Great food and great conditions great atmosphere

Horrible Buffet — Total Rip-Off Chicken in curry was undercooked. The veg curry smelled rotten and tasted like it had been sitting for days — clearly old and spoiled. Non-veg korma tasted terrible and I wonder what ingredient he had added, it stinked. Pakoras were soggy and clearly made hours ago. Only got 2 tiny rotis for 2 people, and even after asking, just 2 more were served. And to make things even worse, the owner/server watched us eat continuously, eyeing what was on our plates the entire time. It felt awkward and extremely uncomfortable — like we were being monitored the whole time. Nothing was fresh. Nothing was enjoyable. Paying €14 per person for this mess felt like daylight robbery.

Unfortunately, my recent visit to this restaurant was a letdown. The food was not only undercooked but also tasted bad, which was a major disappointment. The buffet options were limited, and I felt like there wasn't enough variety to choose from. What made things worse was the constant monitoring by the staff, which made me feel awkward and uncomfortable. As a paying customer, I expect to be able to enjoy my meal without being watched closely. Given the issues with the food and the uncomfortable atmosphere, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to others. Hopefully, they'll take customer feedback seriously and make necessary improvements.

We were there with a larger group. Everyone enjoyed the food. The service was good, and the ambiance was typical. It was a very hot day, and the restaurant was very hot even without air conditioning, but with ceiling fans.

The food was delicious and the price/performance ratio was good for me. It's a small, cozy restaurant with attentive service. We had the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Chicken Saag, both really delicious 😋 We were a little concerned about being inside in the warm weather, as there's no outdoor area. But with the ceiling fans, it was very pleasant.

We were ejected, even though the entire restaurant was empty. Unfortunately, I'm also certain it was for religious reasons.

I've been visiting this gem of an Indian restaurant since 2008, and it has never once disappointed. The authenticity of the flavors takes me straight to India every single time. The food is great and the portions are very generous. You will get good advice if you don't have much experience with Indian food.

When we visited Criminale, one of the restaurants we visited was the Goa of India. A very nice Indian restaurant, busy with a large menu. Instead of Aperol Spritz, I tried a passion fruit spritz. Very interesting. We definitely had too much rice. We couldn't eat it all. In any case, we were well fed. Thumbs up.

NEVER AGAIN!! STAFF VERY RUDE. MY 4 YEAR OLD SON WAS WATCHED THE WHOLE TIME TO MAKE SURE THAT HE DIDN'T GET ANYTHING TO FOOD. OTHERWISE YOU WOULD HAVE HAD TO PAY 13.90 EURO FOR A SPOON OF RICE.....SIMPLY TO BE SHAMEED.....

The four of us had dinner here some time ago. 6:30 p.m. during the week and we were the only guests in the restaurant. Every now and then someone would come in and pick up an order. The ambience is completely okay and just like you would expect from an Indian restaurant. The choice of food is large and everyone will definitely find something here. The prices are okay. Warming plates are placed on the table relatively quickly and the ordered dishes are served. Unfortunately, the bowls are a bit small and therefore the portions are smaller. On the other hand, you can get as much rice as you want. Of all the things mentioned so far, the saddest thing is that all the dishes simply taste almost identical. We had four different main courses and all the sauces tasted pretty much the same. You get the feeling that a basic sauce is used here, which is then only minimally adjusted. I'm used to much better and more diverse options from other Indian restaurants! To be honest, the naan portions are a joke and quite expensive. What was annoying, however, was that we were asked every two minutes whether everything was okay. In principle, it's good to inquire about the well-being of your customers, but being interrupted by three different employees while eating every two minutes is too much of a good thing. All in all, I wouldn't go here again, there are definitely better options.

Usual ambience. Usual card. Difficult communication with service. Even dishes that are described as “gentle” are surprisingly spicy and therefore taste reduced. It is cleared away immediately after the last bite. Positive: moderate prices.

