The service and food were exceptionally good. The Kaiserschmarrn is especially recommended. The place was constantly full. Whenever a table became available, it was immediately taken. Nevertheless, I didn't find it too loud or crowded; the atmosphere was cozy. The host was understandably under constant stress, which some might consider rude and rude, but he made an effort to be friendly. Finally, a compliment about the food, which I very, very rarely give: It tasted as if my wife had cooked it. No stars for the room, as I was only there for dinner.

The entire service team was super friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and freshly cooked. The portions were generous. The prices were reasonable, so it must be said that the value for money was absolutely top-notch. The entire team was also very child-friendly. The kids loved their ice cream. We'd love to come back when we're in the area.

Tonight, after cycling 100 kilometers, I arrived here and met the wonderful and kind-hearted Alex, the owner of this hotel. I told him that I had come all the way from the Netherlands by bike and that I’m on my way to Turkey for a charity cause to help sick children. This amazing man generously gave me a room free of charge, and now I’m enjoying a delicious dinner. Everything is perfect and full of flavor. The place and the restaurant have such a warm and friendly atmosphere, with kind and welcoming staff. Alex, you are truly a great man!

A quaint inn, 500 years old, with furnishings from the last century, but that gives it so much charm. The food is amazing, and the prices are amazing. Highly recommended for those who like hearty food.

I have to say, unfortunately, that I ate by far the worst roast beef with onions you'll find in the area. The fried potatoes were cold, pale, and had probably never seen the pan. The meat was riddled with tendons and gristle, so much so that you couldn't even cut through it with a carving knife. If that were just me, you could call it an oversight, but everyone at my table and the table next to me said the same thing. The food was also unseasoned. The service was friendly. It's a shame, but we probably won't be coming back.

Unfortunately, the food isn't good at all. The portions are large, but the hygiene is absolutely poor. 90 percent pork, consequently, the long-standing clientele. The kitchen is in dire need of modernization!

We ordered dinner for 8 people on Saturday evening. Everything was excellent, from the salad and schnitzel to the omelet. Generous portions, unbeatable value for money. Everything was prepared and presented with love (in the packaging). All the staff were super friendly. I would definitely recommend it.

I visited the brewery-restaurant and was absolutely thrilled! The roast pork with spaetzle was outstanding – tender, flavorful, and a truly generous portion. And all at an unbeatable price! The house beer was also truly delicious and perfectly complemented the meal. If you're looking for good food and a freshly tapped beer in a cozy atmosphere, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!

We visited the Hirschbräu as we were looking somewhere to eat on our way to Stuttgart from Munich. And that was a very lucky find! The restaurant is small but with a very nice character. We were greeted with politeness and humor and that made our lunch very enjoyable! The service is excellent and the food came very timely. The portion was very large and the taste was excellent with really fresh ingredients. I would totally recommend it for lunch but even for a nice evening dinner to relax with some good food and beer. And I will definitely stop by again if I am ever again in the locality!

Excellent, home-style cooking with generous portions and fair prices! In summer, there's a beer garden with a beautiful view of the castle. Definitely worth a visit, but it's best to reserve a table in advance by phone. The restaurant is always very busy. Be sure to try the Kaiserschmarrn or the Apfelküchle (sweet pancakes) for dessert—they're dreamy!

When you enter the premises you come into a real Bavarian inn. The staff is very accommodating and you are immediately taken by their hospitality. The menu is clear and the result is excellent food. The home-brewed beer is awesome. The black beer is divine. 14 years of just driving past and always deciding to come back. From now on it will be an integral part of every visit to Leipheim.

Great value for money.. I thought I was back in 2019 price. Food was good and especially like it with large salad.

Best Käsknöpfle or as they say here Kässpätzle in all of southern Germany. Eat it everywhere - it can compete with the original from Liechtenstein, Switzerland and Austria. It is even served with applesauce if desired, which is how it really tastes. The beers are also excellent!

Rustic restaurant with very good, down-to-earth cuisine

First of all: We come to this restaurant every now and then and shouldn't actually recommend it to anyone else because we would increase the influx and then have the problem of getting a seat ourselves. But nonetheless: The main courses taste very good. In the evening, peak times are between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., so it's better to make a reservation. The service is very friendly and quick. The price/performance ratio is right. On average, a lunch with 2 drinks costs around €20. The facility is older, but it creates a pleasant atmosphere. Parking spaces are available. All in all, you can say with a clear conscience that you won't be disappointed here and that you'll still be hungry after your meal, because the portions are larger than in many other restaurants.

