Delicious food! Unfortunately, Gitti will only be there until the end of this year!

No one catches fresh fish in Greifenstein; Fritz won't find any fish on his plate here! But the food is skillfully prepared, plentiful, and tasty. I would have grated a little Carniolan horseradish myself for a fresh touch; we love it! The service is unobtrusive and attentive. And the little details of the decor caught my eye: the smooth tabletops; the bright, welcoming, yet functional furniture suitable for both children and adults; the combinations of sofas and wooden chairs; the curved wooden bar; and a mysterious emergency exit: In an emergency, do you really have to go through the large window into the courtyard? My wife wanted to book for her birthday; but they're only open from 4:00 PM on Saturdays? Well, that can be sorted out. But a tip: Check beforehand, make a reservation if necessary, or plan a walk around the area.

Everything here is perfect – quality, service, timing! The most delicious food in the area. 6/5 stars!

Rump steak, schnitzel, tenderloin—all delicious. And the Kaiserschmarrn is a dream. Very attentive and friendly staff. It's a shame this restaurant is closing on December 27, 2025.

We came with 20 people, and it felt like a day when the weather was nice, so the restaurant was very busy. I have to say, we were completely satisfied. The service was prompt, the food arrived promptly, and it was very good. The side salad tasted absolutely delicious, and I don't normally need anything like that. I also have to admit that the seniors' plate was plenty for me. I could barely even finish it. The service was also very friendly; it was an all-round successful evening. Keep it up! You've definitely won me over as a customer.

Been there several times, always 👍 German cuisine with Austrian specialties, tastes very good, fresh ingredients, everything clean, a great place to eat! Reservations recommended! Too bad they don't serve fish! The salad was too expensive for me, but the taste was good!

We went to lunch with the family. Compared to previous visits, some family members weren't entirely satisfied with the food.

We were invited to a wedding and had an onion schnitzel with fries and a champignons schnitzel with spaetzle. They were huge portions and super delicious 👍

We were hiking and stopped at the beer garden. Everything was perfect, especially the service and the food. We had a variety of schnitzels, which were delicious. The cream sauce with mushrooms was another highlight from my childhood; very good. We'll be back.

Very friendly staff, incredibly delicious food. The side salad was fantastic: cucumbers, steamed carrots, crisp leaf salad, and even potato salad were all dressed with a delicious dressing. The schnitzels (2 per portion) were wafer-thin with a spicy breading, the mushroom cream sauce was incredibly delicious, and the "Swiss-style schnitzel" was topped with excellent ingredients. The fries and croquettes were also cooked to perfection. Everything was super fresh and served hot. Highly recommended! The ambiance is a bit disappointing; it could be a bit more cozy. The dining room is also very noisy, so you could easily hear some of the conversations at neighboring tables (whether you wanted to or not). We'd be happy to come back here.

We thoroughly enjoyed the freshly prepared food. The service was very friendly, and the prices were reasonable. My wife and I felt very comfortable and will definitely be back.

I was at Gitti's Berggasthof in Greifenstein today, and it was really good! The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Cozy atmosphere and a kitchen that knows what it's doing. You feel very comfortable here. It was definitely not my first time here, and certainly not my last.

The food there is always delicious. The standard order is the Bergsteigerschnitzel, followed by the delicious apricot dumplings. The waitresses are always friendly and attentive.

I was very satisfied with my visit to Gitti's Berggasthof. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. The value for money was definitely right! The service was also excellent. We were repeatedly asked about our satisfaction and received very attentive service throughout the evening. We were able to sit outside that evening and had a good table. Unfortunately, the great view was spoiled by a kind of barrier from the road. All in all, a lovely visit and an absolute recommendation!

The great food really makes you feel like you're in the Alps. The portions are definitely filling and the service was extremely friendly. A visit there is definitely worth it.

Super delicious food and nice staff. I had a schnitzel and all I can say is that it definitely fills you up. Two breaded schnitzels, with fries and a side salad. I had been struggling at the end. But the taste was also very, very good. I can only recommend it!

The inn is not cheap, but worth the price. The service is solid. A little old-fashioned inside, but everything is very neat. Attention: There is almost no mobile phone reception and there is no WiFi either.

We spontaneously came to this great mountain inn for dinner with very nice and friendly service. The food for the “mostly impatient” children came early - and there was also a small bag of gummy bears. Our food was also just great!!! In my opinion, the Kaiserschmarrn is particularly recommended.

