GiGo BBQ in München

I don't usually write reviews, but this store definitely deserves it. I was at Gigo bbq for the first time with my sister and a friend on Saturday October 26th, 2024 and I have to say that the food and the service were a 12/10. We drove from Salzburg to Munich to actually see the city a bit, unfortunately it was too crowded in the city and we decided to make a reservation at the Gigo bbq. That was the highlight of the day! The service was very nice and competent. We took the menu for 3 people and added other dishes. Everything was on the table within 5 minutes. You can really taste the quality in the meat and side dishes! For dessert I had the mochi ice cream and my sister had the matcha ice cream. Even though I don't normally like matcha, it was really delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone and we would love to come back :) It looks very cute but also elegant from the inside. The flowers in the foyer and the manga on the wall make it really inviting. I wish the Gigo-bbq team a nice week and thank you again for the great service 💕 Ps unfortunately the parking spaces are rather limited in Munich, so it would be better to go there by train or bus :) With kind regards, Marija from Salzburg :)

Good Korean BBQ with small deficiencies in the side dishes. Salad with dressing inappropriate, kimchi not really good, spring onion kimchi or other little things like raw garlic and chilli missing. The meat was good and so was the grill. Unfortunately, there is a strong focus on expensive cuts of beef, with few simpler cuts, especially pork. Especially in the pre-built menus. We were a bit pressured to leave, but it's fine given the restaurant's generously airy seating and otherwise very friendly and attentive service. I have never had a better KBBQ in Munich.

We eat here and it was really a great experience! The food was incredibly delicious. The atmosphere is modern and cozy, you immediately feel at home. I would particularly like to emphasize the fast and friendly service, which rounded the whole thing off perfectly. Absolutely recommended!

Super tasty, very nice ambience and great service.

First of all, unlimited banchan (side dishes) are great and unfortunately too rare at KBBQ. Meat quality is top! Super tasty. Overall, highly recommended!

Reservation via OpenTable - pointless. You still have to wait at the bar and will be seated at the next available table. Price for 3 people for the 3 plate + a bottle. Soju + 3 Helle for 180€ = way too expensive. Unfortunately, the side dishes were very tasteless and without any kick. Meat would be good if grilled. You put the meat on and just have to wait forever. Then why do I pay for the experience of a BBQ at the table? Unfortunately, I've never experienced anything like that and I've been to a few Korean BBQs around the world. In the end we were charged without even asking for the bill and were literally swept away from the table so that there was room for the next waiting guests.

Despite a reservation there was a 40 minute wait.

We wanted to celebrate another birthday at GIGO BBQ and reserved a table in the niche via OpenTable. However, when we arrived on time, our table was already taken and instead we were given a rather uncomfortable seat at the front door. It was cool there and there were many waiting customers crowding the counter because there were apparently delays with other reservations. Otherwise everything was fine. However, some side dishes were out and had to be re-prepared.

What a shame, despite reservations, several people waited for a table. Staff didn't even pay attention to you. Never again!!!

Still having to wait and be ignored by the waiters even if we had reservation. They even told us “immer warten” Food is very mediocre. The quality of meat is very inconsistent, some are still OK but mostly not fresh.

For me, the experience was more important than the expected quality. Despite a reservation there was a waiting time of 40 minutes. According to the manager, there were double bookings from the tool that day. The waiting time was bridged with free Prosecco. So justifiable on my part. The interior design looks functional and chic, only the smell of grease is a bit annoying. You could order different menus or individual grilled food. Unlimited side dishes were included in the menus. The taste of the meat was okay, for my taste the heat isn't enough to caramelize the fat, so it was a bit bland. The side dishes are spicy and tasty. The prices are rather high, but are justified by the experience and variety. The good and attentive service also plays its part. Personally, I don't have the taste explosion to make another visit.

