Wir haben bei bestem Service ein geschmackvolles Abendessen genossen. Gerne kommen wir wieder.

Absolut solide Küche und tolles Ambiente. Leider ein No Go für Senioren oder Behinderte. Weit und breit keine Parkmöglichkeit. Wir würden öfter kommen und für ein „Valley Parken“ auch bezahlen !!!

Leckeres Essen und netter Service

Eine großartige, stilvolle Brasserie. Der Inhaber kümmert sich persönlich um den Service. Das Schweinekotelett war hervorragend zubereitet. Die Crème brûlée war in Ordnung; die Sahne war mir etwas zu dünn und die Zuckerschicht nicht gleichmäßig dick, in der Mitte sogar etwas zu dick. Geschmacklich war sie gut und hatte die richtige Temperatur.

Das beste Restaurant in der Stadt. Da ist jedes Essen ein Erlebnis für den Gaumen. Außerordentliche Kreationen, freundlicher Service, hier stimmt alles. Ein Lichtblick in der sonst eher traurigen Gladbacher Gastroszene, die meist nur aus Schnitzel- und Dönerkneipen besteht

Nach langer Pause mal wieder das Gero besucht und sehr enttäuscht und hungrig nach Hause gefahren. ZÜRICHER Geschnetzeltes war eine kleine Hand voll Fleisch in einer braunen Bratensoße ohne weitere Zutaten - lieblos. Dazu 3 mini Rösti und eine handvoll Rotebeetesalat. Mengenmäßig war dies ein Kinderteller und für ganze 32 € eigentlich eine Frechheit. Der Inhaber fragte nach, ob alles in Ordnung gewesen sei und ist wort- und tatenlos gegangen, nachdem wir ihm gesagt hatten, dass es sich wohl eher um eine Kinderportion gehandelt hat. Es kam noch nicht einmal ein Gruß zum Abschied und somit wird uns der Laden als arrogant und unfreundlich in Erinnerung bleiben. Geschmacklich haben wir ein Züricher Geschnetzeltes in anderen Lokalen deutlich besser gegessen und sind nicht hungrig nach Hause gefahren! 👎

Ein wirklich gelungener Abend - Service, Ambiente, Speisen und Getränke sprechen für sich! Aber beginnen wir vorne: wir konnten kurzfristig einen Tisch um 18:00 Uhr bekommen – ein Dank an dieser Stelle fürs möglich machen! Wir wurden am Eingang freundlich begrüßt und wurden, nachdem wir unsere Jacken abgelegt hatten, zu unserem Tisch geführt. Zusammen mit der Speisekarte fragte man uns nach den Wünschen zum Aperitif, ich entschied mich für einen Cremant - eine gute Wahl. Zum Aperitif reichte uns ein paar Cracker und Oliven von sehr guter Qualität. Die Wahl des Weines aus der sorgfältig selektierten Weinkarte fiel auf den Kalkvogel Sauvignon Blanc von Zillinger. Als Gruß aus der Küche, erreichte uns nachdem wir unsere Speisen ausgewählt hatten eine kleine Frikadelle mit Püree und Senf, schön saftig und der Senf nicht zu dominant. Als Vorspeise entschied ich mich für Tatar vom Thunfisch aus Sri Lanka, der auf ganzer Linie überzeugte. Kurz vor dem Hauptgang gab es ein kleines Sorbet, dann kam das Highlight auf den Tisch: Skrei mit Püree, Bimi, Zuckerschoten und Tomaten 🔥 nachdem die ersten Gänge absolut top waren, musste man mich zu einem Dessert nicht überreden - zum doppelten Espresso gesellte sich das warme Schokoladenküchlein mit Ananaseis - und spätestens jetzt waren wir kulinarisch im 7. Himmel angekommen. Um das ganze abzurunden, gab es für uns noch ein Gläschen Cognac und von uns ein großes Lob an die Küche und den Service, die Gläser waren nie leer! Kurzum: Gero ist eine Adresse in Mönchengladbach, die man uneingeschränkt empfehlen kann. Auf bald! 🥂

