I visited Gecco for the third time yesterday to celebrate my little brother's birthday and I finally have to write a review for this fantastic restaurant. The atmosphere is stylish and cozy at the same time. The menu is diverse, with a creative selection of vegetarian dishes! Both the drinks and the food have consistently impressed me with their deliciousness. But what I especially want to highlight is the excellent service. The waitress who served us did an outstanding job! She was attentive, quick, friendly, and always gave us great advice. I have rarely experienced such good service. Thank you so much, we'll definitely be back! :)

Wir haben den Besuch und Essen und Trinken im Gecco sehr genossen. Auch unser Wunsch, in einer ruhigen Ecke zu sitzen, wurde berücksichtigt. Sehr sufmerksamer, freundlicher Service. Das Essen war lecker und jeden Euro wert.

There were four of us there in the evening. Every square meter of space was used; the seating was very cramped, and yet we could barely hear each other. The service was very friendly. The price-performance ratio was absolutely outrageous. The appetizer: eight small half-slices of bread, two packets of butter, and a few olives for €8.50, plus tasteless chips, four pepperoni, and a few slices of ham for over €13. The burgers were okay, nothing special. The side dish was an extra €6.50; the potato slices tasted of nothing and seemed to have been fried three times. The dessert prices were also far too high for what was essentially a cookie. Tasty, but not worth the price. Drinks could only be ordered via several QR codes. Annoying if you just want to put your phone away for an evening. All in all, it was okay, but not worth a return visit.

Last weekend, I went there for dinner with former colleagues and for a moment I wasn't sure if I'd accidentally ended up in Munich… The ambiance and service were impeccable, but the price/performance ratio didn't really add up, despite the central location in Nordhorn. A colleague and I ordered the surf and turf for a hefty €46, and what we received was a small beef fillet and three prawns that were truly nothing special… Not mentioning the weight of this dish on the menu was obviously clever, as we wouldn't have ordered it otherwise. In conclusion: It was actually a nice evening, but it's a shame that for around €60 (including the appetizer) you don't even come close to feeling full.

Highly recommended, good food and a nice atmosphere.

I only visited the winter village briefly and had a mulled wine or two, but the atmosphere was absolutely wonderful. We'll definitely come back for a meal sometime.

Wiedermal haben wir hervorragend gegessen und in einem wunderschön, weihnachlich gestalteten Ambiente mit unseren Freunden den Abend verbracht! Auch einen großen Dank an das kompetente Serviceteam, das immer ein offenes Ohr für Wünsche und Fragen hat. Fazit: Ein rundum gelungener Abend! Vielen Dank dafür!

Sometimes you stumble upon a place by chance. And that's what it is: the incredibly hospitable service, with tips, humor, and attentiveness. The atmosphere, the location, everything was perfect, and don't forget to order the steak...you won't find anything better. Trust me.

Gecco ist jedesmal ein Highlight. Tolles Essen aus allen Ecken der Welt was dabei. Service ist aufmerksam und tolles Ambiente, kleiner Kritikpunkt etwas zu spärlich beleuchtet. Ich würde mir Suppen als Vorspeise wünschen aber das ist meckern auf hohem Niveau. Eines der besten Restaurants, wir kommen jederzeit wieder.

The food was fantastic. The kitchen staff are truly artists. The service staff is competent, friendly, and extremely attentive. We were there a second time within a week. It was fantastic again. The whiskey sour was outstanding. I was able to watch the kitchen staff at work on the second evening. It was so organized and calm, despite the amount of food.

Wir wollten gestern im Gecco eigentlich nur eine Kleinigkeit essen, haben aber dann die "Oktoberfest-Karte" entdeckt und konnten nicht widerstehen. Also dann ran an die Buletten...und zwar im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes. Meine Frau bestellte das Kalbschnitzel, ich die Fleischküchle, oder wie ich sie lieber nenne, Fleischpflanzerl. Meine Frau sagt es war "die zarteste Versuchung seit es Schnitzel gibt"...meine Pflanzerl waren wie bei Muttern zuhause, saftig und perfekt gewürzt. Zum Schnitzel gabs kleine Bratkartoffelwürfel und Popcorn (warum auch immer?) und zu den Pflanzerl gabs ein cremiges Pürree mit einer leckeren Braten-Speck-Sauce. Alles natürlich inklusive einem Oktoberfestbier, versteht sich. Fazit: Für uns kann es im Gecco gerne das ganze Jahr über Oktoberfest geben! ;)

We really enjoyed it; friendly, good service, very tasty food, and exceptional dishes, desserts, cocktails, and lemonades.

