Just had a coffee. Wonderful view over the market square in glorious Sunday weather. Attentive service.

We go there regularly for breakfast. There's as much coffee as you want and a small but very good buffet. The owner is super friendly. It's also quite busy.

The Gyro with pitta was perfect. The meat was a bit dry, but I enjoyed it. The atmosphere and the people were very nice.

Friendly service, prices, and food were okay. But nothing exceptional.

Clean tables and chairs, attentive and friendly service (it was very quiet on a Monday evening), but unfortunately, my meal wasn't that great. The dipping trio was a disappointment. Small portion, the tzatziki was delicious, the eggplant mousse wasn't cream, but a pile of chunky eggplant with onions (?), and instead of hummus, they served tarama without any comment – which I wouldn't have ordered and was just surprised by the fishy taste. This turned the vegetarian dish into a fish dish... surprise 🎉 The stuffed mushrooms were good.

Four of us stopped there for lunch. I ordered gyros with salad, fries, and tzatziki – not exactly good value for €16.90! The gyros was too dry, requiring a lot of chewing. The meat was sliced too thin, lacking much seasoning, and almost saltless. The fries might have been kept warm, as they were dry and a bit soft in the mouth. The tzatziki was bland. I didn't taste any cucumber, garlic, or a bit of vinegar or olive oil. My neighbor ordered stuffed mushrooms – what came out were small mushrooms in an unidentifiable sauce, nothing stuffed. My friend ordered a large salad. The croutons advertised on the menu were missing. Just like mine, there was barely a trace of dressing. Overall, a huge disappointment considering the high prices.

Birthday party for a larger group Dedicated and smooth preparation and execution of the celebration. Flexible accommodating of young and late guests, and fantastic food. We'd be happy to do it again anytime!

The service was terrible. We had to ask several times where our drinks were, and when we wanted to pay, we waited over half an hour for the waiter to come.

We ate at this restaurant for the first time today, celebrating our 8th wedding anniversary. We had a reservation and were able to choose our own table, as the weather was so nice, so many people were sitting outside. The service was excellent, very friendly, and we even had a good chat with our 10-year-old son. The food was delicious, hot, and well-portioned, and the value for money was excellent. Greek restaurant with Greek and international dishes, a good selection, and reasonable prices. Very friendly and accommodating staff, with plenty of seating inside and outside on the terrace. I'll be happy to come back again.

A surprising restaurant! Attracted by a cheap offer of schnitzel, an authentic Greek restaurant reveals itself inside the restaurant. Moussaka is definitely recommended! The starters of beetroot salad or simply tzatziki are also very tasty. The host is attentive and extremely concerned about our well-being. Very nice evening with very tasty food! The food at the Bergischer Löwen is always fresh and delicious! The staff is super attentive and friendly! Special requests are accommodated without any problems whenever possible! The ambiance is cozy and very appealing! The prices reflect the food! You can easily come with several people, but you should reserve a table! We've spent many pleasant times there and enjoy coming here from Cologne! Thank you for your hospitality!

Excellent spacious place, well decorated and with a great menu

Last night we had musical tickets for the community center next door and had a journey of 1.5 hours. Due to fog and traffic jams, we were half an hour late at the reserved table. It was super crowded but all the service staff were incredibly friendly. We decided to order food and as time was running out we asked if they could tell us how long the food would last. Here again, the response was super friendly and prompt. “Our” waitress sprinted off immediately and came back shortly afterwards with the food as promised! The food was very tasty! We were thrilled with the food but especially with the service. We were “just” walk-in customers, clearly late and then had extra requests because we had to go quickly 😄🙈 We were still treated great and well looked after! All thumbs up for this great team!

