Gobus Metzgergrill in Halle (Saale)

[Lieferando order] Food (Chicken fried noodles, egg fried rice with shrimp, and Hanoi spring rolls) Edible, but not as good or as cheap as the Asian takeaway nearby. Furthermore, the bowl of sauce that came in the same package as the spring rolls leaked, causing the rolls to become soggy. The delivery person was nice and wore a mask. Therefore, one more star. Update: Could have been better for €14. The chicken udon noodles and the beef pho le could have used some salt. And they could have taken the time to remove the strings from the baked bananas. The delivery person was okay.

When we're out and about and feeling a bit peckish, a visit to a Globus restaurant is usually a good option. That's what we thought about this restaurant too, and after a visit to the "Maya Mare" water park, we wanted to grab a bite to eat at the Globus in Halle. But what was this? By 2:30 p.m., most of the food stations were already empty, and there was more emptiness than anything else on offer. When I asked an employee if there was nothing left, I got a stressed and slightly rude reply that she'd been there all day and was now off duty. I certainly don't begrudge the employee her well-deserved time off, but I've only ever seen such strange opening hours at a Globus restaurant near Fürth a few years ago. They closed shortly after noon on Saturdays because they couldn't find any staff. We were forced to resort to the Asian food counter today, which didn't exactly inspire us. I'd rather leave the preparation of these dishes to the many Asian takeaways that actually know how to do it and are often cheaper. I'm still giving it two stars, though, because of the pleasantly chilled Coke and the very friendly cashier. Correction to my review two weeks later: Last week, at 12:30, we went back. The selection was indeed plentiful, and the staff was friendly—just what you'd expect from Globus. Therefore, I've increased my rating by one star!

The restaurant does not exist!!!

❗️ Excellent service and a nice selection ❗️ The service was very attentive and courteous, the food was prepared quickly and was tasty, though not exceptional. The venison roast was quite tough, but this was balanced out by the fried potatoes and the dessert. I didn't really like the ambiance, as it felt very bare and cold.

We rented the bowling alley at the Ankerhof for our Christmas party and ordered the buffet from Saalekahn. The atmosphere was lively, the service was excellent, and the cocktails were okay. But the food was probably the worst you can find in Halle. The mushroom soup tasted quite strange and caused severe diarrhea, the croquettes were swimming in oil, the only vegetarian dishes were contaminated with smoky flavoring, and the vegetables were mushy and bland. Basically, only the meat was edible, which isn't saying much when you buy it as a ready-made product and just keep it warm. Everything was basically frozen. Your cooks should all be fired, assuming any of them even have any training in this field. For €45 per person, we'll be better off reserving enough tables at the Alchemistenklause well in advance next time. Thanks for nothing. Never again Saalekahn.
