Just always a secret. Spessbrore and radish salad, what more do you need to be happy? Ok, a Kirner Pils with it! The lasagna was perfect too! And for dessert a delicious nut-chocolate-cherry cake. It was great and delicious again

Very friendly boss, everything is very child-friendly, plus delicious food

Despite the large group (there were 60 of us), we were able to eat à la carte. The meat, vegetables and salads were freshly prepared. The portions were absolutely sufficient. There was also a large selection of drinks. In the summer you can sit outside with a view of the pond. A reservation is also recommended during the week.

Unfriendly! We should please take a seat outside! Inside, everything was free except for one table! After I had persuaded my wife to "stay" and sit outside, despite the fresh weather, the waiter was so overwhelmed with the question of a children's chair that he didn't even come back! After about 1 minute we went somewhere else!

A good address for a nice evening. The food is beautifully prepared and very tasty. The stuffed dumplings are huge, so you have to have them several times because you're happy to have the leftovers wrapped up. The spit roast had real fire and was wonderfully juicy, so it wasn't fried dry. With the potatoes and the herb curd it's a real treat, just the way you want it. The staff is friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. The timing of the dishes is great. Dishes with different cooking times were also brought to the table at the same time, so that you can eat together with several people. The service team took great care of the entire restaurant and outside tables without causing any rush. And every order was implemented promptly. As mentioned at the beginning, it was a lovely evening with great service.

We were warmly welcomed and although everything was reserved, we were allowed to sit down for a moment and enjoy a hot drink. The staff were very friendly. Next time we'll make a reservation and stay for dinner!

After a trip to the gemstone mine, we found super friendly staff, delicious food and a nice restaurant with a playground. We had a great stay and would love to come back on our next trip to Idar Oberstein.

I'm thrilled - I discovered a clue more or less by chance when visiting Steinkaulenberg. Staff very friendly - boss too - they take care of the guests directly, even when there is a lot going on. My Obersteiner spit roast fresh from the open fire. Perfectly grilled and delicious - I would have loved to lick the plate. Radish salad homemade and delicious. My wife's currywurst with very good sauce. Was also very good. We were completely satisfied and would like to come again, even if it is a 1.5 hour drive.

We were there in the evening with our dog and it was very nice. We were asked which place would be best for us with a dog. He also got water. The food was super tasty, grilled. The meat is tender and the side dish is plentiful and tasty. Gladly again!

The food was very good and fresh! You could regularly hear the schnitzel being pounded :) The breading of the schnitzel was nice and crispy and the schnitzel wasn't too thick and nice and tender. The stuffed dumpling is also highly recommended and you can't say anything about the price! We'd love to come back!

Unfortunately only one star, the atmosphere was really nice. We personally asked if we could still make a reservation for this evening. The young lady, who barely managed to look up, just said she didn't have anything free left. A table might be free at a later date, so we could call. Gave us the business card with the announcement that no one would probably answer it anyway. Super unprofessional, we would have come at a later date. It was not possible to ask that at all. Sad. You will never have us as guests.

Had this huge dumpling with a ham and cream sauce. The taste was good (a dumpling with minced meat filling) 👍🏻 but hardly manageable for one person. The waiting time of 45 minutes was just okay.

Juice shop. The boss was totally unfriendly, quickly became aggressive, almost physically violent towards his customers and you couldn't make excuses to describe the problem. Food was burnt dough raw, salmonella inevitable.

Food was very tasty. However, the staff differentiates strongly between regular customers and first-time visitors. This is not very kind to the latter. No one asked for more drinks, let alone came to the table. They brought the applesauce with the dumpling 30 minutes before the main meal, so that logically all the wasps in the area were present during the meal.

This afternoon we were guests of Thomas at the Weiherschleife. We bridged the short waiting time with a cold hop bowl at the counter outside.🍻 Only a short time later the very friendly service staff assigned a table on the terrace. After a long browse through a varied menu, we decided on the Lendsche (pork fillet 350 gr.)🤣 and an entrecote (300 gr.). Guys, what we were served was just amazing!!! 2 pieces of meat, superbly marinated and fried to perfection. Plus a hearty radish salad and grumbire (potatoes). If you want to eat very well, want a nice atmosphere with courteous, friendly staff, then you've come to the right place. I was there today with a friend and everything was just right, the food was excellent, as was the service and the ambience. I will definitely come here more often.

