I didn't like the ambience... super expensive food, dirty tables. The price is not compatible with the quality of the food. In short, I didn't like it.

Expensive and not large quantities, for the price you would expect more

We wanted to visit this restaurant and have something to eat. Opening hours were listed until 11pm, but when we arrived after a long journey the kitchen was already closed, although the bar was open. We came back the next day only to find that the restaurant was closed until September 4th for technical reasons, even though it says on the internet that it is open. Please update the information on your website! I don't recommend this restaurant because it's uncertain whether it's actually open and it's a waste of time.

We were just picking up a portion of noodles. The portions are getting smaller and the prices are getting higher. The 5.80 surcharge for 3 pieces of beef was the cherry on top. However, the service was very friendly. According to my friend, the noodles were also excellent in taste. As I said, you should just reconsider the relationship between price and portion if you want to retain customers.

Ordering can only be done via the terminal, which is annoying because there are only 2 available. If several people are standing behind you and waiting, you get nervous. I prefer the classic card and in Ru hey choose. The food was okay, had pasta with beef fillet and broccoli, both of which you had to look for among the many pastas, but you could have booked them separately at the terminal for a lot of money. It's not my thing, I'll stick to the classic Italian restaurant around the corner.

Ordering via the QR code at the table didn't work well at all. Was logged out twice in the middle despite activity. Then half of the payment methods don't work at all. Some didn't have to provide a cell phone number at all and therefore didn't receive a message that the food was ready. Then a standard 10% tip is set. For what? That I can get through this and pick up the food myself? Cheeky. I had a Chicken Caesar Pinser, completely flooded with sauce and what felt like only three pieces of chicken. But the pinsa dough was very tasty. The fruit in the Peach Lillet was frozen.

Price for food quite ok. Drinks but expensive. Unfortunately the food isn't that good. Pasta is pre-cooked, so it looks floury, pinsa consists of 2 thick layers, tomato sauce and cheese!!! Unfortunately, the only thing that is Italian here are the pictures on the wall! Parmesan costs extra. For us the food is unfortunately not another visit.

So grateful for the wonderful service by Andreas! Tried to eat “next door” and service and food were equally awful. But Vapiano made a bad dinner great.

0.2 ginger ale for over 4 euros. Small portion of pasta with scampi 18 euros. An alcoholic Free wheat for over 5 euros. What the heck can this local think of?? These prices for the quality and this service ?????? 😂 Absolutely underground...we definitely won't do it again! Really bad number Vapiano

I've read some reviews that aren't very good from here, but I have always had a great experience. You order from your phone at the table. Everyone joins the group order and it's sent up at the same time so everyone can pay their share at the end easily without splitting up the check. Even when they're busy, food takes the normal amount of time. They have so many options to pick from, if you don't like your food, make an entirely new dish next time. They have different searing areas and different chairs like sofas, regular dinner tables and chairs, bar style seating, and an outdoor area. When you do need something, someone is always at the bar area or where you can order drinks. Bruscetta options are all very good. I wish they had more cocktails and drinks though. They have a faur wine selection but not many cocktails or a large beer selection. Right near the train station too.

Very appealing atmosphere, also great outdoor area for comfortable seating! Food was rather lousy (Penne Arrabiata)... pasta completely overcooked and partially packed together. The sauce is supposedly hot, I counted 3 chilies of 5 mm each, about 2 g of onions and otherwise no taste! After 8 noodles, this Alete fare was over: more for the Z generation, who look more at their cell phones than at (incidental) food. The chain has just as little to do with "Italian" as a sushi restaurant or the kebab turk... and what's also annoying: orders are made in a "state-of-the-art" way via Touch, basically self-service... and the prices are for that a drink and these pasta noodles at 17 euros are especially incomprehensible!

The cards have been abolished - I think that's a good thing. I can't give the service full stars because of the self-service portion. I can rate the other service aspects very positively. The high furniture bothers me a bit about the ambience. In general, a proper backrest would simply be more relaxing.

Today on July 26th, 2024 I visited the Vapiano in Darmstadt with a friend. The food Chicken Alfredo was very good and the staff were super super nice. It was definitely not the last visit, I would love to come back 😊

Good old Vapiano as you know him. Best pasta around. Chicken Alfredo, All fungi or Salomon carbonara are always good option. Just newer ordering system disconnect people with chefs. I'd like much more garlic.

Very good for eating out with friends or family. There is a large selection of pizza and pasta dishes that you can put together individually, a good selection of salads and desserts. It's perfect to stop here before or after going to the cinema.

Actually doesn't deserve a star. Both of us felt very unwell after eating there. Technology didn't work. Prices are steep. 1 drink averages 5 euros for 0.33l... no wonder they are bankrupt given the atmosphere.

