Gasthof Zum Vogelsiedler in Zwickau

Wir haben hier die Hochzeit unseres Sohnes gefeiert. Vom Erstkontakt, der Planung bis hin zur Feier war alles perfekt geplant und ausgestattet. Nur die Deko haben wir noch übernommen. Der Raum war für 60 Personen ursprünglich geplant ( es waren ein paar Gäste weniger). Das kalt/warme Bufett am Abend war perfekt und sehr schmackhaft. Auch die Übernachtung lohnt sich hier, wir haben sehr ruhig geschlafen, die Betten waren sehr bequem. Das Frühstück war mit allem, was man sich dazu wünscht ausgestattet. Vielen Dank an die Inhaber, wir hatten eine tolle Zeit und kommen als ihre Gäste gern wieder.

Mir wurde dieses Restaurant von einem Einheimischen empfohlen, und ich bin sehr froh darüber. Sie servieren traditionelle ostdeutsche Küche von hervorragender Qualität. Ich habe die Besitzer kennengelernt, und sie sind ebenfalls sehr nette Leute.

Am vergangenen Sonntag versuchten wir unser Glück nach einem etwas entäuschenden letzten Besuch vor einigen Monaten erneut und wurden mehr als positiv überrascht. Die Rezepte wurden leicht verfeinert und verändert, die Portionen wieder etwas vergrößert im Vergleich zum letzten Besuch muss ich zugeben : lange nicht mehr so gut gegessen ! Alles Top ... Gerne wieder !

Nach dem Besuch am 14.5.26 und dem Essen von Mutzbraten und Bratwurst haben meine Frau und ich Durchfall und Magenschmerzen.Bitte meiden Sie dieses Lokal. Vielleicht Lebensmittel Vergiftung.

Meine Tochter und ich haben unsere runden Geburtstage gefeiert. Es war ein sehr schöner Abend. Der Service war hervorragend. Danke dafür. Buffet war genauso, wie wir uns das vorgestellt haben. Danke an die Küche. Können es nur weiterempfehlen.

Wir waren zur Spargelsaison dort und sehr zufrieden. Auf der Terasse sitzt man hervorragend und die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam.

Wir waren das erste Mal dort und es war OK. Die junge Dame war sehr nett und auch das Essen war in guter Qualität. Leider fehlte bei den Nudeln das Salz und das Essen kam lauwarm, was jetzt aber nicht so schlimm war. Die Portion sind jedoch sehr klein und auch die Preise sind sehr teuer für die Größe.

Das Essen war wie immer wieder sehr lecker. Jeder am Tisch war mit seiner Wahl sehr zufrieden. Hut ab für den Service und die Küche..(das Team) .. Bei vollem Haus, hat man weder auf Getränke noch auf das Essen lang gewartet......bald wieder

Ich bin gerade aus Großbritannien nach Zwickau gereist und musste bei meiner Ankunft im Hotel feststellen, dass das Restaurant geschlossen war. Die Rezeptionistin empfahl mir dieses Restaurant und wow, was für ein Essen! Traditionelle deutsche Küche, keine englische Speisekarte, aber wen kümmert's? Mir wurde die Rinderroulade empfohlen und sie schmeckte wie Weihnachten. Ich werde das Restaurant auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen und wiederkommen.

Wir haben meinen Geburtstag hier gefeiert und es war ein wunderschöner Abend gewesen . Wir waren im separaten Raum für uns mit dieser herrlichen Terrasse. Die Speisen waren vielseitig, hübsch angerichtet und sehr lecker . Preis Leistung stimmt hier . Es ist jeder satt geworden und Dessert gab es auch verschiedenes . Nette und aufmerksame Bedienung, die immer da war . Anschließend gings zum Bowling. Auch hier war es sehr schön , nette Bedienung und wir hatten ne Menge Spaß. Es war ein rundum gelungener Abend, wir kommen gerne wieder 😊🥰

Wir waren heute als Männergruppe zu einem Kochkurs unter Anleitung vom Chefkoch, außerhalb des normalen Gastrobetriebes. Wir haben uns richtig wohl gefühlt und wurden sehr gut angeleitet. Danke dem ganzen Team vom Vogelsiedler. 🙏👍

