The food was great, and so was the staff. All orders were processed quickly and efficiently.

Unfortunately, "Der Vogelsiedler" has declined in quality. Some of us didn't receive our food until the first customers had already finished. Some dishes were cold or even inedible. Some dishes were completely unavailable and were only partially served. It was strange that everyone finished their meals. This suggests that the portions were a bit too small. We had to wait an hour for our food. Prices are usually between €20 and €25. The price-performance ratio is no longer acceptable. Too expensive for the poor quality.

The food tastes excellent and is freshly prepared. The staff is courteous and very friendly. I highly recommend this inn.

Very friendly staff, cozy atmosphere

I wasn't actually at the inn itself, but I was there for the illuminated truck parade, and I know that everything there is absolutely perfect. The inn is involved in the illuminated truck parade, which is always a fantastic event. It gives you goosebumps when the decorated trucks drive by, honking their horns.

The food was really great and the service was just right. ... the bowling alley is very old and rather rustic (both technically and otherwise)... what a shame.

Despite the restaurant being full, service was quick. Very friendly and attentive service. And the food was delicious.

After 19 years, we spontaneously stopped by for lunch. We called ahead of time and there was just enough space. A friendly welcome, a very well-stocked restaurant, fast, courteous service, and the food was delicious and plentiful. We found the value for money to be excellent. We'd be happy to come back.

We celebrated our wedding at the Vogelsiedler and were truly thrilled with the food and the hospitality. The guests also had a great time at the bowling alley. The guest rooms are also beautifully furnished, and we all slept well. We would do it again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much.

We had our class reunion at the Vogelsiedler. The table was beautifully set, the service attentive, and the food delicious. However, I find the prices too high – €22 for a small Strindberg steak with fries isn't justified in my opinion. Unfortunately, prices are constantly rising, so the additional costs have to be passed on. Dining out could soon become a luxury – without the owners taking responsibility for it.

We always enjoy coming here. The food is delicious, the selection is great, and when we're there in a larger group, we all get our food together fairly quickly.

We had a family celebration with 30 people at the Vogelsiedler last Saturday. It was lovely. Everything was perfect; the buffet was delicious, and the service was very friendly, courteous, and professional. Some of our guests stayed overnight. They were very pleased with the rooms, which were very clean. The breakfast was also very good. We were very pleased.

Very friendly hosts and simply great food. The burgers were simply amazing and K&K, your car broker, enjoyed it too. Eastside Motorsport simply loves to stuff its stomachs here. He gave us a great recommendation and we were full even without a starter!

We went bowling and had dinner. The two bowling lanes are fine. Most of the bowling shoes are worn out, as are some of the bowling balls, unfortunately. The food tastes very good. Unfortunately, both the appetizer and the main course were not served hot. As a senior citizen, the portion sizes were sufficient for me. Younger members of the group found them rather small. Therefore, in my opinion, the value for money is borderline, or even excessive. There was ample free parking.

I can recommend this restaurant with a clear conscience. Everything just fits.

We were very satisfied. Delicious food, generous portions, and fast and very friendly service. This restaurant also offers vegetarian dishes other than pasta with tomato sauce... (although, according to my boyfriend, the portions could be a bit larger). We'd be happy to go back!

Beautiful inn, very quaint. I wasn't so happy with my meal (salmon salad). The salad lacked variety and was rather acidic or vinegary, and seemed to be swimming in liquid. The salmon was very good, but the skin could have been crispier, which was probably due to the liquid from the salad. A good vinaigrette should be slightly creamy. A few years ago, we had a large birthday party with an evening buffet, and the food was excellent. This time, we had a larger group of about 25 people (pre-ordered). The young waitress was very friendly and prompt. Her older colleague seemed a bit overwhelmed, shouting questions about the order across the room (I would have preferred to approach the guest there). She also became rude when paying, and I had to repeat my order three times (1 meal, 3 drinks) because I felt she was overwhelmed at the time.

I've been a frequent guest at the Zum 🐦 Siedler Inn. The food is good. There's a good selection of meat, poultry, fish, and game. The menu is updated regularly with the seasons. It's currently asparagus season. However, yesterday was the second time I was disappointed. Both times, the asparagus was far too hard and woody. A note about this was gratefully received, and I was compensated with a small extra (coffee). The service is polite and courteous. The price/performance ratio is completely reasonable. The terrace is a wonderful place to sit. Large parasols provide shelter and shade. A stop at this inn is definitely worth it.

We were there in the evening. The restaurant wasn't too crowded. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The meals were served very quickly, even though everything was freshly prepared. I ordered truffle pasta with smoked salmon and drinks. Visually very nicely presented and the taste is exactly what I like ^^. Food ok but completely overpriced.

The cost of goods and the size of the portions do not correspond to the prices charged. Almost no main course costs less than 20 euros. The dishes are more like “senior citizens’ plates”. Service staff felt overwhelmed, fake friendly and not particularly fast.

We went bowling at Vogelsiedler and then had dinner. The atmosphere is inviting and clean. The food is very tasty but unfortunately far too little for the prices.

Price/performance doesn't work at all. What is on the plate is the cheapest frozen food at a price that is completely overpriced for this poor quality. Since I can't respond to the reaction, then so be it. If you think that a handful of fries that were definitely frozen, a steak or four that was tiny and coarse and a few crumbs of raw food justify this price, then you should go eat somewhere else, I can happily recommend some good locations. I'm happy to pay this price but not for this. Incidentally, that was the tenor of yesterday evening, and of the others too. And yes, I can do that better. And yes, it's sad when an answer is so arrogant.

