The Greek restaurant in Velburg offers plenty of space both inside and outside. We received a friendly welcome; reservations are definitely recommended for Sunday lunch. A lovely ambiance, rather simple, and a good selection of dishes. The food was truly delicious, and we were very satisfied with the starters and main courses. Service was also good.

Not suitable for allergy sufferers or those with food intolerances, as there is no longer an allergen menu. Bring plenty of time! We had to wait a long time for our food, and apart from a "sorry," nothing came. Unfortunately, a free ouzo was only given with an eye roll. The food was very good, though! That somewhat made up for it.

Beautiful restaurant! Very friendly and helpful staff. Good music, but we found it a bit loud. The food was a bit dry but still very tasty. Unfortunately, we had to wait an hour for our food. Also, there was nothing lactose-free, not even ice cream ☹️

Friendly service and a modern, open-plan building. The terrace is very large and therefore rather noisy. The food is very good quality, but the portions aren't particularly large. Unfortunately, there was no ouzo with the Greek food, which I found very disappointing. The price/performance ratio is acceptable.

A great atmosphere and delicious dishes await you here. We had to wait a bit, but we were rewarded with excellent food. We were seated inside at first, but before we ordered, we were politely asked if we wanted to sit outside after a larger table became available. The waiters were all very friendly, even though it was certainly stressful in a restaurant of this size. If you're looking to celebrate a birthday or other event, I think this is the place for you.

It's simply the best Greek restaurant. The food is very good and the atmosphere is always friendly. No matter what the crowd is, the food never takes too long. The main courses could be a little larger. Otherwise, everything was perfect.

Restaurant Akropolis Velburg is the best in the region

Unfortunately we had to wait 20 minutes before someone took our order and then 30 minutes for the food... Food was ok but nothing special... what a shame!

I really like the restaurant. The food is very tasty, especially for me the grilled red fish is very tasty. Rice is the most delicious. I like everything. Perosnal is friendly and polite.

We were there at lunchtime on Epiphany with our family, 4 adults and two children. The ambience is chic and brand new, but also has an atmosphere like in a large canteen. Sure, it was a holiday but a restaurant has to be prepared for it. The salad came after 45 minutes, the main course after 70 minutes. The children couldn't stand it anymore. Not a single word of regret from the waitress, as if it were completely normal. The food average. No more ouzo served. That should at least have been offered considering the long waiting time. I'm no longer drawn there.

The food is really good and the service also. The new restaurant has to much action sometime it is so full no seats available and you can't even place a to go order. It's just to busy for me .

Arrived at 5:05 p.m., 3/4 of the seats available. Apparently everything is reserved. Sure, they'll all come in the next hour. Only a small part was covered. Well, that was it for the restaurant. Addition: Now we went there with friends. The waitresses were nice and the food was okay. But we had to wait 1.5 hours for the food, our friends said it had been like that the last time……. doesn't work at all.

Just to recommend, the location is very nice. The ambience is very well coordinated. Service top. The menu is clearly laid out and there is something for everyone. The food is very tasty and doesn't overwhelm you like some Greeks do. As I said, highly recommended.

A super nice restaurant. Very tasteful interior design, high quality and not intrusive. But now about the food, I can only say it was great. Clear selection of dishes and freshly prepared. The service staff also gets 5 stars, very careful, without being intrusive and equipped with knowledge. A really nice evening, we threaten to come back.

The first visit after the reopening was a challenge upon arrival. The stairs without railings (that this is even permitted) in winter conditions are an imposition! What stands out inside: there are clearly 3 categories when greeting. 1. Visitors walking up to the counter and asking where the reserved table is 2. People who are greeted at the door with a handshake 3. Guests who are hugged when they arrive and then hugged again individually by each waitress at their seat. The waitresses run after each other and pursue each other. A concept cannot be identified. We had ALL the waitresses at our place that evening. The consequence of this is that you are either asked three times in a row if you would like something else even though you have already ordered, or you wait 20 minutes until the "running group" comes past the place again. The ambience is modern, large windows and therefore cool. Unfortunately not what you expect from a Greek restaurant. It should be cozy, warm and rustic - but this is a matter of taste. The most important thing - the food, that's why you go there: The portions have all decreased in size and you can hardly feel full without a starter. The earlier you come, the better chance you have of a crispy gyro. Otherwise the flatbreads are rather pale and unfortunately tasteless. The fish dishes in particular have become a lot smaller and the spice is missing in everything. Conclusion: It's a shame, it used to be very good in the old place, but it has lost a lot of taste and quantity. Hopefully things will get better over time - then maybe you'll be served a full glass again with the free ouzo.

Transformed from a Greek tavern to an open-plan canteen. For me, the new restaurant no longer has anything to do with Greek flair. The food and drinks are thrown onto your table by 4 different waitresses, sometimes without comment. Unfortunately for me this is the last visit although the food is good.

