Ginza Japanese Kitchen in Hamburg

So far we haven‘t had better Ramen in Hamburg. The sushi is phenomenal! Very fresh and delicious.

Very tasty food, good cocktails, it's super small inside but you can also sit outside.

The food was mediocre at exorbitant prices, and unfortunately, the service also left much to be desired. Wait times stretched to hours...

We were there in the evening with about 15 people and waited over an hour for our food. The sushi was far too small for the price and comparatively very expensive. Some of the appetizers were completely forgotten. The taste was also rather subpar.

Tonkotsu was really good, not salty which is a big problem I usually have with other ramens. The spinach in it was bitter though

A small and authentic restaurant serving Japanese cuisine, located on the lower ground floor, with a few additional tables across the street. A bit cramped inside, but extremely cozy. A well-organized and friendly team, with very quick food preparation. High-quality service. We had sushi, which was excellently prepared and very tasty. If you like whiskey, they serve Japanese Hibiki, very mild and highly recommended, as is a visit to this restaurant overall.

My first Chinese review of a burger. If you've been to Japan, you'll probably know this isn't authentic the moment you walk in. The staff clearly lacks Japanese flair (no makeup, no "Irashyaima"). They're also direct and loud when they speak. The chicken was okay, but it was fried a bit too long, so it was overcooked and a bit burnt. The tonkotsu ramen broth was too watery, and the square noodles didn't feel like real ramen. They even added something resembling spinach (I've never seen that in Japan). The soft-boiled egg wasn't sweet enough, leaving a somewhat complex experience. I speak a little Vietnamese, so I'm 99% sure the staff was speaking Vietnamese. I don't know why this place has such high reviews (you can search "Japan" to see another Japanese review; it's quite amusing, haha). All in all, I wouldn't recommend it unless you're here for the atmosphere (though the music isn't even in Japanese). Also, the fact they don't accept credit cards is a bit of a hassle.

Nice food and nice service, nothing special. They are not giving you a reason to go back. Only cache which is not tourists friendly.

We were very pleasantly surprised. Ginza is an insider tip in Hamburg. The food was incredibly good, and the atmosphere was very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed it so much that we went there three times. When we're back in Hamburg, Ginza will be our first stop. By the way...I've never had better kimchi. We'd love to come back!

I went to this Japanese restaurant for lunch today, and it was simply lovely. I received a friendly greeting as soon as I walked in, and the service was super attentive and warm the whole time. You feel immediately welcome. The ambiance fits perfectly with the image of a Japanese restaurant without seeming kitschy. Everything feels harmonious and very pleasant, so you want to take your time and enjoy it. The absolute highlight was the ramen. So incredibly delicious, full of flavor, and seasoned just right. I would have loved to have a second helping right away. A definite recommendation for me. I'll definitely be back.

Wow—that was my first impression, and it was completely confirmed. The food was simply perfect. Everything was fresh, super tasty, and really well-made—I haven't had better food in Hamburg yet. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed, you could really unwind. And the staff? Extremely friendly and attentive, without being intrusive.

This is the second time we came to this restaurant and it was again absolutely delicious! During our first visit, we had tried their bowls and this time it was sushi with kim chi salad. Everything we had was great and especially kim chi was the best we have ever had. Definitely recommended!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 9.1/10 Strong Tonkotsu Ramen with Potential for Perfection The Tonkotsu Ramen at Ginza Ramen was truly delicious. The broth was beautifully creamy, full of flavor, and just the right amount of salt – intense yet balanced. The noodles had the perfect bite, the chashu was tender and aromatic, and the egg was cooked to perfection. My only small wish: A little more garlic would have given the broth a final kick – that would have taken it from "very good" to "absolutely unforgettable." Nevertheless: A true must-try for Tonkotsu fans. Absolutely deserved a 9.1!

Suuuuuper delicious ramen even better than in the Netherlands

One waiter wasn't friendly. When we entered the cellar, he told us we weren't allowed to wander around and that we should just stay at the door and wait for his instructions. There was an error with our orders. He missed one person's meal. As soon as a friend had a sip of mineral water, the waiter came over to tell us we weren't allowed to drink anything that hadn't been ordered in the restaurant.

If you like modern tendy sushi, then you are good here. It used to have more traditional sushi with more traditional rice.

Food was nice, nothing special. We ordered two tonkotsu ramen, and the broth had a strange sweetness to it, and it wasn’t as savoury as I would’ve liked. We also had karaage chicken (Japanese fried chicken) as a starter- this was nice, but came before our beers did! It probably took about 10 mins for our beers to come- pretty nuts that the fried chicken came before.