The restaurant's ambiance is truly top-notch. The seating is very pleasant and you can really enjoy the city park. What really matters to me, however, is the value for money. The food isn't exactly flawless, and the portions aren't particularly large, and the price is quite high. Especially with children, it's quite difficult to find something the kids like and at a reasonable price. We were quite disappointed. What I do find a shame is that the side dishes for the burger cost extra. The side dish itself was quite expensive.

Wir hatten bei der Reservierung angegeben das wir bei schönem Wetter gerne draußen sitzen möchten. Dies wurde nicht wirklich mit bedacht . Als wir gekommen sind und gesagt haben das wir gerne draußen sitzen möchten, wurde unser Wunsch zwar erfüllt, allerdings nicht wie erwartete auf der Terrasse. Trotzdem war es ein schöner Abend mit leckerem Essen und tolle Cocktails

Third time I've been here. Always so good. Very pleasant atmosphere. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The terrace is very pleasant at the end of August, even in the evening. Fully integrated into the park, just perfect.

Wir haben aufgrund des tollen Ambiente einen Besuch riskiert und mussten leider feststellen, das Ambiente alleine nicht reicht um kulinarisch zu überzeugen. Die jungen Damen die uns bewirtet haben waren sehr freundlich. Leider was das Essen alles andere als gut. Der Grillteller war einfach frech. Für 29€ drei kl. Fleischspeise, ein Löffel Sosse, und ein paar Kartoffelhälften mit Baby Leave Salat der auf dem warmen Teller serviert wurde, also bitte, Salat auf warmen Teller! Gar nicht schön. Das Fleisch was tot gebraten und nur mit viel Sosse genießbar die uns aber auch nachgebracht wurde.

We were disappointed at our favorite restaurant (where we are regulars). The cocktails were served quickly. We wanted to order appetizers. No one came to our table to ask if we wanted anything else. My husband and I sat there with empty glasses for about 15 minutes. Then we decided to leave and try another restaurant on Friday night. Would I visit your restaurant again now? The ambiance is unbeatable, especially when the weather is great on the terrace, you feel like you're on vacation. The service was good, and the waitresses were friendly. The food was very tasty, but unfortunately not really hot—more like microwaved. The portions were just manageable.

I was there last night (Saturday) with a friend, and the service was really friendly and excellent. The staff was very nice and the food was incredibly delicious. We really enjoyed it and will definitely be back.

A nice place with a small parking lot. I had a Franz-Jozef grill counter. The pork was very dry and tasteless. The steaks were way overcooked. The vegetables and potatoes were fine. The chicken was tasty. All in all, way too expensive for what you get. It was "okay." I'm unlikely to go back.

Four of us reserved a table this weekend. Despite the busy schedule, the service was very friendly and attentive. The food was truly delicious, and the portions were generous. Afterwards, we enjoyed a few drinks. We had a wonderful evening, thank you so much!

There's a huge selection of beers, and that really makes me happy. I'd love to come back and try something new.

Overcooked noodles were drowned in a mushy sauce with a disgusting taste of instant powder. The chanterelles didn't stand a chance. Unfortunately, we ate a third of it anyway, which left my sister and me with extremely upset stomachs. Never again. The place is also loud and crowded. Even the friendly service couldn't change that.

Als jemand, die oft und gerne im Gecco ist, kann ich immer wieder sagen, dass jeder Besuch eine wunderbare und erholsame Auszeit vom Alltag ist: leckeres, vielfältiges Essen, vegetarische und vegane Speisen, interessante Gerichte: Nach der grandiosen Spargelkarte nun eine umfangreiche Pfifferlingskarte, passend zur Saison - für jeden Geschmack ist etwas dabei. Dazu gibt's eine große und abwechslungsreiche Getränkekarte! Alle Servicekräfte sind freundlich, geduldig, zuvorkommend, aufmerksam. Besonders Conny mit ihrer herzlichen und humorvollen Art vermittelt Freude an ihrer Arbeit und ist immer für ein kurzes freundliches Gespräch bereit. Das Ambiente innen wie außen ist gemütlich und besonders der Terrassenbereich mit Markise lädt im Sommer bei jedem Wetter zum Besuch ein. Macht alle weiter so! Danke an das Team vom Gecco!

A very delicious meal with excellent service and a truly beautiful setting. Overall, I highly recommend it. I'd like to say to the previous speakers that tastes differ, of course, but the prices are well calculated and certainly not excessive; those of us who work for employers will certainly understand that. I'm glad for every restaurant that exists.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und preislich angemessen. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und unaufdringlich.

Great place with a terrace that leads directly into a park. Very attentive staff, great food, and a pleasant, quiet atmosphere on the terrace.

