Hervorragende Preise, besonders beim Mittagstisch aber auch generell. Ausgewogene und abwechslungsreiche Speisekarte, dennoch sind die Klassiker vertreten. Auch die Portionsgrößen sind wirklich top! Jederzeit wieder.

Wir waren eigentlich mit der Erwartung dort, einen gemütlichen Abend zu verbringen, wurden aber leider ziemlich enttäuscht. Das Essen war insgesamt eher mittelmäßig bis schlecht. Meine Schweinshaxe war zwar noch in Ordnung und das Augustiner Bier hat geschmeckt, aber das reicht leider nicht aus, um den Gesamteindruck zu retten. Beim Service hat es leider überhaupt nicht funktioniert. Mein Kollege musste zweimal nachfragen, bis sein Schweinsbraten endlich serviert wurde. Der Krautsalat wurde komplett vergessen und erst nach dreimaligem Nachfragen gebracht. So etwas sollte in einem Gasthaus wirklich nicht passieren. Den Abend komplett ruiniert hat dann allerdings die Kellnerin beim Bezahlen. Sie hat uns direkt nach Trinkgeld gefragt und sich anschließend auch noch über die Höhe des Trinkgelds beschwert. Wir sind Studenten und haben nun einmal kein unbegrenztes Budget. Sich am Ende des Abends dafür rechtfertigen zu müssen, wie viel Trinkgeld man gibt, war einfach unangenehm und respektlos. Dadurch hat die Kellnerin einen sehr unsympathischen Eindruck hinterlassen. Insgesamt leider eine enttäuschende Erfahrung. Schlechter Service, mehrere vergessene Bestellungen und ein wirklich unangenehmer Abschluss. Wir werden dieses Gasthaus definitiv nicht noch einmal besuchen.

Ein so gemütliches Lokal mit einer wundervollen Atmosphäre! Die Mitarbeiter waren unglaublich freundlich und zuvorkommend, und das Essen war einfach köstlich. Wir haben das traditionelle bayerische Frühstück mit Weißwurst probiert, und es war fantastisch. Wer authentische deutsche Küche erleben möchte, ist hier genau richtig. Absolut empfehlenswert! 🇩🇪🥨

Ursprüngliche Bewertung 2024: Ich tue mir sehr schwer wenn ich alle kürzlich veröffentliche Rezensionen durchlese und dies mit meinem heutigen Besuch vergleiche!? Zugegeben war ich das letzte Mal vor mehr als 15 Jahren in dieser Wirtschaft aber meiner Erinnerung nach war es eigentlich immer ganz in Ordnung(gut man muss auch sagen ich war sehr jung und anspruchslos) Aber heute wie gesagt eher enttäuscht! Ich fange mal mit dem positiven an… …ganz spontan einen Platz ohne Reservierung bekommen,schnell sowohl der Service als auch die Küche und natürlich Augustiner Bier. Aber das Essen…..,na ja! Pommes sowie Kartoffelknödel waren lauwarm und das ist schon sehr optimistisch ausgedrückt. Die Ente sehr trocken und so gut wie keine Sauce,schade! Wollte auch nichts sagen weil ich es eilig hatte. Also im groß und Ganzen kann ich nur sagen,entweder einen schlechten Tag erwischt oder meine Ansprüche sind sehr viel höher geworden!?

Ich kann Lokale wie dieses für typisch bayerische Küche wärmstens empfehlen, viel mehr als die sehr teuren Restaurants im Stadtzentrum. Dieses Restaurant in Schwabing bietet ein schönes und gemütliches Ambiente, um ein gutes Bier und leckeres Essen zu einem fairen Preis zu genießen. Neben typisch deutschen Gerichten gibt es hier auch sehr schmackhafte Burger! Der Service war schnell und sehr aufmerksam. Wir waren spät dort, und man informierte uns im Voraus über die Schließzeit der Küche, was ich äußerst zuvorkommend und wichtig fand, um Frustration oder Probleme zu vermeiden. Ich hatte einen sehr schönen Abend! Absolut empfehlenswert!

So gut es auch aussieht, das Fleisch hatte keinen Geschmack und war nicht richtig warm, die Bratensauce schmeckte wie billig fertig Mischung und die Kräuterbutter die es hätte retten können war so gefroren, dass das Fleisch endgültig sämtliche Wärme verloren hätte... Ein traditionelles deutsches Restaurant mit klassischer Augustiner-Einrichtung und angenehmer Atmosphäre. Gut geeignet für ein Bier.