Ein nicht schlecht eingerichtetes Lokal, wenn auch ziemlich beengt. Der Service nicht unfreundlich, aber nicht hilfreich, wenn es um veganes Essen geht. Und meine Bewertung bezieht sich nur darauf. Ich hatte online ein Restaurant gesucht, welches vegane Speisen anbietet. Bei TripAdvisor bekommt man angezeigt, dass Vegetarisch und vegane Optionen angeboten werden. Das ist nicht der Fall. Und man ist auch nicht im geringsten daran interessiert, etwas Veganes anzubieten. Im Gegenteil, es wurde darauf hingewiesen, dass die Küche dafür keine Zeit hätte. Das habe ich wirklich schon anders erlebt und finde es NICHT toll. Man könnte sich etwas mehr um einen Gast bemühen und wenigstens fragen, ob es vielleicht Pommes und ein Essig/Öl Salat sein darf. Wer trotzdem hin möchte, sollte auch wissen, dass die Parksituation eine Katastrophe ist.

An Gastfreundlichkeit kaum zu überbieten. Sehr aufmerksames Personal, der Chef hat immer alles im Blick. Das Essen war einfach nur spitze. Ehrliche hochwertige Küche. Hier stimmt alles. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Perfekte Location , super Speisekarte , super leckeres Essen in tollem Ambiente. Vielen Dank hierfür. Unser erster Besuch im Gero wurde neben dem Ambiete und dem guten Essen vom 6* -Service getopt. Der junge Kellner ( vermutlich noch in der Ausbildung , stammt aus Sri Lanka ) machte den Besuch im Gero durch den perfekten Service mit einer Mischung aus diskretem Humor und ehrlicher Höflichkeit , nichts gekünzelt oder gespielt, zum besonderen Vergnügen.

Mit Abstand das beste Restaurant in Mönchengladbach! Definitiv meine 1. Wahl, wenn Freunde von außerhalb zu Besuch kommen. Ich war schon sehr oft hier und habe noch nie schlecht gegessen - im Gegenteil, immer äußerst zufrieden das Restaurant verlassen! Der Service ist ebenfalls überragend - schnell, freundlich und sehr aufmerksam! Preis-Leistung in jedem Fall angemessen. Absolute Empfehlung!

Ein sehr schönes, hervorragend, von einem echten Gastgeber im klassischen Sinne, geführtes Lokal mit sehr gutem Essen und einem sehr guten, aber unaufdringlichen Service. Insgesamt ein eher älteres Publikum, aber das tut keinen Abbruch.

Sehr klein aber fein Service war super

Ein ordentliches Restaurant mit hervorragendem Essen, Getränken und Desserts (die hausgemachte Limonade war außergewöhnlich), sehr gutem Service und gemütlicher Atmosphäre. Die Atmosphäre ist angenehm, nur nicht besonders international (was hier wohl normal ist). Da ich aus Luxemburg komme, bin ich das einfach nicht gewohnt. 😀 Außerdem ist es blitzsauber.

Wir fragen uns ernsthaft, warum wir nicht schon viel früher in der Brasserie Gero gewesen sind! Dieses charmante Restaurant ist eine echte Entdeckung – eine kulinarische Perle in wunderschöner Lage direkt am Gero-Weiher. Die französisch geprägte Küche wird hier auf hohem Niveau zelebriert. Die Speisekarte ist vielseitig, kreativ und voller fantastischer Gerichte. Jedes Gericht war exzellent zubereitet, mit hochwertigen Zutaten und viel Liebe zum Detail. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir auch die Desserts – ein absoluter Traum! Fein abgestimmt, kunstvoll angerichtet und geschmacklich ein krönender Abschluss. Der Service war rundum angenehm: freundlich, aufmerksam und herzlich – genau so, wie man es sich wünscht. Das Ambiente ist stilvoll, warm und geschmackvoll gestaltet. Man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen und kann in aller Ruhe genießen. Ein Ort, an dem alles zusammenpasst – wir freuen uns schon sehr auf unseren nächsten Besuch!