I've been to Ginza a few times and I'm always impressed. The service is always friendly and very attentive. I think it's the best sushi in Hamburg, and the bowl and chahan are so delicious! I also have to mention the fish – the salmon in the sushi is as soft as butter, and the bowl is cooked to perfection every time. The food is very attractively presented. I also like the atmosphere; at least when we were there, it was always a pleasant noise level. One of my favorite places in Hamburg!

Small hidden gem that has very welcoming staff and the sushi was a great tasting experience. Highly recommend the shared bento experience with misu soup upfront. Well portioned for two persons and the quality of the tuna and salmon - perfect! Good job!

The service was great. However, the food was not as good as I've read in the reviews. While I'm not a picky eater, the crunchy rolls I've ordered were falling apart. The servings of wasabi and ginger are VERY small. The veggie soup was rather bland, I was missing a flavourful broth and freshness. Overall, okay just for dropping by and grabbing a bite.

Truly the best sushi I've eaten so far. And I have been to many sushi shops in Germany and abroad. The service was outstanding! I'll definitely make a detour on my next visit to Hamburg!

We got a seat spontaneously and the service was very good and quick. The Tonkutsu Ramen tasted good. What surprised us, however, was that in order to have an egg in the ramen, you had to order the full topping. The full topping also included spinach and that could have been saved. We would still recommend Ginza.

Excellent quality food. The place is small but still welcoming and above all "quiet" for being in the center of Hamburg, I was impressed. The icing on the cake is the attentive and helpful staff. I recommend it.

Very expensive for the fact that the sushi unfortunately tastes like nothing. Fish was watery and unfortunately relatively tasteless - almost bland. The prices are clearly too high for that. Unfortunately, the beer from the barrel was also very low in carbon dioxide and therefore very sweet. Not a repeat for me, there is much better sushi in Hamburg for the same price.

We tried the Miso an Karaage Ramen for lunch and unfortuanetly were disappointed by the taste. The broth could have been more umami and the meat was too dry. We would rather recommend other Ramen restaurants in St. Georg.

I ordered sushi there with a friend and it was very tasty. The staff was friendly and we were even able to order vegetarian options for non-vegetarian options upon request. The decor is very nice, but it was a bit cold in the restaurant and quite dark. Otherwise we were very happy with everything.

Food was good! I like them a lot. But I felt shrimp tempura was a bit old. It was quite pricey sadly. You can pay ec card or cash only. Don't forget 😊 Ramen was delicious! The price is not cheap, but the fried shrimp tasted and smelled old. You can only pay with ec card or cash, so take cash!

- Food: the restaurant provides various types of sushi. I would not say this is authentic Japanese sushi type, it's more of fushion sushi type that we all know of. I an a fan of both 😊. I love everything that we ordered, especially the sashimi! The fish was fresh and very tasty! So are the other ingredients! Therefore, the price is definitely worth it. - Service: the staffs are nice, friendly and attentive. It would be better if they also take credit cards for payments. As far as I know, only cash or EC cards are accepted. - Atmosphere: the place is cozy, however it is so small, in comparison to the amount of tables, that it would make me feel uncomfortable to breathe at some point. Nevertheless, I heard that there's another side of the restaurant, which is way bigger. I would definitely try that next time.

Yesterday I dined at Ginza and tried both the sushi and udon. Overall, I’d give it 4 out of 5 stars. Everything we ordered was truly delicious—each dish was carefully prepared and full of fresh, authentic flavors. However, there were two things that kept the experience from being mind-blowing. First, while the food was tasty, nothing stood out as particularly innovative or unforgettable. Second, the prices are on the expensive side; I’ve had similar meals elsewhere for the same price but left feeling even more satisfied. If you’re looking for high-quality Japanese cuisine and don’t mind paying a premium, this spot is definitely worth a visit.

We arrived around 5:30 p.m. without a reservation and were immediately given a place for two people. Because we were there so early, we received our order very promptly. The restaurant has gradually filled up, which is why we would recommend a reservation for larger groups. The food was very tasty and the portions were large.

The prices were reasonable, everything else was very nice, but I was fed up with the fact that far eastern restaurants in Germany only accept cash. I don't understand why they work this way. That's why I deducted 1 point from the service.

Kleiner Laden mit einigen schönen Deko-Elementen, freundliches und aufmerksames Personal. Essen (Sushi) war relativ zügig da und lecker. Natürlich ist es kein 100% authentisches Sushi-Restaurant, aber kann man trotzdem mit gutem Gewissen absolut weiterempfehlen.

Enjoy japanese food in good company and a simple asian ambience. We had different plates of fish and beef (no Sushi or Ramen). The portions were a little small, but tasty and of good quality. We can recommend the warm Sake, but one is definitely enough for 2 person. The service was great and we felt comfortable. You need to place a reservation.
