Gokan in Berlin

It is truly an authentic meal as it is run by a Korean family. There they have GalbiJim, which is a real experience with tender beef. I've never tasted Korean cuisine like this before. Yummy!

So far I liked the Gokan. However, on my last visit I was totally disappointed. There is a new map. The food wasn't really good, especially all the side dishes (kimchi, mushrooms, vegetables, etc.) tasted strange and not tasty. My meat dish came with a kind of soup or broth that was completely unsuitable in taste and also tasted strange. I am always open to new taste experiences, I eat out in restaurants almost every day and I know a wide variety of cuisines around the world. But because of my last experience, I don't go to Gokan anymore. What I found most remarkable was that the cheapest version of Maggoli (a type of Korean rice wine) was only available for €4.90 per 0.1 liter! And it wasn't tasty either. A whole carafe of this used to cost around €12. Not sure about the previous price and quantity, but about 0.5 - 0.7 liters for around €12-14. And it was delicious! Incomprehensible price increase! The ambience is rather simple and cool, and when it's full it's very noisy as there's little sound-absorbing interior. I find it uncomfortable. The service was friendly and helpful, but it can't outweigh the negative aspects.

It was a lot of cabbages and onions, meat is too little. The Rice was cold... They turned off the gas grill a bit early so the cabbages weren't soft enough. Also can't expect nice service like in Korea.

I went to this Korean restaurant with my parents and I was very satisfied! The last time I came to Berlin, I couldn't go because the distance was right in downtown Berlin, but thanks to my parents' chance, I took Uber there! I had cypress stew, soybean paste stew, and stir-fried pork, and they were all delicious. I especially liked the steamed cypress tree! The owner is Korean and was very friendly, so I left the cold Berlin with a warm heart and stomach. It's a bit far from downtown, but I recommend it if you need some Korean food! And reservations are required!☺️

Rare Korean dishes There are some Korean dishes here that you can hardly see in any other restaurant in Berlin. Including the steamed vegetables, mushrooms and beef and also the snow ice cream (I recommend bean ice cream with extra red bean paste).

I found that it was super delicious black pork. I booked to taste it immediately. It is recommended to locate online first. His house is quite popular. My friend and I want to eat beef after eating pork. We are stuck and can't continue. I saw that there is still snowflake ice at his house. i must try more next time. The subway station is at the door. It's convenient, fast and delicious

The kimchi pancake was OK, but the bibimbap we ordered was unfortunately below average... too salty and with raw onions...? The japchae was also way too salty, as if it had been covered in soy sauce...unfortunately not edible. Maybe the other dishes here taste better, or we were just unlucky that day, but unfortunately the order was very disappointing.

Very friendly staff, delicious food. But the very bright lamps on the walls blind you when you turn your head in their direction, and the tables are very close to each other, so you can accidentally become a participant in someone else's conversation.

After spending 60 euros between the three of us, we wanted to order dessert. But we were denied this, every guest has to order a main course in order to be able to eat dessert. A main course and various starters weren't enough... the place was completely empty... We've eaten there several times before, but we've never experienced anything like this. If you behave like that, you shouldn't be surprised if no one comes anymore. Never again!

It was such a beautiful evening, the service was excellent and attentive and, above all, incredibly friendly. The food reminded me of my last trip to Seoul and was so delicious, Korean BBQ is highly recommended!!!!. And of course the Bingsu with mango couldn't be missed either. We will definitely come back. I'm already looking forward to it.

As a Schöneberg local and a Korean, I have been coming here for a few years now and have always been impressed with their consistent quality of food, service and atmosphere. Authentic dishes with high quality ingredients nicely presented by well-trained staff. I can only recommend for both casual lunches and special occasions for a big group.

We had a wonderful evening at this busy Korean restaurant. We tried out the BBQ under friendly guidance and were thrilled. Best with reservation. The table is booked for 2 hours in the slots 6-8 p.m. and 8-10 p.m. We will be back.