Today we went bowling and dinner. The bowling alley is very good. Technically not up to date. But serves its purpose. The salads were already prepared and some of them were a bit lumpy, just like the carpaccio and the balsamic vinegar, which were unfortunately a bit dried out on the plate. The soups were different sizes and 7€ for such a small tomato soup. Don't look in the photo. Otherwise the food was tasty. We paid with a debit card; we would have liked to have seen the bill put together before we transferred the amount. (We received the compilation after payment)

Delicious asparagus omelet with side dish. Fresh asparagus directly from the producer. Family-run restaurant. Here you can tell that cooking is done with love.

We have been to Vogelsiedler several times recently and have received mixed reviews from our guests. The children had schnitzel with fries, unfortunately the schnitzel was not fried properly and some of the fries were unfortunately cold. Unfortunately, our guests with a steak au four have trouble with a slight rumbling stomach after eating. I had a zander fillet which was very tasty, unfortunately because the potatoes weren't hot. There was a lot going on that evening, maybe that was why. Then it's better to say no to a few guests instead of the quality suffering. Last week we were there again and not everything was perfect. One of our guests had wild goulash, unfortunately the portion size was not enough for an adult man, it was more of a senior portion. I had this chicken breast baked with tomato mozzarella and tagliatelle with it, unfortunately only half a slice of tomato was hidden under a little mozzarella and the tagliatelle were damn oily the deeper you got into the bowl, even if it was olive oil, it was still a bit "too much"! This time the children had nuggets with fries, some of the fries were cold and some were rock hard so that they jumped off the plate when they tried to bite them. I don't even want to talk about the loveless garnish on the plate (1 spoonful of grated carrot). At another table, a steak was returned in its entirety because the guest didn't like something. Conclusion: We'll be back, maybe you'll feel a change. The staff was friendly and nice, perhaps only one waitress should serve the table with drinks to avoid double bookings. When the food is served, we find the support of other colleagues helpful. Unfortunately our experiences are only worth 3 stars. There is room for improvement, work on it and maybe cancel a third, fourth, fifth party in one evening so that the quality doesn't suffer.

A large restaurant with overnight accommodation. There is also a bowling alley and a hairdresser. The service is friendly and the food came very quickly. Everything was very tasty and well prepared. The atmosphere is very modern, but also cozy.

Craziness! Update: After claiming it was the wrong restaurant, we looked out the bill and oops it wasn't €18.70 but €18.50! After the wrong comment from the owner and therefore down to one star! Update 2.0: First to delete your comment with “wrong restaurant” and then to claim that the purchases are the same in Zwickau and Berlin! You probably also think that all guests don't have a plan?! A tiny schnitzel with fries for €18.50 is a joke for a city with almost 90k inhabitants! I hope that many potential guests read your nonsense and hopefully go somewhere else! And regarding her employee, if asked how the food was, hardly anyone will say too expensive! Continue to be so unreasonable! The guest is king, but apparently not with you! Update 3.0: All I have to do is look at the last negative reviews and it will be confirmed! Eating out today in Regensburg (140k inhabitants) and here a Viennese style schnitzel costs a whopping €15.90! And not in mini format!

Got a table at lunchtime despite not making a reservation. Food was plentiful and good. The waiter was on the move quickly. I liked it very much.

This restaurant has gone extremely bad 😞. Very unfortunate. The duck was already underground last year and unfortunately again this year. For €28.50 you definitely expect a tender, juicy duck! The other guests weren't impressed with their dishes either. It's a shame, because it's actually a very cozy restaurant.

We were there as a group for dinner. The food was delicious 😋, the atmosphere was very cozy, but the service left a lot to be desired. The lady was sometimes very unfriendly and when I said goodbye to her: have a nice evening: she just said (in a snippy tone) that it was long over.

We stayed there for a family celebration. Everything is great, everything is great. Unfortunately, sleep was out of the question as there was a hall directly below our room where a big company Christmas party was taking place... with a DJ! Everything is free until 0:30 to sing and dance along. :-( After that, tables and chairs were pushed on the tiled floor until after 1:30. I would have liked another room, especially since most of them were free. Still a great house and delicious food.

Eating out as a society is catastrophic. Three companies in one room. Honestly, that doesn't work at all. Food, no thanks. Way too overpriced.

We were a grieving family of 16 on October 11, 2024. The service was very friendly and the food came to everyone at the same time, which tasted very good. Despite the sad occasion, we felt in good hands.

Clocky and cozy. But all of this comes at the expense of flexibility. You eat what is on the menu. No problem for me and the food is very good, but my companion and anyone with the smallest extra requests has to spend a long time searching on the menu or choose another restaurant.

We had a high school year reunion with over 70 people. Everything was well organized and the food was very delicious. The staff was friendly and hard-working. Even when not everyone left immediately at midnight, it wasn't a problem. Everyone was able to say goodbye in peace. The restaurant is a good choice for every occasion.

Yesterday we had our 25th high school graduation reunion (Pesta class 1999) at the Gasthof zum Vogelsiedler. The food was really very good, "small" menu, great home-style dishes, no frozen junk with numbers in front of the dishes. The service staff were exactly as you would imagine as a guest, courteous and super friendly. The inn is impressive, everything is modern, well-kept and clean. I think everyone had a lot of fun and that was also due to the hospitality we were shown. If you want to celebrate something in Zwickau, with delicious food and in a relaxed atmosphere, I think this is the right place for you.
