Authentic bavarian restaurant in the centre, friendly service with great beer to go with

The Scheidegger is a real piece of Schwabing and a traditional inn as you would imagine. Inside you can expect a cozy atmosphere with wood-panelled walls that feels really warm and inviting. You can make yourself comfortable on the benches outside and forget about time with a beer - typical Schwabing. The Bavarian cuisine is really good here, and the Kaiserschmarren? Simply perfect: fluffy, slightly caramelized, just the way it should be. The roast pork, which is served once a week, is particularly popular. It is served fresh from the oven, with a dark beer sauce that goes perfectly with it. The portions are generous, and the potato dumplings and homemade coleslaw complete the dish perfectly. Incidentally, the Scheidegger has been around since 1996 and has since established itself as an integral part of Schwabing's tavern culture

Super delicious food. I ordered a burger and salad. The service was quick. The service is customer oriented. It's easy to take leftovers with you. The atmosphere was great and cozy.

At Scheidegger I could order up and down the menu, especially the menu of the week. I'll definitely come here again because it tastes very good, the price is right and the service is friendly and professional.

Outdoor & indoor seating. Lunch menu has more variety than usual in a Bavarian restaurant & was very priced. Most mains were €10.60. I do not eat pork which is normally a problem. Not in this restaurant. My only issue is while our mains were tasty, neither was served in accordance with the menu. The wine list while short was also very well priced. Excellent value for money, we would return

Unfortunately, not the standard of food or service it once had. The menu looked promising, but seems to be too long for the kitchen to do justice to. One example: a salad of "grilled vegetables" turned out to be a pile of defrosted frozen veg with salad dressing. Disappointing. However, a lovely terrace, so I would come back for drinks!

Nice atmosphere, menu no longer up to date, prices have increased compared to what is stated here. Food is good, but quality was once better.

Excellent price-quality ratio of the food. Just a pity that we got an alcohol-free beer that didn't taste good. We had indicated this, but it was said that the beer came from the bottle and could therefore not possibly be good. Yet this was true, maybe there was something in the glass where it was poured or something else, but something was not right. (3 men tasted and came to the same conclusion) In the end, the beer was still on the receipt and the staff refused to take it away. So we paid him and didn't leave a tip. Too bad because otherwise it is a really good place to eat. It also looked cozy inside.

I went there for lunch with my girlfriend. We like the atmosphere. The food and drink is good to very good. The service is attentive, quick and friendly. The price/performance ratio is good. Gladly again!

My favourite place in Schwabing

The food has always been very tasty. There is always something for every taste and at affordable prices. It comes quickly, the conditions are friendly, competent, fast and always smiling. It is always a lot going on. We always got a place for the two of us. If you are traveling with several people, it is advisable to make a reservation, especially in the evening. Parking is only available on the street.

The Wirtshaus Scheidegger in Munich Schwabing offers a pleasant, rustic atmosphere with simple furnishings that are typical of a traditional Bavarian inn. The service was quick and professional. Unfortunately, the schnitzel I tried was mediocre and didn't leave a lasting impression. Overall, Scheidegger offers a solid, if not outstanding, culinary experience.

The schnitzel is worth it both in terms of price and taste. The service was pleasant and overall I can only recommend this restaurant!

Super Service! Went there to watch football yesterday! Good and quick food for affordable prices. Unfortunately it has become a rarity in Munich. Highly Recommended!

I had reservations outside for the game. I've already been asked on the phone if I want to sit outside in the rain (it's not raining)! I explicitly mentioned that we wanted to watch the game outside. When we arrived we were placed inside, in the small side room, with no air! The screens were placed outside. We now had to sit in the self-service area and the tables are not cleared! But employees stand next to it and smoke, cool, but no longer acceptable

Terrible service! They messed up our booking. We booked a table outside in advance to watch football. We were given a table inside, in a small room. As a result, we had to sit outside but in the self-service area. Which no one pays attention to or cleans up. The food was carried for a very long time. My husband got the salad when the schnitzel was already eaten. The impression of the evening is terrible. The staff didn't even apologize for their mistakes. We went to another place to watch the match. We wanted to come here more often because it is close to home, good location and prices. But we won't come again. Better go to LeFlorida!

We were there last night. Food was good, but the service was (once again) disastrous. We sat outside and despite repeated friendly requests, our table wasn't cleared for almost 3 hours until we finally went in and asked when someone would finally clear the table The waiters walked past our table several times, but no one had the idea to clear away a few empty glasses/plates. Unfortunately, the service has gotten worse and worse over the last year. There is now “self service” outside - which is ok in principle, but when you pay €20-25 for a main course I expect at least one waiter at the table to take the order and you get decent, friendly service. It's a shame, the Scheidegger was always an institution in the district, but now the prices seem to be increasing every month and the service is decreasing at the same time. Very unfortunate.