The Korean BBQ was very good and we would have come back for it. The prices are reasonable for the location and the quality of the food. Unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing, especially from the boss, who unfortunately didn't want to or couldn't show customer orientation. We had reserved a table for six people. The person who made the reservation was informed by email that the table was only available for two hours. The other five didn't know about this because it wasn't mentioned by the waiters and the person who made the reservation missed it in the email. Now we ordered a lot, but the first order took 40 minutes to arrive. After 1:30 hours in the restaurant we ordered another round. When the food was served after another 15 minutes, we were clearly informed that we had to finish it within 15 minutes because we were no longer welcome in the restaurant after that. We mentioned that we had just ordered again and the waiters had not informed us that the time was about to expire. We finally spoke to the boss, who acted bossy and didn't want to or couldn't look for a common solution. With a bill of over €300 you could have expected better service. Half an hour more time would have been very reasonable, but the restaurant was hopelessly overbooked and people were waiting in line outside the restaurant. Considering the time was running out, we could have expected faster service and also a notice on the second order that our time was about to run out. Regarding the ambience, it can be mentioned that it is a normal restaurant like in any other old building in Berlin, nothing special. It was winding and quite narrow as the tables were placed close together. The furnishings have a modern design, but there is no feeling of comfort. Because of this disappointing experience, my circle of friends will never visit this restaurant again, as I will veto us ever going there again. I still tell the stories in detail, even a few years later.

Korean BBQ a little more expensive. There were two of us there and we ordered the classic Korean BBQ. The selection of food, especially meat for the BBQ, was large. The service was really excellent and always very friendly. Seating options are limited especially if you want to sit outside. It is better to reserve in advance if you need several places. Inside, the store is beautifully and invitingly decorated. The meat came very quickly and was grilled for us directly by the service staff. There was an incredible amount as a side dish. From the classic lettuce to the dark kimchi to spicy cucumbers, everything tasted really good. A refill of the inserts is free of charge. For people with a large appetite, it is enough to feel 70-80% full. Overall very satisfied, the price is relatively high but commensurate with the quality of the service and food.

There were three of us in the restaurant. the table was very dirty. After waiting for minutes, some cleaning was finally done. We were served cold bibimbap. When we asked about it, we were half-heartedly told that it was a specialty of the restaurant. Finally came an unfriendly condition telling us that we had to leave the store within 17 minutes because they wanted to close the store. it was a very stressful experience at this restaurant. Takes a lot of getting used to!

It's so delicious! I had braised ribs and kimchi pancake and soybean paste stew, but the soybean paste stew was a bit bland. However, when I ate it with braised ribs and kimchi pancake, it went well together!!! It was the best Korean food I've had in Europe recently.

There were three of us in your restaurant. (17/06 at 8pm) We ordered 2 beef BBQs and 1 kimchi soup and 1 pancake. It is worth mentioning here that 2 portions of grilled beef are listed on the menu as 360 grams (180 grams/1), but when the meal is served, the beef is really too little. I asked the waitress and the waitress said the amount of meat had already been weighed in the kitchen and if we wanted more we should order another portion and there was not the slightest concern or concern for the dissatisfied customer. As a waiter in a Korean BBQ restaurant, I personally don't find the service good!!! At least you have to go back to the kitchen and ask the customer again and confirm that the scale is right, or give the customer a little more meat if the customer complains. But this place had no feedback at all and left us alone during the meal! Our bill was 95 euros but the three of us weren't happy with that and then we had to go to another restaurant to eat! I certainly won't recommend it to friends to eat again!

I ordered a lunch menu. No taste. When I ordered tea, the tea cup came out with a canning cup. I noticed rust and immediately changed the cup, but it still felt uncomfortable and there was rust on the handle of the cup. The food was very salty and the rice that came out was not tasty. Those who say the food here is delicious must be very salty eaters!

Very tasty, fresh food and great service. I'm writing this review after I've been there 4 times and always had someone else working in service. The toilet was okay in terms of cleanliness, the kitchen always looked great when we walked past and the food was prepared fresh and direct. Highly recommended, but more for adults without children.

Attention: In this restaurant, guests who only want to order shaved ice will not be given a table. This restaurant had another location near us that only offered shaved ice. Unfortunately this restaurant has been closed for a few months. So we drove a long way in the evening to come here and eat shaved ice. When we were already seated, we wanted to order two portions of mango shaved ice cream for a total of 25 euros. We were then told that we couldn't get a table if we only wanted to order shaved ice. Since we had already had dinner and only wanted to eat shaved ice, I asked if we could order additional drinks to bring the total to 35 euros. But that wasn't possible either. The waitress told us to come back in an hour, just before the kitchen closed. Then we could take a seat, even if many tables were still free. I find this approach very regrettable. I would like to point out that guests who only want to come for the shaved ice don't come here for free.

We had already eaten beforehand, but we still wanted to order shaved ice in this weather because of the good reviews. That's why we drove there again in the evening (with a long route). Unfortunately it was rejected because no table was only served with ice cream. That's why we politely asked if we could order drinks in addition to shaved ice. We cannot understand and accept this regulation, although actually a portion of shaved ice is not a small amount and one could (should) be allowed to order it individually. We left dissatisfied.

