You get good food served with Thuringian flair. The original Thuringian monasteries, which only exist on Sundays, are the crowning glory. Hopefully this beautiful hut will stay with us for a long time.

A mountain hut as it should be, really rustic in a beautiful landscape. The food is very good, fresh, tasty, plentiful.

Our hiking group had lunch in the log cabin today - after prior reservation - and we were completely satisfied: Great service, nice staff, delicious food and good value for money...what more could you want? We'd love to come back!

We have been guests at the Blockhaus every now and then for many years when we are in Thuringia from North Rhine-Westphalia. We always enjoy being here because everything is just right here. So this year I celebrated my 70th birthday here at Otto. As always, it was great and everyone enjoyed it here. The food was delicious, the staff was always friendly and accommodating. You feel welcome here, just like at home. Big praise to Otto and his daughter as well as to all the service employees. Keep it up and stay healthy. Kind regards from Annelie and Siggi from Dinslaken. We were invited to Otto's Blockhaus for his birthday on August 10th, 2024. We were also allowed to stay with our motorhome overnight. The food and service were great and we'll stop by when we're in the area again. Otto stay as you are, stay healthy, you're a bomb

Today we hiked from the holiday home in Hinternah to the log cabin. The food was very tasty and at very fair prices, the staff was very polite and accommodating. We definitely recommend you. Thank you for this lovely stay.

The food is excellent and plentiful. Otherwise everyone has to decide for themselves whether they like it or not. In any case, we are completely satisfied and always go home with a good feeling.

We took a Sunday trip to the Schleusinger area and spontaneously “landed” in the log cabin. We were surprised at the many cars and the many reserved tables, as it is "ONLY" an excursion restaurant on the mountain!!! 😉 Now we know why!😇👍 Super friendly staff from boss Otto to the service staff and kitchen staff (family business)...we got Nevertheless, since everything was occupied and reserved, there was still a place allocated at the regulars' table 🙏. The food is REALLY homemade home cooking, from sauerbraten and roulades to all types of salad on my menu "Farmer's salad", fast, attentive service and great atmosphere....We felt completely at home and would be happy to come back (but then with advance notice 😉) Thank you very much, keep it up 🍀

This was the lunch stop from our motorcycle meeting. Fair prices, good food, friendly staff and a fantastic location. I liked it and tasted it.

The location is in a great location and scores points, among other things, with a great view of the Thuringian Forest. The food is the best home cooking, tastes great and the portions are large. The staff is very friendly. The furnishings are very comfortable. Important to call and reserve before visiting. The log cabin is very popular and therefore well attended.

We always enjoy coming back. The world is still in order here and the food is simply delicious and very filling.

We've been here a few times, always very good. Price/performance top, very comfortable, nice and secluded, if you know your way around you can go for a nice hike. Very good cuisine, the food is delicious every time. With dumpling dishes you don't have to order extra sauce, there is always enough on the plate, just like the Thuringians need 😅We'll be back 😊

Everything is fine; However, you should always register by telephone; otherwise there is no space; at least in the cold season.

Eine sehr gute Waldgaststätte mit schmackhafter Hausmannskost. Mittags gibt es Thüringer Klöße und div. Braten sowie verschiedene Wildgerichte. An der Abendkarte gibt's auch nichts zu meckern. Die Preise sind für die großen Positionen sehr moderat. Öffnungszeiten sind Freitag, Samstag und Sonntag. Aufgrund der Beliebtheit sollte man vorher unbedingt anrufen. Das Personal ist äußerst freundlich.

Leckeres Essen in üppigen Portionen an einem sehr schönen Ort. Danke an den netten Wirt, dem die Zufriedenheit seiner Gäste wahrlich am Herzen liegt.

Mega gut ! Wir waren als 4 köpfige kleine Familie dort und wurden netterweise noch vor der 30mann starken anderen Crew bedient > vorallem die kleinen Kinder fanden das toll. Dann hat sich auch noch Otto der Chef mit nem Bierchen zu uns gesetzt und wir konnten uns mal Kennenlernen und quatschen 😀 sehr sympathisch der Mann und die Tochter / das Team eine sehr gute Köchin . Eine riesenschaukel gibt es noch , siehe Bild ;) Es war lecker und alles hat gepasst, ALLES! Kann ich nur empfehlen

Wir wurden freundlich begrüßt und bewirtet. Das Essen hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Hier kann man am besten vorher reservieren.

Un posto familiare è gestito semplicemente. Piatti molto abbondanti e ricchi di condimenti. Cotoletta con crema di funghi molto buona

Eine meiner Lieblingsgaststätten! Die urige Einrichtung am Waldrand mit Blick Richtung Vessertal lockt viele Wanderer an. Man kann in der Gaststube oder auf der verglasten Terrasse gutes Essen mit großen Portionen zu fairen Preisen genießen. Ich mag am Liebsten die Forelle aus dem Vessertal. Eisspezialitäten gibt's es als Nachtisch. Nach dem Essen bietet sich ein Spaziergang auf den anliegenden Wanderrouten an.

Eine sehr sehr schöne Gaststätte und der Betreiber mit seinem Team sind der Hammer. Das Essen sehr sehr gut vorzüglich. Die Portionen auch sehr reichlich. Ich komme bald wieder versprochen.

Otto, bleib uns noch lange erhalten! Schöne Hütte außerhalb, sehr gutes Essen und guten Preisen, alle sind nett und auch wenn die Bedienung manchmal nicht immer gleich zur Stelle ist, sind sie immer freundlich und machen alles möglich! Ein kleiner Geheimtipp!

Wahnsinn, die Portionen, der Geschmack und der Service. Kinder und Hunde werden sehr freundlich empfangen, absolut empfehlenswert .

Wir sind heute mit guten Freunden spontan in diese nette und gemütliche Gaststätte eingekehrt. Erstmal hat uns der Besitzer sehr nett empfangen ,und gut unterhalten und auch bei der Bestellung mit viel Witz und Satire unterhalten. Anschließend kamen schnell und prompt die Getränke ohne groß zu warten. Das Essen auch ein Hochgenuss zu sehr fairen Preisen. Gerne kommen wir wieder…und wir haben uns vorgenommen etwas in der Region wandern zu gehen. Also nochmal Fazit: Gut, Uhrig, entspannt essen gehen da ist man hier genau richtig aufgehoben. Lg nochmal an den Wirt und sein Team 😉

Wir kommen immer her wenn wir zu Besuch in Breitenbach bei St Kilian sind. Das Essen ist der Hammer. Auch preislich. Zum Vergleich bei uns im Süden zahlen wir locker 10 € pro Gericht mehr. Bei den Getränken sieht das genauso aus. Der Service ist mega familiär. Der Besitzer kommt und redet auch immer mit einem(ob allgemein oder weil er mit unseren Verwandten sehr gut befreundet ist kann ich nicht beurteilen) Wer Sonntags In der Nähe ist muss einen Braten mit Klößen dort essen!!

Essen ist super lecker! Bedienung freundlich und die Preise sind der Hammer. Wo bekommt man heute noch ein Essen mit Wild für 15 EUR? Ein Ausflug lohnt sich!

Beim Otto ist es einfach immer nett. Urige Blockhauskneipe im Thüringer Wald, immer einen Besuch wert. Hier bedient der Wirt auch noch hin und wieder selbst, unterhält mit lustigen und interessanten Geschichten.

Alles super. Essen ganz lecker, Servic klasse und Einrichtung der Hütte richtig toll.

Down to earth local cuisine. Just a selected amount of dishes well performed. Very friendly host, makes you feel welcome straight away. There is also a menu for kids.