The price-performance ratio here is completely out of whack. A burger, with a flabby bun, quite modest, costs 14 euros, a side of potatoes is another 6.50, and a glass of 0.4 liter lemonade costs 6.90. You're also paying for the beautiful location in the city park.

Ox Knolle was nice and hearty, forgot to take pictures of other dishes. In general, food menu consisted of many international dishes, yet none of the many dishes we ordered dissapointed.

Delicious tacos and vegetarian thai curry! Super nice, had the table set up as birthday surprise for my husband. They charged my phone for me also. Also had selection on the menu for kids. Playground outside for kids to play while waiting for food. Very nice experience.

Het was lekker maar kleine porties. Wel een heel mooie setting in het park . Ik heb chicken alfredo gegeten, tagliatelle met kip in roomsaus. Mijn man andere spaghetti met scampi met look, de pasta was nog hard. Bediening heel vriendelijk en vlug bediend

Das Essen war wenig, teuer und zb alte harte Nudeln im Gericht . Schmeckte zerkocht und oft aufgewärmt . Traurig, war schon 2 mal da und fand es nett. Leider ist es nur noch teuer & hat nette Damen im Service

Leider kann ich mich den Vorredner hier mit meiner Meinung nicht anschließen Wurde mit den Worten begrüßt Küche schließt in 30 Minuten Kein Hallo einfach von oben herab. Wieso werden Tische zugewiesen wenn ich mir meinen Tisch dann doch selber aussuchen muss. Weiterer Kritikpunkt wenn ich einen Tisch zum Jahrestag buche wieso ist dieser nicht eingedeckt und/ oder dekoriert? Essen kam schnell meiner Meinung nach zu schnell hier wird auf Gutdünken vorgekocht der Kunde wird es schon so nehmen… Service wurde nicht besser hatte etwas von der Currywurstbude in Berlin hier gehört der schnippische Unterton auch zum Ambiente. Für 80 Euro mit zwei Personen ohne Vorspeise und Alkoholischen Getränken wurden wir nicht satt. Meine Begleitung und ich haben bewusst Gerichte von der Saisonalen Karte bestellt. Essen war nicht auf Restaurant Standard hier wird gerne mit dem seligen Gewürz des Lebensmittelchemikers nachgeholfen. Insgesamt sehr enttäuschend Keine Empfehlung wer Stress mit seiner liebsten will geht hier essen.

Everything was very good, from the food to the service and everything around it. The terrace hadn't been set up yet because of the freezing temperatures, there were only a few smokers but if the weather was nice I think you could sit there nicely in the evening. The name of the restaurant corresponds to the design of the restaurant. That was my meal: steak strips with pasta in a truffle cream sauce and buffalo mozzarella.

Tokyo Beef Sando is simply top - absolute recommendation

Heute hatten wir bereits unseren zweiten Besuch und sind begeistert. Wir wurden schon mit einem Lächeln begrüßt und bekamen den Tisch vom ersten Besuch angewiesen. Wir wurden überaus freundlich bedient. Caprese 2000 von der Spargelkarte kann ich wärmstens empfehlen. Tigertomate auf Feldsalat und darüber gebratener grüner und weisser Spargel. Buratta und eine cremige Sosse mit Bärlauch in die man herrlich das knusprige Brot tauchen konnte. Dazu einen fruchtigen Weißwein. Das Restaurant war sehr gut besucht, der Service war trotzdem sehr aufmerksam, dabei jedoch unaufdringlich, und die Atmosphäre war gemütlich. Einfach weiter so.

Sehr freundlicher Empfang, es wurde sich sehr gut um uns und unseren Hund gekümmert. Aufgrund der Reservierung mit Hund wurde uns ein ruhiger Tisch zugeteilt an dem der Hund gut und ungestört liegen konnte. Es wurde sofort und ungefragt ein Wassernapf für den Hund gebracht. Auf Nachfrage zu den vielen angebotenen Biersorten vom Fass wurden wir freundlich und sehr fachkundig beraten und waren im Anschluss auch mit unserer Bestellung sehr zufrieden. Das Essen entsprach vollkommen unseren Erwartungen und war sehr schmackhaft. Der Service und die Küche sind ausgezeichnet organisiert und auch die Nachspeise "Tiramisu für zwei " war frisch und selbst hergestellt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Four of us ate at Gecco. There is nothing to complain about in terms of service and ambience. One of the best locations that Nordhorn has to offer, especially in summer, especially for sitting outside. Now to eat. That wasn't exhilarating. So starters there was bread vs butter. The bread tasted old and was very tough (it would have been better to put it back in the oven or something), the butter was too hard (wait 5 minutes, then it worked) so the main course was Chicken Alfredo, the taste was okay. The noodles were only lukewarm and the chicken was very dry. The portion for this price (€22) is far too small. Next time I'll probably eat somewhere else beforehand and just enjoy the drinks at Gecco.