Terrible service... they asked us to leave for other tables after some time, which was a shock. Not very nice and the portions were small and not good enough to justify the price. There are hundreds of better korean restaurants over Berlin, this one is just not it.

This is a restaurant I conveniently booked and visited on Google while traveling in Berlin. I was very grateful that all of the staff were friendly and listened to any inconveniences right away. First of all, the side dishes were well prepared and each and every one of them was delicious. The cucumber salad that looked so ordinary turned out to be a great appetizer!! I ordered steamed cypress, but most foreigners around me ordered barbecue. It smelled so delicious that I held back from ordering more :) This is a place I want to visit the next time I go to Berlin!!

On April 12, 2024, my wife and father-in-law stopped by Berlin from Braunschweig and visited this restaurant 1km away. At around 14:30, after having difficulty parking, I went in in good spirits to eat some Korean food and bring some food. A young woman who seemed like the owner firmly said Nein. The kitchen closes at 14:30. I came here on purpose and asked if I could eat as quickly as 3 o'clock, and I was told that I could only bring bulgogi or bibimbap, so after asking several times, I finally brought some food after the meal. I would like to tell the owner a few things I felt. First: Change the online menu saying you can eat until 3:00 to 2:30. If you go at 2:30 and you are adamant that you can't eat, the customers will think it makes no sense. Second: It's a bit late, but if a foreigner comes to visit you from afar, even from afar, after looking at the Internet, please show at least some courtesy and kindness. Isn’t that the service industry and not a government office? And if you write that meals are available until 3 p.m. and then just say Nein without any explanation, it doesn't make sense. As a Korean, I also feel sorry for my wife and father-in-law, and I feel sad that the inherent affection and kindness of Koreans has evaporated and become so commercialized.

Great service, amazing bbq! BBQ comes with a variety of sides, all of which are refillable. Inside the restaurant the air circulation is very decent for a BBQ place, which is not the case everywhere. Keep coming back here again and again and the experience is always positive.

Sehr gute koreanische Grillspeisen. Äusserst speditive (manchmal fast zu schnelle) Bedienung. Der Grill mit Iberico ist besonders zu empfehlen. Wermutstropfen - die Lüftung dürfte besser sein!

As a korean I can confirm the foods here are really authentic! Dakgangjeong & Dubu Gangjeong were our favs 👍🏼 Servers were also super friendly and nice and it felt like home :) Ill def go back again soon Thank you so much for the food and for being so kind 🙌🏻 I think it would be better if the seafood and green onion pancakes were mixed with egg water better and had more seafood and green onions/scallions. The spicy chicken and tofu and japchae were so delicious. I ate🫶🏼

Unfortunately, the staff was very rude, you got the impression that you were being thrown out. Glasses were cleared away and not even asked if you wanted anything else or if everything was okay. The dumplings as a starter are not recommended. Frozen goods, fried to death, so that the sauce served with it had no chance of sticking and there was no taste. Main course was okay but nothing special. There are two stars for the small side dishes that were served to everyone. The dessert was probably good but I can't rate it because I didn't eat it myself. The dishes look stylish but metal chopsticks? Well, enthusiasm looks different.

This is a real restaurant! Actually, I also really like +82 (Plus AchtZwo), but it goes without saying that it’s a sister restaurant. So, I’m a regular here, so I come here every time I have a day off. The service is the best… Best taste... Injeolmi shaved ice shaved ice is the best. If you enjoy grilling, I recommend pork ribs! You say you want to eat cleanly as a single item... Bibimbap is a must... Even though there are people who haven't been there, there won't be people who haven't come once, right? I am one of them ㅠㅠ Really delicious… I will take pictures of the pork ribs and leave a review soon!

The food is too expensive. We ordered the beef fillet for 19.99 euros, but everyone only got TWO bites... That's absurd...

It was so well... Price performance for BBQ not good. We ordered chicken for 2 people for €40, which was far too little meat and so spicy that it was hard to enjoy... the bulgogi, on the other hand, was again good. Staff very friendly… The ambience, volume, etc. were rather uncomfortable.

They did good job on interior. If you are looking for authentic Korean food, here is not a good choice. And the service was not good enough We ordered Kimchi Stew, it was way too salty. We told them it is salty, they brought new one, still salty. Told them again, but still salty. When we were done with food, hall manager asked us how the food was. We said everything was fine but the Kimchi Stew was too salty. She said, it’s because they make it for german people. I’m pretty sure it is still too salty for german people. What we expected is a solution not an excuse.

Modern and minimalistic interieur and decent food. But not extraordinary. The soy bean pancakes were dry and rather boring. The galbi beef was a little bitte too intense in flavour but really tender.

