Very good food and nice service. The former pub has been converted into a stylish restaurant that beautifully combines old and new. In summer there is a beautiful beer garden with lots of greenery.

Today I picked up a voucher and spontaneously took food to take home with me. It was super tasty; went quickly, very nice staff and service. We will now come regularly. It's great that restaurants like this still exist.

With a small birthday party, we were served very attentively, courteously and kindly.

A beautiful location located directly at the Mühlheim city forest. From there you can start walks directly into the forest. The food is great, we were there for a celebration with a barbecue buffet outside. The service staff is very nice and quick. We will definitely go there again.

I was probably just unlucky. Others in the group have been there several times and are very satisfied. I was lucky enough to eat the rest of my wife and daughter. That's why the rating refers to the following dishes. Pork fillet Gorgonzola: Grade 2 Children's turkey schnitzel, tenderness 1+ taste grade 5, veal schnitzel unfortunately fibrous and slightly tough and not, or not seasoned boldly enough. Unfortunately completely neutral. Therefore 4-. Ambiance and service was great and attentive. The beer garden has been full except for 3 tables since it opened. We would like to test it again...

We finally had a meal on site. So far so good. But there can't be 5 stars. I had a veal schnitzel with pepper cream sauce with fried potatoes. Veal schnitzel very good and almost too big... I wouldn't have complained if it had been smaller. Fried potatoes cost 2 euros extra, which wasn't enough for me. (Enough bacon and onions!) Especially if you pay extra for it. Pepper sauce once again a homemade one in my opinion. Was very tasty. We had baked feta cheese as a starter, very tasty, but surprisingly cold/lukewarm. It wasn't bad, but it continued throughout the entire meal. Chanterelles from my wife: also only lukewarm. Schnitzel & fried potatoes too. As I said, food was good, but not 5 stars, especially given the price. Now the negative highlight: The menu says large Coca Cola 0.5 = 4.90 euros. Cola 0.4l is delivered for 4.90 euros. This means that the 0.4 Cola is more expensive than the 0.33 Cola for 3.40 euros. I don't like writing things like that in portals. I would be happy to contact those responsible by email to see if those affected can justify themselves. Unfortunately, this is not possible at the Waldschenke by email or message. There is no email address and you cannot write messages on Facebook Only possible by phone. This is the wrong medium for these comments and I don't have anything in writing. So bad 4 stars. Since the ambience is great and enough people eat there and are happy, I give it 4 stars and give the Waldschenke the chance to fix the little things.

The food wasn't really good. It's a shame, the salad with chanterelles unfortunately didn't taste like anything. Dressing nil. My daughter had the punch and it was exactly the same. No taste and the rice was still hard. Too bad.

Went there today with two couples from Cologne after visiting the zoo in Duisburg. Super nice beer garden, very tasty food and good service. 5/5! We'd be happy to come back when we're in the area.

We came across the restaurant through a tip. Located just outside the city center. But still easy to reach by bus. He basically stops right in front of the door. We visited the beer garden. Super nice in the countryside. Mostly lawn with old trees. Food was super tasty. Service friendly and quick. It wasn't the last time we were there

I have often stopped by the Waldschenke after a walk in the forest and have never been disappointed. Everything is very freshly prepared and every dish is a culinary delight. The schnitzels are world class, anyone who says otherwise has no idea (in relation to other reviews). Very tender meat that was previously pounded. Service and ambience also very good!

Yesterday we went to the Waldschenke for dinner. Unfortunately the visit did not live up to our expectations. First the positive. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice, unfortunately we couldn't use the beer garden due to the weather conditions, the toilets are visually very appealing and absolutely clean, which is extremely rare to find in this form. The staff was very attentive, non-intrusive and professional. Unfortunately the food was disappointing. My wife and I each had a schnitzel with different sauces. The breading was greasy and stuck to the schnitzel, spices were completely missing, and the fried potatoes had almost no taste. The salad was okay. What was unbearable, however, was the smell of deep fryer grease that spread throughout the entire dining area. It's really a shame that such a great restaurant is presented in this condition. We definitely won't be coming back again.

Mediocre. The salad was fresh, but with inferior ingredients. The triplets had a gentle fishy aroma (unclean pan?). The prices are comparatively too high. After all: the beer garden is nice.

Ate last Saturday, nice atmosphere, very local feel. Especially the outside terrace is very cozy. Nice spontaneous and friendly service.

