Very unfriendly staff. Eating is like that. Nice location. But the staff......

They recently raised their prices. €5.10 for a bottle of beer, a €1.30 increase, bordering on outrageous. Across the street at the Café am See, it's only €4.00, and the food tastes much better.

Very casual restaurant, but the food... expensive, poor quality and bland, but travelers are often hungry.

I'm happy to come here for a beer or a concert.

Gaststätte Hauptbahnhof was an insider tip in Tübingen for many years – but since Corona, the quality of service and food has dropped dramatically and prices have risen steadily. The menu has been constantly downsized and now only offers deep-fat fryers such as schnitzel with chips or fried chicken and sauce from a 5-litre vat. The waiters are impatient, forgetful, unfriendly - sometimes even aggressive (I couldn't believe the decline compared to a few years ago!). Such a shame, but after countless tries, I’m just giving up and will not return.

Ambience very nice....unfortunately the quality of the food has deteriorated a lot...ready-made sauces, sand in the salad....I also had a stomach ache afterwards, service ok, but obviously not an expert....It's a shame, we really enjoyed going there years ago

Delicious food at reasonable prices, staff mostly very friendly but sometimes a bit tense when it's busy. The ambiance only gets 3 stars because the restrooms really need to be renovated, but otherwise, I'm always happy to come back.

Hmm... this restaurant in front of the station is either a bar or a restaurant, but don't expect much. The prices are reasonable, the menu is quite varied, and there's an English menu, but it's not exactly a famous restaurant. There are two reasons to visit this place: First, because it's right next to the station, you need a quick bite to eat while waiting for your train. Second, you can get a close look at how local Germans enjoy their evenings. Honestly, I prefer these places over the restaurants listed on Naver blogs near tourist attractions. Those places are expensive and scripted, claiming to cater to tourists. But places like this really give you a taste of what it's like to travel. When you come to Germany, aren't you curious about what Germans do for fun? I am. In that sense, this bar and restaurant has a truly local German atmosphere. Give it a try!

Delicious Leberkäse (liver sausage) with delicious, crispy fried potatoes. Delicious as always. We'd love to come again. 🫶

Unfortunately, the quality of the food has declined significantly. Lots of ready-made schnitzel and packet sauce, not particularly tasty. Many dishes were on the menu, but were simply prepared. That wasn't the case before, either. The ambiance and service were good.

I was very pleased with my visit to the restaurant at the train station in Tübingen. The food arrived quickly, and the atmosphere was pleasant and inviting. My rump steak was well-prepared and flavorful; there was really nothing to complain about. But the highlight of the evening was the chicken in pepper sauce with mushrooms that my friend ordered (Ticino Rösti). It tasted almost perfect; we both absolutely loved it. We were completely satisfied and would gladly return. We almost forgot to mention the great music. :)

A rustic, wood-paneled atmosphere, ideal for fitness breakfasts (oatmeal), fitness lunches (spätzle with gravy), and fitness dinners (beer). Even the guests are quaint, especially my quaint colleague Robin and his former quaint colleague Tall Jacques, or rather, he's the former colleague from the Goat Baron, who's now had an update and isn't quite so quaint anymore ☹️.

Prices have increased quite a bit recently. 🫤 Very unfortunate... Homepage also needs to be urgently adjusted.

I ate there for the first time with my husband today. He already knew it from his colleagues and had been there several times. The atmosphere is rustic and a bit older. But still cozy and inviting. The service and the staff is very good and friendly. Above all, the prices there are still “normal” compared to other restaurants where you get less food for more money. I can recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes to eat home-style cuisine. There is also a lot on the menu for vegetarians. The cheese spaetzle with the small salad was great! Big compliments to the kitchen. My husband also liked the baked meatloaf with sauce and fried potatoes.

The restaurant is somehow quaint. That alone is worth 5 stars. Everything else also fits, the prices are fair

It was like that 15 years ago. Still recommended. Very friendly, even though it's "just" a train station restaurant. But the prices here have also been adjusted upwards...

The atmosphere in the wood-panelled old station restaurant is lovely. The food was moderate, mediocre at best. The service was a bit uninterested and cautious. You don't necessarily have to have it

Eine schöne typische Bahnhofskneipe,die leider aussterben.

El mejor bar de Tübingen, dentro de la estación. Gente amable, buena cerveza y precios adecuados. 100% recomendado. Buena música y hay conciertos. También tienen comida a la hora del almuerzo a buenos precios.