From the motorhome site straight to the Weierschleife for dinner. Very busy and without reservations, oh well. We still got a nice place. The staff was very attentive and accommodating. The regional dishes are very tasty and freshly prepared. Good price/performance ratio. A nice boss who also likes to talk to his guests. We will definitely be guests in the Weierschleife again next time we visit.

We were pleasantly surprised. We had different dishes and all of them were hot, tasty and tasted very good. The price is absolutely right and the girls have put a lot of effort into making sure you feel completely looked after. Even with a dog you are welcome. If we were ever in the city again, we would definitely stop there again! P.S. The dumpling is big - don't anticipate an appetizer 😅

Very good food, very friendly staff

Food was ok but nothing special, the sauces for the schnitzel tasted like they were made with ready-made sauces and the meatball was completely over salted. By that I don't mean too salty, but actually so salty that an hour later the flora in your mouth felt completely strange. It can happen that you make a mistake when seasoning, but here we were dealing with 'oh dear, I dropped the whole can of salt instead of a spoon, but it doesn't matter'. Otherwise, service was nice, selection ok, price ok.

Everything goes well here, great grilled pork fillet, salad with spit roast strips, super tasty. Great portions and very attentive service, as well as the boss. Keep it up, we'll keep coming back. There is a motorhome parking space in the immediate vicinity, which is highly recommended.

Unser persönliches Highlight: auf dem Weg aus dem Restaurant heraus, trafen wir die Metzgerin, die das Restaurant beliefert und die uns voller Begeisterung erzählt hat, dass bei ihr nur regionales Fleisch aus eigener Schlachtung verarbeitet wird. Eine echte Empfehlung!

The manager of the restaurant is a very pleasant guy, always has a smile on his face, the food was great. There is a small map and all sorts of things next to the map. The restaurant's motto is: "come as a guest and leave as a friend" and that's true in every respect. A great shop!

We were there spontaneously, me with my son and grandpa. The staff was attentive and quick, even though everything was fully booked. I ordered the pork fillet and I have to say it was excellent, the taste from the grill was fantastic! You can easily do without the side dish “salad” in the portion. Super delicious food at a fair price. The service was super nice and I can only recommend it. The view is also quite nice and there is a small playground for the children.

We drove 100 km today to try the spit roast. Was recommended to us by the Donsbach family from Herstein. And I have to say that everything was right, starting with the reception, the friendly service, the beautiful ambience by the pond, the price-performance ratio and the super delicious food - nothing was out of the box. Next time I'll try the stuffed dumpling, it looked delicious. Great team, I hope the boss appreciates it. Keep it up.

If you like meat, this is really good. The menu is manageable but the spit roast we were there for was good. The schnitzel was actually one of the best I've tried so far. Not the usual TK uniformity like at other tourist spots. The price is also surprisingly good, a large pilsner for under 4 euros is unbeatable.

We were in the area for 4 weeks and discovered this restaurant. On our first visit, my daughter asked if she could get her schnitzel with hollandaise sauce and 2 dumplings instead of fries. This was confirmed after a short consultation with the kitchen and the boss. Apart from the fact that they put her favorite meal on the table for my daughter, it was so incredibly good and tasty that my daughter immediately voted it the best restaurant in the area. :) I had the Jägerschnitzel myself that evening and could only agree with my daughter's opinion. The food was just really good. On our second visit I had the beef rump from the grill and my daughter...well, schnitzel with hollandaise sauce and dumplings, what else. The rump was by far the best thing I've eaten to date. The beech wood taste on the meat was sensational. On our third visit I had the spit roast from the grill and my daughter... well, you can guess three times... :) I wasn't disappointed again. The food was and is simply delicious here. The service was always super friendly and courteous and the owner is also a super nice guy. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely visit again.