Hinter schlichter Fassade ein üblich eingerichtetes indisches Restaurant mit üblicher Karte. Freundlicher Service, leider durchweg schwierig in der Kommunikation, weil Sprachkenntnisse fehlen. Unüblich für dieses Genre sind die zivilen Preise. Alle Gerichte waren lecker, jedoch auch die „sanften“ so scharf gewürzt, dass nicht jeder unserer Gruppe damit zurechtkam. Abgedeckt wurde unmittelbar nach dem letzten Bissen, sehr ungemütlich.

Das Essen ist immer sehr lecker und das Restaurant schön eingerichtet. Wenn wir Take Away bestellt haben, war es immer pünktlich fertig.

I can recommend the Chicken Makhani here as well as the Mango Lassi. You should make a reservation here on weekends, as this restaurant is often very busy and you can also order food here, which usually doesn't take longer than 15 minutes. Bestes indisches Restaurant der Gegend. Seit Jahren Stammgast und wir kommen immer wieder gerne oder holen auch oft Essen ab. Die Inhaber sind freundlich und der Mittagstisch ist lecker und preiswert.

We have been regular guests at the Goa of India for years, were there again today and the quality of the food is always consistently top, everything is always delicious, thank you! The spiciness is always exactly as ordered and the portions are very large. We often take something home with us because we can't manage it all (only the main course plus naan, no starter). The service is always friendly and quick, and the atmosphere is cozy and authentic. You always see a lot of Indians in the restaurant, which for us is a sign of the authenticity of the food when many local people choose a restaurant. For us, without question, the best Indian restaurant in the region. Over the years we have tried all the Indian restaurants in Mannheim, Heidelberg and the surrounding area, but none come close to the Goa of India in Schwetzingen. Many thanks to the long-standing, great team! P.S. You can easily park in the parking garage next to the restaurant. We often combine a visit to Goa with a visit to the Schwetzingen Castle Gardens, which is within walking distance of the restaurant.

The lady behaved rudely. It's never a good idea to respond rudely as this could escalate the situation and reflect poorly on you. How about a firm but respectful answer instead? Something like: “I understand the need for a reservation, but there is no excuse for rudeness. A little politeness goes a long way in customer service.”

Very inconspicuous restaurant. Food was delicious, service had a bit of difficulty understanding what you wanted. But somehow it was strenuous but I could do it with my hands and feet. Locally there is a lot of decoration “delivered”. Recommended because of the good quality food. However, I will continue to test myself

A delicious Indian in the middle of Schwetzingen. As a tip for drivers, I recommend the parking lot for free parking. My second tip is my standard: reserve! The food is very tasty and can be chosen in the desired level of spiciness, from mild to Indian spicy🌶️. Take your time choosing, the menu is large. I can recommend the Mulligatawny soup to start with and the evening will be your friend. Vegetarians and vegans will also easily find what they are looking for. Payment possible by card.

Wir waren auf Zwischenstopp in Schwetzingen und haben im Goa sehr gut gegessen. Wohltuend war , dass es kein Buffet gab, was immer eine gewissen Unruhe bringt.

Sehr leckeres Essen und gute Portionen. Wenn bei den Gerichten scharf steht sind sie auch wirklich gut scharf. Ich esse gern schärfer, aber bei mittel ist bei mir Schluss. Ambiente ist Indisch eingerichtet würde ich sagen. Muss einem gefallen, aber auf jeden Fall sauber.

Top Top, das Essen ist mega Lecker. Das Personal ist echt super freundlich. Faire Preise. Wir waren 1x dort und das ist definitiv nicht das letzte Mal.

Wegen der Außenfassade waren wir zuerst skeptisch, aber irgendwann haben wir es gewagt, das Goa of India zu probieren. Ein sehr guter, authentischer Inder. Wir wohnen in der Nähe und sind regelmäßige Gäste. Egal ob im Restaurant oder take-out, es schmeckt immer ausgezeichnet.

Waren zum Mittagsbuffet da. Speisen waren geschmacklich eher fade. So richtig indisch hat das nicht geschmeckt. Auch war nur ein Fleischgericht auf dem Buffet.