We made reservations last minute , but were kindly given seats. The food was really good and portion sizes are huge. Its a nice place to come with a group so you can try more dishes. Service was nice as well. My favourite was the fried chicken 💯

I saw Jisoo check in and ordered the same barbecue as her. The utensils for barbecue in this store are quite special. The beef is also very tender and marinated well. The clerk will tell you how to barbecue. But the price is high and the portion is average

The place is great, food is delicious. The portion sizes for the BBQ might be small for some, so when in a bigger group it’s recommend to order it twice. However- there is a two hour limit, starting from when the first person arrives. Perhaps not something for everyone 😅.

The very good reviews persuaded me to visit this Korean restaurant. Unfortunately, I didn't like it as much as I had hoped. The bingsu and the yuzu tea were really very tasty, but I didn't like the kbbq :( the meat was bland with no taste and I didn't find the paste that was for dipping tasty either. The service, on the other hand, was very friendly and grilled for us at the table.

I ordered a meal for €13 that came without rice and without any side dishes. Chicken marinated in sugar is totally disgusting. Never again.

The Gokan on Leberstrasse in Schöneberg is a small but fine Korean restaurant. The interior is somewhat spartan, but it is still cozy. We were there on weekdays at 6 p.m., right when the restaurant opened and a few tables were already occupied, the remaining tables soon filled up, so you should make a reservation to be on the safe side. The service was very friendly and quick, and the food was served fairly quickly. The taste was very tasty, very authentic and the spiciness was “Asian Spicy”. I'm not sure if it was because as Koreans we ordered in Korean but the Dak Galbi was pretty Asian spicy. :-). The rest of the dishes were also very tasty. Next time we'll come back and will definitely order the Namu Zim, which looked very tasty (at the neighboring table) and is a dish that, as far as I know, is only available here in Gokan. This involves meat and vegetables that are cooked in a wooden box and then eaten with a sauce. Delicious.

Both the main menu and side dishes were good. And the servers were very friendly. I recommend it!

Just stopby per Google ranking. Cabbages were not so fresh, glass noodle is too sweet. But in general the restaurant serves more than medium quality of foods and the Kimchi is real origin.

여행차 베를린에 갔다가 추석맞이 한식당을 찾아서 간 건데 너무너무 만족했어요! 추석에 기대 안 했던 갈비찜을 먹을 수 있어서 행복했고, 주문한 갈비찜, 김치전 모두 한국에서 먹는 것처럼 훌륭한 맛이었습니다!! 다녀와서 온갖 친구들한테 추천해서 외국인친구들도 바로 다음날 가보고 했네요!! 독일에서 가본 한식당 중 최고입니다!! 메뉴당 양이 많진 않지만, 양이 많고 가격이 높은 것 보다 좋습니다. 분위기도 깔끔하고, 식기도 신경쓰신 게 보여서, 한식 소개하기 좋은 장소같아요:)

Die Erfahrung wurde jedoch nicht nur durch das hervorragende Essen, sondern auch durch den außergewöhnlichen Service bereichert. Das Personal war unglaublich nett, aufmerksam und professionell. Sie sorgten dafür, dass mein Besuch zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis wurde. Besonders bemerkenswert war die Aufmerksamkeit des Restaurants für besondere Anlässe. Wir hatten das Glück, einen Geburtstag in unserer Gruppe zu feiern, und das Gokan-Team überraschte uns mit koreanischem selbstgemachtem Eis, das sie großzügig aufs Haus servierten. Dies war eine herzliche Geste, die unsere Feier noch besonderer machte. Die Atmosphäre im Restaurant war ebenfalls sehr angenehm und einladend. Die Einrichtung war geschmackvoll und authentisch, was zum Gesamterlebnis beitrug. Alles in allem kann ich das Koreanische Restaurant Gokan uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Es bietet nicht nur köstliche koreanische Gerichte von höchster Qualität, sondern auch einen erstklassigen Service und eine herzliche Gastfreundschaft, die den Besuch zu etwas Besonderem machen. Ich freue mich bereits darauf, bald wiederzukommen und mehr von ihrer vielfältigen Speisekarte zu probieren.

If you are looking for a great BBQ experience, there is nothing special about this restaurant. Food is okayish. As a whole, the prices are not justified, when you can get way better food experience elsewhere.

Un Coréen à l'ambiance minimaliste, aux plats très typiques et très bons, avec quelques recettes que je n'ai pas vu ailleurs. Petite terrasse devant, service sympa et prix corrects !

LA GALBI was insane... It reminded me of home, especially korean new years and thanksgiving... <3 I can't even remember the last time I had this since I live in europe. But highly highly recommend. And the dessert, bingsoo, was perfect as well. Coming back to Berlin for this.