The food tastes very good. But you should make a reservation otherwise it may happen that there is no space left.

04.2024 Very friendly as always. Asparagus was definitely not 500g as stated. 1 slice of ham divided into 4 parts. And the not-so-cheap dessert was about 2 spoonfuls. Not quite as happy this time.

We were thrilled, we just wanted to drink a coffee, by the way the coffee was the best I've had in a long time....it didn't stop there. We then ate chocolate cake....very juicy and beautifully prepared.... I will definitely come again .... Thanks also to the service 😊

We spontaneously went to eat here and managed to get a seat even without a reservation, even though it was already busy Overall it was okay, everything we saw around it looked great, so we were looking forward to it. It's a shame that it wasn't fully implemented that way. Great location to feel at home, a nice menu with something for everyone, very appealing and a nice selection. The service was friendly and attentive. The start was surprising; when we opened the table to a newly set table, we discovered that it was clearly dirty, not nice. New ones were brought immediately upon request. The appetizer platter we shared could have been made more out of it than just putting the ingredients on top. With plenty of salt and pepper it was ok. The spinach dumplings tasted delicious, unfortunately the pinched parmesan was missing, which was of course brought straight away when asked, you can make it nicer in just a few steps and the sauce was very heavily salted, but still ok. The dumplings themselves are very firm, but a large portion and tasty. The fillet steak was very good, ordered a bit English for medium, but as a meat connoisseur you can handle it 🤣 very tender and tasty. The vegetables were appropriate and tasty. But what didn't work were the fries. Really a basic here in the Ruhr area, and in such a nice restaurant, it's a shame for a steak at such a price. We can certainly recommend the Waldschenke for everyone, fundamentally solid and was fine.

Very nice location, everything has been wonderfully newly renovated and lavishly rebuilt. Great terrace with a view of the beautiful garden. Nice atmosphere, very tasty food and a great team. Very attentive and quick, I will definitely go here more often.

At the beginning of October 2023 we were able to host our celebration with almost 50 people as a closed group in the Waldschenke. There was enough space for the guests, the buffet set up in the next room as well as the DJ and the dance floor that would be needed later. Everything was very well organized and completely uncomplicated. The service was very attentive and courteous from the start. Our guests also emphasized this several times afterwards. The buffet was very lovingly prepared. At our request, the buffet also included some vegan dishes. The quality was very good and the food as a whole was very tasty. The buffet and the selection of drinks were very well received by all guests. We couldn't have chosen a better location for our celebration. We can highly recommend the Waldschenke and would host a celebration there again at any time.

Von A bis Z perfekte Gastgeber. Überaus freundlicher Service, sehr gute Organisation, hervorragende Qualität an Speisen und Getränken. Hier kann man sich einfach nur wohlfühlen. Weiter so...

Frühstück hervorragend, Service freundlich und immer schnell nachgelegt, kann ich nur empfehlen.

Wir haben hier den 50. Geburtstag meiner Frau gefeiert. Top Location! Vom Ambiente übers Essen und Getränke bis hin zur Organisation und Service, alles war sehr gut! Auch sonst gehen wir dort gerne essen und genießen die gute Küche und die schöne Atmosphäre seit der Neueröffnung vor ein paar Jahren! Gute Adresse in Mülheim Speldorf!

Ein sehr schönes und traditionelle Restaurant. Sauberer Innenbereich und gemütlicher Außenbereich. Essen war frisch, lecker und selbst kleine Wünsche wurden erfüllt. Personal ist super freundlich und zügig :) Kommen gerne wieder 👌