We had reserved a place at 7 p.m. However, when we arrived on time it was total chaos. Instead of being taken to our "reserved" table, we had to wait 15 minutes until we were assigned a seat. (This had been free for some time, but according to the staff it couldn't be occupied, despite a reservation...) This wasn't just the case for us, but also for all the other guests who had reserved a place at this time. In general, the service was very stressed and the guests were also tense (quick clearing of food, even though some of them hadn't finished their plates yet). But the food, it has to be said, was very enjoyable. Portions were perfect, but there was a lot of skimping on the side dishes, so you often had to wait until you got a refill of the side dishes. By the way, the kimchi was a bit mild, so unfortunately not that authentic.

We and 8 other people had a reservation for 8pm. There were no free seats in the restaurant and the employee was visibly surprised and overwhelmed by the high demand. Due to the long waiting time, we moved on to the neighboring Vietnamese restaurant Jacci.

Really nice place with good food. Overall a very good experience. Quite pricey at around 80eur/person with drinks but I guess it's somewhere you'd only go on special occasions

Sehr angenehme Atmosphäre innen wie außen. Wir haben uns die Platte für 2 Personen bestellt. Es war absolut ausreichend. Beilagen (6 verschiedene) können jederzeit kostenfrei nachbestellt werden. Das gleich ist eine Hammer Qualität. Ja nicht ganz billig, aber bei dieser Qualität absolut verständlich. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Really good meet, was Moday so ot to ceoweded. the serviice was really great, the food was goood, main coourses and side dished. I'll come back soon!!!

Extremely delicious food with the experience of grilling yourself. Service very accommodating. Prices are higher depending on the quality.

A rare Wagyu shop in Munich with excellent products

Alles war super. Nur wir müssten leider trotz der Reservierung halbe Stunde auf einen Tisch warten.

The service was quick and courteous. We had both pork and beef. The beef was better than other BBQs in Munich. The pork worse. The side dishes were inauthentic. The pancake was dry and hard. The kimchi is barely fermented and with little paste. Zucchini and tofu were ok. They would have liked to have left out the glass noodles. The soup was very good. The selection of sauces was small. Actually just a really mixed one. The chicken wings were tasty even if a little hard. My cocktail was made with cheap alcohol. The next day I had a hangover from just one. So really cheap alcohol. Light was ok.

We always enjoy eating here. The meat and side dishes are really fantastic and the service is very accommodating. Always a great experience.

Insanely good food, the meat is 1 A with stars. The service was very good! Definitely worth a visit if you like to grill your own meat. Everything just fits! Price-wise - it looks expensive at first glance, but since the plates are for 2 people, it's not expensive! And honestly, you're happy to pay for good meat, top service and a wonderful ambience, because you'll remember it.

First table cooking experience outside, the meat was of good quality and the dishes are unlimited (I think) — we weren't charged extra for more kimchi.

Simply great. You can eat comfortably outside as well as inside. The staff was attentive and very friendly and the food was also very good. 90€ is a reasonable price for 2 people for the amount you get.

Wir waren für einen wochenendausflug in München und hatten natürlich nach was besonderem zum Essen gesucht. Da wir wegen meiner Frau am Tag zuvor in einer Pizzaria "Pizzarei" waren, die auch sehr gut war, durfte ich am 2ten Tag mir etwas aussuchen. Sowohl das Ambiente, der weg zum Restaurant und auch der ganze Aufbau wie auch der Geschmack, war alles sehr gut. Der Preis ist natürlich etwas höher, aber für gutes Fleisch, und dies war in diesem Fall definitiv so, war der Preis sehr angemessen. Ich kann es nur weiter empfehlen.

Great, 3 people eat more than enough for 150 euros plus drinks. Unfortunately the tables are a bit cramped but otherwise great. Gladly again.

Great food! I got the kimchi fried rice, and it exceeded all my expectations. Not only was the taste good (a bit spicy, which I like), but also were they very generous with the portion and the beef! They also gave me a lot of side dishes as well, and they were all so good. For me, I’ve always known that I don’t like radish, but the one that they have is so good it might have changed my mind about radish in general. I have attached a picture of the kimchi fried rice here. I know it’s not the best picture because I already started eating. But don’t blame me, blame the restaurants for making it look so appetizing that I forgot to take a picture!