Wir waren kürzlich im Gasthaus zum Vogelsiedler essen und waren rundum begeistert. Die Atmosphäre ist sehr gemütlich und familiär – man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Der Service war ausgesprochen freundlich, aufmerksam und schnell, ohne dabei aufdringlich zu sein. Das Essen war hervorragend. Man merkt sofort, dass hier mit frischen Zutaten und viel Liebe gekocht wird. Die Portionen sind großzügig, geschmacklich top und sehr schön angerichtet. Besonders die traditionellen Gerichte sind absolut empfehlenswert. Auch das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt hier vollkommen. Für die Qualität und den Service bekommt man wirklich viel geboten. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder und können das Gasthaus zum Vogelsiedler jedem empfehlen, der gutes Essen, eine entspannte Atmosphäre und herzliche Gastfreundschaft schätzt! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Essen geschmacklich super, aber Preis Leistung unterirdisch sehr kleine Portion . Gerade das Dessert. Kaiserschmarrn 4 Stücke kein Apfelmus oder irgendwas dazu und dann fast 10 Euro auch der Windbeutel winzige Portion. Für uns war es das letzte Mal bei diesen Preisen. Das können ander deutlich besser

Tolle Gaststätte mit viel Platz innen,einer schönen Außenterasse (herrlich im Sommer abends hier zu sitzen bei einem lecker mix Getränk), ausreichend Parkplätzen und Spielplatz. Bedienung sehr freundlich, beim Essen war ich zufrieden, hat gut geschmeckt. Wartezeit normal maximal 1 Stunde, bei frischen zubereiten. Wir waren 7 Personen und das Essen wurde für alle komplett serviert, natürlich warm. Tisch war vorbestellt.

Ich bin positiv überrascht- von Anfang bis Ende rundum zufrieden. Leckeres Essen. Freundliches, engagiertes Personal (das auch jederzeit zugegen ist). Die Lokalität ist sauber und schaut außen wie innen gastfreundlich aus.

Ich war wegen eines Stammtisches hier. Wir hatten einen extra Raum für uns. Trotz Recht zahlreicher Leute war der Raum schon groß. Die Bedienung war sehr um das Wohl der Gäste bedacht. Was mich erstaunte, dass das Essen trotz der Menge an Leute zeitnah hintereinander gebracht wurde.

Essen war hervorragend. Hatte den Salat mit selbstgeräucherter Entenbrust, sehr lecker. Die zwei jungen Kellnerinnen super freundlich und flott. Waren sehr zufrieden.

Das Essen war super lecker - besonders der Vogelsiedler Burger & und die Nudeln mit Trüffel und Rinderfilet waren Spitze! Hervorheben möchten wir auch die leckeren und liebevoll dekorierten Mixgetränke. Der Gin-Tonic mit dem eigens hergestellten Gin ist der beste der Stadt - aber auch der Holunder Spritzz ist sehr zu empfehlen. Liebes Vogelsiedler Team macht weiter so - wir kommen gerne wieder.

Preise ziemlich sportlich, geschmacklich durchwachsen sowie auch die Größe der Portionen

Sehr überzeugender Auftritt… Wir hatten heute am 25.12.25 einen Tisch für 5 Personen gerade noch so mit (Reservierung im Oktober) bekommen. Am Telefon sagte man uns das alles etwas länger dauern könnte auf Grund der vielen Reservierungen. Es war wirklich sehr gut alles organisiert. So viel nettes Personal und vor allem in der Vielzahl der Servicekräfte sieht man wirklich selten. Es ging sehr zügig von der Bestellung bis zum servieren. Los ging es mit dem „Gruß aus der Küche“ eine schöne kleine leckere Überraschung. Die weihnachtliche Karte war sehenswert!! Vom Gänsebraten über Hase bis zum Freilaufwild. Die Teller waren durchweg sehr schön angerichtet und warm! Wir haben für Weihnachten 2026‘ gleich heute wieder einen Tisch im „Vogelsiedler“ reserviert wo wir mitbekommen haben das es der Nachbartisch uns gleich tut… Fazit: Wer wirklich gut gemütlich und freundlich essen gehen möchte…. We have been regular customers at the Vogelsiedler bowling alley for years, often going there for dinner. Unfortunately, we have noticed that the prices have become disproportionate to the quality of the food. For example, we've had raw minced pork for €14.00 and carpaccio for €16.00. The worst offender was a "farmer's omelet" for €15.00, which was served with the dimensions (height and diameter) of a small potato pancake – an outrage! It bore no resemblance to the "farmer's omelets" we've had before.

The food was great, and so was the staff. All orders were processed quickly and efficiently.

