Restaurant with panoramic views! Restaurant located on a hilltop in the small village of Steigerts, a district of the municipality of Seeheim-Jugenheim on Bergstrasse. The restaurant is exposed on a large slope and offers its guests a fantastic panoramic view of the Odenwald above Oberbeerbach. The dining rooms are very comfortably furnished and offer plenty of space. Nevertheless, a reservation is recommended as the restaurant is busy. There is a large sun terrace in front of the restaurant. The good home-style cuisine has something to offer for every hiker, cyclist or other day tripper. You can get “Fish and Ships” as well as “Kochkäs-Schnitzel”, steak or vegetarian cuisine. My cordon bleu with Gruyère cheese was very tasty (also described on the menu here as “Steigerts-Schnitzel”). A fairly extensive wine list or local Darmstadt beer (Grohe beer) complement the good cuisine perfectly. I also give it five points for the very good and super friendly service! TIP: If you cannot climb the stairs to the restaurant entrance, you should use the back entrance from the courtyard. It is barrier-free. Parking spaces for cars, motorcycles and bicycles can be found around the restaurant.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is very friendly, the food is delicious, the service is very nice. I would be very happy to visit this place again.

***As far as I could see, there is no barrier-free entrance!*** ***Not suitable for vegetarians and vegans or those who are nutritionally conscious!*** I was at Talblick for the first time today. I'm very excited about the prospect. When the weather is good you can see as far as Frankfurt and the surrounding landscape is very beautiful. The service is also very nice and there were no waiting times. The menu, however, wasn't quite my cup of tea. To be honest, I find it rather out of date. There were only two vegetarian dishes. Both of them also had a lot of cheese. For example, the only vegan alternative would have been the simple salad. According to the description on the menu, this really only had salad and sounded very boring and unappealing. Even for people who like to eat consciously, the menu doesn't have much to offer. For people who have just returned from a long hike or bike ride, the dishes may be just right if they eat meat or a lot of cheese. The dishes that I tested with my partner are as follows: as a starter the camembert on salad (mixed), cheese spaetzle and fried potatoes with cooked cheese. The starter was impressive with the mixed salad made from various leaf lettuces and the dressing was also good. The Camembert was breaded finished cheese. I would have hoped for more. There were just 3 thin slices of baguette. The whole thing for around €10. If you added a little more salad and bread, you could sell the whole thing as a main course for maybe €2 more. The cheese spaetzle tasted good. The portion probably would have been too small for other people, especially after a hike, or without an appetizer. The fried potatoes with cooked cheese also tasted good. But the potatoes could have been a little crispier. There was a side salad with the main course. This one wasn't good at all. Too much from the glass or finished product. The coleslaw had its own dressing which didn't go well with the dressing on the rest of the salad. Overall, the food was more ok than just good. Ambience, cleanliness and service were good to very good.