Nachtrag 08/2025: Absolut empfehlenswert! Spontan haben wir heute einen Tisch erholsam, obwohl ausgebucht ist. Die Speisen, der Service und vorallem die Annehmlichkeiten waren außerordentlich gut. Hervorragende besondere Küche auf Michelin Niveau. Wir haben spontan einen Tisch erhalten und waren von der Qualität und Geschmack der Speisen überwältigt. Auch preislich sehr angenehm. Die Speisekarte ist NICHT Online verfügbar, da Sie fast täglich wechselt. Wir sind begeistert und kommen gerne mit Freunden wieder 👍🏻

Ich bin ein sehr wählerischer Mensch, wenn um Essen geht. Mir hat es hier ausgezeichnet gut geschmeckt. Die Portionen Größe war genau richtig. Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam. Mann hat sich hier sehr Wohl gefühlt.

Wir waren früher begeistert, aber gehen jetzt nicht mehr hin .Die Qualität ist gut , aber : Die Portionen werden immer kleiner , der Wein auf den Millimeter abgemessen. Bei den Preisen fühlen wir uns als Gast nicht wertgeschätzt. Schade

Gero Brasserie kann ich sehr empfehlen. Ich hatte einen Tisch reserviert. Meine Gäste und ich konnten draußen im Schatten sitzen. Das Essen war sehr gut und auch der Gruß aus der Küche war lecker. Der Service war sehr gut. Es war eine tolle Zeit mit meinen Gästen zu speisen. Gerne lade ich wieder Gäste ins Gero Brasserie ein.

Unfortunately, the beer we requested was also out of stock due to a problem with the keg. But what we did get was truly delicious, worthy of five stars, and well worth the slightly higher price. At 9:30 p.m. the two of us wanted to have a glass of wine after a home game in Gladbach... the restaurant was still relatively busy... As I said, we wanted to have a relaxed glass of wine for two. And was told that the kitchen has now closed. We replied...that's no problem, we just want to have a glass of wine. The answer I got was that this location is a dining restaurant and no drinks are served without food…. We'll never come to you again!!!! We would have paid well for our wine and disappeared to our bus before the last guests. We were referred to the old market. But we didn't want to go there, we already know these places. It's a shame, but this place probably doesn't need to sell drinks. Never again!!!

...as we all know, you can argue about taste...not about the Gero Brasserie... Every dish is an absolute pleasure, the wines are finely balanced and a very calm and pleasant atmosphere. Thank you for that!

I highly recommend this place. The food was awesome! The service was great. Was very surprised. In the summer I'll go again with my husband and try sitting outside again. Price performance was also great.

Nice ambience, modern country house style without any frills. friendly service, There is a lunch menu with offerings in the mid-price segment. You end up with drinks at 25 - 30 EUR per person. The dishes on the regular menu are all in the upper price segment. The offer is diverse. The quality is good and the dishes are presented in a visually appealing way. The taste is excellent. The dishes on the lunch menu are portioned so that they are sufficient for a physically inactive person. I do a lot of sport and for me it was something very little. After two hours I was hungry again. But I don't want to include that in the evaluation because it varies from person to person. What is worth highlighting is that personal wishes and intolerances are addressed without fuss. Super! Parking situation is difficult, like almost everywhere in MG.

Keine Ahnung ob wir einen schlechten Tag erwischt haben aber so etwas kinderunfreundliches und insgesamt wo wenig Service orientiertes Verhalten habe ich noch nie erlebt. Wir waren mit einem 2 jährigen Kind dort, es gab keinen Kinderstuhl und erst nach mehrmaligen Nachfragen wurde uns ein Platz gezeigt wo man den Kinderwagen hinstellen kann. Wir hatten reserviert, wir waren also nicht ohne Ankündigung dort. Auf die Bitte ein Foto zu machen reagierte man abweisend und genervt. Auf die Nachfrage ob es einen Wickeltisch gibt reagierte man unverschämt. Spoiler es gibt keinen. Portionen sehr klein und zum Teil extrem teuer für Mönchengladbach.