Essen ok, Schnitzel war aber labbrig, Sauce hollandaise war von Thomy oder ähnliches Fertiprodukt. Am Ende wurde man von der Kellnerin rabiat mit einem halb vollen Glas rausgeworfen. Auf den Hinweis, dass andere Gäste ebenfalls noch sitzen würden, wurde nur erwidert, es handle sich um „Stammgäste“. Naja, wenn sie meinen. Ich gehe nächstes Mal dann lieber woanders hin … 🤷‍♂️

Uneingeschränkt positiv, immer noch. Kenne das Scheidegger seit ca. 40 Jahren, hat sich sehr verändert, natürlich. Ist aber immer noch ein etwas versteckter Stadtteilgasthof mit solider Küche und relativ zivilen Preisen und kaum Verkehr. Sehr schöner, gemütlicher und bei Hitze schattiger (Bäume Bauerstr.) Außenbereich im Sommer. Bier 0,5 l € 4,50, für eine gute Tasse Kaffee zahlt man knapp 3 Euro - inzwischen ist ein Pappbecher beim Höflinger teurer. Essen im Mittel ca. € 10-20. War in früheren Jahren mit Clique oft da, meist Abends. Waren schöne Zeiten.

Ein sehr gutes Restaurant. Meine Erasmus-Kommilitonen von EOI Maspalomas und ich waren dort, und das Essen war günstig und lecker.

Urige Münchner Gaststätte, süffiges Augustiner, gute und grosse Tageskarte mittags, von Schnitzel über Roulade zu Gröstl und Salate alles top. Supernette Bedienung, da fühlt man sich wohl, eine tolle Boazn, herzlichen Dank, echt zum Wohlfühlen.

Authentische Küche die in meinem Freundeskreis für super gute Schnitzel und super Portionen bekannt sind. Sind sehr oft hier zur finden.

Entspannte Atmosphäre - humane Preise

Lange habe ich nach einer guten, echten, und preislich nicht abgehobenen Wirtschaft hier in Schwabing West gesucht. Die Gaststätte Scheidegger ist genau das. Ein herrlich‘ Ort! Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und interessiert sich wirklich für die Gespräche, die so nervige Gäste wie ich gerne anzetteln. Ja, ich gehe tatsächlich in eine Wirtschaft, um mich des Lebens zu erfreuen, zu schwatzen, vielleicht zu flirten. Die kleinen Nicklichkeiten des Gesprächs werden aufgenommen, im Gegenteil: man wird gar gern immer wieder gesehen. Preislich finde ich die Gaststätte sehr in Ordnung. Vergleicht man das mit den Nachbarschaftslokalen – dann ist das Scheidegger um Welten humaner. Besonders zu loben ist der Barkeeper montags am Abend. Er hat einen überaus guten Musikgeschmack. Ich komme fortan immer wieder.

Das Almschitzel mit den gerösteten Knödeln und der Bratensoße hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Dazu gab es noch ein frisch gezapftes Augustiner aus dem Holzfass - einfach nur herrlich. Der Service war auf zack, aufmerksam und hatte für dass es am Freitag Abend recht voll war, immer noch gute Laune und hat Spaß mitgemacht. Da es am Abend gut besucht ist, empfehle ich zu reservieren.

Gute bayerische Wirtschaft mit lustiger und effizienter Bediengun

Empfehlenswert! Kleine Minuspunkte: Bei meinem Krustenbraten hätte ich mir gerne noch 1-2 Knödel mehr dazu gewünscht. Zudem bekommt man beim Bier meist keine 0,5l sondern tendenziell weniger. Ansonsten top!

Einfach eine nette Kneipe in der Nachbarschaft. Man kann auch an der Bar einfach mal eine Halbe mit einem Freund trinken ohne schief angesehen zu werden.

Mein absolutes Lieblingslokal in der Gegend. Die Mittagskarte ist groß und abwechslungsreich, die Portionen sind großzügig und das Personal sehr freundlich und geht auf Sonderwünsche ein.

Eine Institution schafft sich leider selbst ab. Der Service ist derart schlecht geworden, dass man als Gast das Gefühl vermittelt bekommt, nur lästig zu sein. Die Preise sind schier explodiert bei gleichzeitig stark zurückgehender Qualität. Als besonders frech empfinde ich die auf der Speisekarte angegebenen Preise für LEITUNGSWASSER! Ja, Leitungswasser kostet Geld und zwar nicht zu wenig. Für 0,5 Liter Leitungswasser werden 3,20€ fällig! Nachdem der Kubikmeter (1.000 Liter) Leitungswasser in München gerade einmal 2,19€ brutto kostet, ist das eine mächtige Marge von rund 3200%! In Kombination mit der nun erfolgten Mehrwertsteuersenkung von 19 auf 7% völliges Unverständnis.