Zur Zeit gibt es eine saisonale Spargelkarte mit einer großen Auswahl an interessanten und sehr leckeren Spargelgerichten, sehr zu empfehlen! Wie immer ein sehr nettes Team im Service, schönes Ambiente und gemeinsame Stunden im Gecco bei Weinschorle, Spargel und Dessert! Wir kommen immer wieder und denken bereits über die nächste Reservierung um Ostern herum nach! Danke!

After years, unfortunately a star is deducted for the price-performance ratio that has gotten out of hand. Very expensive these days and portions are getting smaller and smaller. But since I'm not alone with this perception, and I hear it almost every time from friends and acquaintances, I actually have to ask myself whether we might want to avoid it in the future. Too bad. The ambience is great and the food is delicious. But cheap, filling side dishes such as a few more fries or a few slices of baguette should not become a luxury item.

Finally a restaurant that makes you completely happy! We're still fairly recent movers and tried out a few restaurants and were mostly disappointed. The four of us were at Gecco last night: imaginative menu! Drinks menu extensive, aperitif great, cocktails varied and a good selection of wines. My husband had a Corona on tap and was super satisfied. Service friendly and competent! The starter bread was delicious and fresh. All 4 main courses were on point and very tasty! For dessert my son had to fight with the tiramisu, divine and took the rest home. Here you can enjoy a nice atmosphere, i.e. the location with outside area is very good! We can highly recommend Gecco!

Service top, geschmacklich gut. Aber wegen der offenen Küche war zu erkennen , dass sämtliche Speisen eingefroren waren und nur im Konvektomaten aufgewärmt wurden. Also gar nichts wurde frisch zubereitet… Dann brauche ich nicht essen zu gehen…

From the moment you enter the restaurant you are on a culinary journey, the service is courteous and caring but not intrusive in any way. The food, from the bread as a starter to the main course and dessert, is simply fantastic! The selection of drinks and the wine list are more than plentiful and unusual and everyone will find something that suits their taste. I will come back here as often as possible because this restaurant was completely convincing from A to Z.

Getränke und Essen wurden recht schnell gebracht. Cocktail hat gut geschmeckt. Preise sind angemessen. Kellnerin schaute öfters vorbei ob noch was gebraucht wird.

Great service and deliciously prepared food

I had dinner at Gecco yesterday and unfortunately I have to say it has gone down a lot. The prices were high which is ok if the food was perfect. As a starter I had house bread with French sea salt butter. The bread was dry and tasted old. The sea salt butter was very hard and packed. I had the starter returned for a good €10, extremely expensive and not tasty. For the main course I had 5 wild-caught shrimps for 24€ and again the extremely dry bread (one slice), plus there were two mini bowls of dip and mango chutney. The shrimp were good but nothing special. If I had ordered the dish maybe three times, I might have been able to get enough. I suggested to the waitress that we could have the dish written down as a starter, but the nice criticism wasn't well received. For some it's enough and for some it's not the answer. I was eating with three other people. Everyone wasn't happy. We won't eat there again.

Very, very tasty food and high quality. It's not cheap and the portions aren't generous. You have to want to afford good food.

We often go to Gecco and have been satisfied every time - from fish to various pasta dishes to burgers. Gecco also offers an excellent cocktail and aperitif menu.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Preise dafür absolut angemessen 👍 Der Service war sehr sehr aufmerksam und alle Kellner:innen waren sehr aufmerksam und freundlich! Wir waren an einem Samstagabend zur Hauptzeit da und trotzdem kam das Essen schnell und qualitativ gut bei uns am Tisch an, wir haben uns sehr wohl Gefühlt!

Es war wie immer ein sehr schöner Abend. Das Essen war super lecker und die Bedienung (Sabine)war spitze. Leider gibt es immer noch keinen Alkoholfreien Wein. Was ich sehr schade finde.

First of all I would like to praise the service. Rarely have I seen such a nice and courteous waitress. The food was also very tasty. The journey from Gronau is definitely worth it. We'd love to come back.

The food is delicious, the service is very nice, the place is very chic but a bit dark. BUT the kitchen closes at 9pm on Saturday night…..? !? If you come late, you won't get dessert🤬

Restaurant Gecco was very disappointing. First received a wrong menu, then a menu with other dishes (B choice?). We had a package. The food was bland (tasteless) and very greasy (snitzel and potatoes). Dessert was basic. We mentioned this but were only told she was sorry (es tut mir leid). We are quite easy with food, but this food was really not okay, as was the reaction we received. Very disappointing.
