Very tasty burgers for an almost unfairly cheap price

X is cult. I grew up in the old town of Tübingen in the 80s and the X was the institution par excellence. After decades of absence, yesterday I took a trip into the past with my son. A lot of the positive things from the old days have been preserved. Somehow I was expecting a high-quality in-house curry sauce. Unfortunately that didn't exist. Overall the food was ok. - the iconic hustle and bustle has been preserved! The young guests of today will perhaps take a trip back in time to the X with their kids in 20 years. The cleaning in the kitchen was phenomenal!

Currywurst with fries for lunch. It was nice.

Low prices with a manageable selection. The food is mediocre and is not a burner in terms of appearance or taste.

Food was great, staff very accommodating and friendly. They had vegan alternatives, unbeatable prices (not even McDonald’s is that cheap anymore) and reasonably sized portions for the price. Was there when it wasn't so busy and my table was wiped down again before eating. A great snack bar, would come here more often if I lived here!!!

The hottest currywurst in a long time. We were traveling in Tübingen, there was steam and it was pouring rain. So the rain gods washed us into this little bar, where I was able to share a fries and currywurst with mayo with my Holden, like the one I last had many years ago on a xxx date in Essen. The fries were crispy and well seasoned, the bratwurst was on point, the ketchup was very fruity, the curry, yes, okay, it was curry, but exactly dosed, fruity ketchup and creamy mayo that could definitely have been homemade, if not then it's included a lot of love stirred. So short, cool, try it...

When visiting Tübingen, have a snack at X. Recommended.

The restaurant is in a very central location. Advantage for someone who is walking through the city and gets hungry. The place is very popular and the food is quite good. The service or attention of the workers is quite good, from time to time there is a laugh with the clients. The only point is... you don't pay by card... so you have to bother going to a bank to get money... but hey... it was worth it

Charges €1.40 packaging tax instead of €0.50. Fries were floury and barely salted. There are better alternatives in Tübingen - actually everything else. I also reported it to public authorities. Hard to believe it was an oversight or an isolated incident.

A very pleasant and small restaurant, X is known for things like currywurst, it's the perfect place to grab something quick or get the typical "hangover breakfast".

It may be due to age but I just liked it better before. Friendlier, more personal, more homely (and it was cheaper anyway). I find the fries too soft and the currywurst tasteless. It's just an emergency solution - definitely go to the vegan shed opposite ;-)

It's great that you now have the new edamame burger. Maybe you'll think about offering more vegan dishes (vegan currywurst?)! Otherwise great shop!

Been there for the first time. I don't necessarily need it again. Very nice staff, but it's not value for money at all. You can feel like you can see through the burgers. Almost like the Mecces, only more expensive.

Good meals for reasonable prices! Almost 50 years of providing late night meals. One of the best snack bars I've ever been to. The "Currywurst spezial" with shashlik sauce is - in my opinion - the best "Currywurst" south of Berlin. The "Pommes Frites" have a extremely constant quality and what is the best - with the tax on disposable dishes they invented real plates.... That's very nice.

Loveless food! I observed myself... With the cleaning rag over the tables, then handed out to citizens without washing their hands etc....wahhh "disgusting"

For a snack, a solid burger with fries and dip at acceptable prices. A simple, yet cozy guest room. The service could be even better (clear and understandable expression). Otherwise a great snack bar in Tübingen. 😊

The Currywurst Special used to be really tasty. Price is definitely too expensive. I can't recommend it. I certainly won't eat there again. A pity

Imbiss X is a real treat for all currywurst and burger lovers! The quality of the currywurst and burgers is excellent - juicy, aromatic and simply delicious. The curry sauce is perfectly balanced and gives the sausage a wonderful explosion of flavor. The burgers are also to die for, with fresh ingredients and an excellent taste. The atmosphere at Imbiss X is cozy and inviting, the staff friendly and attentive. All in all, an absolute recommendation for anyone looking for top-notch takeaway food!

Two friends and I each bought a hamburger that evening, but the next day we were all in the toilet more than anywhere else, there were fights to the death. I would like to give zero stars but that's not possible, so I give u 1. In addition, the service was bad, the burger buns tasted old and the burger overall was anything but tasty!

Used to be the best fries ever, delicious burgers, great currywurst. Today... Soggy fries, burger meat slightly rotten, strange dressing... Such a shame. Very nice service, after all😥

Always a must when visiting Tübingen

We ordered bratwurst twice. It no longer looked appetizing and had apparently been lying there for a bit too long.

The fries were freshly made but unfortunately they were totally over salted and not all cooked through. Currywurst drowned in curry powder and cold ketchup so that you can't taste any of the sausage anymore.

Everything is great here, especially the ambience!

The X is a restaurant of a special kind. It is located in Tübingen's old town, so it is easy to reach on foot. The food is prepared in an open kitchen and you can watch the chefs prepare the food for the citizens. In my opinion, just great. The burger was very tasty and perfectly cooked. The interior of the X is also beautifully designed and there are also seating options.

So I don't know why X has such a good reputation. Fries not quite cooked through :-( And cold ketchup on a fried sausage is not currywurst for me. Currywurst sauce works differently. Maybe you'll try the Brunnenwirt in Stuttgart ;-) Oh, and do you actually read the reviews? Don't you finally see a need for action? Or is the place also buzzing like that?

