Ginza Japanese Kitchen in Hamburg

- Food: the restaurant provides various types of sushi. I would not say this is authentic Japanese sushi type, it's more of fushion sushi type that we all know of. I an a fan of both 😊. I love everything that we ordered, especially the sashimi! The fish was fresh and very tasty! So are the other ingredients! Therefore, the price is definitely worth it. - Service: the staffs are nice, friendly and attentive. It would be better if they also take credit cards for payments. As far as I know, only cash or EC cards are accepted. - Atmosphere: the place is cozy, however it is so small, in comparison to the amount of tables, that it would make me feel uncomfortable to breathe at some point. Nevertheless, I heard that there's another side of the restaurant, which is way bigger. I would definitely try that next time.

This is a real good Ramen place in Hamburg. It is a bit difficult to get there and the restaurant is quite small. But there is great service and the food is delicious.

Yesterday I dined at Ginza and tried both the sushi and udon. Overall, I’d give it 4 out of 5 stars. Everything we ordered was truly delicious—each dish was carefully prepared and full of fresh, authentic flavors. However, there were two things that kept the experience from being mind-blowing. First, while the food was tasty, nothing stood out as particularly innovative or unforgettable. Second, the prices are on the expensive side; I’ve had similar meals elsewhere for the same price but left feeling even more satisfied. If you’re looking for high-quality Japanese cuisine and don’t mind paying a premium, this spot is definitely worth a visit.

We arrived around 5:30 p.m. without a reservation and were immediately given a place for two people. Because we were there so early, we received our order very promptly. The restaurant has gradually filled up, which is why we would recommend a reservation for larger groups. The food was very tasty and the portions were large.

Delicious food, friendly staff. Cozy place, perfect for a quick bite as well as a feast! We went there for something warm and it was a very good choice 👍 For me simple miso soup was the most delicious 🤤 but all dishes were great! Definitely a place that I can recommend and I will come back to! 🤍

The prices were reasonable, everything else was very nice, but I was fed up with the fact that far eastern restaurants in Germany only accept cash. I don't understand why they work this way. That's why I deducted 1 point from the service.

Kleiner Laden mit einigen schönen Deko-Elementen, freundliches und aufmerksames Personal. Essen (Sushi) war relativ zügig da und lecker. Natürlich ist es kein 100% authentisches Sushi-Restaurant, aber kann man trotzdem mit gutem Gewissen absolut weiterempfehlen.

Enjoy japanese food in good company and a simple asian ambience. We had different plates of fish and beef (no Sushi or Ramen). The portions were a little small, but tasty and of good quality. We can recommend the warm Sake, but one is definitely enough for 2 person. The service was great and we felt comfortable. You need to place a reservation.

We had a lovely lunch at this restaurant. We had kids and the servers found us a spacious corner where we didn’t disturb other customers and had plenty of room. The staff were so friendly throughout. The food was tasty, however for the price I’d have expected better sushi. I wanted to try the ramen but was disappointed there was only one veggie option.

Unfortunately, the food is not authentic Japanese at all and is too expensive for the quality. You get a spicy mayonnaise with the tempura. The expensive butterfish sushi had Sriracha sauce on it. Unfortunately not what I expect from a Japanese restaurant.

Cockroach in the Tonkotsu Ramen. Happened on December 1, 2024 at around 3 p.m. I had already eaten half of my ramen when I spotted the cockroach.

Top food. Fast friendly service. Here people learn that Japanese food is much more than just raw cold fish. The soups and sauces are perfectly strong and balanced.

Unfortunately the food was rather average. We ordered a sushi platter, but the sushi wouldn't make it into the top 10 for me. It was fresh, but unfortunately pretty tasteless. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, but there aren't very many seats, which limits the stay a bit. The service, on the other hand, was very friendly and attentive, and the staff always responded to our wishes. Unfortunately, we won't be stopping by here again for sushi.