Eating here is a great experience if you've never had Korean BBQ like this before. The meat was very tender. The side dishes were very tasty and are always refilled. Add soju and the whole evening was perfect. The price-performance ratio is right. The service is extremely friendly.

No matter how good the food was and how nice the service was, there were 6 of us, we ordered 3 partner menus and then got the side dishes for 2... we would have asked specifically, it could be that we only had kimchi twice etc and he said yes... but that's actually cheating... Sry but that's just stupid...

It was a lovely evening with really tasty food and good cocktails. Very attentive staff, although communication works better in English than in German. Gladly again.

It was such a great evening! The food was incredibly good, the meat was of top quality. The side dishes, which were constantly refilled for free, all tasted absolutely fantastic. Even though we were sitting inside, it wasn't too warm with the table grills and the smell wasn't bothersome either. I can only recommend everyone to eat here!

I swallowed at first at the prices. But the food tasted great, the service was outstanding, super friendly and fast and the side dishes for the 4-person platter were refilled several times free of charge, with the waiter going to the table several times and asking. Always happy, although my wallet doesn't allow it very often. But it was definitely worth the price.

Wir waren zum ersten Mal im GIGO & es war richtig toll. Man kann Fleisch Platten auswählen und bekommt dazu verschiedene Beilagen wie Kimchi, Reis, Glasnudeln, eine Rindersuppe etc vorweg. Auf Nachfrage bekommt man auch, ohne Aufpreis, Beilagen-Nachschlag. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam. Das Einzige was ich dazu schreiben möchte, ist dass die Plätze draußen an der Hauswand sehr viele Spinnweben und Blätter haben. Wenn man direkt an der Hauswand sitzt früher man sich dadurch etwas unwohl. Aber sonst war alles top. Danke ☺️

He estado en este restaurante hace unos días con mi novio, quien me llevó para una celebración especial. El ambiente es muy acogedor y agradable. La carne estaba súper tierna, se deshacía en la boca, una delicia.

Place is incredible. Beautifully decorated, amazing food and delicious beverages. Service was wonderful. Would come back everyday if I could! And if you are going, do try their passion fruit tonic drink! It's to die for!

We had reserved, but were 1.5 hours early and still got a table straight away. The service was extremely quick and very friendly. Our choice fell on the grill plate for two people. What is particularly noteworthy is that the side dishes were regularly replenished by staff. In terms of price, it's a bit expensive but definitely justified for the quality of the food, the ambience and the service. It definitely won't be the last visit!

I've never been to a place like this before, but I really liked it. The food was delicious and well seasoned, the atmosphere was informal and modest in a positive sense. Recommended... If relevant, it doesn't have WiFi (that was bad for my partner, but I think it has a certain charm 😉)

The side dishes were quite good, and the meat, of course was amazing. Hits the pocketbook, but enjoyable.

Yummy food, beautiful space, great for social time with a group of friends

I've wanted to enjoy a Korean BBQ for a long time and invited my daughter and her family. I was impressed by the quality of the food and I could understand the price. What was interesting was that the supplements could be reordered free of charge. This was important for my granddaughter because they first had to find out what they liked. A big compliment to the service. Everything happened very quickly and hospitably. I was surprised that my youngest (2) was able to sit down in the aisle and the waitress and waiter let her happen. The atmosphere is very appealing. The only problem we had was the space on the table when all the food was served. We somehow managed it. Thank you again 🙏 Hartmut

The best Korean restaurant experience that I’ve found in Munich. It’s not cheap, but worth it for special occasions.

I’ve been to this place for the first time, and I want to recommend it as a wonderful restaurant with polite, friendly staff. Food and service at the highest level.

Fantastic Korean BBQ place, went early in the evening, could get a table without reservation but I suggest still reserving a table since the place is generally popular.

Unique experience, best meat, everything else extremely tasty, nice quick service, clean toilets, nice atmosphere with a small beer garden, also grilled :) Well, not cheap, but an event that will be remembered! Definitely try it out!

As always, fantastic food. Best meat quality. This time the service was very inattentive, no one ever came to the table to ask if additional side dishes were wanted. To order coffee after our meal we had to go to the counter ourselves because there was no waiter or waitress in sight.