Super good authentic Korean Bbq. Keep in mind that you'll spend a bit more than for an average dinner. But this is 100% worth it. Good sides, fine service and nice seating. I definitely recommend it.

Man braucht ein wenig Geduld, doch wenn die Bedienung kommt, ist alles super freundlich. Das Essen ist lecker, nicht zu viel und nicht zu scharf. Es gibt einen kleinen Außenbereich, die Straße ist wenig befahren und ruhig. Zu Corona Zeiten ist eine Reservierung empfehlenswert!Das Barbeque ist sehr zu empfehlen!

Authentic Korean BBQ restaurant well located in Schöneberg. Been here twice and you can reserve a table, however you can only stay for 90min max. So if you want to stay longer to enjoy a few more Sojus, this is not the place. The meat is always fresh and they have nice banchans. Japchae and Pancakes very salty. Service is okay. Plus: they grill the meat for you, but if it's too crowded you have to take over yourself. We went with a group of girls and it seemed like the waiters were not taking us seriously and made weird faces.

We ordered: Hweh-Dopbap, Galbi-Zim, Ganjang dakgangjung, Ginseng Tea. The chicken was Delicious the seasoning was on point. Slightly Crunchy as it should. The Beef ribs was exquisite. Woow, I totally recommend.

This is my go-to place for Korean food. I don't go anywhere else, because the taste here is very authentic and the food is served with more elegance than most other places. Can't really recommend the beef barbecue because the cuts are not very neat, but can definitely recommend the pork and chicken barbecue or the wood box.

Unfassbar leckerer & authentischer Koreaner. Mein Freund aus Korea "approved this message" und war ebenfalls begeistert. Definitiv eines meiner Lieblingsrestaurants in ganz Berlin. 😋 Bibimbap, Jummullock und Yuksu Bulgogi - der Wahnsinn. Der Kimchi Pfannkuchen ebenfalls. Dazu ist der Service unheimlich zuvorkommend und sehr freundlich. Das Schneeeis ist frech und außergewöhnlich gut. Definitive Empfehlung. Reservieren sollte man jeweils um 18 oder 20h.

My fav Korean restaurant in Berlin. Most of the menus are authentic Korean taste. The bibimbap and pajeon are really good and the chicken barbecue is quite spicy. A variety of delicious side dishes are served. Don't miss the Injeolmi Bingsu for dessert!

Leider wurde mir schon um 21:10 ganze 50 Minuten vor Schließung des Restaurants essen zum Mitnehmen verweigert, obwohl noch alle am essen waren. Scheinbar braucht man keine Kunden

This is a detailed, lengthy but worth-reading review. Today I visited Gokan with two friends and unfortunately, our experience left us extremely dissatisfied. I regret to say that I cannot recommend this restaurant based on the following reasons: Firstly, we ordered three portions of spicy chicken but were initially served a small portion suitable for only one or two persons. Although this mistake was eventually rectified, it caused unnecessary delays and interrupted our dining experience. To make matters worse, when we requested the side dishes due to our hunger, we were refused on the grounds that they are only provided once the chicken is cooked. We do not understand the logic here. However, it was the restaurant's mistake in the first place to have served us the wrong portion. Furthermore, at 9:50 PM, a full 40 minutes before their supposed closing time, we were repeatedly asked if we were finished with our food. This not only displayed a lack of professionalism but also demonstrated disrespect towards us as customers. The waiter (a male without glasses) proceeded to clear our table, removing utensils and even taking away most of our unfinished side dishes, despite our explicit statement that we were still eating. It is basic common sense to allow customers to enjoy the food they have paid for, isn't it? Moreover, when the waiter reluctantly returned one side dish to us, it was presented in an unsatisfactory manner. The dish was carelessly piled with used bowls, causing the food to be unclean, smashed and deformed. It was both unappetising and inconvenient. Adding to our frustration, the waiter explained that the rush was due to the kitchen closing at 10 PM. However, this information was never communicated to us during our reservation or upon arrival. According to Google, the restaurant's closing time is stated as 10:30 PM, so we were baffled by the unnecessary urgency and the waiter's insistence on hurrying us to finish our meal. It is disheartening that the mistakes made by the restaurant in providing the wrong portioned food resulted in us feeling rushed and unable to enjoy our meal properly. Overall, we were disappointed by the lack of respect and professionalism demonstrated by the staff at Gokan. Berlin has several other Korean restaurants that offer both quality food and attentive service. Unless you are seeking an experience similar to ours, I would suggest exploring those alternatives instead. Never again.