Small but cosy restaurant that close to train station, quick service and nice staff. Spicy Miso Ramen from lunch menu taste good, love the soup and noodles, pork also ok. Not a large portion but enough for a female and only cost 11 euro, good value.

My visit to Ginza Japanese Kitchen was a complete success! As a starter I had the miso soup (€5), which was nice and warm and aromatic - a perfect start. This was followed by the Kihabara Bento (€33), which impressed with a large selection of freshly prepared delicacies, including sushi, tempura and fine side dishes. Everything was very tasty and beautifully presented. Finally there was the Shoyu Ramen (16 €), the noodle soup was rich, the broth had a deep flavor and the ingredients were fresh. Overall the food was really fantastic. The service was attentive and paying with a debit card went smoothly. I will definitely come back! Thank you for the great experience!

Very tasty, sushi, udon noodles and the bowl all get a clear recommendation

There were three of us and we started with tea and homemade lemonade. Where else can you get freshly made ginger tea made from fresh ginger and goji berries? Right here, as well as very good Sencha tea. Then we had super delicious spicy edamame. Afterwards 3 different plates of sushi. Everything was excellent!!! I can highly recommend this restaurant. Now that's it, I'll have a look at dessert 😉

Unfortunately, not a very good experience. Not too bad though. They made an effort and were friendly, but a few things happened during our visit that overall don't warrant a top rating. The homemade lemonade initially had soy sauce instead of sugar syrup, but it was replaced without any problem. After a mistake was corrected here, the food was averagely good, but very little. If I want to sell small portions of ramen, then that should be reflected in the choice of dishes and prices. The bowls were only half full and the prices were rather in the higher segment. Overall, rather below average.

We had reserved a table for three people in the evening and the drink order was taken and delivered quickly. The lemonades (of which there are several to choose from on the menu) were exotic and really tasty. The main course was udon noodles, ramen and a sushi platter. The food was an absolute delight! Unfortunately only four stars due to the fact that only EC card payments and cash were possible and this was not communicated beforehand. (Not even in writing on the card)

I had the pleasure of visiting a wonderful Japanese restaurant in Hamburg and absolutely loved it! The atmosphere is authentic and cozy, the staff very friendly and attentive. I was particularly impressed by the ramen at number 205 - a real treat! The broth was incredibly flavorful and the ingredients were fresh and perfectly balanced. People feel the attention to detail in every bite. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to experience real Japanese cuisine. I will definitely come back!

One of the best sushi I've ever had (sweet salmon platter). Gyozas were actually the best we've ever had and we eat them at every Asian restaurant. The miso soup and udon noodles were also very tasty. A total stroke of luck for us. Absolutely recommended!!!

There were 8 of us here on a Monday evening. The starters were all good, the kimchi was just very spicy, a little too spicy in my opinion. For the main course we had various sushi variations and Pho's, consistently delicious and the PLV was absolutely fair. To give the 5th star, I've eaten better, so only 4 stars. The service was attentive and friendly, 5 stars. Ambiance is ok, is in the "basement" and is not the most comfortable as it is very narrow, hence only 4 stars. It was a 4+ star visit overall.

A fantastic restaurant. Fine dining for Japan fans. I started with the salmon tartare, I was absolutely thrilled. Beautifully prepared, fresh, perfectly seasoned. Followed by a more than generous helping of ramen. Strong in taste, crunchy, delicious ingredients. All of this was accompanied by very good service, which almost gave you a family feeling. Shot with mochi ice cream. Overall, a recommendation for every fan of Japanese cuisine, and for me almost one of the insider tips for going out in Hamburg.

We were here for dinner. Due to the small restaurant and few guests, the service is even more attentive and super nice! The food and homemade drinks are excellent.

Sashimi was great, good pieces and very tasty. Sushi, on the other hand, was very small, many on top of each other, and the fish was practically non-existent. The taste was masked by lots of souses and crunches. Very disappointing for me. The wine was good and the service was very attentive and friendly.

