Very delicious, first time since the new owner took over the restaurant. We used to eat there often under the previous owner and were very satisfied. The new owner is very nice and friendly!!! Service 5 out of 5 stars, very nice and friendly!! We will gladly come again.

Athos is simply fantastic. Great food, perfect service, and excellent value for money. You feel right at home. I've been eating there since I was a child, and in over 35 years, it's always been absolutely wonderful.

We went here for dinner this evening after a long time, as we thought the restaurant was closed. The food was really delicious, and everyone was very friendly and attentive. We'd gladly come again.

We ate at Restaurant Athos and were satisfied with the food itself – it tasted good. The meat was fine. The fries definitely have room for improvement. The ouzo with orange juice (or something similar) that was served at the end was delicious. The waiters were friendly and attentive. However, the furnishings are visibly dated. A little modernization would certainly improve the ambiance. One point is deducted for the way we were handled with seating: Upon entering, we were asked if we had a reservation. After confirming, we were shown to a table in the front or given the option of walking further back, where two more tables were available. When we finally sat down and were about to order, we were asked to move to a different table – with the explanation that this table was reserved for other guests. Even though the restaurant was very busy, which I understand, I would have preferred to be shown directly to a suitable table. As it was, the whole experience unfortunately left a somewhat disorganized impression. ``` For my companion this was no problem, but for me personally it was a clear drawback.

We visited the popular Athos restaurant on December 3rd, 2025. Our table, reserved for 11 people (8 adults and 3 children) for a birthday celebration, was ready and waiting. The staff were friendly and patient in taking our orders. We were treated with such attentive service throughout the evening, never feeling rushed or pressured! The new owner clearly knows his business. From the ambiance and service to the delicious food, everything was exceptionally good. We will definitely be back!

Hey! After avoiding this restaurant for years because I felt it wasn't good value for money, I decided to check it out again after the change of ownership. And I have to say, I was totally surprised! The difference is huge! The service is fantastic. The waiters are incredibly friendly and efficient, and you can tell they really care about the guests. The food? Simply delicious! Every bite was a delight. And the complimentary dessert? Heavenly! The best part? The value is truly excellent! You really pay a fair price for the quality you get. You definitely get more for your money here! This restaurant is now my new favorite, and I highly recommend it to everyone!

I went there again after several years. I'd only heard good things about it beforehand. There were three of us, and we were all very impressed. The service was excellent, and of course, the food was delicious.

Whenever there are five Wednesdays a month, we go out to a restaurant – and this time it was Athos' turn. The young Greek owner, Evgenios, saved the restaurant from closing and runs it with so much passion. There were 19 of us from the Pflege Plus senior center, and we received such a warm welcome that we immediately felt at ease – that's really not something you can take for granted everywhere. Our seats were beautifully prepared, the table lovingly set, and the food was delicious! Even though the restaurant was packed, the entire team went out of their way to ensure everyone found a seat and was well looked after. They even helped us out when we left – that's true humanity with heart! As a little surprise, we were given a complimentary dessert – such a lovely gesture! We had a wonderful evening, lots of laughs, and felt completely at ease. A huge thank you to Evgenios and the whole team at Athos – we'll definitely be back! Although the restaurant was packed, the entire team at Athos went out of their way to make sure everyone found a seat and was well looked after. The restaurant does not have accessible toilets; they are one flight of stairs down, but that didn't bother us.

The old and new tenants were in the restaurant. The menu had been slightly changed. To my delight, my old favorite grilled meat was back. I loved it.

We went to this wonderful restaurant yesterday because we had been there as a family with a group of people about 20 years ago, and I had fond memories of the place. We were not disappointed. You immediately notice the many years of experience in serving guests. The food cannot be praised enough. The fries were excellent quality, the bifteki were perfectly seasoned, and the filling was very good. The gyros were juicy yet crispy, truly unbelievably good. The drinks are cheaper than in comparable restaurants, I would say. The dessert, for example, Greek yogurt with honey and walnuts, was also extremely delicious. All in all, definitely worth the price, and I hope we have the opportunity to return for a long time to come.

A Greek restaurant that's been around for a long time. You can enjoy a good meal here with a larger group or just the two of you. The food is quite good – definitely good value for money!

