Gecko-Torhaus in Oberhausen

A small restaurant with good pizzas. The ambiance is very interesting, but it still has a lot of potential. It's obvious that they don't have enough storage space; you can see Metro glass cartons, carbonated drinks bottles, etc. in many corners. We found that a real shame. Luckily, we had enough cash with us, as card payments aren't accepted at the moment.

Super good pizza, a mega-good Insalata Mista, I don't need anything more to be happy! Thanks to the great pizza maker. And THANKS to the entire team!! The boss and his service are great!! I've loved the Gecko Torhaus for about 20 years anyway. 😍😄😘👍 Keep it up, we always love coming back, because of the Gecko Torhaus and also because of the good pizza and other things.

The best pizza I've eaten in Germany

Now that the chef has changed, the food is truly delicious. The service is good and friendly. A lovely time in a cozy beer garden atmosphere!

Basically, yes. I was there for a privately organized event. Plenty of free parking is available. Anyone who wants to can also enjoy a cold drink in the beer garden.

Very friendly and attentive service. The restaurant is beautifully located, and the menu is very diverse. The quality of the pizzas was decent—solid in taste, though not outstanding. Unfortunately, the experience with the Kulinaris Card was less positive: Although it was already mentioned when making the reservation, some confusion arose when paying, which tarnished the overall impression.

Very nice ambiance, both inside and out. Incredibly friendly staff and very accommodating to guests. The Italian cuisine tastes excellent.

We used the delivery service. It's best to give the number for the food directly. Half an hour after ordering, the phone rang. The employee was super nice. The pizza was delicious and the calzone was also great. Everything was delivered piping hot. At first I thought the dough had risen, but no, the thing was full to the brim! There's a lot in and out of it. The filled pizza rolls are also great. We thought the ham was placed on top of the pizza like a star was very funny. All in all, we highly recommend the delivery service.

Finally, a good delivery service in Osterfeld! We ordered for the first time yesterday and were thrilled. It was super delicious and everything was freshly prepared. Thank you for the bonus salad! You've won us new regular customers.

I didn't like it that much and wouldn't visit the restaurant again. It was very dark, there was only one toilet for women and one for men at big celebrations. There was a queue. There was smoking behind the counter.

I've been there several times for private parties, but I've finally made it there in a normal restaurant setting. The parties were always great. Both the food and the service. The atmosphere is Ruhrpott. The pasta was very tasty. The service good. It was a bit cool in the rooms & there was no greeting from the house... hence one point less. It wasn't the last time I was there!

Once and never again. Pizza overpriced and the base was totally hard and burnt. Looked more like a pimped frozen margarita. The service staff was very friendly, but completely overwhelmed as she probably didn't receive any proper instructions. There is smoking in the pub, ashtrays for what. No, no

Were there with several people for a St. Nicholas celebration. The restaurant is more of a pub, which is cozy and has plenty of parking. The service was a little overwhelmed, probably due to the number of people. But they tried hard. Now about the food. Some had aoli ​​with bread, which was probably really good. Others and I also had pizza, which was more of a souped-up ready-made pizza. And overpriced for that. I was full and I was able to eat it. However, if you mainly want to eat pizza, you should eat somewhere else. I can't say anything about the other dishes. What bothered me, however. I think it was the owner. He was standing at a bar table with some guests and some of them and himself were smoking. So inside the restaurant. Then he blatantly made out with a lady. He really wanted to do this, but none of us found it appropriate.

The ambience was great. Small cozy bar/pub. We were there with a good 20 people for the regulars' table. Service, disaster. Ordered non-alcoholic beer and the waitress put her nose in to smell whether it was non-alcoholic. Ordering food was very difficult. Serving wasn't any better. The pasta dishes are probably quite good. Definitely not the pizzas. Burnt in places, the ground very hard. Taste went so far. On my pizza there were 4 small slices of salami, for €1 + a few onion rings and for €2.50 + a few mushroom slices.

We were here with almost 50 people. Nice location in the context of an old mine. Great host, super friendly and attentive staff. In-house catering for birthdays (e.g. the spinach lasagne is great). Great tapas, pizza and other delicacies outside of closed groups. We always like to come.