I actually love Vapiano. But something that I recently made with chicken breast ingredients for around €13 - €14 now costs €19. That's too much for a pasta dish, crema di funghi...

Yesterday we were at Vapiano again for a long time. It was already 8:45 p.m. when we entered our order at the terminal. So the big run was already over. We paid 38 euros for 2x pasta and a bottle of water - very expensive in a self-service restaurant! We had to wait over 30 minutes for our food (!!). The food was bland, the portion was manageable and the woman was missing half of the ingredients. 3 prawns and 2 leaves of spinach - very different from the pictures on the display. Before the bankruptcy, it was almost impossible to queue at different counters and therefore eat at the same time - but the quality was right. Now nothing is right anymore. They won't see us again!!

I know Vapiano from before. So today was my day for Vapiano again. When you come in, it's no longer the same atmosphere as it was back then. You have to order at a self-service place. Or via QR code. I ordered a pinsa and a small salad, and a water. . I can remember that I also ate a pinsa in Münster. (It wasn't tasty there either) And not everyone has to wonder why they have scissors as a side dish with their meal. The toppings were just too much. The base is just hard and tastes like a cheap frozen pizza. I mean, I paid €25 and got a pizza that didn't even slide down when I chewed it. The tables were also sticky which is just terrible. By the way, the brushes cannot be cut with a knife and fork, which makes the whole thing even more difficult. The music in the Vapiano was just too loud. It was just annoying. I left half of my pinsa because it wasn't tasty. For me that was it, never again Vapiano. The pizza used to be really tasty. The Pinsa is nothing in my opinion. The staff was very nice, there was nothing to complain about

I just bought pasta to go for €15. For €15, the ToGo box wasn't very well filled. I won't be coming back and won't recommend this Vapiano.

Are regular customers, you can't complain at all. Food is always delicious and super quick, usually within 10 minutes. The lunch deal is great and really worth it :)

Unfortunately it's no longer what it used to be. Right in front of the door, some of the staff smoke with their friends at their own table. Unprofessional. I found the food to be mediocre, the pasta was slightly overcooked and the cheese was already cold. With self-service and prices like in a "normal" restaurant, that's simply not possible. The cook was also extremely unfriendly and unprofessional. A query was immediately answered with a wrinkled nose and extremely harshly. Overall, not an experience I would want to repeat.

Very salty. The tomato sauce is always the same. Standard. The cheeses are the same. Bland for a good palate of cheeses and pre-made sauces for thousands.

A nice atmosphere but unfortunately very outdated and partly broken furniture. Now I have to update my rating, not only outdated furniture but also the service and the employees have deteriorated, sometimes unfriendly.

We went today to the restaurant for the second time in Darmstadt. I ordered the pasta Gamberetti and spinachi and both times they dont add kirschtomaten (even when i asked to add everything) when it is written clearly in the card. Why ? We dont know, maybe extra effort to cut. I needed to ask each time. Normally they cook it with the pasta but they just throw 3 small cold one on my plate. Nice. After that we lost one card. One person there told us that we need to pay 70 euros.We knew the system But it has been never explained by none of the employee in the beginning. Information should be clear and transparent enough ! We cant pay 70 eurod for a small coffe of 3.50€ Thankfully we found the card. So people be aware !

The ambience alone does not make a good store. The portions are far too small for the prices. You have to look for the chicken in the noodles. The salad was just stacked. The children's portion tasted like nothing. Overall, the noodles were still quite hard. Ordering is just annoying when there are several people there. The prices of the drinks are a disgrace, €4.20 for a 0.33 cola. The cappuccino served was cold. The staff was friendly but not motivated in any way. A man was sitting at the bar and was very loud, but was happy when another man joined them and they loudly disappeared. Payment via cell phone could also be improved because, for example, I... don't want to pay via immediate bank transfer and don't have a credit card myself. I find the fact that this method also includes a tip of 5% to be a complete impudence. So I went to the counter and paid there, and the tip was immediately highlighted. For what services is tipping required so urgently here? That the drinks were brought? You can also get these yourself if it's just about the tip. All in all for almost €80 it was not worth it and not recommended. Never again.

