Beautiful old church, warm atmosphere (you don't have to freeze like in church :D), not too loud (even when it gets crowded) and good food. Dogs and children are very welcome here! My family was very happy with their meal (meat eaters), I was a bit disappointed with my cauliflower "schnitzel" as it was really just fried cauliflower and there was nothing filling about the dish. Not even the three lettuce leaves decoration... The lavender-vanilla lemonade (yes, a strange mixture) was my personal highlight. The service wasn't quite as attentive, but very friendly. However, the price is a bit too high based on our dining experience. Conclusion: It's worth an experience, but for us it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Unfortunately we had a very disappointing evening at GlückundSeligigkeit. The location is really impressive. The food was also delicious, although it wasn't brought to us at the same time, but with a few minutes delay. Unfortunately my food wasn't particularly warm to begin with, so I was able to eat my beef fillet cold. This wasn't an isolated case either. Because over the course of the evening we were able to observe how all the dishes were served individually and with an unreasonable waiting time. In addition, employees repeatedly ran from table to table with drinks and didn't know where they belonged. After an employee dropped a cup, there was no immediate response. Instead, the mess lay on the floor for several minutes. Another employee took a big step over it and rolled her eyes. But then he just walked away. After another 5 minutes, the person responsible wiped everything up with napkins. Unfortunately, she made no move to properly wipe it away, preferring to do her other work. After we expressed our criticism, we were told that it was due to a lack of staff. Unfortunately, we didn't entirely share the impression because some of the existing employees didn't seem particularly committed. When we asked for the bill we were told that a dessert was being prepared for us as an apology. After another 10 minutes we got a dessert for two. Unfortunately, the sorbet was still so frozen that we couldn't even scratch it, let alone eat it. Conclusion: The price-performance ratio is not acceptable in this restaurant.

Great “restaurant” that has an unusual ambience and breathes new life into this old, venerable church without degrading it.

Seldom eaten so badly.Wild boar ravioli didn't taste like game, and the cranberries were spread on the bottom of the plate under the meat, so every bite was sweet. The ravioli had no taste. A fellow guest's cucumber salad was too salty. The ambience and service cannot make up for the disappointment.

The building's interior is no longer really recognizable as a former church, but the decor is still very nice. The expensive food is unfortunately, as is often the case, served in small portions. The sauces are super-seasoned. The sorbets were served frozen and could only be consumed after at least five minutes. The young staff is very professional. The restrooms are modern.

The atmosphere of happiness and bliss is impressive and the location is truly unique. Unfortunately the food wasn't convincing this time. I had the poke sushi bowl with tuna, but the tuna pieces were cut way too big and declared as sashimi, which didn't really fit. Unfortunately, the sushi rice was far too grainy and hard, which spoiled the enjoyment. In addition, the mango in the bowl was unripe and the edamame was not cooked properly. Overall the dish was disappointing but the service was friendly. Maybe I was just unlucky that day, but for the price of around €35 ​​I would have expected more.

Ambience and service excellent. The food was OK, but we expected better for the high prices. The taste was a bit bland, simply arranged on the plates, you could have gotten more out of it with a little decoration, herbs and spices. We ate at Glückundseligkeit for the first time today and were not disappointed. For my partner's birthday I reserved a table, put together a 3-course menu and paid for it in advance. Everything went smoothly. The service was great, the food was simply fantastic and the location was very special. So an absolute recommendation! We'd love to come back :)

Very good, everything tasty and beautiful

Yesterday we were in the GS for the first time, what can you say. It was perfect. Tuna Tataki as a starter perfectly prepared and presented on the plate. Pizza bread with dip super delicious, the herbs incorporated into the dough and so much that you can't manage it. Main course BBQ salmon, I had the feeling that the salmon was melting on the palate, the vegetables were nothing over the top but perfect in terms of cooking and taste. New Zealand beef fillet. At first I thought why does it have to be New Zealand, after the first bite it was clear why. Dessert sorbet variations perfectly presented. Chocolate cake with a liquid center. The menu indicates that preparation takes 15 minutes. The result was worth every minute of waiting. In conclusion, a perfect culinary evening in the former church. A straight 12 out of 10 and we'll be back...

Unfortunately the food didn't match the price. We waited 2.5 hours for the main course and then it was unacceptable.

Long wait for drinks and food. We ordered a piece of meat for 50 euros that was absolutely inedible and when we brought this up we were told that it was a natural product and that this could not be predicted. (That same evening I had to vomit due to severe stomach pain from the incredibly fatty meat). You will then receive a dessert for free...