Very nicely decorated. Inside there was animation and cherryblossoms everywhere. We sat outside with the table open in the middle. I didn't find the waiter that friendly. The platter for 2 cost around 120 euros. I didn't particularly like it. I increased the rating by one point because the restaurant made an effort to address my feedback. Would love to visit again and try something different

We had a great time here! We were a group of five and came to celebrate a birthday. Two of us shared a meat platter which was plenty for them. Three of us were vegetarian so they were so kind to prepare us a platter of veggies and tofu. All the side dishes were delicious and in the end we got a little birthday surprise for my friend. Really good experience and everything considered grear value for money. Definitely recommend.

Food was great, but by far the worst and most unfriendly service anyone in the group has ever experienced. We felt like we were intruding, after the food was there there was no chance to order something to drink before clearing away. The waiter was so unfriendly, he snapped at you to hand over the dishes. No matter how good it tasted, we won't go there again. Very unfortunate.

Had the Wagyu beef menu - it was very good 👍🏻 The waitress was also super nice and often asked if we wanted more tapas. :)

The restaurant is easy to reach both by public transport and by car. We ordered the beef platter. The service is extremely friendly and quick. All dishes were served to us within 10 minutes. You can order the side dishes as often as you like. I thought the kimchi and pickled radish were delicious. The main course, the beef, was very good and there was enough quantity. I particularly noticed the service, as soon as you wanted something they were there, even though the restaurant was very busy. It was a very successful dinner and I will definitely come back. 👌

Wow. The food is what you make of it, as you grill your own meat and can combine the side dishes however you like. The quality of the meat is impeccable. And the service was quick and attentive. An experience. Gladly again.

Tolles Fleisch & super Erlebnis. Waren zu einem Geburtstag da & kann man nur empfehlen. Man bestellt Fleischplatten, die man selber grillt & zu denen gibt es dann all you can eat mäßig Beilagen.

Stylishly furnished and the Wagyu is also of good quality, but that's about it. Everything is really so-so. Price is rather overpriced compared to other BBQ. Therefore not for me.

The food is very average especially for the price not horrible but not great either. The value for money isn't great. If it was half the price it would make it worth it but for the price it's not good. The service was quick and the waiters we're very friendly, which is a definite plus. Everything was clean and the atmosphere was nice too. It's a shame that it's so overpriced.

A nice atmosphere and a small experience but you have to like it a lot to not find the prices painful. The quality of the meat is good, the side dishes and cocktails lack sophistication. Rolling up the ingredients in the salad leaves served and eating them as described by the waiter is impossible.

Almost no chance without a reservation. But for good reason, as the restaurant seems very reputable and the food, especially the meat, is of very good quality. The ambience and look are very modern and the service is very nice and quick. There are seats both inside and outside. In terms of price, an upscale restaurant. Definitely worth a restaurant recommendation. The food was very, very good.

I like the concept and Korean sauces. Kimchis were tasteful and meats are just like what they should be!

Wer nach etwas Besonderem auf der Suche ist, ist hier genau richtig. Grillen direkt vor einem auf dem Tisch und das mit hervorragenden Fleisch und Beilagen sowie sehr gutem Service. Eine eindeutige Empfehlung

Schlechter Service, Grilltemperatur nicht ausreichend um Fleisch zu grillen. Da wird selbst hochwertiges Fleisch zur Schuhsohle

Leider sehr enttäuschend. Wir hatten Fleisch bestellt zum Grillen. Nahezu alle „Side dishes“ waren geschmacklich katastrophal, als ob es mehrere Tage in der Küche gestanden hätte. Sicher nicht frisch zubereitet. Selbst der Reis war kalt und abgestanden. Das Fleisch alleine war okay. Das Ambiente erinnert eher an eine urige deutsche Gaststätte. Inhaber/Mitarbeiter offenkundig keine Koreaner. Das Essen ist definitiv nicht authentisch.