We were there for dinner: Dishes: 1) Starter - Camembert with salad and bread Six small, ready-made camemberts arrived, like you would find in the supermarket freezer, with cranberry sauce. The salad looked freshly prepared and had a pretty decent mustard vinaigrette. Three (in numbers: 3) small slices of baguette were also served. 2) Main dishes - salad prelude The salad that accompanied the main course consisted of ready-made coleslaw (the sweet one from the supermarket, probably not exactly the one from JA! but probably comparable), pre-cut carrots and maybe zucchini (?), also two or three slices of cucumber, a few lost beans from the jar and a few lettuce leaves. The whole thing is served with the finished sauce from a well-known sauce and vinegar manufacturer: lots of sugar and fat. 3) Main courses - cheese spaetzle Very solid and skillfully prepared cheese spaetzle. All around good, here the chef made the most of the resources at his disposal. 4) Main dishes - fried potatoes Solid fried potatoes with lots of cooked cheese. Absolutely delicious. Evaluation: 1) The starter was tasty, but there could have been more salad and a lot more bread. I found it annoying that the actual star, the Camembert, was the supermarket frozen Camembert. You can tell: when you cut into the fist-thick breading, the meager hint of cheese flows out. I know this ready-made product, and as beautifully garnished as it was here, unfortunately it doesn't get any better. The salad was good, and the vinaigrette here seemed like it had at least been customized. Overall grade 2- 2) The salads for the main course were a convenience nightmare. The combination doesn't go well together, we couldn't finish the salads. The pre-cut carrots tasted so terrible in one bite that I had to secretly throw them away in the napkin. I think it's not difficult to prepare a delicious, fresh salad and, above all, to make a side salad yourself in large quantities. Instead, the lettuce leaves are probably just freshly picked. Bad combination, greasy ready-made sauce to mask the taste, pre-cut vegetables (it can always happen that it tastes like rotten, as you are always dependent on the supplier who cuts the things and how cleanly he works - you can see it from the outside not). Lots of room for improvement, this dish gets a grade 5 from me, I'm sorry 3) The cheese spaetzle was excellently crafted. Even if the spaetzle were pre-made (I couldn't judge here) they got the best out of the dish. There are better ones, of course, but this dish is already very good - grade 1- 4) I didn't like the fried potatoes that much; they could have been a little crunchier and less greasy. Cooked cheese potentially standard cooked cheese, but also rock solid. The portion was far too small for a supposedly stand-alone vegetarian main course. My partner and I have different opinions about the taste, overall taste: grade 2, price performance drops it down to a 3 because it's not worth it for the money and the salad isn't a selling point, so: grade 3 We excluded the salad from the rating because otherwise the main courses would have been unfairly included. Overall, despite the friendly service, we didn't feel completely comfortable, I can't say exactly what it was. The view, the location and the ambience as well as the excellent cleanliness are a clear pro argument. However, the food for us as vegetarians is less, the portions are too small overall and there is too much ready-made food. In conclusion, it's a shame that so few of our dishes were fresh and home-made. The salad was a culinary challenge for me personally and I found it very difficult to hide my great disappointment. Otherwise, as vegetarians, we are probably the wrong audience in this otherwise very beautiful place.

Wir kamen um die schöne Aussicht und das gute Essen (Hausmannskost) zu geniessen und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Vorab aber ein Tipp: Sonntagsmittags bei gutem Wetter: Unbedingt reservieren. Sonst kann der spontane Sonntagsspaziergang mit geplanter Einkehr daneben gehen. Es ist nämlich Sonntags Mittags erfahrungsgemäss immer recht voll. Insbesondere natürlich bei gutem Wetter. Die Lage ist abseits des üblichen Durchgangsverkehrs. Wer hier her kommt, der muss wissen, wo er hinfährt. Ansonsten vielleicht spontane Wanderer? Es gibt einen schönen grossen Wanderparkplatz am Waldrand und etwas Parkraum an der Strasse. Ansonsten ist hier die Welt zu Ende. Gut, es fährt ein Bus aber wer weiss, wie oft? Das Lokal hat eine herrliche Terrasse mit Weitblick. Die Speisekarte ist für den Odenwald reichhaltig, die Preise sind moderat. Die Portionen sind gross, die Qualität ist gut. Die Toiletten sind grosszügig. Das Ambiente ist für eine Odenwald-Gaststätte, die meistens zünftig sind und in (ehemaligen) Bauernhäusern sogar recht modern und ordentlich. Wir hatten draussen auf der Terrasse reserviert, aufgrund des Regens mussten wir uns umsetzen, drinnen war aber alles belegt. Der Service war schnell, jung und freundlich. Uns ist aufgefallen, dass entgegen manchen Lokalen in der Stadt hier wirklich viel Personal am Start war. Alle sind durch enorme Freundlichkeit aufgefallen. Ich habe meinen Freunden aus der Stadt das Lokal empfohlen und wir wurden nicht enttäuscht. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt noch im Odenwald. Die Qualität ist gut und ich/wir kommen definitiv wieder. In Zeiten von knappem Personal und gestiegenen Preisen ist solch eine Perle im Odenwald einen Abstecher wert. Auch wenn sie ein Umweg bedeutet und in einer Sackgasse liegt. Das haben aber auch schon mehr Leute erkannt, wie man an den „Auswärtigen“ Nummernschildern der Autos sieht. Ich war schon öfter da und wir kommen definitiv und gerne wieder. Sehr zu empfehlen!