There were 4 of us at Scheidegger. The atmosphere with the bar gardens is quite nice, but unfortunately the service and food quality are poor. For one dish, when we took the order, we asked the waiter for extra spaetzle to go with the schnitzel with fried potatoes, and we ordered the remaining three dishes as mentioned on the menu. After a short while a waitress came and brought two dishes, but she couldn't tell us what one dish was because it didn't match what was ordered. The remaining two meals came again with a delay, so we couldn't start eating at the same time. The waiter brought the last meal and then explained that the additionally ordered spaetzle had come instead of the fried potatoes, so after 5 minutes we at least knew what the dish that was brought first was At no point were we, sitting in front of 3 of 4 empty glasses, asked if we wanted to drink again. The potatoes with the asparagus arrived exactly 7 minutes after the asparagus was served and were only lukewarm. Because the food was delivered at staggered times, we were finished at different times within the group. My plate was cleared and my friend, who was still eating, tried to take the plate away. Unfortunately, there was never an excuse for the chaos. It wasn't full house by any means, but the service was completely disorganized and you could tell that there wasn't good communication between the waiters and the kitchen. I'm sorry, but I can't recommend it.

I wanted the ribeye steak instead of loin with the onion roast. This has already led to discussions because the waitress didn't know the difference between a rib eye and sirloin steak. When the food came it was well done and I was told I had to note how the steak should be fried. I've been working in the catering industry for years... The service has to ask how... Second attempt - this time, even though I ordered medium, it was well done again. Then I ate it like that. Fried onions from the package. Lettuce crunches between your teeth because it wasn't washed properly. The fried potatoes weren't fried even an inch... Absolute disaster for €25 At the next table a pork knuckle was sent back because it was dry and hard... Never again!!!

Wir waren schon öfter hier aber nun zu ersten Mal im Biergarten. Sehr freundliche und umsichtige Bedienung, obwohl nach eigener Aussage heute den ersten Tag hier. Essen war ausgezeichnet, da gab es nix auszusetzen. Leider gabs kein Maibock, schade, aber das Augustiner Helle ist auch vorzüglich

Very good, extremely friendly, fast and very attentive staff. Extensive selection on the menu. Good kitchen. The atmosphere inside is a bit cramped. Often very full, but reservations for dining for individuals are unfortunately never made explicitly. Very good price/performance ratio. Overall, highly recommended.

The cheese spaetzle and fried potatoes were great and the price was reasonable, service was friendly and quick. Unfortunately, due to a shift change, we were charged in the middle of the meal, which was more than unfortunate and the same thing happened to other tables. This is something you know in advance and then do immediately when ordering or after the meal, but if I have to interrupt the meal to dig out my wallet, it spoils the overall impression a bit. All in all, a solid 4 stars.

We were here for lunch with 15 people. The selection of dishes is extremely diverse. Food came quickly, tasted good and the portions were very large. Prices are definitely justified. Ambience: rustic, a tavern in Bavaria!

Went there for dinner twice. Prices a bit high but very tasty and large portions. Service was very friendly, we will definitely come back next time we visit Munich.

We reserved 2 tables for 5 people each. We got 1 table for 8 people. Extremely unfriendly staff, didn't give a table, even though there were free seats. Hospitality and reliability 0. Never again.

We waited 1 hour for our food. The guests around us felt the same way. We ordered a burger and a portion of fries. When the food came the fries were cold and bland. When we asked, the waiter said he would throw them back into the deep fryer, which really isn't possible... The same plate came again with fries that really tasted like they were twice fried. Hunger drove the burger in but good is different. Really not a nice experience. If we could, we would give 0 stars...

A beautiful traditional restaurant with a historic guest room. It's also really nice to sit outside on a Sunday morning when there's little traffic. We had fine white sausage with pretzels, the children's dumplings with sauce and Strammen Max, everything was great.

We like to go to Scheidegger more often. Today we were very annoyed. Food, as always, good. Service but disappointing and in the end rude. The waitress ignored us most of the time (or couldn't see us because she preferred to sit at the bar and chat with colleagues). For example, empty glasses were simply cleared away without a word, without asking us if we would like to drink something else. We had to wait forever to pay. Because we were so dissatisfied with the service, we only tipped 5%. The waitress' reaction: shaking her head. We then replied: “You can also ask why.” The waitress then defiantly said: “Nope, everything’s fine.” and left without another word to us. As we were leaving we saw the waitress apparently complaining about us to her colleague.

Fantastic Augustinian pub, I like to come here for lunch but also for a beer after work.

One of the few original Munich restaurants, always delicious food at prices that are still fairly reasonable for Schwabing! I like going here!