Wie immer sehr lecker. Top Service. Schnell. Freundlich. Gute bayerische bodenständige Küche. Wirtshaus Charakter.

Friendly service, a typical Bavarian atmosphere, and mostly delicious food, even if there were a few shortcomings. Because of the comparatively good prices, I'm still giving it 5 stars. Not perfect, but significantly better than elsewhere.

Unfortunately, the service was extremely unfriendly – ​​we had to leave. We were at this restaurant yesterday and were really looking forward to a nice evening. Unfortunately, the service completely ruined our plans. The woman responsible for table assignments and reservations was particularly unpleasant. From the very beginning, her demeanor was extremely unfriendly and disrespectful. As guests, we were addressed in an inappropriate tone, at times even shouted at – something we have never experienced before. The situation escalated to such an extent that we ultimately felt compelled to leave the restaurant. Such behavior towards guests is absolutely unacceptable and leaves a very negative impression. It's a shame, because regardless of the food or ambiance, a restaurant visit stands or falls on the service – and in our case, it was unfortunately extremely rude and off-putting.

A down-to-earth restaurant with good Bavarian food, friendly service and decent beer at fair prices.

Despite the traditional German "service," the traditional German cuisine is beyond reproach! The staff is very friendly and offers helpful advice on choosing dishes. There's a large selection of vegetarian dishes, for those who appreciate it. Overall, it's truly delicious!

The Bavarian restaurant offered great service and a good atmosphere, although it was quite loud on Saturday evening – it was also incredibly crowded. The food was good, but there were a few minor shortcomings (such as the fried potatoes...).

Scheidegger is an excellent spot for an after-work beer or a spontaneous, hearty meal! It's especially lovely in the summer, sitting outside under the trees or in the beer garden—it's less cozy inside, but perfectly fine. It's a traditional pub, after all! The food and beer taste just as good indoors as they do out! See you soon! ;) (Reservations are essential on Fridays and Saturdays!)

We found Gaststätte Scheidegger online, noted high reviews, and arrived without a reservation to still luckily snag a table before it got busy. Our server was very helpful and recommended a great variety of dishes, all of which we enjoyed. We also took the dessert recommendation which was delicious too. The atmosphere is very nice and the service was good. All the food was very tasty and it was a lovely experience overall. I'd recommend a reservation and certainly recommend checking it out. As a note, the menu is only in German but the server was very kind to talk us through the highlights.

We had dinner here on a Sunday evening, after some locals recommended it to us and it was just perfect. The place has a great variety of Bavarian dishes. Everything we had was scrumptious: Schnitzel (veal escalope), Käsespätzle (noodles with grated cheese and fried onions), and Kaiserschmarrn (fluffy shredded pancakes served with apple sauce) for dessert, along with traditional beer. The staff was super sweet and helpful. They made us feel right at home, like we were regulars. We will definitely be back!

Actually, a nice and cozy Augustiner restaurant, but the food is unfortunately not worth the money. The onion roast beef ordered medium was served overcooked. The side dishes also tasted of nothing, and the ready-made sauce was bad. Unfortunately, not a recommended location.

Traditional German restaurant. Which surprisingly is harder and harder to find in Munich. In the summer they will be crowded (with mostly Germans not tourists) so the staff may seem hurried or you may share a table which is very traditional and normal, we did. We couldn't get an outside seat so we ate inside. (Would rather have been outside perhaps I should rage post against the restaurant which seems the norm now) The food is very good and they serve Augustiner Bier. If you are looking for traditional German food in a non tourist area this is a good choice.

We wanted to make a reservation here for 25 people after my child's baptism. At first we were told over the phone that we should call later because it was lunchtime. In the afternoon we were told it could only be done in writing. Our email confirmed the reservation with the words "until Friday". After being informed that the date was a Sunday, we were then confirmed again that it was now correctly entered (they had probably made a mistake with the month). When we got there, unfortunately, despite our best efforts, the reservation was not entered. But since the place wasn't particularly busy, mind you at lunchtime, we were able to stay anyway. When we paid, it was mentioned that a 10 percent tip is always MUST be given for "events". Apart from the fact that we would have done that anyway because that's what you do, I find that really cheeky under the circumstances. I would have expected a little something on the house because the reservation was simply forgotten. The food was good as always, hence the 2 stars.

Scheidegger is an absolute institution in Schwabing-West. The home-style food is of good quality, the prices are very fair, the service is friendly, attentive, and professional (sadly a rarity in Munich these days), and the Augustiner on tap is second to none. Since this restaurant is certainly no longer an insider tip, reservations are recommended, even during the week.