As the name suggests, Café Talblick impresses with its view. It's nice to sit on the terrace, there are plenty of spaces, but parking can be a bit scarce on weekends. Inside it's more rustic. The menu is good and the food tastes good. The service is friendly and attentive. Always worth a trip

Great terrace with a beautiful view towards Frankfurt, wonderful staff - on a summer evening it was quite busy - and everything was organized, no waiting times, very tasty food, and always just the right amount of humor. There were six of us, one of whom was a furry four-legged friend, and we were completely thrilled. Everything, just everything to recommend! (Visited on August 2nd, 2024)

The name is program. A great view of the Frankfurt skyline. There is also down-to-earth German cuisine with very courteous staff. Talblick is also child-friendly. Always my pleasure...

As everywhere, prices have risen considerably. But EUR 5.40 for 0.4 liters of apple spritzer isn't possible. A wheat beer for comparison 4.20 EUR.🤑😤

You can stop here after a nice walk across the Kuralpe. To do this, park at the Gasthof Kuralpe and then take the asphalted path towards Steigerts with a beautiful view over the Odenwald. The path is particularly suitable for trips with children as it is completely suitable for strollers. I was there with my small children and we had a lovely meal. The service is quick and friendly and the prices are good. You can immediately tell that the restaurant is run very attentively and professionally. In summer you can enjoy the beautiful view from the terrace. However, you should reserve a table on weekends. When we spontaneously came in, it was very crowded and we were lucky to find a seat. The children's menu is very well tailored to the tastes of the little ones and at the end there was a bag of gummy bears for everyone. So all three of us walked home full and satisfied. A clear recommendation! We'll definitely come back. Update 2024: View, food and ambience still very good. However, prices have risen sharply.

Went here for a stop during the bike tour, the food was very tasty and the atmosphere was great. The team was also very nice. You could add a little more for children, but otherwise everything is great.

It's a nice tradition to be able to come back here every now and then. The memories of the past (before the renovation) have faded a little, but hopefully the times spent together with the seniors never fade. I also remember the Christmas party in the summer well. How nice that the Talblick Corona survived so well.

We were invited there for communion. The service was very good. But the farmer's schnitzel (cordon bleu) was very dry. There was no sauce or anything else, apart from croquettes. It was quite disappointing

One of my all time favourite places around here. Great for lunch or dinner all year round. We like to walk up from Seeheim but that is maybe not for everyone. The terrace is a wonderful place to hang in the summer with views all the way to frankfurt. But inside is also full of atmosphere. Food is very local with some very hearty meals. The pan cooked meats are all nice.

Top gastronomy with very tasty food and a diverse selection of drinks. And for free there is an outstanding view into the distance such as: Frankfurt skyline.thank you for two lovely hours and we'll be back.

Excellent fish and chips - the batter was beautifully crisp without being overwhelming. The mushy peas were made from fresh peas so not real mushy peas. Real mushy peas are revolting though, and these were actually nice! Service staff very kind and friendly.