We had dinner at Vapiano today. Unfortunately, none of it tasted good. We also paid a bill of €99. For 99€ pasta plus drinks. Unfortunately, the pizza was delivered to another table after a wait of 36 minutes. I ate pasta with whipped cream. No thanks

It's a shame, Mal was better in everything. The price-performance ratio is no longer right. The price for these tiny portions is disproportionately high for the fact that the food is just ok. Every other restaurant costs me a similar amount as a family without me feeling ripped off afterwards. Ordering via the website worked perfectly for us, but it has lost a lot of its former charm. The scissors used to cut up the already small pizza can no longer tear anything out. That's why we're out, unfortunately. Even though, as a computer scientist, I find the ordering system to be quite successful, it makes it a lot more impersonal. Service is therefore hardly available anymore, customer contact, which customer contact. In times of Corona, a plus is unfortunately rather strange.

Pleasant atmosphere with relaxed and trained staff who took good care of us. This was my first visit to a Vapiano and I had no expectations about the company before. I think I will also visit a Vapiano in other cities

It's quick, you can order and pay using your smartphone. Quality good. Drinks are brought to the table, food is picked up at the counter after a message on your smartphone. Tips are preset and paid via smartphone.

Very tasty food with many options, whether vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free. Freshly prepared, where you can also watch. Very nicely furnished (also photogenic mirror in the bathroom, smile). The staff is very friendly and the menu is also available in English and German. The only problem is that it is very, very expensive. Quite justified, but you should know before you go. If you are looking for something special, e.g. You've come to the right place for a date on your wedding day.

Quite ok. What a Vapiano is like. Since ordering “at the table” it has lost its charm for me.

So I was very positively surprised. Yesterday I had lunch at Vapiano with my colleague and I have to honestly admit that I haven't eaten so well in a long time. We were warmly welcomed by a young lady and had a nice conversation with the manager. We once ordered the Pinsa Burrata and the Gnocchi Caprese. Both the pinsa and the gnocchi were well cooked and very easy to eat. We also drank fresh draft beer, which also tasted very good. Our table was cleared regularly and we were asked several times if everything was OK. Accordingly, high praise for the service. The ambience was very pleasant because it was not too loud, but also not too quiet. In addition, everything looked very tidy and well-kept in the restaurant, which is why we would like to come back after a stressful day at work. We sat inside in the nice weather, but will try the great outdoor terrace next time. This looked very comfortable and well-kept, which really impressed us. Overall, big compliments again to Vapiano and the staff there, who make the restaurant so enchanting.

We have been going to Vapiano on and off for years and are always happy and full after our visit.

The ordering concept has changed in the meantime. Away from classic cards and towards QR codes or ordering tablets. Luckily, the food hasn't changed and it tastes just as delicious as ever!

We ordered 2 ciabatta breads per person per order, which means we chose 4 ciabatta breads. and he gave 3 pieces. After I asked him about it, he told me very unkindly: we always give 3 pieces per order. He wanted to discuss with me about 1 piece of bread... and in the end it is what it is. The prices are also overpriced. It's a shame we even paid a tip. Simply disappointing!

We have been loyal regular customers for years, but unfortunately due to the manager's behavior we have decided not to come anymore. His behavior was repeatedly disruptive and disrespectful, creating an extremely unpleasant atmosphere. As a woman, I felt very uncomfortable under his constant scrutiny. I also had to experience that the manager banned customers from entering the building due to personal differences. Although the ambience of the place is appealing, the unprofessional behavior of the manager made us, a group of more than ten people, decide to stop visiting this place. It is unfortunate that such behavior results in the loss of loyal customers.

The price-performance ratio of the Vapiano franchise continues to decline. After my recent visit to your restaurant, I was extremely disappointed to find that my absolute “favorite pasta” for years had now gone up by €5!! has increased in price. And that since my first visit almost 5 years ago. Inflation is very important here. And that's not all, since then the quality has weakened in proportion to the price, which for me is the much bigger point of criticism. Half-cooked pasta, missing seasoning, completely dry-fried fillet meat and much sadder... loveless and unfriendly preparation. Food can't taste like that. The drinks at the bar are also priced in line with above-average cocktail bars, but they don't deliver anything like that in terms of quality. Visiting a cozy Italian restaurant is now definitely the smarter choice. There are no varicose veins for free either, as there is no need for long waits in the canteen atmosphere. This factor is obviously no longer taken into account when calculating the price. To make matters worse, the service at the “bar tables” is the topping of the whole disaster in terms of friendliness and goodwill. The story Vapiano and I definitely belongs in the archives. Goodbye ***Update April 7th, 2024*** Price increase another €2. Complete system change in the ordering process. Now orders are placed at terminals. Here you can also ask for tips directly during the payment process - for whatever service. Well, tables are cleared relatively quickly after the meal. But the absolute highlight was my friend's penne: pasta with tomato sauce for €14.90... the pine nuts and mozzarella were nowhere to be found. It's unbelievable how you can release something like that at that price. Then continue to have traditional Italian in other places at a 30% cheaper price including service. Maybe I'll try it again every year... as we all know, hope remains...

