A beautiful spot with a holiday feeling! But: We docked there today with the boat to grab something quick to eat: 4 x cheeseburgers with French fries…. and that was really a disappointment...for EUR 15.50 there was a burger in which the patty was at most the size of a mini party cutlet and 7 counted french fries were served - all on a loveless, bare plate! The waitress’s comment without any further words “I’ll tell the chef”…. P.S. Service was nice and the salad at the next table looked good.

Berlin Gastronomy review: 'Treptower Klause' Test: Offer 'roast goose with red cabbage and dumplings' The location attracted attention due to increasing good reviews, so a visit there also seemed worthwhile this year (2024). We made reservations in good time (recommended to do so!) and were given a larger table as requested. The restaurant appears inconspicuous - even from the outside - with an unappealing, barren atmosphere and a very obvious need for spatial renovation. Benches, tables and seating are of sufficient quality. The heating was rather sparse on the day we visited; we felt it was too cold in the room. The reception by a very agile and attentive Anne Köster (service) was friendly. We chose the offer 'roast goose with red cabbage and potato dumplings' - which was also advertised on the website; Priced at €35.50 per person. The waiting time for preparation by Jussuf Kremke (kitchen) remained reasonable; The 'Montepulciano', which was ordered in the meantime and served immediately, bridged the time and warmed us up (heating!). The 'roast goose with red cabbage and potato dumplings', which was soon brought to us, was served with plums and apple pieces as side dishes. Since a goose doesn't just consist of 'goose legs', anyone who had one on their plate was simply lucky. The offer is not 'goose leg with red cabbage and potato dumplings' (!); Guests who want to take advantage of the offer - until December 26th, 2024 - may ask the chef beforehand. The dumplings were smaller in size, airy, spongy. Both the goose leg and the roast goose were too dry and fibrous. The note to the service was commented on with a no longer so friendly, rather snippy '...but you're the first today'. Since the restaurant opened at 6 p.m. and we had reserved for 6:30 p.m., that may even be true. Despite our disappointment at the 'roast goose', we were still able to laugh at this snarky remark. The sauce for the roast was too little for the table, not sufficient, seemed too thin and watery to us. We reordered this and it was definitely too watery and diluted - perhaps due to the local demand being too large. You can do that, but you have to be very careful. A chef who trained with star chef Franz Raneburger ('Bamberger Reiter', Berlin-Schöneberg) should know this. All in all, we were full, but weren't thrilled. The bare, barren ambience doesn't appeal to everyone, but it may no longer be a problem at a later, wine-loving hour - open until 10 p.m. We didn't want to stay in this location for so long and set off again into the Berlin night. PS: The female companion of this local visit was surprised by diarrhea the next day; That may or may not have been due to the roast goose...