We were in the new building for the first time today. This is of course a matter of taste - I previously found it "more comfortable". The food is very good! However, as mentioned in other comments, the service is really unfriendly. If you don't want to eat a starter or dessert, you'll unfortunately notice from the waiter's look that it's not right. Unfortunately, after a long wait, our main course didn't come together (even though there were only two of us). Unfortunately, even when it comes to cashing out, the waitresses don't seem so friendly. Everything seemed very hectic. So: food very good - rather expensive - service generally still needs improvement.

I can't recommend the service was very unfriendly brought the wrong food but I said I ordered it. Later I was parked when I asked her if she could make an announcement for the car. She just meant my problem and she can't do anything about it. That doesn't work at all

I had the pleasure of visiting the Greek restaurant Akropolis in Velburg and I have nothing but positive things to say! The atmosphere is inviting and cozy, perfect for a relaxing evening. The food was simply delicious! The selection of traditional Greek dishes is impressive, and everything I tried was freshly made and full of flavor. The only point of criticism is too few vegetarian dishes. The service was also excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive and really cared about the guests' well-being. I can only warmly recommend the Acropolis and look forward to my next visit!

Today the ten of us went to the Acropolis Velburg for the first time and can only give it a 10/10. Wonderfully stylish and cozy atmosphere, the service was on point and friendly. The most important thing: the food was perfect, both in terms of quality and portion size. Price performance is definitely right. You also feel very welcome there with children. The location with a view of the town is very special and worth a visit - we will definitely come back.

My husband and I stopped into the new location for dinner on a Wednesday evening. We did not have a reservation but they were able to seat us quickly. They got increasingly busy after we were seated so we did have a long wait time after ordering food. The food was delicious and worth the wait.

I had gyros in Metaxa and was shocked when the small bowl appeared on the table. Conclusion: Smaller portions and higher prices. At home I allowed myself a piece of cake and then I was full.

Terrible! Be careful they cheat! The young blonde waitress wanted to deceive me. The service is also deceiving. when I made the order, I asked about the price of macaroni and cheese for a small child, the waitress told me 6€, I asked this is the exact price because I told her that 6€ is the maximum price for macaroni and cheese? when I made the order, I asked to cook the pasta without salt since the child was one year old and she answered okay. I sat next to him at a table that was located next to the kitchen window where the waiter serves food. this waitress came to the window and gave the order, telling the cook that the pasta should be cooked without salt, but in response the cook replied, “I’m already preparing the pasta.” When I heard this, I asked if the pasta would definitely be without salt and she answered me. the cook had already started preparing the pasta before she gave the order and salted it. I answered her again why I asked her to open the pasta without salt since it was for a small child. She answered my words. Well, he added a little salt. I was shocked by the terrible service. I remained silent in the hope that the pasta would not be salty. After a while, she came to the room and gave me a check. The price on the receipt was €7.50 for the macaroni and cheese. I said why 7.50€? You told me that macaroni and cheese would cost 6€. It's not about the price, it's about respect for the client. if you know that you are changing the price, you must notify about it in advance. Of course I gave up pasta. But the receipt clearly shows how she tried to deceive me of 1 €. This is really no respect for the client. Or do they always deceive ovtamatically? Once again, be careful. The only thing is that the food is really good quality and tasty. Since I still managed to order 2 pizzas and a salad and they turned out to be really tasty and of good quality.

Unfortunately, I'm disappointed in the new restaurant...the atmosphere is like an upscale rest stop on the highway...it's a shame the waiting times are way too long...and the food is seasoned with way too much salt...I was really looking forward to going to Akropolis again to go out to eat and I'm just disappointed 😞 very, very sad

Unfortunately, the usual level has not been maintained for a long time. Until two years ago we really enjoyed being customers, but since then the quality has been poor. Unfortunately, everything from a 2 1/2 hour wait for food to dishes that were delivered incorrectly and dishes that were completely oversalted was unfortunately there. I'd rather not even start with the portion sizes. Very unfortunate

I have to change my review. As always it is very good, but unfortunately the portions are getting smaller and more expensive. We've often been there to eat, but it's too expensive for me and for us and good friends too, so we've already found an alternative. I think it's a shame that the guests have to suffer in order to finance the new restaurant. Hopefully this doesn't backfire at some point.

Great ambience, delicious food, prices ok - tend to be “not” cheap. The sometimes very long waiting times are unacceptable. Getting the food 1.5 to 1.75 hours after ordering is impossible. This has been the case several times now. It cannot be the case that a significant number of pick-up customers are constantly being served and that at some point you are almost starving in the restaurant. The weighting should finally be different here. Anyone who collects may have to wait longer or collection may not be possible during a peak load...