Das geht gar nicht! Wir hatten frühzeitig reserviert (3 Tage vor Besuch). 14:00 Uhr, 2 Personen, zum Mittagessen, und wir hatten am Telefon ausdrücklich mitgeteilt, wir sind zeitlich flexibel, ob um 14:00 oder wenn es nicht so gut passt 13:30 oder auch 15:00, wie es für den Betrieb - wenn es voll ist - am Günstigsten ist. Es wurde uns gesagt 14:00 ist gut, wir reservieren ihnen den Tisch. ok. Wir kommen an, 13:57; zugegeben 3 Minuten zu früh, der ausgesucht muffelige Mensch, der wohl die Tische zuweist: "ist noch nicht frei, warten sie." und lässt uns mitten im Lokal stehen. Es wurden dann zwei kleine Tische neu eingedeckt, Hoffnung, aber die waren wohl für andere Gäste vorgesehen. Es ist schon ziemlich peinlich, mitten im Restaurant zu stehen, in Jacken, wie bestellt und nicht abgeholt, wenn man eine Reservierung hat. Unsere Nachfrage nach 10 Minuten dann: haben sie denn nun einen Tisch frei, wird beantwortet: "dauert noch 10 Minuten oder so", keine Entschuldigung, es gibt kein Angebot, sie können zwischenzeitlich hier Platz nehmen und vielleicht schon ein Getränk zu sich nehmen (vielleicht an den immer noch freien zwei kleinen Tischen) ??? GASTLICHEKEIT GEHT ANDERS. Nach weiteren 10 Minuten, haben wir dann dem Menschen, der den Service wohl leitet, mitgeteilt, dass wir nun gehen, Reaktion noch muffeliger: "ja annere kumme halt e mol zu spät" ??? Organisation geht anders, deshalb kann man andere Gäste nicht einfach verprellen oder man muss sich halt etwas überlegen. Sehr ärgerlich, wenn man sich von Darmstadt 25 km zum reservierten Tisch nach Steigerts aufmacht, und eigentlich nur ein peinliches Erlebnis hat. Das tun wir uns zukünftig wirklich nicht mehr an. Schade, über inzwischen 20 Jahre haben wir das Lokal, auch mit Freunden und Familie immer wieder besucht. Aber hier ist wohl ein Gastronom zu "satt" geworden. Zum Essen und Service der vorherigen Besuche: das Essen ist ok, guter Odenwälder Standard, Service auch in Ordnung, wenn es etwas voller wird, auch mal chaotisch aber noch hinnehmbar. Das Lokal lebt aber in erster Linie von der Lage.

Bauernschnitzel gefüllt mit Pilzen, Speck und Käse. War eher eine Käsesosse. Die Pilze waren leider aus der Dose/Glas. Hätte mir eher frische Champions erhofft. Die Bratkartoffel waren eher lasch und wabbelig...keineswegs knusprig. Die Bedienung war supernett

Das Essen ist top und lecker, leider ist die Beilagenteilerei für die Füße. Finde es totaler Quatsch, dass man seine Beilage nicht einfach auf den Teller bekommen kann.

Leider leider. Hier hat man sich dafür entschieden, die Preissteigerungen bei der Qualität des Fleisches einzusparen. Die Schnitzel sind jetzt Fertigware aus der Tiefkühltruhe. Oder sie schmecken auf jeden Fall so. Gerne hätten wir für 3 Euro mehr ein leckeres Schnitzel gehabt. Schade, denn das war immer eines unserer Lieblingslokale. Und das seit Jahrzehnten . So schnell nicht wieder.

Wir waren im Herbst zu dritt und jetzt, beim erneuten Besuch, zu viert Die Reservierung klappte problemlos, der Service war erfrischend, d.h. schlagfertig, aber für eine Quereinsteigerin sehr professionell. Der Chef war freudnlich und entgegenkommend Wir hatten im Herbst verschiedene Schnitzel und dieses Mal überwiegend Gerichte von der Gans Uns fiel auf, dass generell unterwürzt und untergart wurde und dadurch die Beilagen einfach zu hart waren (Rosenkohl (trotz Speckwürfeln), Maronen). Gleiches gilt für die Stücke in der zu festen Maronensuppe, die eher der Konsistenz eines Pürees entsprach. Die Maronensuppe hätte etwas deftiger und flüssiger sein dürfen Die Gänseteile dagegen waren ansprechend, kross und nicht zu trocken. Das zum Brot gereichte Schmalz war ebenfalls unterwürzt und griebenfrei, aber mit Salz und Pfeffer aus der Mühle o.k. Die hausgemachte Gänsesauce und das Rotkraut waren so, wie es sich Gäste wünschen, Geschmack und Haptik nach Hausmacherart, so wie es sein soll. Die Füllung auf Apfelbasis war apart und passte gut zur gut gebratenen Gans Die Weine entsprachen den Erwartungen und dem Anspruch an das Restaurant, nette Auswahl verschiedener Trauben und Regionen zu angemessenen Preisen Die Einrichtung passte zum Stil des Lokals und den gereichten Speisen und wirkte gemütlich Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passte trotz der Verbesserungsmöglichkeiten bei den Beilagen Alles in allem zufrieden stellende Mittagessen in einer kleinen Gruppe mit Möglichkeiten, speziell bei den Beilagen noch besser zu werden