As a commuter, I am constantly on the go and always looking for new restaurants and cafés. The Vapiano in Darmstadt has been one of my favorites since my first visit in 2018. The great Italian cuisine with the fresh ingredients is MEGA!!! After your meal, treat yourself to an espresso and enjoy the great ambience. The restaurant is worth a visit.

The first time I was offered champagne on the house. Compensation? A 5 star Google review. Of course I refused.

When there is criticism here, the operator always responds in very general terms, but never responds individually. Reminds me of copy/paste. For example, what do you say about the portions being too small? Or does it take longer for everyone to order at the terminal?

The food is good, although not very diverse.

The location at the main station doesn't seem that nice at first, but once you get inside it is modern, bright, clean and attractive. We were greeted very nicely by a friendly employee who explained to us how the concept and ordering and payment system work. The food was delicious. Fresh and the pasta was cooked perfectly al dente for me (I had the spelled pasta and found the bite of the pasta very pleasant). The portion was really big and I could have even had bread for free. My companion’s food was also delicious. She had the zoodles in a mushroom sauce. At the end I got a super delicious espresso on the house. I would also like to have a coffee machine like that ☕️ Definitely a recommendation! I'd love to come back 🌟 and I can't understand the bad reviews (from my experience here) at all.

What a chaos. Tried ordering via the QR code. Group orders that you cannot change even before sending them off, so you have to walk to the counter again. Text messages saying that the order is ready when it has not even started yet. Continuously losing connection so you have to rescan the qr code on the table again. If you do a group order every person in the group that wants to add something to the group order has to enter their phone number? This is for sure the last time ever for a vapiano visit…

The reception is very friendly. You can now place orders online, which I think is quite convenient. Ambience is good. Food tastes good but unfortunately a bit too expensive.

New payment mode. But it fits well and you no longer have to wait at the checkout.

The Vapiano in Darmstadt is a very good restaurant with an upscale atmosphere. The waitresses are always friendly and accommodating. The service is top and the food is absolutely good. I can only recommend it if you want to enjoy a nice evening as a couple or in a group.

We didn't like Pinsa that much, the dough was very hard and the taste was average. Hot drinks were good. We didn't have any dessert. Service is ok, except for one employee who was very negative (very arrogant and unfriendly). Apparently she doesn't like children. Her facial expressions and actions seemed like "tell me you want me to go without telling me to go" to all of us...

The service is very nice and patient. The food tastes very good and always comes on time. I can only recommend.

Great waiters :) Café machine was cleaned shortly before loading, but the café machine was switched on upon request… very commendable!! Ps. Pasta with Bolognese for me and cappuccino for my friend were both very enjoyable.

She was as bad as I imagined. But at least I was prepared for it. Different with Vapiano. Without knowing the concept but with a Google rating of 3.8, confident that I would get at least average Italian food here, I met up with friends there. Self-service, okay. Why not. The restaurant looked nice, there were corners to sit comfortably, corners with benches, hardly any tables with normal high chairs. We opted for the benches, which were only somewhat comfortable. But okay, we were here for dinner. Without knowing about each other, one of the friends and I chose the same dish: lasagna. And at an interval of approx. 5 minutes. We found it strange that the dishes were reported as ready at the same time. But okay, they were both still steaming. But what was on the plate or in the bowl, in terms of taste and sensory aspects, was by far the worst lasagna I have ever eaten. And that’s after the Aldi desperation purchase mentioned above. You no longer noticed the pasta, no bite, a mass that hardly differed from the sauce. The sauce uninspired, seasonless. The béchamel was foamy for some reason. But at least it tasted slightly of nutmeg. My portion was hot on the outside, but just lukewarm in the middle. I have no idea how you can even give a place like this one star. An unparalleled disappointment.

The pizza that was once available was great; the Pinsa now: as hard as a board and looks in my opinion looks like frozen goods... As long as it doesn't bother the teenagers (who make up 95% of the guests)... It's a shame - everything won't get better if it changes 🧐

I am glad that Vapiano is somewhat back, under new management. The food is as good as ever. They are currently trying out a new ordering system akin to the ordering wall common to MC Donalds AMD Burger King. They do have two other alternatives to ordering though, through your phone (QR code) and directly over the counter. The ambience of the place is similar to Vapiano 1.0. Just like in most other places, the prices have gone up. For a lunch deal with a drink, 12,50€ is the least you can pay. The staff are friendly and they do their best to satisfy their customers' requests. Worth giving in a try if you are close by.

Waited 1 hour for pasta twice. WiFi doesn't work here either.