Sehr salziges Essen- chicken tikka, papadam, dal soup… it was better last time :-(((

Der gesamte Besuch dauerte diesmal vom Fahren in die Tiefgarage ( gleich nebenan übrigens) bis zum Bezahlen der Parkgebühr nur 59 Minuten (das sparte natürlich das Geld für die angebrochene zweite Stunde). Will heissen, dass die Zubereitung der Gerichte so schnell geht, dass man davon ausgehen kann, dass hier nach dem Baukastensystem gearbeitet wird. Die einzelnen Komponenten sind alle fertig vorbereitet, werden nur noch zusammengestellt und erhitzt. Das ist ja an sich nichts schlechtes. Die asiatischen Restaurants arbeiten ja auch so. Aber was mich doch etwas irritiert hat, war, dass hier auch "indische" Gerichte mit Ente auf der Karte stehen. Total untypisch für indisch, sondern, wie schon erwähnt, eher klassisch asiatisch. Bei Gerichten mit Nüssen ( Cashew oder Mandeln) sollte man wissen, dass diese gemahlen in der Sauce verarbeitet sind. Wer also gewohnt ist diese Zutat haptisch wahrzunehmen und die knackige Konsistenz wünscht, wird hier enttäuscht. Auch Rosinen in der Zutatenliste finden sich im Gericht selbst nur spärlich dosiert und eher verkocht. Ebenfalls irritierte mich die "Dekoration" meiner Hauptspeise mit Fruchtcocktail aus der Dose, incl. Belegkirsche. Wer sich klassische Lamm- oder Tandoorigerichte bestellt, wird was Geschmack und Portionsgrösse betrifft, nicht enttäuscht. Auch die vegetarischen Gerichte, besonders die mit Paneer ( indischer hausgemachter Rahmkäse), überzeugen. Der Service ist freundlich, schnell und aufmerksam. Als der Beilagenreis zur Neige ging, wurde sofort gefragt, ob ein Nachschlag gewünscht wird. Dieser ist gratis. Die Preise sind angemessen. Fazit: Auch ein zweiter Besuch lohnt sich bei Beachtung oben genannter Tipps/Informationen und eigener Vorlieben.

Unser absoluter Lieblingsinder! Essen schmeckt fabelhaft und die Portionen sind auch mehr als ausreichend. Service ist sehr zuvorkommend und aufmerksam, ohne dabei zu aufdringlich zu sein. Nur der Preis für ein Mango Lassie ist etwas hoch, ansonsten ist alles top! Absolut empfehlenswert

Naja was soll ich schreiben , wir waren zum Mittagstisch das Essen war jetzt mal eben was anderes . Der Service war sehr aufmerksam das Ambiente etwas in die Jahre gekommen einfach mal hingehen um was neues zu probieren viel spaß

Wir waren 6 Personen ,es war alles sehr lecker ,wir hatten verschiedene Gerichte von gut gewürzt bis scharf ,für jeden etwas dabei ! Schönes Lokal ,sehr nette Bedienung, danke gerne wieder !

Ich bin im Goa of India fast jede Woche seit bald 2 Jahren. Der Service und das Essen haben nie nachgelassen. Es gibt abends immer Papadum mit hausgemachten Soßen als Gratis-Vorspeise. Die Gastgeber sind immer freundlich. Eines der besten indischen Restaurants, die ich kenne. Einziges kleines Manko im Sommer, dass es keine Außenplätze gibt.

Also vorne weg das Essen war sehr lecker wirklich. Aber Vorspeise sehr enttäuschend angerichtet total liebloses frittierte Teile auf den Teller geschmissen. Und allgemein fühlt sich kaum willkommen Bedienung und servieren total lieblos und ohne den Ansatz das es den Laden freut. Wenn keiner kommt ist auch egal. Werde wohl nicht mehr kommen war mir zu desinteressiert !

Schnelle Bedienung und großartiges Essen für einen schmalen Preis, sehr zu empfehlen. Eignet sich auch, um mit Gruppen um die 10 Personen einzukehren.