Based on childhood memories, I went to the Greek restaurant in Bergisches Löwen with my partner. At least by local standards we were relatively late to have dinner and were greeted very warmly and asked to sit at a nice table. Overall, the service was very friendly and acted at a pace that was comfortable for us (so that we could let an eventful day sink in calmly - under different circumstances the perception could be very different). The drinks (wine, water, espresso) were perfectly fine, the food was fortunately available (we were really hungry), but unfortunately pretty bland: the trio of dips was ok (the best thing about it was the interesting, hearty and very fresh white bread), but without any particular taste impression of freshness or originality (tzatziki, eggplant mousse and hummus from the supermarket would be just as good, although I don't mean to say where the kitchen got them from). The main courses (Bergisches Schnitzel and Gyros - I admit, not a very demanding choice on our part) were characterized by a mountain of French fries, which unfortunately made their journey from the deep fryer to the plate a little prematurely and therefore pale. Those in charge in the kitchen didn't seem to have much interest in giving us positive emotions anyway: the meat and side dishes on each plate were completely unadorned and loveless. Again: the gyros with its red onions seemed very "small", but it was quite okay. The schnitzel as such turned out to be reasonably tender and even apparently had homemade breading. A few scattered mushrooms and strips of braised onions ennobled it into “Bergischer Schnitzel”. The overall impression, however, remained the yawning lovelessness with which both dishes were served on the plate, and in the case of the schnitzel, the whole thing was simply a very dry affair. The side salad was hidden on the relatively large white surface of his plate (was there actually any white cabbage to be seen anywhere, which is somehow part of the Greek salad?). And then a final surprise (after the really pretty good espresso): card payments only with "EC cards" (it doesn't matter that they don't exist anymore: we all know what that means). Are the prices so low that as a guest you can understand that the boss wants to save bank fees for using credit cards? No! Do we really want to come back again? Also unfortunately no. Maybe it's better to leave it with childhood memories from 40 years ago. No offense: Many thanks to the really friendly service!

We often go there on Sundays for the breakfast buffet. The atmosphere is classic brewery style. We have our regular waiter and he is great, always friendly and always happy to have fun with the little ones. The buffet is small but sufficient, there is something of everything (rolls, bread, meat, eggs, sausage, salami, poultry, cheese, salad and much more).

It's always nice to eat at Dimi and Wanna's. You feel at home. A pleasant family atmosphere. As usual from Greeks! Yamas, cigar cigar! What I like best is the calamari plate: I have never seen a lovingly prepared plate where the fish is still recognizable and not just lying in rings on the plate. Cheers! I have known the “Bergischer Löwe” restaurant for over 25 years and have always really enjoyed coming here. Unfortunately I have to “revise” my review since last Saturday. To put it in a single word: Terrible!!! We were there for the Christmas party with about 20 people. Tables stood individually. Waiter pointed to the possible seats that we were allowed to use. We then put these together ourselves. The seating areas were in the entrance area and the constant opening of the door made it quite uncomfortable and cold there… Drinks were served after about 30 minutes (we ordered dishes in advance). The choice included a mushroom schnitzel, which I chose. I have to say: I was looking forward to the schnitzel, which is what I was used to from this restaurant in the past. However, I was bitterly disappointed; A small, thin “flap” with 80% braised onions and a few mushrooms. Without sauce!!! Add fries and a small salad first. Food was bland, tasteless and carelessly presented. Colleagues were no less disappointed; The vegetarian casserole offered consisted of huge pieces of carrots, onions and a few potatoes. This was also probably inedible... Conclusion on the food: our entire team was more than disappointed with the quality. Service was average; somewhat overwhelmed and poorly trained. A word to the tenant: It's a shame that the quality, the service and especially the once delicious and rich cuisine have completely disappeared! Maybe they will take my review to heart because I won't be coming back😞

Very nice location, also with a terrace in summer. Friendly and competent staff. During my visit (private party) there was a very tasty buffet.

Today we had a very bland, vinegar-laden salad with low-quality chicken. The negative highlight came when paying: A valid voucher for Schlemmernlocks 2024 was simply rejected and we still had to pay the full price! An outrage.

Here you can have breakfast with a buffet in a relaxed atmosphere and start the day. The waiters are super professional and friendly. We have been coming here for more than ten years and have always been satisfied.

BE CAREFUL FOR OWNERS OF THE SCHLEMMERBLOCK 2024! The voucher is not recognized by the owner. The reason for this is a change in ownership. This meant we had to pay the full price! Food and service was quite good. However, this is very annoying!

It couldn't be worse. We wanted Kölsch and brought Pils. Ordered soup and the main course came and after asking, the soup was no longer available. Fries were hard. Out of 6 dishes, 3 dishes weren't what we ordered. Disappointing. Friends of ours aren't going either more and we don't either. It's a shame.

Staff very good, hard working But!!! The shadow, i.e. new tenant, horrible!!! Constantly takes photos in the company, Asked him not to do that, he didn't want to be photographed. I only take photos of this and that! Please do this if the guest is not sitting here! I felt disturbed too! He radiates a terrible coldness and fake friendliness. Since the change of ownership, the food hasn't been as good for a long time, and it's also significantly more expensive and the portions are smaller.