Unfortunately, "Der Vogelsiedler" has declined in quality. Some of us didn't receive our food until the first customers had already finished. Some dishes were cold or even inedible. Some dishes were completely unavailable and were only partially served. It was strange that everyone finished their meals. This suggests that the portions were a bit too small. We had to wait an hour for our food. Prices are usually between €20 and €25. The price-performance ratio is no longer acceptable. Too expensive for the poor quality.

The food tastes excellent and is freshly prepared. The staff is courteous and very friendly. I highly recommend this inn.

Very friendly staff, cozy atmosphere

I wasn't actually at the inn itself, but I was there for the illuminated truck parade, and I know that everything there is absolutely perfect. The inn is involved in the illuminated truck parade, which is always a fantastic event. It gives you goosebumps when the decorated trucks drive by, honking their horns.

The food was really great and the service was just right. ... the bowling alley is very old and rather rustic (both technically and otherwise)... what a shame.

Despite the restaurant being full, service was quick. Very friendly and attentive service. And the food was delicious.

We were there for a family celebration, everything was perfect.

After 19 years, we spontaneously stopped by for lunch. We called ahead of time and there was just enough space. A friendly welcome, a very well-stocked restaurant, fast, courteous service, and the food was delicious and plentiful. We found the value for money to be excellent. We'd be happy to come back.

We visited Vogelsiedler for the first time yesterday. The food was truly delicious, and the portions were perfectly adequate. The value for money was reasonable. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back. Keep up the good work.

We celebrated our wedding at the Vogelsiedler and were truly thrilled with the food and the hospitality. The guests also had a great time at the bowling alley. The guest rooms are also beautifully furnished, and we all slept well. We would do it again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much.

We had our class reunion at the Vogelsiedler. The table was beautifully set, the service attentive, and the food delicious. However, I find the prices too high – €22 for a small Strindberg steak with fries isn't justified in my opinion. Unfortunately, prices are constantly rising, so the additional costs have to be passed on. Dining out could soon become a luxury – without the owners taking responsibility for it.

We always enjoy coming here. The food is delicious, the selection is great, and when we're there in a larger group, we all get our food together fairly quickly.

We had a family celebration with 30 people at the Vogelsiedler last Saturday. It was lovely. Everything was perfect; the buffet was delicious, and the service was very friendly, courteous, and professional. Some of our guests stayed overnight. They were very pleased with the rooms, which were very clean. The breakfast was also very good. We were very pleased.

Very friendly hosts and simply great food. The burgers were simply amazing and K&K, your car broker, enjoyed it too. Eastside Motorsport simply loves to stuff its stomachs here. He gave us a great recommendation and we were full even without a starter!

We went bowling and had dinner. The two bowling lanes are fine. Most of the bowling shoes are worn out, as are some of the bowling balls, unfortunately. The food tastes very good. Unfortunately, both the appetizer and the main course were not served hot. As a senior citizen, the portion sizes were sufficient for me. Younger members of the group found them rather small. Therefore, in my opinion, the value for money is borderline, or even excessive. There was ample free parking.

I can recommend this restaurant with a clear conscience. Everything just fits.

We were very satisfied. Delicious food, generous portions, and fast and very friendly service. This restaurant also offers vegetarian dishes other than pasta with tomato sauce... (although, according to my boyfriend, the portions could be a bit larger). We'd be happy to go back!

Beautiful inn, very quaint. I wasn't so happy with my meal (salmon salad). The salad lacked variety and was rather acidic or vinegary, and seemed to be swimming in liquid. The salmon was very good, but the skin could have been crispier, which was probably due to the liquid from the salad. A good vinaigrette should be slightly creamy. A few years ago, we had a large birthday party with an evening buffet, and the food was excellent. This time, we had a larger group of about 25 people (pre-ordered). The young waitress was very friendly and prompt. Her older colleague seemed a bit overwhelmed, shouting questions about the order across the room (I would have preferred to approach the guest there). She also became rude when paying, and I had to repeat my order three times (1 meal, 3 drinks) because I felt she was overwhelmed at the time.

I've been a frequent guest at the Zum 🐦 Siedler Inn. The food is good. There's a good selection of meat, poultry, fish, and game. The menu is updated regularly with the seasons. It's currently asparagus season. However, yesterday was the second time I was disappointed. Both times, the asparagus was far too hard and woody. A note about this was gratefully received, and I was compensated with a small extra (coffee). The service is polite and courteous. The price/performance ratio is completely reasonable. The terrace is a wonderful place to sit. Large parasols provide shelter and shade. A stop at this inn is definitely worth it.