Top gastronomy, the homemade dumpling trio (cheese dumplings, bacon dumplings and spinach dumplings) with mountain cheese and brown butter is a revelation not only for vegetarians. The Bergsteiger Schnitzel is also exceptional.

Flawless. Always my pleasure. Went there with a group of 30 people and everyone ordered from the cat and the food came together and was hot and damn tasty. Highly recommended. We'll be back.

My visit was on September 3rd, 2024 in the evening. The restaurant was well attended during the week. A reservation is therefore recommended. The outside and inside areas are inviting and very well maintained. The waitresses are friendly, competent and not intrusive. My wife had a Styrian chicken schnitzel with pumpkin seed breading and pumpkin seed oil. The filling side dish was a potato salad. Both very tasty. I had ordered a Bergpfandl. Unfortunately, the side salad didn't make it to the photo. The fillet with mountain cheese gratin, mushrooms and spaetzle were freshly and honestly prepared. Thanks to the chef for delicious Alpine cuisine. The other guests' dishes also looked delicious. Highly recommended for a culinary short break in the Alps.

Nach dem Wandern sind wir bei Gitti eingekehrt und waren sehr angetan von den angebotenen Speisen. Sehr feine österreichische Küche. Ob Steaks, Schnitzelgerichte oder Specials - alle unserer Gruppe waren zufrieden. Der Gastraum ist so groß, dass man sicher auch hier und da einen Hund unterbringen könnte. Fällt garnicht auf!

Four of us went there for dinner this evening (July 20, 2024). Convincing quality, you'll be full too 😀. Friendly staff. The admittedly not very inexpensive grappa made from Gewürztraminer grapes was great. Keep it up!

A work colleague, my wife, recommended the mountain inn. The recommendation is also one. We were there today and were able to convince ourselves of the very good food. The schnitzels are great, as are the fried potatoes. The Kaiserschmarrn is awesome, just great, with applesauce. Unfortunately I don't have a photo of it. The apricot liqueur is also very tasty. An absolute recommendation 👍

Food was very good, unfortunately seating was a bit quick The service is not competent. The pepper shaker wasn't closed properly and half the contents ended up on the salad, I told the waitress; their response to this "we check these every day" no apology, nothing like that; it is presented as if it had been unscrewed on purpose. I find that to be very unfriendly and not customer-oriented. Maybe she's not the right waitress for a restaurant.

After we were at Herborn Zoo, we wanted to go out for something to eat. Sit outside as nicely as possible. Google then suggested this restaurant to me. There were seven of us there: 4 adults and 3 children. What can I say, the food was simply fantastic. I haven't eaten something this delicious in a long time! Beautiful terrace with meadow and apple tree. We were there on a Sunday and they have their own Sunday menu with great dishes. Very good mix! The schnitzels are freshly breaded, great fries and the chicken nuggets are homemade and totally delicious! The salads are also very tasty. The cheese spaetzle is a poem! Our son has never eaten so many spaetzle with mushroom cream sauce. He even wanted a second helping. The dessert is also absolutely praiseworthy. The espresso too. Large portions, everything freshly homemade. The operation and service was really nice and helpful. Rarely seen such well-kept and clean toilets in a restaurant. We can only praise everything and were totally thrilled. We'll be back!

Geburtstag mit der Familie, schönen Abend verbracht, Bedienung freundlich nett nicht aufdringlich. Das Essen war lecker und reichlich, nur das Gericht ,Blut und Leberwurst wäre ja auch gut gewesen wenn die Wurst auch in einer gewissen Menge dabei gewesen wäre, denn für 18,-€ Sauerkraut und Bratkartoffeln das geht einfach nicht. Bitte das nächste Mal Wurst nicht vergessen, Danke

It's a little more expensive here, but the food is really tasty. The service is always friendly. I always had a clean and cozy impression! And we were welcome even just for a drink.

Unfortunately I could only choose 3 meals because otherwise I would have burst. Everything was absolutely delicious and the service was very nice and helpful. We spent a very nice time there in a pleasant atmosphere. My new great love is now apricot dumplings. I will now try to attract more friends to this restaurant. I have to try the menu. Staff very attentive, friendly and relaxed. We were there with 6 women, everyone was happy with the food. My rump steak medium was perfect, wedges really crispy, delicious side salad, just perfect. We'll definitely be back.

Very, very nice and courteous staff!! We were there with a wheelchair and were treated so kindly. The food was great - decent portions. For other people with walking difficulties - the entrance is at ground level, spacious disabled toilet, lots of space!