The food was delicious, but unfortunately I was served a Swiss sausage salad with almost no cheese at all, the sausage was only served as a wheel (slice) and there was a baguette with it. Basically a nice rustic restaurant with a Bavarian atmosphere. The food is OK, the roast pork is as it should be. Unfortunately the service is rather uninspired. Sales are lost because the service staff are not interested in our drinks needs. It's a shame because it's actually a good restaurant.

Ich war mit meiner Nichte und ihrer Familie dort (2 kleine Kinder). Sehr unkompliziert und freundlich. Netter Service, gutes Essen, alle waren zufrieden.

Kann mich heute noch an meinen ersten Besuch erinnern,das müsste vor 20 Jahren gewesen sein. Damals haben ich und Freunde jeden Samstag Nachmittag uns hier die Bundesliga angeschaut Dazu gab es ein schönes Augustiner Bier und wirklich leckere Käsespätzle Doch heute ist die Küche so lala , der Laden ist aber trotzdem immer gut besucht vielleicht liegt das an den fleißigen Famen im Service denn wegen der Küche muss man nicht unbedingt wiederkommen

Six (adults) stayed at the SCHEIDEGGER on Thursday, February 1st, 2024. The ambience of the guest room is nice and well-kept. On the other hand, the toilets are outdated and no longer up to date. We sat at a long table next to the entrance to the toilets, unfortunately we constantly got the pungent, chemical toilet smell from the toilets - not good. The service was poorly organized - we were asked for drinks by two women independently of each other, obviously the service didn't agree on who had which station. Even a dessert we ordered was simply forgotten. I had (once again) a roast pork - the portion size was just okay, unfortunately the meat was not of any special quality or prepared, the sauce was homemade. What particularly annoys me is that the coleslaw is advertised as "homemade" - it definitely isn't! The prices quoted are excessive for the service (service, ambience, food, etc.). This needs to be improved. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the SCHEIDEGGER at the moment.

Roast pork and schnitzel are not famous in terms of craftsmanship. E.g. The gravy is certainly prepared with various helpers and tastes the same. The schnitzel was way too thick and probably frozen. Given the price, it's perhaps only feasible, so at least it's 3 stars. However, that doesn't excuse the poor service. The waitresses don't try hard and aren't friendly. The atmosphere is quite nice

We came here for Münchner Schnitzel and some Weizen and were not disappointed. Excellent and fast service. The Schnitzel was fabulous and overall we had a splendid experience!

Mittlerweile unverschämt teuer! Die Gerichte der Mittagskarte lagen lange Zeit so bei ca. 7 Euro. Mittlerweile kosten sie 11 (!) Euro! Ohne Salat! Möchte man diesen dazu, sind nochmal 3 Euro zu löhnen. Bis letztes Jahr waren es noch 2 Euro. Also eine Erhöung um 50%!! Wirklich unverschämt. Das macht dann satte 14 Euro für ein Mittagessen (!), das zudem noch kleiner ist als ein Gericht der Hauptkarte. Leider ist auch das Bier meist nicht gut eingeschenkt und reicht nicht ansatzweise zum Eichstrich. Schade, dass hier in letzter Zeit der Kommerz so hochgehängt wird. Ich war lange Zeit gerne bei euch, aber diese Entwicklung ist für mich so nicht tragbar.

Rustikales Restaurant im bayrischen Stil. Sehr gut besucht. Hunde sind kein Problem. Das Essen ist lecker, aber die Portionen könnten etwas größer sein für den Preis. Man muss lange warten, bis eine Bedienung kommt, Diese ist aber dann sehr freundlich. Die Speisekarte ist vielseitig, aber etwas durcheinander. Es gibt Tagesangebote, Saisonangebote und die normale Karte. Sie sind aber wirr eingeheftet, nicht nacheinander. Suchen lohnt sich.

Wenn wir in MINGA sind Scheidegger ist Pflicht.Preis/Leistung passt. Service war immer NETT freundlich.Meistens junge Leute auch Studenten immer ein Auge für den Gast obwohl das bei vollem Bier,Gast oder Schanigarten vor und neben dem Haupteingang nicht alles so übersichtlich ist.Wenig Touris was dem Verweilen vor ORT gut tut.Menschen aus dem Quartier ,Grätzl, Veedel die auch nicht nur Essen und wech wollen und damit eine Unruhe reinbringen. Wem das nicht passt sollte die Touri Essensanstalten bevorzugen. Wir hoffen das solche Wirtschaften wie das Scheidegger nicht ganz verschwinden. Gibt es sowieso nur noch wenige.Bleibt so wie ihr seit. Und großen DANK an eine Nachbarschaft die es auch mal mitträgt wenn es in einer lauen Sommernacht noch Geräusche gibt.

