A rustic restaurant at the foot of Querfurt Castle. There is something for every taste of German cuisine here.

Drove by spontaneously on November 13th, 2024. Note on the door that Mon/Tues are currently closed days! (as of 11/2024) The restaurant was empty, it was after 3 p.m., so the rush was obviously over. I was allowed to choose between two tables, so I chose the one by the door; no waitress would have seen me at the other place. (By the way: all the seats remained empty during my stay, so it wouldn't have mattered if I had sat down somewhere else). Card and drink came pretty quickly. The staff who served me was polite and friendly. I ordered the Greek-style schnitzel. The schnitzel itself was good, I couldn't find anything bad about it. What surprised me a bit: the schnitzel was gratinated with cheese, but the tomatoes and cucumbers underneath were still cold and the feta had not melted at all?¿ Then it's better to order the schnitzel plain without the supposed appearance of being over-baked. The fries and tzatziki were also delicious. I thought the price was okay, just under 25 euros for 1 drink plus food is normal these days. There are enough parking spaces (free of charge) right next to the restaurant,

I was at the potato house once at the beginning of the year and a second time today. Luckily I didn't have to pay for the meal every time because I was invited. So I intentionally didn't decide on a schnitzel dish today because it was unfortunately disappointing at the time and I thought I wouldn't go wrong with a knuckle. Unfortunately the meat was very dry and hard, I don't even want to talk about the fried potatoes. The portion sizes of all dishes are okay, but could be a little more generous, but the prices are too high. But the most important thing for everyone is the quality and taste. And in my opinion, the potato house can only improve. I don't understand the good reviews about the food at all. I had a look at many dishes because each of us had ordered something different and unfortunately I have to say that no plate really impressed me. Please fundamentally rethink how you prepare your dishes and which basic products you use. In a different urban environment, with a lot of competition nearby, you could have closed the store long ago. Unfortunately, Querfurt no longer has much to offer where you can really eat well, so there is simply no competition. Unfortunately, today was the last time I was with you. Please hire someone who can cook, who values ​​good products and prepares the food with love and puts it on the plate. Sorry. 😔

Went here for lunch after the castle. Beautifully rustic restaurant with German cuisine and a large selection of ice cream menus. The service was top and the family atmosphere adds to the ambience. If you are coming with more than 3 people, it is advisable to make a reservation in advance. Many thanks to the owners and the team for the great hospitality.

Today we went to the Thaldorfer potato and schnitzel house for a late lunch... There were 12 of us and we got a board without any problems. The nice ladies at the service took care of us immediately and organized everything. The drinks were at the table super quickly, the selection of food is great! We were all full and happy! Great service, great food and a very nice atmosphere!

Unfortunately the outside area is very run down. Old tables and boxes as well as dirty teaching boards and many withered flowers line the terrace. Waiters friendly and quick. Unfortunately, the food is not the highlight of this establishment. Schnitzel 400g was only about 250g together, served with 10 fries and a Klex Mören salad. Schnitzel fatty. Fried potatoes turned out to be lightly fried potatoes and the advertised chanterelles drowned in unseasoned cream. Too bad. At the prices!

I treated myself to the brawn with fried potatoes and tartar sauce and was rewarded with a good portion. Although I'm a big steak and schnitzel fan, I would choose the brawn again. Because I only know a few restaurants that offer this dish and it's so good. All thumbs up!!!

Coincidence led us to the Thaldorf Potato House. Despite not making a reservation in advance, because it was spontaneous, we were assigned a small table. In the 1 1/2 hour stay, the dishes, starter, main course and dessert were served perfectly. But the biggest thing is the kitchen, because it is very, very good. The food was entirely homemade and used lots of fresh ingredients. We are happy to give the highest rating for this. We would also love to come back.

You should know early enough that you want to eat something there. The kitchen closes at 8 p.m., with opening times posted online until 10 p.m., so no spontaneous visits are allowed during that time. 1 star is given, drinks were offered😅

We were able to order a table at very short notice and it even worked. Very nice and courteous staff. The service leaves nothing to be desired. The menu is extensive and has something for everyone. The food was super tasty and the right portion size, not too overwhelming. The kitchen is damn quick, from ordering to eating less than 30 minutes. Sehr nettes und zu vorkommendes Personal, sehr kinderlieb. Ich hab in meinem Leben noch nie so ein riesen Schnitzel gesehen. Als die Reihe durch 400g Fleisch bestellt wurden hat die Bedienung sehr verwirrt geschaut, in sich hinein gegrinst und gesagt rennt, rennt um euer Leben. Sie wusste was uns erwartet. Sehr gute Qualität und nur komplett zu schaffen wenn man Tage zuvor nichts gegessen hat.

Das Essen war sehr lecker,es gab keine Ausnahme. Jeder hat was anderes gegessen und war begeistert. Es wurde schnell serviert und war heiß. Das Personal hat sich die größte Mühe gegeben und mit liebe den Tisch gedeckt und den Raum hergerichtet. Vielen lieben Dank für den gelungenen Abend. Sehr zu empfehlen

Nach einer etwas verwirrenden Fahrt haben wir das Lokal gut erreicht und von den guten Parkmöglichkeiten profitiert. Das Restaurant war wundervoll herbstlich dekoriert. Auf der Karte gibt es eine tolle Auswahl und Schnitzel in verschiedenen Größen. Auch wer kein Schnitzel mag, kann sich beispielsweise an den Flammkuchen erfreuen. Für ein tolles Schnitzel mit Vor- und Nachspeise habe ich nur 30 € bezahlt und war vollkommen zufrieden. Für unsere Weihnachtsfeier oder auch einfach so kommen wir gerne wieder.

Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam sowie frisch und freundlich in ihrer Art, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt!

Haben unser Treffen, zum 50-järigen Schulabschluss gefeiert, sehr aufmerksame Bedienung und Leitung, waren angemeldet und es hat alles, entsprechend meiner Absprachen geklappt... empfehlenswert. Danke. Wer ein wenig Bewegung braucht, gute Möglichkeiten im gegenüberliegendem Thalgarten.

Das Thaldorfer Kartoffelhaus ist immer einen Besuch wert. Lecker Essen, freundliche Bedienung. Allerdings sollte man reservieren. Ein Spontanbesuch könnte schiefgehen.

Leider hat mich das Kartoffelhaus sehr enttäuscht. Die Portion war dem Preis absolut nicht gerechtfertigt. Werde dort nicht mehr Bestellen. Vielleicht sind die Gerichte besser wenn man diese vor Ort verzehrt. Aber bestellt wird nichts mehr.