Best fast food restaurant with good cuisine in Tübingen

Food is quite OK. Only the young man with long hair who was standing at the grill today should urgently do something about his unfriendliness. Doesn't work at all. The older gentleman was super nice.

Wir waren am 16.12.2023 zum Weihnachtsmarktbesuch hier Pommes essen. Der Laden war sehr voll. Das Personal war absolut unhöflich. Es ging darum, dass jeder auf Pommes warten musste und das Personal überfordert war, die richtigen Besteller ausfindig zu machen. Zusätzlich war dann noch eine der Pommes nicht mehr gut.

Ein Muss in Tübingen. Leider nicht mehr ganz so gut und kultig wie früher aber immer noch lecker.. hat schon machen Abend gerettet

Etwas schwierig zu beurteilen, wenn man das "X" von früher kannte! Geschmacklich gut, Preis ist angemessen. Mitarbeiter sind freundlich.

Kult alleine reicht nicht. Ich komme schon viele Jahre hierher um Currywurst zu essen. Leider hat es mir nicht mehr geschmeckt. Gefühlt fehlt auch die Liebe zum Geschäft. Schade

Es un local de comida rápida, tiene espacio y el servicio es bueno, tiene opciones vegetarianas.

Mitarbeiter sind nett und freundlich, Räumlichkeiten sind sauber und übersichtlich. Preise sind akzeptabel. Qualität hat in den letzten Jahren doch etwas nachgelassen.

Gute Pommes, außen knusprig, innen weiche Kartoffel, so wie man es gerne hätte. Wurden frisch zubereitet, weshalb man kurz warten musste. Ketchup und Majo kosten extra, aber sei halt Tübingen, wie mir vom Personal gesagt wurde.

Viel probiert und alles für lecker befunden. Alles frisch und die Preise passen auch. Es gibt drinnen und draussen genügend Platz zum stehen und sitzen.

Essen, service und ambiente okay. Currywurst für 10€ recht teuer und nichts besonderes. Dafür schönes Imbis Ambiente.

Leider muss ich feststellen, dass der Imbiss X in Tübingen in letzter Zeit stark nachgelassen hat. Die einstigen leckeren Burger sind nicht mehr das, was sie einmal waren. Die Burgerbrötchen wirken überdimensioniert, während die Patties merklich geschrumpft sind. Ein trauriger Anblick für einen Imbiss, der einst für seine köstlichen Burger bekannt war. Der Imbiss X mag zwar ein Fast-Food-Restaurant sein, doch leider fehlt es ihm gänzlich an dem gewissen Spirit. Die Abfertigung erfolgt rasch und die bestellten Speisen werden regelrecht auf die Theke geklatscht. Diese Eile geht zu Lasten der Qualität und des Genusses. Das Essen wird eher lieblos präsentiert, ohne die Sorgfalt, die man von einem guten Imbiss erwarten würde. Was mich besonders enttäuscht hat, ist das Missverhältnis zwischen Preisen und Leistung. Die gebotene Qualität steht in keinem angemessenen Verhältnis zu den verlangten Preisen. Wenn man bedenkt, dass es sich um ein Fast-Food-Restaurant handelt, erwartet man zwar eine gewisse Schnelligkeit, aber das sollte nicht auf Kosten der Qualität gehen. Insgesamt kann ich den Besuch im Imbiss X in Tübingen leider nicht mehr empfehlen. Die einstigen Highlights, wie die leckeren Burger, sind nur noch eine Erinnerung und die aktuellen Gegebenheiten lassen zu wünschen übrig. Hier sollte dringend an der Qualität, der Präsentation und dem Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis gearbeitet werden, um den einstigen Glanz des Imbisses wieder aufleben zu lassen.

Super Preise und gute Burger. Es ist kein Burger Restaurant sondern eher ein Imbiss. Von Burger bis Currywurst alles haben sie da. Nur die Pommes schmecken etwas Lasch sonst alles top.

Hi, waren im Urlaub mal wieder im X. Bin 36 Jahre alt und seit meiner Kindheit ist die Pommes immer noch die No.1 mit Currywurst einfach genial. Weiß ja nicht was viele hier rum jammern aber das X ist und bleibt kult. Es war nie Vegan, wird es auch nicht und braucht es auch nicht. Wer in Tübingen Vegan will soll zur Kichererbse. Ansonsten bin ich hier gerne! Und das Essen schmeckt.

Eigentlich eine Institution. Aber Verpackungssteuer MUSS bezahlt werden, auch wenn man vor Ort isst. Dazu noch jeweils 80 Cent für Pommes und Majo und ruckzuck sind 4,90 Euro für Pommes weg, die eigentlich 3,50 Kosten...

Essen nach wie vor recht lecker, Preis/Leistung passt aber leider nicht mehr so gut.

Kleiner Imbiss, immer sehr nett für zwischendurch. Leider waren die Pommes bisher immer ziemlich salzig. Außerdem schon etwas teurer für „nur“ Imbiss (Süßkartoffelpommes 5,90€ + Verpackungssteuer) Die Betreiber können natürlich nichts für die Verpackungssteuer, sollte man als Kunde aber trotzdem wissen
