50-60€ for 3 people with drinks! When we visited today we simply lost 95€ because the buffet on Sunday was raised to 25€ per head, a whole 8€ more as the beginning of the year and that you because there is a new owner in it....... The selection is again very poor, some containers are empty and the quality has also decreased. Conclusion: all in all, not another visit!!!! For the money you can definitely eat better in Flensburg.

Golden Lily- ha - more like WITHELING CARNATION 1st floor Elevator is probably being replaced after years. Had a buffet lunch with 5 people. €16.95 The unanimous opinion: terrible No choice, everything tasted like cinnamon, curry and cloves. No crispy duck, no sushi, a container with pork and vegetables in a brown sauce, a second container with chicken and vegetables in the same sauce, chicken with pineapple pieces in a light sauce, which tasted like the others. Small, sweet-tasting Mettballs [Köttbullar] in the same dark sauce. Even the fried noodles tasted like the spice mix. That's it - with fries and bean sprouts, whichever side dishes were available. No salad or vegetables. Couple from Berlin, 1 from Hanover. We agreed that we had never had such terrible food at an Asian restaurant. Even in a stall at some market it tasted better. Staff inattentive, no question about a new drink, plates were not cleared. Definitely not recommended.

The restaurant certainly has the most friendly waiters in town! The ambience is great and there is everything you could dream of! 🤩 The Golden Lily is definitely worth a visit when you're in town! 😁🥢

The arch is now finally spanned. This will be the THIRD price increase in 2024. The cards cannot be printed as quickly as the prices increase. The lunch buffet has cost an impressive 15.95 euros since September 1st, 2025. Inflation is decreasing - only in the Golden Lily is there hyperinflation. What do you expect from the customer? That he pays 30 euros per person for lunch for a standard, uncreative meal with a drink and a tip? Added to this are parking fees and the hassle that both families with strollers and seniors who have difficulty walking are left out because the elevator has been broken for over a year. By the way, the meeting house is dirty and needs to be cleaned with a high-pressure cleaner. So it's no wonder that because of this greed for money, guests are increasingly staying away and Flensburg's city center is dying. There are plenty of examples, see Flensburg Holmpassage etc. Sadly sad.

Were there on Sunday. €23.90 for the lunch buffet!!! Food that I wouldn't even donate to the homeless. Frozen chicken. TK beef. TK schnitzel. Frozen duck. Soup was cold & didn't taste like anything. I've never eaten so badly. I can only recommend everyone to eat somewhere else. Even Mecces offers more. An absolute disgrace.

Food was very poor. We used to eat there often. Now a little less. It's a shame, but it's very nice there.

Standard Chinese buffet OK for the price but no culinary revelation

Lunch buffet during the week: very limited selection. There are photos of the buffet in front of the door and online, but with little consistency. Fries in a warming dish that works with steam - instead of freshly added. “Breaded chicken” was flattened turkey schnitzel in the simplest breading and then cut crosswise into small pieces. Every snack bar can do that better. Overall disappointing. No one came to check on us during the entire stay. So there was only one drink. Never again.

As regular guests, we have always been satisfied with the high quality and taste of the food and the overwhelming friendliness of the staff. I posted that 5 years ago. This has changed now. With the change of ownership everything got worse. The young staff is disinterested, doesn't care about the guests and seems like they don't give a shit. No please or thank you or how did you like it. The boss wasn't there. The buffet was supposed to open at 5:30 p.m., but at 5:50 p.m. half of it was still missing. The floor is dirty, the toilets have no soap dispensers or are empty. The impression of the restaurant is shabby and unkempt. The access on the ground floor is terrible and the elevator is always broken. Only the older waiter keeps the place running. When it's gone, we definitely won't be coming back. Constructive criticism is not accepted with a shrug of the shoulders. Because the price is way too high, I'd rather go to a steakhouse. You are still welcome and valued there.

Leider ist das Restaurant nicht mehr zu empfehlen. Das Ambiente ist in die Jahre gekommen. Die Reinlichkeit läßt sehr zu wünschen übrig.Bis auf den älteren Kellner ist das Personal desinteressiert und kontaktlos. Das Buffet kam erst 20 Minuten nach offiziellem Beginn in Gang. Das Essen ist lecker, aber der Preis ist dafür zu hoch.