Ich esse schon öfter im Bahnhof und mag die Pommes sehr. Zuletzt wurden zum Mittagstisch Katoffelpuffer mit Grillgemüse angeboten. Ich bekam Grillgemüse mit Kartoffelbrei serviert. Auf Nachfragen antwortete der junge Kellner, ich hätte das ja bestellt. Ich zeigte ihm die Karte, er ging in die Küche und richtete mir aus die Kartoffelpuffer seien alle. Das Essen war breiig bis auf den Salat. Draussen waren die Züge diesmal recht laut.

Essen war lauwarm ( Rahmspinat war verkocht, mit Spiegelei (war teilweise roh) und Bratkartoffeln ( waren zerbrutzelt)

Sehr angenehmer Ort für einen "Alltags-Gaststätten-Besuch" mit schmackhaftem Essen zu gutem Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.

Ich saß zum Frühstück draußen, was schön war. Die Bedienung war prompt, und freundlich bis neutral. Leider war der Kaffee nicht heiß (Geschmack war gut!) und Lippenstift an der Tasse. Das Frühstück fand ich mittelmäßig, die Backwaren, Käse und Schinken schienen von günstiger Supermarkt-Qualität, einzeln verpackte Butter, Marmelade. Das Rührei war eine gute Portion, jedoch sehr ölig. Schlechter Geruch auf der Toilette.

Freundliches Personal, direkt mit Zaun zum Gleis 1. leider war das Cordon Bleu etwas sehr klein, geschmacklich aber top.

Essener trinken Student Rente diese Gaststätte ist für jeden Alter gut, ist sehr oft Live Musik,eine Ambiente 😀 wo jede Menschen egal wie alt sind, , welche Beruf hat ,ob Professor, oder angestellt,,fühle sich gut, ist auch groß,in Sommer kannst draußen essen ,bar für Getränke ,schwäbische essen, italienisch Gericht . kannst du mitnehmen, jeden Abend ist voller won Menschen in jeden alt verschiedene Rassen ,ob weiß, schwarz, gelb,ist , egal verschieden Ausländer ,Student,arbeite ,für jeden Menschen ist dieser Gaststätte gut fast jeden Tag ist voller Automatik für Spiele, wenn jemand spielt Klavier,ist auch eine da darf Mann 🎹 , Billiard auch.mir hat gefallen , interessant Menschen triffst du. Urige Traditionskneipe/Gasthaus. Recht grosse Karte und Preise angemessen. Bedienung freundlich.

Umfangreiche Speisekarte von 8:30 Uhr bis 23 Uhr. Solide Hausmannskost. Empfehlen kann ich Griechischen Hirtensalat, Flammkuchen und Zwiebelrostbraten. Gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis. Weinkarte könnte vielfältiger sein. Gemütliches Ambiente mit Blick auf die Züge. Im Sommer auch Außensitzplätze an Gleis 1. Buntes Publikum aus allen Altersklassen.

Ich kenne die Gaststätte seit 20 Jahren. Früher ein cooler Ort, an dem man für einen fairen Preis lecker essen konnte . Ich hatte schon länger nichts dort gegessen, das erste Mal wieder nach Jahren etwas zu essen bestellt. Ich bin regelrecht erschrocken, das Essen lieblos auf den Teller geklatscht, in sehr fragwürdiger Qualität. Was mir auch auffällt, dass da am Nachmittag mehrere Alkoholiker abhängen. Klar, die müssen auch irgendwo hin.. Die Bedienung ist zwar nicht unfreundlich aber freundlich kann man sie auch nicht nennen. Sehr schade.

Nettes Ambiente, das Essen war geschmacklich gut jedoch war die Portion dem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht gerechtfertigt. Wenn ein Cordon Blue so groß wie die Zitrone ist, dann ist das für mich definitiv zu wenig auf dem Teller.

Die Gaststätte Hauptbahnhof überrascht positiv. Während der Rest des Bahnhofs doch eher der klassisch, schmuddelige Bahnhof ist, scheinen hier die hygienischen Standarts deutlich höher zu sein. Das Personal ist freundlich und versteht sein Handwerk. Wer nur kurz ein Bier trinken möchte, ist hier genau so richtig wie derjenige, der etwas leckeres essen möchte.

Nostalgisches Ambiente mit freundlicher Bedienung, leckeres Essen und guten Preisen.

Früher gab‘s hier richtig gutes Essen zu günstigen Preisen. Leider musste ich jetzt feststellen, dass die Qualität stark nachgelassen hat. Der Wurstsalat ist wohl nur mit Wasser angemacht (?), Penne mit Fertigsauce. 2 Sterne gibts nur für das Ambiente und die Bedienung.

Wunderbares Ambiente und gute Portionen zu adäquaten Preisen.