Disappointing experience – Not recommended We were looking forward to a lovely evening in this restaurant and were initially warmly welcomed, but unfortunately that was the highlight. The restaurant did not live up to the expectations raised by the reviews. First, the deer dish I ordered was out, as was the wild boar menu and the phasan. Instead I had to switch to the lamb dish, which unfortunately wasn't good either - the meat was too raw and overall poorly seasoned. My colleague's steak was also definitely too raw and the fat wasn't melted properly. The waiting time was extremely long and the volume in the restaurant was so high that it was almost impossible to have a pleasant conversation. When we complained, our plates were simply taken to the kitchen without any apology or offer of a small concession like dessert to make up for it. Very disappointing, especially since one of our friends had been here several times and recommended the restaurant to us. We definitely hoped for more.

A very lucky chance find that we made today. We were looking for a few tasty snacks and passed the brasserie on our way up to the Old Market. Excited by the variety on the menu, we stopped in and weren't disappointed. We were impressed by the very friendly service and great cuisine. Definitely come back next time you stop in MG.

At first it was a bit irritating that the portions were rather small, but then everything was so delicious that there was also a dessert/cheese included. The following were awarded: Monkfish with lime puree and sugar peas, Irish lamb with artichokes and potatoes, Zurich sliced ​​meat with Röstitaler cheese, Argentinian beef fillet, Tirami Su with strawberry ice cream, small cheese plates.

Been in the city for one day and i feel very lucky i found this place. Many choices in the menu, delicious meal and very kind and caring service in a beatiful place.

A beautiful, small restaurant with French charm at the foot of the Abteiberg. A lovely outdoor area with a view of the Geroweiher, and an interior with comfortable seating. The food is delicious and prepared with attention to detail. The char sashimi, for example, is served with chopsticks. Of the various restaurants we have visited in Mönchengladbach, the Gero Brasserie ranks at the top. The dishes are prepared to perfection and the wine accompaniment, which we gave to the chef, was an excellent combination. The menu has a large selection to suit every palate. You can visit the restaurant at least ten times without eating the same thing once. If you want to treat yourself and live in the nearby area, reserve a table at the Gero Brasserie. Special praise must be given to the service, which, despite the absence of two service staff, demonstrates a good eye for customer requirements and impresses with friendliness. We are already looking forward to the next visit.

No matter whether it's water or wine, the toppings are always attentive. The food is delicious, the prices are absolutely appropriate for the quality. In Düsseldorf or Cologne you would definitely pay 30% more. Absolute recommendation!!!

Our first visit to Gero was 2.5 years ago and we have been coming there almost every week since then to enjoy it. The dishes impress with their regional origin, seasonal availability and high-quality selection of raw materials. The offering is wide-ranging and offers delicacies to suit every palate. Our first visit to Gero. Everything was great: cozy atmosphere with lots of wood, friendly young service, attentive boss. Great menu. The fish soup was fantastic, the Königsberger meatballs from Eifler wild boar were exceptional, and the duck breast was fried to perfection. Everything is round. Absolutely balanced in terms of price.

Unser erster Besuch im Gero. Alles bestens: Gemütliches Ambiente mit viel Holz, freundlicher junger Service, aufmerksamer Chef. Tolle Speisekarte. Phantastisch die Fischsuppe, außergewöhnlich die Königsberger Klopse vom Eifler Wildschwein, perfekt gebratene Entembrust. Alles rund. Preislich absolut ausgewogen.

Mal wieder Spitzenklasse. Hier zeigt sich das dämliche System von Tripadvisor. Gero ist mit Abstand das beste Lokal in MG und …. liegt hier an 9. Stelle. Davor einige „Schrottbuden“. Früher konnte man sich mal auf Tripadvisor verlassen. Jetzt wird an dieser ursprünglich tollen App nichts mehr getan. Viele Restaurants sind gar nicht drin.