I had lunch here with my friends while visiting. It was nice but we were asked if we had reservations and the place was practically empty. It would have been nice to have had a regular table but we were seated in a back corner at a high top like table. Not the most comfortable. The food was good but when we left about an hour later the place was still relatively empty.

So warm and cosy!!!! Friendly people, delicious food. Everything was perfect!!! Sooooo recommended!!!

Der Scheidegger ist seit vielen Jahren unser Treffpunkt für unseren Camera Stammtisch, den es inzwischen seit 30 Jahren gibt. Die Speisekarte ist umfangreich und eigentlich ist alles lecker. Es gibt sogar eine Wasserschorle!

Gemütliche Kneipe für ein paar Augustiner mit Freunden.

Entspanntes Münchener Gasthaus mit angenehmem Schwabinger Charme. Bier vom Holzfass. Sonntags zum Weißwurst Frühstück ist zu empfehlen.

Un bel posticino accogliente per un pasto in stile bavarese, poco frequentato dai turisti.

Das Restaurant punktet mit guten, wechselnden Mittagsangeboten und einer angenehmen Atmosphäre. Der Service ist freundlich, wenn auch nicht besonders schnell oder aufmerksam. Das Essen insgesamt hat geschmeckt, jedoch war der Schweizer-Wurstsalat eher sparsam mit Käse und die Wurst wurde als dünn geschnittene Radl serviert, begleitet von Baguette. Der Service hingegen verdient Lob für Freundlichkeit, Schnelligkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft. Das rustikale Ambiente des Restaurants trägt zu einer gemütlichen Stimmung bei.

Klassisch bayerisch. Service war, zumindest an der dem Tag, etwas langsam. Für abends gemütlich Essen gehen, völlig in Ordnung

Il cibo è ottimo e il servizio veloce e gentile. È un locale affollato e rumoroso, ma l'atmosfera è molto piacevole e i prezzi sono contenuti.

Gemtüliches Wirtshaus. Preislich sehr zu empfehlen, deutlich günstiger als vergleichbare Wirtshäuser Rund um den Marienplatz. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und die Portionen zum satt werden!

An absolute hidden gem! I was skeptical based on recent review but was hungry so decided to see for myself. Atmosphere was warm and cosy and I was immediately welcomed upon entry. I didn’t have a reservation but that didn’t seem to be an issue and I was seated promptly, the staff was also really accommodating even though it was super busy. The service I received from the staff was friendly and fast. I was informed they will do best with food but that is to be expected during busy lunch time. I had Cordon Blue and I have to say it was the best one I have ever had in Baveria and I have been here nearly 5 years. Highly recommend!

Gute, wechselnde Mittagsangebote. Der Service ist jetzt nicht brutal schnell, oder aufmerksam, man kriegt aber das was man möchte und freundlich waren bisher auch alle. Die Palatschinken waren noch leicht gefroren und hätten noch etwas länger in der Mikrowelle gebraucht. Das Restaurant hat eine gute Lage und es ist drinnen, sowie draußen sehr gemütlich.

Lecker lecker, authentisch. Preislich, gemessen an dem was andere Restaurants so aufrufen, absolut fair. 👌🏼

Almschnitzel war um 19.30 Uhr "tot gekocht" und stammte wohl vom Mittag oder Vortag (aufgewärmt, hart, trocken und lieblos auf dem Teller angerichtet). "Frischer Salat" als Beilage sieht anders aus, der stand wohl auch schon länger in der Küche.

Selten so etwas erlebt: Der Service war unter aller Kanone, nachdem die Bediehnung aus Versehen den Stuhl gegen mein Bein geschoben hat, musste ich mir anhören, dass ich doch selbst Schuld sei, wenn ich nicht gerade auf meinem Stuhl sitze. Nicht ärgern, sondern wundern sagt mein Großvater immer .. 😂

Euer Roastbeef ist ein Traum. Die Weißwüaschd vom Metzger Bauch sowieso. Man kommt gerne zu Euch - macht weiter so und bleibt so wie ihr seid! Gibt nur noch selten solche Wirtschaften in München!

Wir haben wieder einmal hervorragend gegessen, Gans vom feinsten! Aber auch bei unseren anderen Besuchen waren wir immer sehr zufrieden. Die Qualität der Speisen, die Preise und natürlich auch der Service sind einfach bayrisch sehr gut!

Wir sind um 17 Uhr im Restaurant erschienen. Die Bedienung nahm unsere Bestellung auf und ging heim. Der Schichtwechsel sollte hier genauer überprüft werden. Speisen konnten wir nicht probieren. da wir auch nach über einer Stunde nichts bekommen haben. Nachdem wir um 18:15 Uhr nachfragten wurden wir nur unwirsch behandelt. Keine Entschuldigung, keiner war zuständig. Um 18:30 Uhr haben wir die Gaststätte verlassen ohne etwas gegessen zu haben.