Wenn wir wieder gut essen gehen wollen, dann fahren wir "Zum Talblick". Das Essen ist so schmackhaft. Der Salat zum Essen war sehr gut. Ich hatte mich für Pommes entschieden und mein Mann für Bratkartoffeln. Beides war sehr lecker. Das Rumpsteak und das Schnitzel mit Spiegeleiern waren perfekt und reichlich. Das Personal war freundlich und aufmerksam und kompetent Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Ein herrlicher Ort mit leckerem Essen und einem wunderbaren Ausblick übers Tal bis auf die Frankfurter Skyline. Es empfiehlt sich, zu reservieren, ansonsten muss man gerade bei schönem Wetter länger warten oder bekommt keinen Platz, obwohl das Lokal inklusive Terrasse recht groß ist. Das flotte Servicepersonal ist selbst bei großem Ansturm sehr freundlich und überaus entspannt. Die Anfahrt über Stettbach war bei unserem Besuch (24.09.2023) wegen einer Straßensperrung nicht möglich. Man sollte über Ober-Beerbach anreisen.

Very touristic, less choices than other Restaurants and we needed to wait quite long this time. Bad review because I want less people to Go here

Der Talblick ist eines unserer Lieblingsrestaurants. Das Essen ist immer reichhaltig und qualitativ sehr gut. Natürlich ist es wie bei guten Restaurants oft voll aber man kann ja einen Tisch reservieren. Trotz Baustelle bei Anfahrt über Jugendheim finden genug Leute nach oben zum Restaurant, was erstaunlich ist. Bei schönem Wetter hat man einen grandiosen Ausblick Richtung Frankfurt und dem Rhein-Main-Gebiet. Auch Parkplätze sind immer ausreichend verfügbar. Ich bevorzuge den Talblick gegenüber anderen Restaurants da man immer eine gemütliche Stimmung hat und so sympathische Gäste trifft. Es ist eine schöne Location zum verweilen und keine Bahnhofsabfertigung. Ein besonderes Lob möchte ich den Mitarbeitern aussprechen die selbst bei Stoßzeiten immer ganz nett und hilfsbereit sind. Ihr macht einen Klasse Job!!!

Das Highlight ist die Terrasse von der aus man durch die Hügel des Odenwaldes bis Frankfurt blicken kann. Die Essenauswahl ist groß und die Preise sind sehr fair. Ein idealer Ort um beim Spaziergang oder Fahrradfahren eine Rast einzulegen, was aber auch schon recht vielen bekannt ist, so dass die Gegend stark frequentiert ist.

Preis Leistung ok. Essen sehr gut. Bei schönem Wetter auf der Terrasse wunderbarer Ausblick bis nach Frankfurt. Mann sollte unbedingt mal dagewesen sein.

Essen konnte ich leider nicht bewerten,wir haben nur etwas getrunken,aber das Ambiente und die Gastfreundschaft war sehr zufriedenstellend.

Ich mag es sehr hier zu sitzen mit dem Ausblick aber heute war leider weder der Service, Getränke vergessen noch das Essen, Schnitzel mit Pfeffer Sosse ,voll aus der Tüte, Eimer? besonders gut.... Schade......