I was honestly expecting some much better considering the rating and the price point. I wouldn't come here again. The salmon California roll sushi was probably some of the worst I've ever had. The rice was legitimately crunchy and also the roll would fall immediately apart when trying to pick it up with chopsticks. The staff seemed to be new/untrained which didn't help with the overall experience.

Vegetable tempura is delicious. But the shrimp tempura is terrible! The incredibly thick dough is almost like a half-baked product from the supermarket. The sashimi platter was served before it was thawed. I was scammed with so-called "authentic Japanese food". Additionally, the decor in this restaurant is poor and the prices are high however.

Ramen, gyoza, tempura - everything was delicious! The lemonade is also recommended. The decoration and vibe are great and the service was cool and super nice.

I love the ramen here, but was a bit disappointed when, in response to a “please, no spicy” from my companion, hot sauce was spread over their food. And recently I ordered the vegan ramen and got tofu with corn, although the meat ramen is also filled with asparagus, mushrooms, etc. That could be better ;-)

The Sushi is very good, quite pricey though. The inside was too hot, but the atmosphere was delightful.

The food was very good, the service was at times undiscoverable, so we drank one less drink. But we would love to come back because of the excellent food.

We had the Udon with Beef and the Vegan Ramen. It was super tasty, good portion size. The udon noodles also had a lot of different vegetables in it, carrots, peppers, broccoli, corn, eggplant & zucchini and the delicious sauce made it perfect.

Expensive and bad. The diameter of the makis was no bigger than a 50 cent coin. The nigiris were 2 centimetres long. And they were not good.

We reserved a table through TheFork for 4:30 p.m. with a 30% discount. We were told on site that the discount was only valid until 4:30 p.m. and that we would not receive any discount. Why does TheFork offer the option of reserving a table at 4:30 p.m. with a 30% discount if the discount is only valid until 4:30 p.m.??? It was also stated in the reservation that the table was reserved for our wedding anniversary. Despite this and despite the fact that we had a 30-minute drive, the lady was not at all understanding and did not see the restaurant's mistake.

A beautifully decorated restaurant where you can also sit outside. There is a very good selection of ramen, bowls, sushi and appetizers. I ordered the Karaage Bowl and the Homemade Lemonade. The karaage bowl was just really delicious. The rice was cooked to perfection, the vegetables were crisp and fresh and the chicken was also very well cooked, juicy and the breading was crispy. And in combination with the teriyaki sauce and the mayo sauce, it harmonizes very well. The homemade lemonade was refreshing, especially in the summer on hot days, the lemonade is very good. The employees were very nice, friendly and accommodating. The price-performance ratio is good. I can only recommend it.

Nice Japanese restaurant. The service is very friendly, the menu is extensive. A good selection of starters, sushi and other dishes as well as a selection of homemade lemonades. The tempura was very good, the sushi was ok - everything was priced at the usual level for Hamburg city center. In summer you can also sit outside.

There's nothing Japanese about ramen in terms of taste. According to the menu, mine had miso in it, but I couldn't taste it. I missed ramen with typical ingredients on the menu. Whatever the reason the restaurant has good reviews, it's definitely not because of the ramen. I liked the location and decoration, the staff was friendly. Update: Went there again, unfortunately the sushi wasn't any better. Sorry, not our restaurant.

Nice little restaurant where you can just have a snack or drink, but also eat well.

A modern Japanese sushi restaurant with good food. We had a sushi platter for two which tasted really good. Price-wise a bit expensive for what you get. We needed to order another appetizer since we were still hungry. Service was ok, it took them a bit too long to take our order and to pay, but they were friendly and kind. We can only judge the ambience outside. Quit crowded. Overall a solid 4 out of 5

The best sushi I've eaten so far! The ambience and service were also great. Prices are standard for sushi. The next time I'm in Hamburg I'll definitely come back :)