Mein Inder des Vertrauens, absolut super autentische indische küche, top Geschmack, top Service, die Leute dort sind freundlich und kümmern sich sehr gut um das Wohlbefinden der Gäste, alle die sagen, dass die Kellner unfreundlich seien, sind anscheinend hypersensibel und vergessen, dass man die deutsche Sprache und den Ausdruck auch erst erlernen muss, wofür man vollstes verständnis haben sollte... Top Restaurant 👍🏼

Sehr gutes Essen und ausreichende Portionen. Es gibt auch indisches Bier und Whisky. Der Service ist gut und freundlich. Die Preise sind für die gebotene Qualität und Menge der Speisen angemessen. Die Speisekarte ist gut bestückt und es sollte für jeden etwas dabei sein. Das Ambiente ist als typisch für ein indisches Restaurant anzusehen, es ist sauber und gepflegt. Parkplätze sind in der Nähe, der neue Messplatz ist nur wenige Gehminuten entfernt.

Tolles indisches Restaurant in dem es mehr das ein Standard essen gibt.

Das Personal, die Location und die Gerichte sind absolut authentisch. Die Gerichte haben eine angenehme Schärfe und einen leckeren "Indische Gewürze"-Geschmack. Die Preise sind für die Gerichte absolut in Ordnung.

I am from India and when i visited the neighbouring city/town of Walldorf for work, a colleague introduced me to Goa of India in 2017. We had a good indian dinner with wonderful beer. They also made us the traditional Indian Chai/Tea later. I've eaten here 3 times and the food has been pretty tasty and decent. They have a buffet and an Ala carte which serves a variety of Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian dishes. Located close to the Castle and the main street it is pretty well accessible. For German or non-Spicy food eaters it is better to let the Waiter/Chef know in advance that they do not like Spicy.

We looked forward to eat again in this restaurant. My lunch was disappointing, my eggplant dish didn’t taste like eggplant and was way too oily. I hope it was just an accident. On the other hand, my wife was very happy with her dal. Samosas were good.

O ambiente é tranquilo, bom para conversar. A comida é muito picante, mas é bem confeccionada. Tem uma variedade muito grande de pratos. O preço, tendo em conta o que se paga nos restaurantes alemães, é razoável. A visitar novamente.

Ich finde das Goa of India wirklich ein tolles indisches Lokal. Das Personal sind allesamt Inder und das Essen kommt an das was wir in Indien kennen gelernt haben doch schon recht nah dran, wenn natürlich trotzdem an die deutschen Gewohnheiten angepasst (das ist aber definitiv nicht von Nachteil!!) Auch der Laden ist authentisch eingerichtet und genauso „liebenswert chaotisch“ wie in Indien selbst. Wir haben dieses Lokal auf jeden Fall für uns entdeckt und werden künftig wohl regelmäßig einkehren.

Von außen hätte ich einen schrecklichen TakeAway Laden erwartet. Es ist aber ein hübsch dekoriertes nicht zu kitschiges Restaurant. Eingedeckt mit Stofftischdecken macht es wirklich einen sehr sympathischen Eindruck. Das Personal ist sehr nett. Unsere Essenauswahl hat uns überzeugt. Es war alles sehr lecker. Nur der Reis kam gefühlt 8 Minuten vorm Essen und war dann etwas kalt. Preise sind sehr günstig. Wenn es für mich nicht so weit wäre, würde ich öfter hin gehen.

Wir waren zu zweit vor einem Konzertbesuch im Schloss essen. Der Service war sehr nett und aufmerksam. Die Auswahl sehr groß. Geschmacklich fehlte etwas die Würze.

Direkt neben „meinem“ Hotel hat mich die Karte gleich angesprochen. Typisch indische Gerichte mit Lamm, Huhn oder Fisch. Papadam vorweg mit drei wirklich köstlichen Saucen. Scharf ist auch wirklich scharf. Service war freundlich und fast einen Hauch zu schnell.

シュヴェツインゲン市内中心部に近いインド料理屋さん。広い有料屋内駐車場がすぐ隣にあるので便利。50人は入れると思われる 店に、土曜日夜に予約もなく4人で訪れたがすんなりと着席できた。チキンマサラ、海老カレー、ナンなどを注文。ドイツ料理や肉料理に飽きたら、食欲を誘うスパイスの香りに満たされるこの店に訪れても良いと思う。
