Gaststätte Akropolis in Velburg

Went there for the first time today. The building itself is very impressive and chic. The decor is really nice and it's cozy and not too noisy, despite the open space. The food was really delicious, a gyros like I've never eaten before, the bifteki was also very, very good, the rice, tzatziki and salad. The service was all nice, the owner also had reasonable prices. Everything was perfect. Gladly again.. Thank you 😊

I had the pleasure of visiting the Greek restaurant Akropolis in Velburg and I have nothing but positive things to say! The atmosphere is inviting and cozy, perfect for a relaxing evening. The food was simply delicious! The selection of traditional Greek dishes is impressive, and everything I tried was freshly made and full of flavor. The only point of criticism is too few vegetarian dishes. The service was also excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive and really cared about the guests' well-being. I can only warmly recommend the Acropolis and look forward to my next visit!

Today the ten of us went to the Acropolis Velburg for the first time and can only give it a 10/10. Wonderfully stylish and cozy atmosphere, the service was on point and friendly. The most important thing: the food was perfect, both in terms of quality and portion size. Price performance is definitely right. You also feel very welcome there with children. The location with a view of the town is very special and worth a visit - we will definitely come back.

My husband and I stopped into the new location for dinner on a Wednesday evening. We did not have a reservation but they were able to seat us quickly. They got increasingly busy after we were seated so we did have a long wait time after ordering food. The food was delicious and worth the wait.

I had gyros in Metaxa and was shocked when the small bowl appeared on the table. Conclusion: Smaller portions and higher prices. At home I allowed myself a piece of cake and then I was full.

We were there today with 5 people. Everyone enjoyed it very much. Service and food simply top! The ambience in the new building is also great and we like it very much 👍 Best Greek within 1000km😉

Terrible! Be careful they cheat! The young blonde waitress wanted to deceive me. The service is also deceiving. when I made the order, I asked about the price of macaroni and cheese for a small child, the waitress told me 6€, I asked this is the exact price because I told her that 6€ is the maximum price for macaroni and cheese? when I made the order, I asked to cook the pasta without salt since the child was one year old and she answered okay. I sat next to him at a table that was located next to the kitchen window where the waiter serves food. this waitress came to the window and gave the order, telling the cook that the pasta should be cooked without salt, but in response the cook replied, “I’m already preparing the pasta.” When I heard this, I asked if the pasta would definitely be without salt and she answered me. the cook had already started preparing the pasta before she gave the order and salted it. I answered her again why I asked her to open the pasta without salt since it was for a small child. She answered my words. Well, he added a little salt. I was shocked by the terrible service. I remained silent in the hope that the pasta would not be salty. After a while, she came to the room and gave me a check. The price on the receipt was €7.50 for the macaroni and cheese. I said why 7.50€? You told me that macaroni and cheese would cost 6€. It's not about the price, it's about respect for the client. if you know that you are changing the price, you must notify about it in advance. Of course I gave up pasta. But the receipt clearly shows how she tried to deceive me of 1 €. This is really no respect for the client. Or do they always deceive ovtamatically? Once again, be careful. The only thing is that the food is really good quality and tasty. Since I still managed to order 2 pizzas and a salad and they turned out to be really tasty and of good quality.

The reviews from others almost put us off. Luckily only almost... We visited with a medium-sized group (8 adults + 5 children). Service was courteous and friendly. Waiting time was absolutely okay. The quality and scope was also good 👍

Just new and stylish isn't enough. I've had worse food but nothing special. Service and from the boss himself, "Regionalliga". I don't have to have it anymore. Thank you

Arrived at 5:05 p.m., 3/4 of the seats available. Apparently everything is reserved. Sure, they'll all come in the next hour. Only a small part was covered. Well, that was it for the restaurant.

Unfortunately, I'm disappointed in the new restaurant...the atmosphere is like an upscale rest stop on the highway...it's a shame the waiting times are way too long...and the food is seasoned with way too much salt...I was really looking forward to going to Akropolis again to go out to eat and I'm just disappointed 😞 very, very sad

Unfortunately, the usual level has not been maintained for a long time. Until two years ago we really enjoyed being customers, but since then the quality has been poor. Unfortunately, everything from a 2 1/2 hour wait for food to dishes that were delivered incorrectly and dishes that were completely oversalted was unfortunately there. I'd rather not even start with the portion sizes. Very unfortunate

I have to change my review. As always it is very good, but unfortunately the portions are getting smaller and more expensive. We've often been there to eat, but it's too expensive for me and for us and good friends too, so we've already found an alternative. I think it's a shame that the guests have to suffer in order to finance the new restaurant. Hopefully this doesn't backfire at some point.