A very nice atmosphere awaits you here with extremely delicious food at high prices. We felt very comfortable and had a very high quality meal. We were here during the week and there were a few tables occupied, we got one of the last seats, so there's no reason not to make a reservation to make sure you get a seat ;) The menu was very individual and we were impressed by the regional meat and the side dishes were also great! Elegant, perfect atmosphere and absolutely incredible food. Easy to park on the verge of the park. The service was exemplary. Thoroughly recommend.

Exzellente kleine Mittagskarte. Zum Beispiel eine Lasagne aus Lachs und Kabeljau, köstlich gewürzt. Am „Offenen Hauswein“ erkennt man bekanntlich ein gutes Restaurant, das Gero ist ein solches!

Ausgezeichnetes Essen, perfekt zubereitet und optisch ansprechend, Service bestens, Preis-Leistung stimmt, kann ich jedem anspruchsvollen Gaumen empfehlen

Wir haben super gegessen. Rindertatar, Muscheln, Garneelen, kleine Rinderschnitzelchen. Weinauswahl sehr gut. Schönes Ambiente. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Das war ein gelungener Abend. Spontan zum Abendessen. Ohne Reservierung. Man hat es möglich gemacht und wir haben noch mit 3 Personen Platz bekommen. Sehr freundlicher Service. Speisen waren sehr gut. Gute Karte. Ich empfehle dieses Restaurant.

Das Essen war durchweg ausgezeichnet und die Kellner sehr aufmerksam. Preislich sicherlich nicht günstig aber durchaus das Geld wert. Ambiente ist durch das Fehlen von Vorhängen oder Teppichen auf der lauteren Seite aber nicht so sehr dass es störend wäre. Unterhaltungen sind ohne Problem möglich. Sehr schöne Lage, wer mit dem Auto kommt sollte jedoch ein gewisses Zeitpolster zur Parkplatzsuche einplanen.

Einmalige Küche, super netter Service, machen ihre Tätigkeit offensichtlich mit Freude, sehr gute Weine und die Preise sind vollkommen berechtigt. Werden sicher noch sehr oft dort sein. OK

Parkplatz schwierig, Essen hat eine gute Qualität. Das Hüftsteak war zu roh, hat keiner bei der Bestellung gefragt, Mein Enkel wollte sich nicht beschweren. Habe noch nicht erlebt, dass ein Hüftsteak ohne Wunsch rare geliefert wird ist mir neu. Na gut. Alles ok aber mehr nicht

Das Gero, eine feine Brasserie am Geropark, ist mehr als nur einen Besuch wert. Eine lauschig- romantische Außenterrasse mit Mittagssonne lässt schon die erste Urlaubsstimmung aufkommen. Vor allem am Freitag. Die Mittagskarte ist kurz und gediegen, preislich absolut in Ordnung und wechselt auch öfter, so dass niemals Langeweile entstehen kann. Der jeweilige Hauswein ist immer köstlich. Perfekter, unaufgeregter Service - man merkt rundherum, dass hier alles stimmt, alle liebevollen Details bis zu den frischen Blümchen auf den Tischen. Schon jetzt bin ich total entspannt. Das Amuse-Gueule ist sehr lecker. Und die Hauptspeise, heute rote Pasta mit grünem Frühlingsgemüse, grünem Spargel, Bohnen und Erbsen, kurz angebraten , ein wenig Parmiggiano, bestes Olivenöl - ich fühle mich wie im Urlaub! Herrlich. Übrigens sind auch alle Fleischgerichte köstlich. Vor allem das Wild aus der Eifel.

Diese Brasserie hält das Niveau. Der Service: Aufmerksam, ohne aufdringlich zu sein, dazu sehr nett. Das Essen: Jederzeit Musik für den Gaumen! Tolle geschmackliche Zusammenstellungen. Egal, was wir dort bisher gegessen haben, es war delikat.