The place has a nice look. The concept is fun for an evening with friends. The best on this evening was the fried chicken! All the sides were ok but nothing special. The meat well was ok but also not ground breaking. Price performance int this case not good enough. First the service was quick but we then were waiting 45 mins without drinks. Overall you can come here to try it once but most likely won't come back for the food more the atmosphere and experience. Also side note for vegetarians/ Vegas very little choice.

We made a reservation for Saturday evening, arrived on time and were told that we would probably have to wait 45 minutes for a table. It's a shame, we would have liked to eat there. Both the food and the ambience looked great. It may be better to reserve by phone than online - but if you can't guarantee it online, it's better not to offer it or give any information about it.

Although it is Korean food, the salad that resembles kimchi with sugar and green onion is quite sweet, and it feels like the kimchi pancake was made by adding water to the ssamjang and adding red pepper powder to the dough. The power of the grill was very weak, so grilling to keep the meat juices was impossible. Song, too, right? I felt quite distracted... It was nice that there was no additional charge for additional side dishes, but it wasn't a good place for the price, much less a place I'd go again, and it's definitely not a place I would recommend to an acquaintance or friend. I think it would be appropriate to think of it as a Vietnamese-style Korean BBQ. If you go with high expectations, you'll get it.

We were 2 women and we paid 110€. The side dishes are delicious and varied, you can order as many times as you want at no extra charge (free of charge!) The meat is quality, fresh and tastes excellent. Service is friendly and the decor is beautiful

We really enjoyed our stay in the restaurant. The meat was high quality and very tasty. We were pretty busy preparing and grilling ourselves. The service was very attentive and quick. Nice ambience with the cherry tree in the room.

A great experience! You grill yourself at the table. The five of us ordered a meat platter for three and an additional portion of meat and a soup with glass noodles. That was completely sufficient and a real pleasure. The meat was top quality, absolutely fresh and tasted excellent. Side dishes were included for reordering and were very tasty and varied. We particularly recommend the small pancakes. The cocktails with fresh fruits are also a dream.

Schönes Gruppenerlebnis, aber der Grill war leider nicht heiß genug, um das Fleisch zu braten. Das Fleisch konnte nur erwärmt werden, aber keine Röstaromen erzeugt. Absaugung über Grill funktionierte nicht, oder hat noch nie funktioniert und ist nur Deko.

Eating bibimbab (with tofu instead of beef) was very tasty. Service was a bit slow and unfortunately half of them spoke neither German nor English. => a bit of a shame. Otherwise everything is ok Nice atmosphere, unfortunately the door was open for half the evening and it was very cold.

I would like to briefly summarize in advance: Great cuisine, great team and overall an absolutely successful evening! And: absolutely worth the money! It was our first time at a Korean BBQ and it won't be the last. The quality of the meat is second to none! Rarely have I experienced such top quality when dining out! Both the Wagyu, the regular beef and the Iberico, all really top notch! You get tons of side dishes (including pasta, rice and soup), which are continually replenished at no extra charge! The sauces for the BBQ are awesome! Very great drinks (Passion Fizz and Lychee Cooler highly recommended). The service is absolutely top! Very friendly waiters and very attentive! We'll definitely be back!

Ich möchte gleich vorab kurz zusammenfassen: Grandiose Küche, tolles Team und insgesamt ein absolut gelungener Abend! Und: Absolut das Geld wert! Wir waren alle das erste mal bei einem Korean BBQ und das wird nicht das letze mal gewesen sein. Die Fleischqualität sucht seinesgleichen! Selten beim Auswärtsessen eine solche top Qualität erlebt! Sowohl das Wagyu, das normale Beef als auch das Iberico, allesamt wirklich 1A! Man erhält Unmengen an Beilagen (inkl. Nudeln, Reis und Suppe), welche auch noch kontinuierlich ohne Aufpreis aufgefüllt werden! Die Saucen zum BBQ sind genial! Sehr tolle Getränke (Passion Fizz und Lychee Cooler sehr empfehlenswert). Der Service ist absolut top! Sehr freundliche Kellner und sehr aufmerksam! Wir kommen sicher wieder!

In general, not bad, but for people who live in an apartment and do not have the opportunity to grill at home. The check is overpriced in my opinion.
