Trattoria 500, located near Hamburg's lively Reeperbahn, is a little Italian culinary gem that I had the pleasure of discovering during a visit to my son, who worked here in the city. The first time I was there with my family, we were enchanted by the intimate and welcoming atmosphere, a true refuge from the chaos of the city. During a subsequent trip with friends, we couldn't resist the temptation to return to Alberto, the heart and soul of the restaurant. Its cuisine, inspired by the Apulian tradition, is an explosion of authentic and genuine flavours, prepared with top quality ingredients. Every dish he served us was a true work of art, made with skill and a lot of love for cooking. Alberto not only delighted us with his delicacies, but welcomed us with a warm smile and rare kindness, making us feel at home. The restaurant, although small, is carefully furnished and also offers pleasant tables outside, perfect for enjoying a quiet evening. Trattoria 500 is undoubtedly a place that I recommend to anyone who wants to taste real Italian cuisine in Hamburg. I, personally, can't wait to return once again to relive the extraordinary experience that Alberto and his restaurant gave us. Thank you very much for your hospitality, Alberto!

Apulia in the middle of Hamburg I have been a guest at Trattoria 500 for more than ten years now, and after just a few visits it became my second living room. The always delicious food and the family atmosphere in the small restaurant on Paul-Rosen-Straße, which is mainly visited by neighbors from the district, contributed to this. Responsible for the authentic overall experience in the trattoria is the lovely host family from Bari with dad Alberto in the kitchen, daughter Philomena and (until recently) son Christiano in the service, supported by Philomena's husband Michelangelo and various other employees in service and kitchen. Thank you all very much for the many wonderful hours at Trattoria 500!

There were two of us here and we had great food. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a small restaurant in a small Italian village. However, it is a very small restaurant and that bothered me a bit. I was there a few years ago, but we decided differently back then, and there weren't that many tables "squeezed in" there back then. The menu is given to you using a QR code, which on the one hand I think is pretty cool, but on the other hand it doesn't really fit with the ambience. In addition, people will then have their cell phones in their hands even more. The selection on the menu isn't particularly large, which is a shame, but understandable given the small size of the restaurant and the resulting small kitchen. What bothered me the most and what I always find very suspicious is the fact that you CANNOT pay by card. We had to go to an ATM again and withdraw cash, which was a bit annoying. Even a Billo kiosk in a subway station accepts cards for small amounts, so why not this restaurant?! When I think of something like that, I always think of money laundering and stuff like that...

Very friendly and authentic service. The menu changes regularly and the antipasti and our main courses were very good. Recommendation to reserve as the restaurant is relatively small (you can also sit outside in summer).

The shop deserves the 5 stars, everything is great from the food to the service and ambience, the food is so delicious, the lady who serves is super friendly, great atmosphere, whether with friends, family or with a date, there is something for everyone.!

Whoever doesn't want to travel to Italy to try authentic Italian food has to come here. The food is very good. Italian family business with a lot of love in everything they do. They have the best waitress in the world. Extra tip, the potato tiramisu.

For lunch or dinner... you eat in Italy. The family of the small trattoria - dad, daughter, son - recognize you on your second visit and greet you as if you had been here for a long time. Needless to say, the cooking here is truly Italian. A visit is always fun, we'll be back.

Parmesan is life and this restaurant understands that. First, however, we had to wait 5-10 minutes in the pouring rain despite having a reservation, even though we had been told that re-setting the table would not be a problem for us. The truffle pasta was rich in different types of mushrooms, but a bit watery. The gnocchi in tomato sauce had little taste of its own, but the meat dish was very convincing. Drinks are convincing and the atmosphere is always exuberant. Thank you very much for the free Francelico bottle!!!🥰

Very nice, small restaurant with a small, fine menu. Top pasta dishes. Our antipasti platter offered everything from starters! Service nice and accommodating. Reservations are highly recommended as there are only about 30 seats in the restaurant. Thanks for the evening!

We ate here on Boxing Day. We are surprised at the good reviews. The service and the bruschetta were okay. The pasta with fresh vegetables and tomato sauce had very little taste. Vegetables were few.

DAs Essen wahr sooooo lecker, ich habe mich vorgeschlagen weil es sooo lecker ist. Ich kann es sehr empfehlen, einfach yum 😋.

Ne sorry Freunde, das was der Sohn da macht hat leider nix zu tun mit dem was man vom Vater gewohnt war. Der Service war unterirdisch und das Essen bekomme ich zuhause besser hin. Das Brot war Zwiebelbrot (Why?) von Edeka gegenüber. Yasin ist kein Italiener (was auch nicht schlimm ist) aber er kocht halt auch nicht so, wenn ich Pasta mit Pute und Gorgonzola bestellte möchte ich nicht Rind und Pilze bekommen. Da bin ich raus. Mit so wenig Liebe wird sich der Laden auch mit dem tollen Standort nicht halten können. Ciao

It is a nice and small trattoria. Main focus is on the pasta. The food is good but not above the average compared to the other Italian restaurants in Hamburg. Also, be careful! Although they say they accept credit cards in their website, they only accept cash. It is 2023, so big negative point. Plus, there is no wine menu (at least not provided) so you just get a wine that you don’t know about including the price of it.