Great ambience, delicious food, prices ok - tend to be “not” cheap. The sometimes very long waiting times are unacceptable. Getting the food 1.5 to 1.75 hours after ordering is impossible. This has been the case several times now. It cannot be the case that a significant number of pick-up customers are constantly being served and that at some point you are almost starving in the restaurant. The weighting should finally be different here. Anyone who collects may have to wait longer or collection may not be possible during a peak load...

Our favorite Greek in the Upper Palatinate. We have been eating there regularly for over 30 years and have never been disappointed. Always consistently good quality of food. Everything is always very tasty and beautifully prepared. The boss and the service staff are always friendly. The restaurant is already run as a family business by the second generation. A clear recommendation for me. Definitely worth a visit.

Essen gut aber kleine Portionen für diese Preise, Service war sehr aufmerksam und schnell. Alte abgessene Bestuhlung, freundliches Personal. Fazit guter Grieche meiner Ansicht nach überteuert ansonsten ok, es gibt schönere griechische Lokale.

Super Restaurant mit nettem kompetent Service

Our family group ranging from ages 2 to 62 was greeted warmly by Niko upon arriving. We were seated in a room away from the busyness. Service was attentive and helpful to everyone’s satisfaction. We all ate well and our one regret was that we did not have room for dessert.

Gemütliches Restaurant. Portionen waren ausreichend groß und dem Preis auch angemessen. Geschmacklich war es auch sehr lecker. Das Bier hätte aber kühler sein können. Ansonsten gerne wieder.

La comida del restaurante no estaba mal, pero no es mi fuerte, la comida empanizada no me gusta mucho, la próxima probaré con otros platos, el queso frito si me gustó. La ensalada de pulpo estaba aceptable El arroz de acompañante estaba bien de sabor, la carne mia estaba sobre cocida para mi gusto El cordero en el pincho cocido a la plancha si me gustó.

Super leckeres Essen, Service mega freudlich und Atmosphäre Top. Kind und Hund ware gerne gesehen. Deshalb verdiente fünf Sterne.

Ein sehr schönes griechisches Lokal. Prima Speisen, tolle Küche und ein schneller und freundlicher Service. Auch für Kinder nimmt man sich Zeit und hat ein Auge für deren Wünsche. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Essen war sehr schmackhaft/ lecker die Bedienung war wirklich sehr freundlich und trotz das es recht voll war würden wir schnell bedient. Das Ambiente war auch griechisch und sehr angenehm alles bestens gerne wieder

Van tevoren reserveren is verstandig omdat het snel vol is geboekt. Eten is erg goed, vooral de bifteki en de gyros zijn een aanrader, Prijs kwaliteit is goed. Personeel is druk maar heel erg vriendelijk.

Kann man nur empfehlen, schnell und gut. Preise sind in Ordnung.

Ich komme zwar nicht oft zum Griechen, aber dafür schmeckt das Essen immer. Die Salate sind lecker, Pizzen sind top, Fleisch ist immer durch und gut gewürzt, der Reis ist auch gut. Die Vorspeisen sind lecker und die Nachspeisen absolute Hingucker. Das Personal ist freundlich und höflich, man kann sich aber auch gut unterhalten (wenn nicht zu viel Betrieb ist!). Die Atmosphäre ist auch top, da fühlt man sich wohl und eingeladen. Alles in allem eines der besten Restaurants, in denen ich bisher war!

Sehr gutes Essen. Personal unwahrscheinlich freundlich. Preis Leistung völlig in Ordnung. Sehr zum empfehlen.

Ugodna atmosfera, hrana je bila super ukusna, usluga odlicna, aperitiv na racun kuce. Cijena rucka nas je pozitivno iznenadila. Svaka preporuka za posjetiti ovaj restoran.

Heerlijke Takis - Teller gegeten met Krab, Kalamari en Gyros en een Pizza Salami met als starter een Ouzo. Super vriendelijk personeel. Zeker een aanrader om te bezoeken in Velburg.