The ambiance was very appealing! Lots of images of the gods, seating with round arches and quarry stones, and large porcelain figurines. The service was super friendly and prompt, even though it was very busy! There was a welcoming and farewell greeting (in the form of an aperitif) from the chef. The menu leaves nothing to be desired, and the prices are reasonable in my opinion! I had the special plate. It was delicious and had plenty of meat 😋 The homemade tzatziki was amazing. The beers were Köpi or Stauder on tap... My conclusion: It's definitely worth a visit, the price/performance ratio is 100% right, and the ambiance is and remains very appealing. 😊🇬🇷 Update 02/2025: We were there again... As always, we were very satisfied, THANK YOU! We heard at the restaurant that it could be over by the end of the year if no successor can be found... That would be a disaster! 🫣

I've been there several times and never had anything to complain about. A mediocre restaurant. I also ordered to pick up and that was unbelievable!!! A telephone inquiry only resulted in a "nagging" from the owner, which prompted me to politely go there. My only concern was to make it clear that I would like to continue to be a customer. The nagging owner didn't need to come out of the kitchen. The owner had a friendly chat with me but was not open to a constructive comment. I haven't been there since. All in all, I'm glad this restaurant is closing. I hope for better, new owners.

Restaurant Walsum in Athos offers an incomparable taste experience for steak lovers. Here you can expect juicy, perfectly prepared steaks that are truly to the point. The courteous service and the exquisite wine selection complement the culinary experience perfectly. For anyone who appreciates high-quality meat, a visit to the Walsum restaurant is an absolute must. A real pleasure that will be remembered for a long time.

The food was okay, but not cheap - I find €6.50 for a small portion of tzatziki (comparable to a saucer) to be excessive despite the general price increases. Unfortunately, the service was not very attentive: an already opened bottle of wine was brought to the table without comment, and there were no side plates for an appetizer that was announced as “for sharing”, which is what you might expect as standard. The ambience corresponds to the typical style of a German Greek restaurant from the 1980s - charming, but clearly showing its age.

The portions were sometimes larger, just not enough on the plate. 3 mini lamb fillets + children's portion of fries + mini salad without pepperoni and olives. Things used to be different. The whole thing costs an incredible €34.00 An outrage!!! We're not going here anymore! There are better Greeks...

Waren mal wieder bei unseren Lieblings-Griechen zum Essen. Die Portionen sind kleiner geworden. Teilweise fehlten frühere Beilagen ganz. Preise sind stark angestiegen.

Personal sehr nett und aufmerksam .Essen war sehr lecker , jedoch finde ich persönlich die Preise etwas zu hoch ( noch 7% MwSt zu diesem Zeitpunkt).Laden ist trotzdem gut besucht.

Tisch war Reserviert, wurde mit mühe auch gefunden. Nach ca. 20 Minuten wurden sogar Getränke nach vielem winken aufgenommen. Nach einer Stunde haben wir das Getränk dann bezahlt und sind gegangen. Alle die nach ins kamen waren schon mit der Vorspeise beschäftigt, bei uns nicht mal eine Bestellung aufgenommen. Normalerweise Minus 5 Sterne.

Weniger ein Grieche, mehr eine überteuerte Pommesbude. Zu wenig auf den Tellern, kein zufriedenstellendes Essen und eine Atmosphäre die einer Massenabfertigung gleicht. Danke aber nein danke.

Ich habe vor Monaten die Kegelbahn für den 2 Weihnachtstag reserviert für die ganze Familie. Vor ein paar Tagen rief ich dort an, um mich noch mal zu vergewissern. Dort war dann ein anderer Name für die Uhrzeit eingetragen. Es wurde spekuliert, ob vielleicht nur der Name falsch eingetragen wurde. Gerade rief ich an um zu fragen, ob ich mich drauf verlassen kann, dass wir morgen kommen können. Jetzt heisst es, wir hätten unsere Reservierung damals nicht fest gemacht und wir stehen ja dort nicht drin usw. Eine Frechheit das man Monate vorher reserviert und es wohl nicht eingetragen wurde und wir jetzt Schuld sein sollen. Auch die Art und Weise, wie man gerade mit mir gesprochen hat und mir ihren Fehler zu weisen wollen. Wir können jetzt schauen, wo wir mit 11 Personen morgen hin gehen. Sowas habe ich noch nicht erlebt!Vielen Dank und schöne Weihnachten!