Mit ein paar Freunde habe ich meine Geburtstag in der Trattoria500 gefeiert. Danke der Team wurde es zu einem wunderbare, herzliche und köstlichen Abend. Alles war stimmig und super lecker, viele liebevoll vorbereiteten Vorspeise, 3 Nudelnvariationen haben uns nach Apulien transportiert (die Penne mit Huhn, Trüffel und Champignons waren die Krönung) tolle Nachspeise ( der Tiramisu schmeckt nach Kaffee und nicht nach Wasser) und eine Überraschungstorte alles begleitet von die Herzfreundliche Frau der Chef die uns betüdelt hat. Auch der Wein war perfekt vom Chef ausgesucht, und die Absacker...... Ich danke der gesamten Team.

Da das Restaurant sehr klein ist, unbedingt reservieren. Freundliche Bedienung, Essen & Getränke wurden schnell gebracht. Die Nudeln waren sehr gut, das Tiramisu fand ich leider nur okay. Update 08.09.: Das Essen war wieder sehr gut. Allerdings kann man nicht mit Karte zahlen, obwohl es auf deren Webseite steht. Die Mitarbeiterin meinte, dass das noch nie ginge und auch nicht auf der Webseite hinterlegt ist.

One of the most authentic Italian restaurants in Hamburg, considering most of the time they are not even Italians... 😅 Is owned from a family coming from near of Bari (my borntown), meaning everyone you see there, waiters, chef etc... Belong to their family! :D I really feel home! For "Mittagspause" they have a special 3 menù for only 10 euro! The best offer in town! The best pasta, if available, is with frutti di mare, speciality of Bari made with love from the chef Alberto! ❤️

Wir wurden sehr nett empfangen, mussten aber im hinteren Teil des Restaurants sitzen, obwohl der Tisch am Fenster frei war!(war reserviert, bis wir gingen aber immer noch leer🤔) Die Servicekraft war sehr nett, hilfsbereit und schnell! Das Essen war unheimlich lecker, für die zu kleinen Portionen Antipasti gab's ohne Nachfrage einen Preisnachlass! Wir wären gern noch auf ein Dessert geblieben, aber das Tivoli Theater hätte nicht auf uns gewartet! Wir kommen jedenfalls gerne wieder! 👍

Von Außen unscheinbar aber von innen voller Charakter. Das Menü ist nicht groß, aber was vorzufinden ist, schmeckt super. Personen und Bedienende waren äußerst freundlich und lustig. Sehr gerne wieder. Ein kleiner Betrieb mit viel Liebe!

Absoluter Geheimtipp! Kleines und uriges Lokal mit charmanter Bedienung und leckerem Essen in familiärer Umgebung. Am Nebentisch saß eine ältere und sozial benachteiligte Person, die für kleines Geld essen konnte. Solche Lokale müssen dringend unterstützt werden!

Es ist ein sehr schöner, kleiner Laden mit herzlichem Personal und leckerem Essen. Ich war dort dienstlich mehrmals zum Abendessen, es war immer klasse und ernsthaft, ich überlege demnächst auch wegen diesem Laden (u.a.) die Hansestadt wieder zu besuchen! Freue mich schon sehr drauf. Diesmal aber leider ohne meinen Tross Musiker…

Niedlicher Italiener, allerdings hatten wir den Eindruck das doch auf einen hohen Durchlauf gesetzt wird. Die vorspreisenplatte war echt lecker. Auch das 7,50 teure Glas Weißwein war echt gut. Die Portion Nudeln für 16 Euro empfand ich allerdings auch als teuer und meine Portion war echt klein und mit zu wenig Soße

Drei Gänge Mittagstisch sehr faire Portionen für 10€ und vor allem lecker!

Bin schon mehrfach hier gewesen. Letztlich fühle ich mich hier nicht willkommen. Man stört. Die Wirtin quatscht mit ihrer Mutter und redet pejorativ über die Deutschen. Eine kleine Flasche Bier 5€. Speisekarte nur über QR. Dann doch lieber Giovanni am Paulinenplatz.

Nach langer Zeit waren wir endlich wieder hier. Gute kleine Speisekarte! Das Essen war super, endlich mal keine in Sahne ertränken Nudeln. Sehr leckere Nudeln. Tolle Vorspeise! Etwas hochpreisiger geworden aber jeden Euro wert. Und Danke für die liebe Geburtstagsüberraschung.

We were a group of 8 and ordered several meals, but none of us was happy with their order. The three pasta we ordered were all poorly cooked and bland. The service was chaotic and... well, the waiter invited us to have some antipasti, which turned out to be crazy expensive! 54€ per plate. They calculated 14€ per person and the ingredients where fine, but man if that was a mess: vegetarian antipasti side by side with meat, salsa tonnata, melon… no no no. We sat at around 21:15 and finished our food at 23. at within 30 min they shut down the light, so we had to leave. It seems to me that this place doesn’t know what it wants to be. It doesn’t have a real trattoria vibe, nor the quality of a restaurant… apart from the prices.