Unfortunately the service was slow. The waiting times for drinks and food were also long. Nevertheless, the staff was friendly and helpful. Visually the food makes an appealing impression, but the taste was only sufficient. I would have expected more here. The ambience of the restaurant is nice and inviting, but that alone is not enough. The wine was consistently delicious and one of the highlights of the evening. I found it a shame that during the visit there was no inquiry as to whether everything was OK or whether the food tasted good. This would have been a good opportunity to help the guest and possibly improve the experience. Overall, it can be said that there is room for improvement, especially in the speed of service and the gastronomic quality.

There were 13 people in the restaurant today, considering that this restaurant is priced at a high price, I was very disappointed with the service, it was very busy, no question. I work in the service sector myself, it depends on friendliness. When the food came the lady screamed, HELLOOO MAKE SPACE ON THE TABLE!!! When we asked the lady for ketchup and mayonnaise, after 10 minutes she still wasn't in sight, we asked the other waiter FRIENDLY again if we could still get ketchup and mayonnaise, he said; Not everything is at the table yet, we were served for the first time. We had specifically announced that we would bring a cake because it was a birthday, and then we paid “plate money” for it, and then we were asked if we wanted dessert, we then said no, then asked nicely if we could get the plates for the cake, and the waiter replied rudely, uh, yes, right away… that was what we had agreed on, wasn’t it?! We thought, for the money, we would like to eat somewhere else again. Great atmosphere, but unfortunately nothing more. Been there for 3 hours, waited 1.5 hours for the starter, another 30 minutes for the main course. Service was virtually non-existent. Far too few staff for far too many people. We were ignored, even though the waiters walked past us in droves. 240€ for 4 people. Shame for what you get. Very unfortunate.

I don't actually write reviews but that was the worst restaurant visit I've ever experienced - sorry. We had the table at 7 p.m., chose food and drinks promptly at around 7:30 p.m.... the starter came at 9:30 p.m. and the main course only at 10:30 p.m.!!! the shop is now half empty, some of the staff are friendly, some are not . The food was quite good but not worth the wait.

The service was a disaster, the waitresses were unfriendly and not competent. We eat out 3-4 times a week and haven't experienced such bad service in a long time. We waited: 3.5 hours for our food, food was ok but everything around it was a 0/10 :) all around: a disaster and the biggest snot! Thanks for nothing. It's a real shame because we thought we'd go out for a nice meal and try something new again. Thank you, and see you never again!

Unfortunately nothing has changed since our first visit. By the way, we were assured there that the evening was unusually chaotic and that the service was understaffed... 3 months later, still a disaster... We barely managed to get 2 drinks served in 3 hours of stay. And then not even the right ones. A bottle of wine was ordered with the main course, but it never arrived... Craft beer was ordered, draft Pilsner was given... all the employees were superficially friendly, but behind the facade they were visibly annoyed and obviously completely overwhelmed. That's a shame because the food is really great. Likewise the ambience. But unfortunately I can't say that the service is so subpar that another visit is not worth it. Too bad.

When we were there for the first time a year ago, the food was very tasty. That's why we thought that the price was high but it was okay for such a meal. But the more we went there, the food somehow got worse and worse. The pizza is a complete disaster! Dr. Oetker pizza is even hotter. The chicken tikka masala dish was a disgrace. There's just hardly any chicken in it!!!! Only carrots 🤣 and bad taste/little spice! 10 times hotter in the loom. The price is way too high! Completely overpriced and not worth it! That's bullshit! So you pay for the ambience.

Summary: - Table reserved for 2 people at 7:30 p.m. Online, worked well. - When we arrived we had to wait 5 minutes, no one in sight to show us to the table. - Then we were told that everything downstairs was full and we should go up. "Go up, you'll see the table" - arrived upstairs, table not set. This made me very uncomfortable with my companions. - Waited 1.45 hours (!!!) for the main course. - Drinks ordered twice, forgotten twice - Ordered an invoice, we also had to give a friendly reminder. We were there yesterday for the staff dinner, so around 20 people. The food itself was absolutely delicious, I ordered the veal cheeks and there was really nothing to complain about. I found the price for my meal to be okay at €36, but there are a lot of dishes on the menu where you can clearly tell that you're paying primarily for the location. A pizza for, for example, €18 is very excessive. I know we are all affected by inflation, but due to the pricing policy in G&S there is a star deduction. The service was top! Despite the fact that the restaurant was completely booked, we received both food and drinks promptly. Unfortunately, the employees themselves had to rush around a lot, but they didn't let it get them down and were always friendly and courteous. There's no need to talk about the ambience at G&S, the converted church is unrivaled as a location. However, there is also a point deducted here for the acoustics, as it can be very loud at times. All in all, a successful evening, but due to the local prices, it's more for special occasions.

Down-to-earth main courses. The doneness of the beef fillet was as requested, medium-rare, rather rare💪🏻👍🏻. Quiet tables at the edge, a little louder in the hall, the hall... Overall, good cuisine, but not upscale as postulated. The service doesn't fit in the setting, but the starters are recommended. It's worth a visit, but nothing more.