Sehr gutes und v.a. reichhaltiges Essen. Sehr freundlicher Service. Als Frau reicht die Seniorenportion völlig aus. Im großen Raum ist es sehr laut, wenn alle Tische besetzt sind aber das ist jammern auf hohem Niveau.

Beilagensalat sehr gut. Sehr hohe Preise. Wiener Schnitzel für 21 Euro. Käsespätzle versalzen. Ambiente naja. Neben uns eine Gruppe Jäger die am gröhlen und brüllen war. Normale Kommunikation am Tisch war nicht mehr möglich. Bedienung unfreundlich und ungelernt. Wir kommen nicht mehr wieder!

Früher war Gittis ein gutes Restaurant. Heute war ich negativ überrascht. Sehr laut durch eine feiernde Männergruppe, so das wir keine normale Unterhaltung am Tisch mehr führen konnten. Der Service ließ sehr zu wünschen übrig. Die Freundlichkeit war erst da, als es ums Trinkgeld ging. Die Kässpätzle völlig versalzen, die Röstizwiebeln fehlten. Ambiente eher ungemütlich. Das Bier abgestanden.

Wir sind nach eine Wanderung Sonntagnachmittags eingekehrt und haben nicht nur das weihnachtlich geschmückte Restaurant sehr genossen, sondern auch einen hervorragenden Service und ein phantastisches Essen. Die hausgemachten Kasnocken-Tris (anstatt des Speckknödels hatte ich 2x Spinatknödel) waren der absolute Genuss und selbst der kleine Beilagensalat mit einer sensationellen Salatsoße war super lecker. Mein Mann hatte das Wiener Schnitzel und war auch sehr glücklich mit seiner Wahl. Wir freuen uns auf ein nächstes Mal und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder ☆

Die JuPa Mittelhessen (Jung und Parkinson in der dPV) ist regelmäßiger Gast in Greifenstein. Das hat seinen Grund! Immer freundliche und nette Mitarbeiter/-innen, flexibel beim Tische rücken :-), größte Mühe bei der Terminsuche und das wichtigste zum Schluss: Schmecken tut's auch noch. Wir kommen gerne wieder und empfehlen Sie weiter.

Wenn man die Hütte mit Dill Ausblick kennt wird man hier sehr enttäuscht sein. Hier findet man eher einen Kneipen Charakter wieder. Sehr schade. Warum diese Veränderung statt fand kann ich sllerdings nicht sagen. Aber sehr positiv ist der super Service und das leckere Essen. 😋

Leckeres Essen mit ordentlichen Portionen!

Spontan eingekehrt, sehr netter und aufmerksamer Service. Schnelle Bedingungen, Tagesgerichte empfohlen, Auswahl war gut. Essen kam zügig, großzügige Portionen und war frisch zubereitet. Die Suppe war fantastisch, der Salat sehr gut und unsere Schnitzel mit die besten die wir je gegessen haben! Salz war auf den Punkt! Würzung absolut harmonisch! Hier versteht man sein Handwerk…Sehr, sehr lecker! Vielen Dank! Wir werden weiterempfehlen und wieder kommen!

Wir waren heute ganz spontan dort zum Essen und es war super lecker. Kleine überschaubare Speisekarte, freundliches Ambiente und Bedienungen.... Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen und auch weiter empfehlen

Bevor wir am heutigen Sonntag die "Kleine Wällertour" ab Beilstein gewandert sind, machten wir hier zur Mittagszeit Station. Wieder einmal zeigt sich: eine kleine, überschaubare Karte bereits oft Garantie für ein leckeres Essen. So auch hier. Die Schnitzel absolut lecker und zart, köstliche Käsespätzle. Dazu eine gute Getränkeauswahl (Almdudler), schnelle und sehr liebenswürdige Bedienung: es hat alles gepasst 👍😌

Leider hat man keine Aussicht auf die schöne Landschaft vom Biergarten aus. Dafür entschädigt die nette, freundliche Mitarbeiterin

Das Essen schmeckt hier sehr gut und die Portionen sind ordentlich. Allerdings ist der Service sehr miserabel und die Küche komplett überfordert. Es dauert Ewigkeit bis man Getränken bestellen kann und das bestelltes Essen wird erst auf erneute Nachfrage serviert. Die Reihenfolge wie die Kunden bedient werden scheint sehr willkürlich zu sein. Die die später kommen bekommen ihr Essen zuerst 😒 das ist sehr schade. Wir werden hier leider nicht mehr Speisen.

Preis - Leistung stimmt hier! Man bekommt richtig gute Portionen für sein Geld. Steak war auf den Punkt, Beilagen auch prima. Kann man gerne empfehlen.