Die Bedienung ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend, keine lange Wartezeit was Speisen und Getränke betrifft. Das Essen war sehr lecker und preislich war auch alles gut 👍

Wir waren gestern dort essen, und ich muss sagen, es war hervorragend. Das Fleisch war sowas von zart und saftig, Meine Familie und ich waren richtig begeistert und man kann das Restaurant nur weiterempfehlen!

Hier kann man immer gerne mal lecker essen gehen. Der Service ist lobenswert. Nur wenn es sehr voll ist kann es etwas lauter werden und der Service bekommt Stress, der aber auf keinen Fall beim Besucher landet. Sehr gut.

Das Essen ist und bleibt immer noch sehr gut. Es ist allerdings schade, dass es keine Cocktails mehr gibt und die Weinkarte nicht etwas größer ist.

Der Service ist richtig schlecht. Wir kamen mit drei Leuten und sollten uns einen Tisch aussuchen. Alle leeren Tische, außer einer, waren noch mit dreckigem Geschirr belegt. Wir saßen dann 15 min am Tisch und wurden einfach gar nicht beachtet. Es wurde nicht die Karte gebracht und auch nicht die Getränkebestellung aufgenommen. Ich habe die ganze Zeit versucht auf uns aufmerksam zu machen.... keine Reaktion 🤷‍♀️ Der Keller rechnete bei den Nachbartischen ab, aber keinerlei Blickkontakt zu uns. Wir sind dann nach ca. 20 min aufgestanden und gegangen. Ich glaube noch nicht einmal das wurde bemerkt. Über das Essen kann ich somit nichts sagen.

Meine Empfehlung: Werdet moderner! Dass die Kosten in allen Bereichen gestiegen sind, ist klar und das kann jeder verstehen. Was niemand erwarten darf, ist, dass man einfach weiter so zu den alten Preisen essen kann. Es darf und muss teurer sein, aber dann muss man auch eine ordentliche Portion bekommen, die schön und modern angerichtet ist. Außerdem muss das Speisenangebot überdacht werden. Gyros mit Pommes und Grillteller haben vielleicht mal gut funktioniert, heutzutage wünschen man sich aber viele mehr Frische und Authentizität. Die Konkurrenz in Dinslaken oder Oberhausen macht es vor. Also: Ran an ein neues Konzept, mutig sein und dann brummt der Laden. Wir brauchen Athos in Walsum auch in den nächsten Jahrzehnten!

Die Karte ist kleiner geworden und Preise wurden erhöht was in Ordnung ist. Aber das die Portionen kleiner geworden sind ist echt schade und irgendwie fehlt das Verständnis. Wenn ich mit Vorspeise und Hauptgericht nicht satt werde ist es schade.

Die Portionen sind für die Preise sehr mager. Meine Tochter wurde nicht mal satt bei ihrem Kindergyros. Zum Zarziki gibt es kein Knoblauchbrot, lediglich ein paar Scheiben Weißbrot die nicht wirklich schmackhaft sind.

Das Essen entspricht den Standards ist aber nichts atemberaubendes. Die Portionen könnten auch größer sein. Ich wäre ohne dem rest von meiner Freundin zu essen nicht satt geworden. Fast 5€ für eine große Cola ist meiner Meinung nach dreist. Ambiente dort ist sehr angenehm.

Zwischen Hotel und Veranstaltung musste noch ein Restaurant her. Es war eine perfekte Entscheidung. Wunderbarer Service Lecker Essen auf den Punkt zubereitet. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Also, ich bin seit 1987 oder 1988 Kunde. Was dort in den letzten Jahren passiert ist nicht mehr schön. Die Teller wurden in den letzten Jahren immer kleiner und immer leerer, die Speisekarte und die Öffnungszeiten immer kleiner, und das Beste Menü, das Menü der Woche: "Athos Teller, 3 Fleischsorten, 3 Soßen, Vorspeise, Nachspeise" wurde ersatzlos gestrichen. Zu dem die Preise unsachgemäß erhöht! Ich glaube der alte Chef hat keine Lust mehr, und die Nachkommen sind anderen Berufen nachgegangen. Früher ein Szenegrieche, wo man sich gerne und lange traf, heute ein Grieche, wo man keinen Tisch bestellen muß?!