Wir waren zum 18 Geburtstag dort. Was wir auch beider Reservierung angegeben hatten, noch nicht mal ein herzlichen Glückwunsch gab es vom Service. Ein besonderer Geburtstag sollte in einem besonderen Restaurant gefeiert werden. Doch leider sind wir sehr enttäuscht. Das Restaurant war nicht stark besucht und trotzdem dauerte es eine ganze Weile bis der Service kam. Das Essen war top , aber der Service war ein Flop. Lange kein Service, dann wurde nur der halbe Tisch abgeräumt und es dauerte wieder eine ganze Weile. Sorry aber das geht hundert mal besser. Essen können wir empfehlen , aber den Service leider nicht.

Das Essen war hervorragend! Eine sehr große Auswahl verschiedener Gerichte und Präsentation und Geschmack waren sehr gut. Der größte Kritikpunkt ist der Service. Als wir ins Restaurant kamen, war niemand in der Begrüßungsstation . Andere Gäste vor uns warteten auch schon. Nach etwa 5-6 Minuten kam jemand und hat uns zu unserem Platz gebracht. Nach der Hauptspeise konnte man so viel winken, wie man wollte, keine Servicekraft ließ sich blicken. Wir sind dann aufgestanden und haben an der Theke nach der Bedienung gefragt. Gleiche Spiel nach dem Dessert. Wir haben um die Rechnung gebeten und mussten über 20 Minuten darauf warten. Das geht nicht in solch einem gehobenen, Restaurant.

We had something to eat at the location as a group. The ambience is really nice but the food didn't taste good at all. The only thing that was even remotely good was the schnitzel. The price-performance ratio for the food is not right at all. We also had to wait over an hour. Unfortunately I can't recommend the restaurant.

I was here for a Christmas party with my work colleagues. A breathtaking atmosphere in an old, impressive church is offered here. The rump steak was really good and I can particularly recommend the lava cake and the different types of iced tea! In terms of price, the restaurant is more of an upscale class. Unfortunately, I have to complain about the very long waiting times of almost 2 hours for the food and the long waiting times before you are even served. Even the waiting time of almost 30 minutes for drinks is not okay, despite the house being full. You feel a bit cramped because the tables and chairs are too close together. I also found the temperature in the restaurant to be too high. Despite the negative points, the meal was a lovely experience and that's why the place deserves its four stars.

The atmosphere of the de-dedicated church alone is extraordinary. But when you add excellently prepared food and friendly, very attentive service, you get a completely successful evening. We were there with six people. There were tomahawk steaks, salmon steak and tuna steak. The side dishes were also of very good product quality; matching delicate sauces were served separately in small bowls. A highlight was the serving of the tomahawk steaks. They came out of the kitchen just fried very briefly. They were removed from the bone at the table and cut into fine slices. We were able to continue cooking the meat to taste on large hot stone slabs. The delicious desserts rounded off the meal perfectly. Deserved five stars and clear recommendation.

Wir haben heute wirklich gut gegessen! Ein dickes Lob an die Küche! Der Service war jedoch unterste Kategorie. Getränkenachschub erst nach mehrmaligem „Winken“ … Sehr lange Wartezeit … halber Tisch abgeräumt nach dem Essen… dann war niemand mehr zu sehen vom Service Personal… und man muss dazu sagen, es waren nicht alle Tische belegt!! Aber es wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass man gerade in der Planung sei für den nächsten Tag und die Bestuhlung durchsprechen musste… ist ne Entschuldigung :-) Aber sowas geht gar nicht in einem Restaurant dieser Preisklasse!!!

A big WOW when you enter the restaurant - a former church has been converted into a great location, atmospheric light, beautiful lamps, upscale furnishings in terms of tables and chairs, elegant place settings... There is probably something for everyone on the menu, fresh and... delicious... we were there with 12 people, everything was excellent,👌 The staff is friendly, polite and always has an ear for a special request, The prices are appropriate for the fine cuisine but are completely justified due to the fresh and high-quality ingredients (3-course menu for about 60 euros)...My highlight: the dessert fruit sorbet with 5 varieties - it was really happiness and bliss to eat that😋 The only criticism I have: I spent about 15 minutes looking for a parking space nearby due to the tense parking situation on a Saturday evening.