Dieses mal also die Waldschenke. Tisch reserviert und dann auch problemlos einen Platz bekommen. Ein nettes Lokal bei dem man auch draußen im Biergarten sitzen kann, so lange es das Wetter noch zulässt. Der Gastraum ist hell und freundlich. Ebenso wie die Mega freundliche Bedienung die uns die Karten brachte. Eine nette Kombination aus gutbürgerlich und etwas ausgefallener. Ich orderte vorweg die Tomatensuppe und danach das Pilz-Rahm Schnitzel mit Pommes Frites. Die Tomatensuppe kam super schnell und richtig heiß auf den Tisch. In der Mitte, wie beschrieben, mit einem Sahnehäubchen. Die Suppe geschmacklich nicht so stark aber lecker. Daher wohl selbst gemacht. Tütensuppen sind intensiver. Mit ein paar Kräutern verziert. Aber, bitte, der Rand des Tellers gehört dem Gast. Und bitte, wenn unbedingt was in die Suppe muss, nehmt ein Löffelchen Kräuter Creme fraiche. Alles allemal besser als die billige süße Sprühsahne. Eine Unsitte. Nach der Suppe kam auch sehr schnell der Hauptgang. Die Soße wird separat gereicht was ich gut finde. So wird das Schnitzel nicht ertränkt und bleibt kross. Das Fleisch sehr gut, selbst paniert und kein Formstück. Die Pommes perfekt sowohl was Temperatur, Salzgehalt als auch den Knusperfaktor angeht. Die Soße war ein bisschen knapp bemessen aber ausreichend. Recht feste Rahmsoße die eher an ein Creme erinnert. Geschmacklich leicht zurückhaltend aber passend. Der Beilagensalat war frisch und lecker. Tip zur Soße, ein paar angelassene Speckwürfel würden hier viel Aroma bringen. Besonderheit ist hier die selbstgemachte Limonade, in diesem Fall die Waldbeerlimonade. Mein Gegenüber nahm das Putensteak Melba mit Pfirsichen und Sauce Bearnaise mit Kroketten. Ebenfalls sehr lecker und toll angerichtet. Zum Dessert nahmen wir Kaffee, der sehr intensiv und stark aber auch sehr heiß an den Tisch kam. Insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden und die hohe Gastanzahl zeigt auch wir sind wohl nicht die einzigen. Nette und extrem schnelle Bedienung.

Kleine Abstriche beim "verwöhnten Gaumen"...Service sehr aufmerksam und freundlich...zur späten Stunde (20:00) wurde die Aufmerksamkeit dem Gast gegenüber leider minimiert.... Hier waren wir nicht zum letzten Male...

Sehr leckeres Essen. Vorallem die Spinatknödel sind zu empfehlen.

2 Sterne, für das flotte, freundliche Personal! Aber mein Champignon-Schnitzel hat den Namen nicht verdient... Pommes und Schnitzel waren ok, aber das Herzstück des Menüs, eben die "Soße mit Pilzen" glich eher nur einer kargen Kostprobe. Schade! Vorschlag: Nehmt doch noch 2-3 Euro mehr, aber serviert dann auch was die Speisekarte verspricht!!

Innen wie außen ein sehr angenehmes Ambiente, das aber auch der Tradition des Hauses durch Schwarzweiß Fotografien Rechnung trägt. Chateaubriand (!) für 2 SEHR ordentlich. Service schnell, freundlich mit viel Übersicht. Ich würde mir wünschen, dass auch ein paar jüngere Gäste hingehen.

Immer noch eine tolle Lokalität, seit Jugendzeiten.

Schönes Ambiente mit gutem Essen und nettem Service. Die Lage direkt am Wald und dem netten Außengelände könnte man noch um eine Spielmöglichkeit für Kinder erweitern.

Waren heute das erste Mal dort und sind wirklich begeistert. Das Essen war sehr gut - noch nie so ein gutes Schnitzel gegessen. Bin gespannt, bei den nächsten Malen, weitere Speisen auszuprobieren. Das Personal super freundlich und der Außenbereich wirklich ein Traum. Als wir gingen, hatten wir das Gefühl, im Kurzurlaub gewesen zu sein - Danke hierfür!

Gutes Essen, schöner Biergarten und tolle Bedienung. Etwas höhere Preise.

Ein Besuch in der Waldschenke hat immer etwas von "nach Hause kommen" man wird herzlich begrüßt und der Service ist sehr bemüht die Wünsche zu erfüllen. Es gibt eine zusätzliche Saisonale Karte wie aktuell zur Spargelsaison mit vielfältigen Gerichten. Der Klassiker Schnitzel mit unterschiedlichen Beilagen ist sehr lecker und für jeden Geschmack steht eine Soße zur Auswahl. Ein kühles Bier zum Essen und der heiße Cappuccino runden den Besuch ab. Hier komme ich immer gerne wieder zum Essen hin.

Habe noch nie so ein schlechtes Schnitzel gegessen. Da ist mein selbst zubereitetes 3 x besser. Wer das nicht kann, sollte es besser gleich lassen.
