We were guests at Shanty again today and I have to say, thank you for the wonderful time. A big thank you to the chef, the food was delicious once again, keep up the great work! A big thank you also to the super friendly staff. And thank you for the tip about Cafe Weinberg 19. It lived up to the hype. Please keep up the good work. And see you in the new year. We visited the Shanty twice within a week. We felt very comfortable there. Everything was delicious, the service was friendly, and we felt welcome. Next time we're in Templin, we'll be back at the Shanty.

There were three of us eating out, and none of us enjoyed the food. For example, there was less meat on the plate than shown in the menu picture, and I've never had fried sweet potatoes before.

End of August 25, Friday! 8:03 p.m.: I enter the restaurant, see on the board outside that the kitchen is open until 8 p.m., and politely ask if I'm really three minutes late for dinner (I'd have ordered a hamburger schnitzel, so I'd just order the squares). The waiter goes into the kitchen, comes back, and says: The cooks are already gone... (Restaurant open until 10 p.m.) So I leave too – around two blocks to the "Grünling" restaurant, also open until 10 p.m. – eating there was no problem. The Shanty restaurant is obviously already too full, even on a Friday evening, and less than hospitable.

Delicious food, nice atmosphere, advance reservation on weekends is advisable.

Yes, highly recommended; it was incredibly delicious. We had mussels as a starter, followed by fried zander and schnitzel.

Unfortunately, to get something to eat, you have to be there before the kitchen actually closes at 8:00 p.m. - at 7:45 p.m. they said the chef had already cleaned... which is understandable, but then they just write "kitchen open until 7:30 p.m." or whatever 🤷🏻‍♂️The restaurant is open until 10:30 p.m., so you wouldn't think there's anything left at 7:45 a.m. - sorry, I specifically asked if the chef would like to make a less elaborate salad... nothing -

The food was first-class, both visually and palatably. My wife opted for zander on savoy cabbage, and I chose salmon with cheese sauce. Both dishes were a delight. The service was very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend the restaurant.

Hello dear team from the Shanty restaurant in Templin. We were passing through Templin and were looking for a restaurant near the lake. We received a very warm welcome at the restaurant. The food was very good (matjes with fried potatoes and fried herring with fried potatoes). Super friendly service, everything freshly prepared. I've saved this restaurant for my next trip. Fantastic restaurant with impeccable service and wonderful food! The rump steak was grilled to perfection and perfectly seasoned with rosemary and thyme. Crispy fried potatoes and a cool Lübzer Pilsner—you can't ask for more on a balmy summer evening on the terrace! The tuna and egg salad was also perfect. We'll definitely be back!

We had an excellent meal at Shanty today. The portions were very generous, enough to satisfy even hearty eaters like us after a long bike ride, and the price was absolutely fair. Here, the side dish not only includes two small potatoes, but is truly substantial. Big compliments to the chef for the delicious and beautifully presented food. Very warm and friendly staff (both the waitress and the chef himself). You can feel the joy in their work here. We will definitely be back on our next vacation. Keep up the good work and highly recommend it.

A beautifully decorated restaurant right on the lake in Templin. The service is friendly and fast. The food is rather hearty, the portions are large, and the prices are absolutely reasonable.

It's truly a very cozy place, and the value for money is truly excellent. I feel well served and excellently fed every time.

The food was okay and tasty, but the service was unfortunately below average. We tried to reach someone by phone three times, without success. Once we got there, we discovered the reason: the staff were standing outside smoking. There was no greeting upon entering the restaurant, and the service was generally rather inattentive. Particularly unpleasant: One server was leaning forward and agitated in front of the guests, which was completely inappropriate. After the meal, no one else came to our table, and we didn't ask for more drinks or dessert. Paying was even more complicated because there was only one server on duty, who had also been at the table before. Overall, a disappointing visit; the service urgently needs improvement.

The ladies left us standing there to look around without saying hello. A greeting should have been expected, though - even while at work. Then they acknowledged our presence and showed us a seat upon request. Unfortunately, the table hadn't been wiped. But both ladies explained in unison that the kitchen would be closing soon (40 minutes before) - so please decide quickly. The food was good, the portions could definitely be a bit larger, the prices are OK. The view of the lake can be enjoyed much more effectively if the windows on the terrace are cleaned. It can be so easy... Conclusion: we don't need to go back.

We arrived spontaneously and were let in with a real embarrassment. After we'd had a drink, we still wanted something to eat. This didn't happen because the waitress wasn't very attentive. She walked past us a whopping eight times, perfectly ignorant; our glasses were empty, and we didn't ask a question... In between, guests were sent away because there wasn't enough room. We would have left sooner if the waitress hadn't been so ignorant. After we got the menu, she never came back to our table to take our order. We'd had enough and wanted to pay. We waited half an hour there too, waiting for us to pay. I don't need such stupid behavior. My husband then got up and went to the counter to pay. Of course, down to the last penny. Something so stupid has never happened to us before. We can't recommend this restaurant. You never know what kind of mood they're in there. We then ate at the Templiner Ferienpark, where the service was very friendly and attentive.

They've definitely lost me as a customer. I was there once for a birthday party where they had a buffet, and I was absolutely thrilled with the food, which was truly top-notch. Then I wanted to order something to pick up from time to time, but since they don't have a menu online, I asked on the phone if they could recommend something - after all, that's the minimum requirement for a waiter, to recommend a dish from the menu. Once, after a bit of nagging that they couldn't read me the whole menu (which I didn't want; I wanted a meal with meat and potatoes, it can't be that difficult), it worked. The next time, it was the same, only then the man simply chose the most expensive thing on the menu for me! How nice! That would have been enough to make me never go back, but I was so impressed with the food that I wanted to go there for lunch with a friend who was visiting. It says in big letters outside: Open from 11:00 (or 12:00) to 20:00. We arrived at 2:00 PM, and suddenly there was a second sign: Kitchen closed from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Extremely annoying. The next day we wanted to try again, but we were there at 1:00 PM, and there was a sign: Open only from 4:00 PM today. So, even with the best will in the world, the food isn't so good that you can overlook such terrible service. I'll definitely never be back.

Delicious. I ate a rump steak and it was great. 1a meat and super friendly service. If food or drink came incorrectly, it was immediately corrected and an apology was given. There is even a children's corner with some toys. Very child friendly. The toilets are also clean. I can only recommend eating here.

The fish restaurant *Shanty* in Templin impresses with maritime charm, warm service and fresh, excellent quality food. The menu is varied, lovingly put together and offers something for every taste. The cozy ambience with a view of the lake rounds off the culinary experience perfectly.

Absolutely recommended. We were able to make reservations for 17 paddlers at very short notice. The food is very tasty and we were warmly welcomed and looked after. Thank you very much

As a tourist in the area you look at the reviews and they spoke to us about the “Shanty”. But now we were already disappointed. The service was always slow and the dishes were average. Unfortunately. Not more. And: there was a mountain of cress on every, but really every dish... that's not possible. It's a shame overall.

The food, well. If the cook then comes out and shouts at the guests because the soup doesn't taste good,... it's not possible. In revenge for an opinion, you can then wait about 30 minutes to be allowed to pay. If you want to eat well in Templin, go to Grünling...