Wonderful food. Very accommodating to small children. They serve each adult a shot of ouzo. The coffees and desserts are delicious. The taziki sauce is smooth. They also have English menus for the German-language challenged.

Waren im Biergarten zum Essen. Schöner, angenehmer Aussenbereich. Innenräume/WC wirken schon älter, aber alles sauber. Service ist aufmerksam, freundlich. Essen war schon vom Geschmack her ok, aber meines Erachtens sind die Portionen, je nach Person (Mann/Frau), schon "übersichtlich". Speziell beim Gyros hätte es meines Erachtens etwas mehr sein dürfen (kein Sättigkeitsgefühl ;-) ), was den Preis in der Höhe nicht so rechtfertigt. Schließe aber einen neuerlichen Besuch nicht aus (2. Chance).

Sehr gutes Essen, super nette Menschen die sehr aufmerksam sind und auch sehr schnell im Service. Die Portion Gyros war etwas klein. Es gibt eine Coktailsosse zum Gyros Calamri, ist gut aber Zaziki wäre besser dazu.

Waren am Muttertag 2023 dort zum Mittagessen. Tisch-Reservierung lief ohne Probleme. Trotz vollem Haus, sehr kurze Wartezeiten, Service-Personal war sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und schnell. Essen war superlecker und reichhaltig.

Masks and social distancing are required until seated. All staff are wearing masks and hand sanitizers are located throughout the restaurant. Dinner was excellent and the staff is always fantastic.

Good restaurant for business meetings. We always reserve this restaurant for typical dinner with family, friends and co-workers. Fish dishes are better than most restaurants, but not as fresh and exciting to eat. Make reservations early.

I stay/work in Germany about 90 days a year. Most of the time is in and around Velburg. By far one of the best paces to eat, have a drink or just get together with friends in Akropolis restaurant. The food is excellent and the service is outstanding. Friday and Saturday I recommend a reservation. If traveling north out of Munich stop in ask for Niko the owner to get the best service.

I enjoyed this restaurant and I would recommend it. Have you ever seen the pictures of the cave hotels in Santorini Greece? Think that... but a restaurant. They spent the time to create the ambiance in this restaurant. There are smaller areas for more intimate dinners (date night with your spouse). You don’t need a special reason to go the the Akropolis, but it is a great place if you do have one.

Fui con mi marido intentando escapar de comer tanto cerdo y resulto ser un éxito, los platos abundantes y bien preparados y la calidad correcta a un precio justo. El lugar tiene un ambiente muy familiar y aunque es grande, si quieres asegurarte la mesa, es mejor reservar.

Ein Freund lud mich ein, weil es der beste Grieche in der Umgebung sein soll. Das kann ich nicht bestätigen. Der Grieche in Berching ist mind. genauso gut, aus meiner Sicht besser. Die Gaststätte gleicht einem Wartesaal. Es gibt mehrere Räume, die wesentlich besser sind. Kellner wirkten genervt. Tischdecken zum Teil schmutzig. Hunde waren in der Gaststätte. Essen war gut und reichlich, der Preis passt. Berching gefällt mir besser, weil: Urst gemütlich,freundlich + sauberer. Ist aber rund 25 km entfernt.

We have been dining at Akropolis for over three years. The owners and staff are incredible and we truly feel like we are “Home” when we eat there. They remember us and make us feel so welcome, every time. What brought us back initially was that everything they serve is incredible. Great kids menu even. We also LOVE their summer Biergarten. But what we’ll remember most, is the way we feel when we visit!!! Highly, highly recommend you try it out too!!

We were here for a work related gathering, with a decent sized group. The restaurant was able to accommodate us without too much issue. The food was very good and it did not take too long to get it, even with the larger group. We are looking forward to returning and trying it again.

The Akropolis is a wonderful place to take a large group of people. They offer a delicious Greek menu complete with seafood, pizza and Bavarian cuisine. The service is impeccable and the prices are amazing.

We ordered the lamb and kebabs...it was delicious. My sons took me there for Mother's Day. A little on the pricey side. It was good, we'll go back again for a special occasion.

The food isn't exactly traditional Greek food, but the hospitality is a fantastic and the food matches the hospitality.

It's a great family restaurant with professional staff, friendly owners and always fresh food! Try nr. 52 from the menu (if you like lamb) or the Gyros with Metaxa gravy. You will not regret it!