We were there in the evening. The restaurant wasn't too crowded. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The meals were served very quickly, even though everything was freshly prepared. I ordered truffle pasta with smoked salmon and drinks. Visually very nicely presented and the taste is exactly what I like ^^. Fresh plum cake, absolutely delicious and very well topped!

Food ok but completely overpriced.

The cost of goods and the size of the portions do not correspond to the prices charged. Almost no main course costs less than 20 euros. The dishes are more like “senior citizens’ plates”. Service staff felt overwhelmed, fake friendly and not particularly fast.

We went bowling at Vogelsiedler and then had dinner. The atmosphere is inviting and clean. The food is very tasty but unfortunately far too little for the prices.

Price/performance doesn't work at all. What is on the plate is the cheapest frozen food at a price that is completely overpriced for this poor quality. Since I can't respond to the reaction, then so be it. If you think that a handful of fries that were definitely frozen, a steak or four that was tiny and coarse and a few crumbs of raw food justify this price, then you should go eat somewhere else, I can happily recommend some good locations. I'm happy to pay this price but not for this. Incidentally, that was the tenor of yesterday evening, and of the others too. And yes, I can do that better. And yes, it's sad when an answer is so arrogant.

Today we went bowling and dinner. The bowling alley is very good. Technically not up to date. But serves its purpose. The salads were already prepared and some of them were a bit lumpy, just like the carpaccio and the balsamic vinegar, which were unfortunately a bit dried out on the plate. The soups were different sizes and 7€ for such a small tomato soup. Don't look in the photo. Otherwise the food was tasty. We paid with a debit card; we would have liked to have seen the bill put together before we transferred the amount. (We received the compilation after payment)

We have been to Vogelsiedler several times recently and have received mixed reviews from our guests. The children had schnitzel with fries, unfortunately the schnitzel was not fried properly and some of the fries were unfortunately cold. Unfortunately, our guests with a steak au four have trouble with a slight rumbling stomach after eating. I had a zander fillet which was very tasty, unfortunately because the potatoes weren't hot. There was a lot going on that evening, maybe that was why. Then it's better to say no to a few guests instead of the quality suffering. Last week we were there again and not everything was perfect. One of our guests had wild goulash, unfortunately the portion size was not enough for an adult man, it was more of a senior portion. I had this chicken breast baked with tomato mozzarella and tagliatelle with it, unfortunately only half a slice of tomato was hidden under a little mozzarella and the tagliatelle were damn oily the deeper you got into the bowl, even if it was olive oil, it was still a bit "too much"! This time the children had nuggets with fries, some of the fries were cold and some were rock hard so that they jumped off the plate when they tried to bite them. I don't even want to talk about the loveless garnish on the plate (1 spoonful of grated carrot). At another table, a steak was returned in its entirety because the guest didn't like something. Conclusion: We'll be back, maybe you'll feel a change. The staff was friendly and nice, perhaps only one waitress should serve the table with drinks to avoid double bookings. When the food is served, we find the support of other colleagues helpful. Unfortunately our experiences are only worth 3 stars. There is room for improvement, work on it and maybe cancel a third, fourth, fifth party in one evening so that the quality doesn't suffer.

A large restaurant with overnight accommodation. There is also a bowling alley and a hairdresser. The service is friendly and the food came very quickly. Everything was very tasty and well prepared. The atmosphere is very modern, but also cozy.

Craziness! Update: After claiming it was the wrong restaurant, we looked out the bill and oops it wasn't €18.70 but €18.50! After the wrong comment from the owner and therefore down to one star! Update 2.0: First to delete your comment with “wrong restaurant” and then to claim that the purchases are the same in Zwickau and Berlin! You probably also think that all guests don't have a plan?! A tiny schnitzel with fries for €18.50 is a joke for a city with almost 90k inhabitants! I hope that many potential guests read your nonsense and hopefully go somewhere else! And regarding her employee, if asked how the food was, hardly anyone will say too expensive! Continue to be so unreasonable! The guest is king, but apparently not with you! Update 3.0: All I have to do is look at the last negative reviews and it will be confirmed! Eating out today in Regensburg (140k inhabitants) and here a Viennese style schnitzel costs a whopping €15.90! And not in mini format!