We actually wanted to have lunch here, but the hallway and the toilet alone made us leave. 🤢 There was urine on the floor of the men's toilet and there was an open sewer pipe in the wall. There was once another urinal connected at this point. This “construction site” was not covered but instead a scented stone was placed in the open sewer pipe. A sink was blocked, the misery was clearly visible here too - there was wastewater in it (yellow/brown and smelly) and the tap was missing. There can be construction sites anywhere, but open drains etc. can still be covered! The hallway wasn't in a good condition either and it didn't smell good.

Oi, joi, joi… it’s good here!! I would prefer to give a bad review so that there is always a table available for me. But that would be a lie. I just come an extra 30km here. A quaint restaurant. Without shi-shi, like it was in my youth. Nothing more is needed. The food is unsurpassedly delicious. Grandma still cooks here and the grandson serves. Perfect! The best Swabian cuisine and a comfortable evening. The soups are homemade and hot. My tip: The roast pork!! Tender and with great sauce and homemade spaetzle. If you still have room, you have to try the Kaiserschmarrn. Thanks again to grandma! You can't cook better. (The potato salad!!!) The toilets are a small minus, but who cares about the kitchen... Please stay like that!! Don't change anything!!

We were there with the family, the floor to the toilets leaves a lot to be desired. There were stains on the wall and it also smelled extremely bad. The women's toilet was relatively okay, the floor wasn't clean but otherwise usable. The food was simply a complete disgrace, not only that a portion was completely forgotten to be served and was only served after an hour of waiting, but also the timing. While the first person was almost finished eating, mine arrived just a few minutes later. The worst food I've ever eaten! The Kaiserschmarren was simply disgusting, there was no sugar at all and it was already floating around in the fat, the inside was still raw dough. The cordon bleu was very difficult to cut but edible. The fries were somewhat ok. The schnitzel was just as difficult to cut. the “big” salad plate is not worth the 10€! There was no salt, pepper or vinegar and it tasted completely like water. The size of the salad is almost the same size as the salad you get as a side dish, only there is a little more potato salad. The pork medallions were pure horror, they just tasted like old burnt fat and oily, as if they had been made in the pan in which everything was fried for 20 years. The spaetzle tasted fatty and just burnt. Overall just disgusting and not recommended.

I have never eaten so badly in the last 20 years. We were there with 8 people. It took over 60 minutes from taking the order to serving it. The food came with a delay. The food was presented very carelessly (just placed on one corner of the table and we had to hand it to ourselves) and served. The last person only got the food when everyone else had already finished eating. The side salads were prepared very differently, one had beetroot and the other had red cabbage etc. Salad dressing was missing everywhere and it just didn't taste like anything. The salad plate was just a little bigger. The Kaiserschmarrn was the biggest outrage ever. It looked like scrambled eggs and was drowned in fat, neither sweet nor well done rather fried. The schnitzels were perfectly fried. My pork medallions with spaetzle and mushroom sauce only tasted like rancid old burnt fat. Some of the mushrooms were still raw inside and drowned in fat. The medallions tasted sour. The spaetzle was greasy and burnt. My stomach emptied itself into the toilet at home after about 45 minutes. The innkeeper had a hard time adding up the order and asked the children to do the math on their cell phones. Once and never again.

Special location but delicious and inexpensive food

The food tasted good. The salad plate is an outrage. It's barely bigger than the side salad. The service is a total disaster. Our table was occupied by 6 people. The dishes were served at a long interval. The landlord was not very friendly and completely overwhelmed. Many dishes were already out today (Monday). It was very cold in the dining room. The tiled stove, which had been lit recently, barely brought any heat to our table. We won't be coming back again. This is not how you treat your guests.

Such restaurants have become really rare these days. Great food, very tasty, enormous portions, relatively cheap prices. The service staff is well trained and very friendly. The ambience impresses with its rustic charm. There were four of us as guests, we had cream schnitzel, salads, soups, cordon bleu and pork medallions with mushrooms, and as a result we were all stuffed and very satisfied. Located almost directly at the castle, absolute five stars

However, the portions could be larger, I wasn't full. The ambience in the restaurant was also nice. Since there are only a few tables available, it is better to make a reservation.