Went there again for breakfast after a long time. Breakfast was a lot slower. The rolls didn't taste fresh and the buffet selection was very sparse compared to before! You had to wait a long time for your drinks and were even forgotten. You used to be able to get juice yourself, but this has been abolished! Overall, I wouldn't go here if I could choose!

I often sat at the bar there and drank Kölsch. The glasses were dirty, the Kölsch had no foam and simply tasted stale. The counter area is dirty, untidy and doesn't invite you to have a cool drink. The service is nothing special. But not inviting either.

The penthouse is a beautiful place for many events. Friendly, helpful service. Food perfect.

Wir sind sehr unzufrieden.. völlig überzogene Preise. Anstatt Gyros bekommt man Geschnetzeltes nach Gyrosart gewürzt. Die Pommes haben auch eher wie nochmal aufgebacken geschmeckt. Das Bifteki meiner Frau ungekürzt und schmeckte als wäre es mit Camembert anstatt feta gefüllt. Sehr schade...

Nevertheless, this company takes about an hour to prepare food for the nine of us - the children went crazy because there was a fair outside. And then the communication: we asked twice; Both times the answer was 'I'll ask' - but then no response for us - we would have really liked to go back, because there was a fair outside and they would definitely have had some sausage there straight away. Finally we had something to eat; It was so-so, we don't need to talk about it. The departure spoke fully for the hospitality qualities of the house: no questions were asked as to whether it was tasty, and no one was surprised at the zero tip. No attempt to appease the guest - I think the boss already knows that when I look at the other reviews. So if you're smarter than me and read the reviews beforehand: go somewhere else!

Good food great atmosphere highly recommended

Nice restaurant - food rather standard - forgetting a meal with 11 guests in the whole store, very unfortunate - being served the main course long before the starter salad, also very unfortunate - all in all - GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. The service was nice - but was also more of a temporary assistant.

I had specially reserved seats for last Sunday. I entered the restaurant on time and greeted the staff. Instead of greeting me back, the boss and his wife ran past me several times without a friendly hello or anything similar and ignored me. This for more than 10 minutes! I no longer need to go to a store that doesn't seem to care about its customers. Obviously I was unwanted too.

Eigentlich ein sehr freundliches Lokal mit leckerer Küche.. man muss nur leider mitunter anmerken das durch den neuen Inhaber der Lokalität die Qualität der Küche sowie der Umgang mit dem eigenen Personal stark zu wünschen übrig lässt. Gäste bekommen häufig mit das dass Personal unfreundlich und respektlos behandelt wird. Leider nach dem Inhaber Wechsel nicht mehr zu empfehlen. Deshalb nur 1-5 Sternen.

240331 Easter Sunday trip to GL with wife. While strolling through the city we ended up at the Bergischer Löwen. When the sun was shining, the outdoor dining area was open and we were still able to find a place. A blackboard indicated fresh waffles with cherries, ice cream and cream. A cup of coffee with it, simply delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. We liked it.

The service was very nice and accommodating. The store itself is also very clean, well-kept and cozy. When you look at the menu you notice that you can get almost everything here: Schnitzel, pizza, currywurst and one or two Greek specialties. And unfortunately the food is exactly as you would expect: nothing special. Solid taste, everything ok but just ok. And just ok, I can do it better at home and don't go out to eat. A pity. The culinary concept here urgently needs to be revised. Oh yes, and the gourmet block voucher is not accepted due to a change in ownership, but they were accommodating to us here, which was ok for us.

Danger!!! The voucher book is not accepted!!!! When we ordered it was explained to us that the current voucher book (Schlemmerbock) would not be accepted due to the change of tenant in September. Unfortunately, this is not visible on the operator's homepage! As compensation, we got a cappuccino on the house at the end. The prices are excessive and the quality, at least on this evening, left something to be desired and not just at our table. Inappropriate value for money, the taste of the food was usually not convincing (bland, colorless, clear), the waiters are very friendly but also overwhelmed, it's best not to talk to the boss about the voucher book. It's a shame, we won't be coming back.

We had breakfast there. When we paid we presented the voucher book and were told rather rudely that the old owner was responsible for it. The new owner does not take part.