We once wanted to eat a currywurst with fries in Bavaria to see how it tasted. We then drove here and were unfortunately disappointed by the currywurst. The menu says it is a (red bratwurst) but this is just a Bockwurst that has been warmed up and the curry sauce is not a curry sauce, it is some other sauce. We cannot say what exactly (it tasted like a cheap version of curry ketchup). We had to wait almost an hour for the other dish and order it twice and that was the Kaiserschmarrn and it was very tasty.

Wow, what's going on at Scheidegger? We've always loved eating here; it's cozy, the food is very good, and the prices are still very fair. We were there again on June 19th (a public holiday). A look at the menu... it's gotten quite expensive. OK in these times. But unfortunately, the quality of the food has declined considerably. The mountain farmer's schnitzel had shrunk considerably. Instead of potatoes, there were simply toasted dumplings on the plate. These were swimming in a lot of oil. My daughter's veggie burger was delivered in a hard, burnt Kaiser roll. They said they'd sold out of brioche buns. The price was still around €18. The excellent service made up for a lot. All five of us were disappointed. New but clearly worse chef? Extreme cost-cutting? Not like that.

We were there for dinner. The service was friendly and the food was good. The value for money was good for us. One star deducted for the service because our side dishes were delivered incorrectly. You can also sit outside with your dog.

We went to the restaurant so two small children could eat. I couldn't eat anything myself, as I have to follow a strict diet for medical reasons. However, I was embarrassed because I had my medical drink (shake) with me. Perhaps I should have asked beforehand if I could bring it—I can see that. Yes, perhaps that was my mistake. But the way the waiter treated me hurt me deeply. Her words were: "This isn't a beer garden, you should have asked beforehand. That's not how things are done in Germany." I was close to tears. There are simple, respectful ways to speak to guests. I've never experienced anything like this—we're never coming back.

Rustic restaurant, friendly service, fast food, but unfortunately, just not good. It looked perfectly fine, but I'm not sure if the chef had ever eaten cheese spaetzle. It didn't taste like much, just creamy. A disappointment. The schnitzel was very small and oily compared to other restaurants. The fried potatoes weren't fried potatoes, but potatoes that had been lightly tossed in a pan.

Tried going here for lunch. Waited 40 minutes for food after ordering only for our server to tell us one of our orders was no longer available, not even offering an apology for the long wait. We left shortly after without ever eating Rude waitress. Terrible service

Unfortunately, it took a very long time before we were even served or even noticed. The staff were more concerned with themselves. The soup was too salty, some of the food was lukewarm. The food arrived after 45 minutes, and before the main course was even served, the cashier had already taken the check!! I haven't been there in a while... it hasn't worked out to its advantage. A shame.

I was truly disappointed. A simple salad with some vegetables cost a whopping €19—which I honestly think is completely excessive. The portion was also rather meager and disproportionate to the price. The service was also disappointing: During the entire visit, no one asked if everything was okay or if we wanted anything else. Overall, unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it.

The food and drinks were generally okay. The burger is a bit overpriced, but it still tastes good. After the food and drinks were served, we were not asked once if everything was OK, even when the drinks were finished, there was no question as to whether we would like anything else. (We sat outside alone, so it wasn't due to overexertion). The two waitresses sat at the table next to us and smoked in complete peace, chatting and laughing the whole time, although they could have also asked us if we would like anything else. When I wanted to pay, I had to go into the restaurant myself. The waitress suddenly couldn't find our order in the system, so she quickly added everything up and reported the total. Now it's coming! After this type of service, I was asked if I wanted to give a tip and I said “not this time”. As I was leaving, I heard people blaspheming me afterwards that my answer to the tip wasn't this time. All in all, the food and drinks were absolutely fine, the service needed improvement or getting used to (a matter of perspective 😃).

A cozy Bavarian restaurant with friendly service and delicious food, offering excellent value for money. If you're on vacation in Munich, this could be a good alternative to some other Bavarian restaurants. Consider making a reservation, as it gets very busy.

I was last here in 2019 and nothing has changed. The atmosphere is typically cozy and the young waitresses are very attentive and friendly. The food is beyond reproach. Judging by the price anyway. We'll come back immediately.

Mir san aus München und somit Oberbayern! Dementsprechend können wir Unfreundlichkeit mit am gewissen sympathischen bayrischen Grant unterscheiden! Zudem eine Frechheit was auf dem Mittags Teller an Fleisch liegt / Nix! Und paar Kartoffeln zum sättigen für 11€! Mir WAREN Stammgäste und ziehen jetzt weiter….vor allem oder eigentlich nur die weibliche Bedienung ein ABSOLUTES Nogo!!! Des kannst daheim machen, aber nicht mit Gästen!!!!