Probably good food - we couldn't figure it out! After it took 15 minutes from entering the restaurant to being seated at our reserved (!) table, we were completely ignored for another 30 minutes after the aperitif was listlessly served. Even a subtle “Hello” and wave to the service staff was skilfully ignored. Instead, other tables were set and guests who arrived after us were served. It wasn't due to the number of staff, as around six different waitresses and waiters walked past our table several times. We put an end to this disdain and completely unacceptable “quality of service” as well as the resulting waiting time for our food by leaving the restaurant after 50 minutes - without being noticed by the staff - (putting the amount for an aperitif on the table) and spontaneously eating somewhere else . With excellent service to boot. Happiness and bliss? Neither of those things, just a total disappointment. I can't say anything about the food as we couldn't place an order. Probably quite well. But the mood was gone, thanks to the no less important component of appreciation for us as guests. I have never experienced such subterranean service. A real 6 minus! Never again! Thanks for nothing!

We made a reservation for 8 people, got a table for 6 and was only set for 5. Unfortunately, the service was very poor and the waitresses were rarely seen. Laughter and joy don't seem to be welcome in this house. The mood then turned to rudeness on the part of the staff. Unsuitable for small, happy groups, more suitable for people who are worried about their lives... then the overall concept becomes coherent. It's a shame, the atmosphere is nice and the food was tasty too. What is missing is a blessing of happiness and bliss..

Super nice service with great food

Very bad service. We had to get the menus ourselves and it took a long time for drinks to be brought to us. So it wasn't surprising that the meal took even longer. One person forgot their side dish, another got their food five minutes after the rest of us. But at least it tasted good. Incidentally, we were only able to order the second round of drinks when the table was cleared after the meal; no employee showed up beforehand. There was time to tell us we were being too loud (we just laughed) but not to ask for orders. The service went one better: Before Christmas, a different clientele would come to eat than usual. With that the last thought about tipping disappeared, we left quite quickly and since we are not part of the usual clientele, no one will see us there again. The ambience is great, the prices are quite high, but the service doesn't deserve the name.

The restaurant is an institution in the city. The atmosphere in the church is magnificent. Unfortunately I have to deduct a point from the otherwise excellent food because my starter was barely warm. There was also a deduction in the service: the drinks we ordered didn't come or only came when asked. Too bad!

We were in the store again with the birthday party. The food is catastrophic. With 13 people we left €1150 and once again confirmation that the food was simply not edible. The service was attentive and friendly. The food wasn't good, the starter was catastrophic, had "vegetable tempura sticks" that were dried out, tasteless and served with sprouts. For my main course I had "Chicken Tikka Masala", which was far, very far from the "scents of Asia". No idea what that was supposed to be. It was an incredibly beautiful evening! An experience from the inside😍We were lucky enough to be able to sit upstairs in the restaurant. The view from above is a dream and so calm. There's a lot more going on downstairs and a lot more atmosphere. The menu is great and something special. Great meat dishes and also pizzas. A little more expensive but the food is great and the ambience and service are simply great. I definitely have to go there again😍

Hmm - you should “actually” give it 5 stars, but… the restaurant is described as “fine cuisine”. So the rating has to be right in this regard. Service was very friendly, great. But not very attentive (maybe too few staff for the size). Therefore only 4 stars. The food was great, the ribs deserved 5 stars (see photo), the starter (tuna) visually deserved 5 stars, but the taste explosion was missing (of course this is purely subjective). Ambience - yes, that's something very special! So: overall I give it 5 stars with slight deductions in the B grade 🤪

One star is definitely too many here. Don't the higher-ups even notice what people in Bielefeld are already saying about happiness and bliss? Do people honestly look the other way? Employees there are dissatisfied and are treated badly/unfairly. Sometimes even insulted by their shift managers and bosses. Short and sweet. The store is too trusting in the ambience which is really a dream. But that doesn't mean you have to wait 50 minutes for a shrimp pan and tuna steak. The food is really good, but is probably completely overpriced due to the ambience and the “great” staff and system behind it. On Friday the store closes at 12:00 a.m., according to Google. Why do you have to demonstratively clear the chairs and tables back and forth at 10:45 p.m. in order to indirectly tell us in a nice way that the leash is slowly being pulled. When I asked at 10:45 p.m. whether I could get an espresso, I was answered with “machines are off,” although the service employee still made coffee for herself. I come from the catering industry myself and know how people feel shortly before work and want to go home as quickly as possible. Shortly before the end of the day doesn't mean putting up the neighboring tables 75 minutes beforehand and justifying this by "cleaning up." It's embarrassing that a shop with such an amazing ambience and good food is so blatantly undermining itself. The operator himself and also the staff should be aware that the customer is the source of why the store has existed for years. Once and never again.

What you hear here in Bielefeld about happiness and bliss is really frightening. More and more people are quitting there. We also ate there two days ago to see for ourselves and you can tell that the staff ratio there is no longer what it was 2-3 years ago. You could literally feel it. The ambience is great. The food was a bit poor and the service wasn't convincing either. Even when it was addressed, it didn't get any better. Salmon wasn't cooked through, pizza was past the oven. You were much more convincing in the past.