It seems a bit chaotic inside. But the staff is friendly and has a sense of humor. Our food (pizza with spinach and feta, currywurst fries and Capriccosa salad) was very tasty. It's not exactly cheap, but it just fits into the price structure in mid-2024.

Ambience is a problem on the mostly asphalted area, but the beach area makes up for it. Otherwise a wonderful piece of Ruhrpott next to the winding tower. Nice crowd and, as always, good food and fresh Stauder. We always enjoy coming back, even if far too rarely.

Food is not good at all. Steak tastes like the sole of a shoe and the pizza couldn't be cut despite using a steak knife. The dough was so hard. We had hoped for more. Not worth a visit

We were in the “Gecko” for the first time a few days ago. A very nice location in a very old building. We ate pasta and pizza there and were very satisfied. Everything was delicious and also reasonably priced. It was a lovely evening in a great atmosphere. We will definitely come back again.

We visited the Gecko for the first time on Thursday from Düsseldorf. The service was so friendly and attentive that you unfortunately rarely experience it in restaurants these days. The location is beautifully furnished in a cozy atmosphere and is a mixture of restaurant, bistro and bar. The owner cooks himself in an open kitchen with fresh ingredients and it tasted so delicious. From the starter to the main course, including wine recommendations and drinks, everything came together. The boss also came to the table personally and greeted his guests. An absolutely successful evening in all areas. Sasha K.

Were there for the first time on Friday. The voucher book inspired us to visit this restaurant. We were completely thrilled. The restaurant does justice to the location in which it is located. Friendly owner who knows how to serve his guests well. Fair price-performance ratio.

The kitchen was closed early and there were no cold dishes or sandwiches. The drinks are not provided to the guest with the emblem. Overall the visit was disappointing, maybe it will be better next time. August 2023

Schöne location und herzliche Gastgeber, für ein Bier oder einen kleinen Snack gut, darum die 3 Sterne. Das Essen war leider richtig schlecht. Die Pizza hatte einen labrigen Teig, der nur marginal besser als der einer Tiefkühlpizza war und die Tappas waren ebenfalls nicht der Rede wert.

Tolle Atmosphäre, meeegaaa leckere steinofen Pizza 🍕 die anderen Gerichte der anderen Gäste sahen auch sehr schmackhaft aus 😄

Ich kann mich den vorherigen Bewertungen überhaupt nicht anschließen. Ich war mit meiner Frau am 09.03 vor Ort. Vorweg hatten wir Aioli mit Brot und waren sehr zufrieden. Als Hauptgang hatten wir beide ein Nudelgericht. Eins war leckerer als das andere. Der Service war sehr nett und zuvorkommend und insgesamt ein sehr schönes Ambiente. Wir kommen wieder😀

Ich war jetzt 2x sonntags bei den 'Sonntagsvespen ' im Gecko Torhaus. Das Team ist sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Die Getränke sind top kredenzt und die Preise moderat. Ich werde zeitnah dort zum Essen einkehren , da dort auch im größeren Stil BBQ angeboten wird . Liebe Grüße ans Team , macht weiter so!!!! .

Wir waren sehr zufrieden 😊 aufgrund von Corona mussten wir unsere Hochzeit zweimal verschieben und es hat endlich geklappt. Preis-Leistung ist sehr gut, die Location ist sehr schön 🥰 das Essen war super und das Ambiente auch

Innen tolles Ambiente, draußen im Biergarten der Blick auf Förderturm und Olga Park. Waren 21/22 mehrmals zu verschiedenen Zeiten und Tagen da und haben uns immer wohl gefühlt. Keine unpersönliche Massenabfertigung. Eine Gastronomie mit Charakter und einem sympathischen Inhaber. Immer wieder gerne!

Gemütlich mit 'nem Bierchen in der Sonne sitzen und dann gut essen. Super.

Bedienung Klasse. Bissl Laute Musik. Da kann man nix für, das die Heizung kaputt ist . Essen war gut.

Top,hier passt alles, von der Location angefangen, Service, Essen,Musik, der Chef selber. Macht weiter so.