Trotz großer Personenzahl hat die Küche zeitgleich das Essen gebracht. Da verzeiht man auch das die Leber ne Minute zu lange gebraten wurde... Sehr nettes Personal die auf die Getränke geachtet haben. Wir kommen gerne wieder, vielen Dank

Man kann Athos einfach nur 5 Sterne geben! Die Qualität der Speisen ist seit Jahren gleichbleibend gleich, der selbstgemachte tzaziki ist einfach bombe und egal welches Fleisch man bestellt, es ist immer genau richtig angemacht. Dazu gibt es immer ein nettes Gespräch, wenn die Zeit es zulässt. Gerne immer wieder gerne!

Sehr zu empfehlen. Man wird freundlich empfangen. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Einen kleinen Verbesserungsvorschlag hätte ich dennoch. Auch wenn alles stimmig war, wäre ein bißchen mehr Optik beim anrichten nicht schaden. Der bestellte Gyrosteller war super lecker. Jedoch vielleicht noch ein Salatblatt, Gurkenscheibe oder eine Peperoni oder auch ein paar Kräuter würden den Gyrosteller optisch komplett abrunden. Wir freuen uns trotzdem schon auf das nächste Mal.

Wir waren seit längerer Zeit mal wieder dort essen. Gegenüber dem letzten Besuch hat das Lokal deutlich nachgelassen. Zunächst haben wir fast 45 Minuten auf das bestellte Essen gewartet. Das unteranderem angebotene Gyros war lappigen und nicht richtig durchgegart. Auch Mengenmäßig passte der Preis nicht zur dargereichten Speise. Wir waren ziemlich enttäuscht und werden dort nicht mehr essen. Nach Erhalt der Rechnung fiel auch dem Kellner beim Abräumen auf, dass das Fleisch nicht durchgegart war.

Aus meiner Sicht ein gutes griechisches Restaurant. Das Essen ist gut und das Personal freundlich. Das Ambiente ist besser geworden, aber Preis/Leistung ist nicht stimmig. Trotzdem ist das Lokal gut besucht.

Die Portion war überschaubar. Geschmacklich gut. Es wirkte lieblos auf dem Teller serviert. Einfach nur das Fleisch mit Pommes serviert geht garnicht.

Der Salat schmeckte frisch, aber wo war die Peperoni? Leider waren die Teller lieblos angerichtet. Es fehlte an Deko, Reis und Zaziki. Auch die Portionen sind kleiner geworden. Das Restaurant war sehr schön für den Advent dekoriert. Das Essen war schmackhaft und frisch.Allerdings war es in meinen Augen recht lieblos angerichtet. Platte für 2 Personen: die Portion Salat für 2 vorneweg, Das Fleisch unter den Zwiebeln die Pommes für jeden auf dem Essteller und eine Sauce in einer Schale. Kein Zaziki oder Reis oder Sonstige Deko auf dem Teller! Schade

Sehr gutes griechisches Restaurant mit umfangreichem Angebot an schmackhaften Speisen und Getränken. Ich selber gehe seit über 20 Jahren immer wieder gerne bei Athos essen.

Wenn man mit verbundenen Augen essen würde könnte man nicht sagen das es vom Griechen ist, war das erste Mal da aber auch das letzte Mal kann es keinem Empfehlen. Zu teuer für das was auf denn Tellern war von der Menge. Gab schon bessere mit schlechteren Bewertungen die 3 Mal besser waren als da.

war gestern abend mit meiner nachbarin da gewesen und waren sehr enttäuscht, die portion war sehr klein, beim gyros war früher immer ein klatsch zaziki dabei , pommes versalzen , und das fleisch meiner nachbarin auch , nachdem wir es angesprochen hatten kam nur die antwort gebe ich der küche weiter, sonst nichts keine gutmachung nix werden uns beim nächsten mal ein anderes restaurant aussuchen,man hatte mich vorgewarnt
